Who is this Jesus guy anway??
Some people say he’s a prophet. Some say “he’s an important” person. Some say he’s just a man. Let’s take a look at what the Bible says.

And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district.
And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all.
And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.
And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,
And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.
And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
Luke 4:14-21 (New American Standard Bible)
*Isaiah 61:1-2 (New American Standard Bible)

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelation 1:8 (New American Standard Bible)

When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
Revelation 1:17-18 (New American Standard Bible)

So now looking at these verses, we can see several items of importance.
1. Jesus fulfills the prophecies of Isaiah 6:1-2.
2. The “Alpha and the Omega“, the “who is and who is to come” and the “first and the last” are the same person.
3. He says “I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore“. Who do we know from the Bible who was dead and then became alive again? Let’s continue on.

And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT.” Having said this, He breathed His last.
Luke 23:46 (New American Standard Bible)

And a man named Joseph, who was a member of the Council, a good and righteous man (he had not consented to their plan and action), a man from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who was waiting for the kingdom of God; this man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. And he took it down and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid Him in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had ever lain.
Luke 23:50-53 (New American Standard Bible)

But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling clothing; and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead? “He is not here, but He has risen Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”
And they remembered His words, and returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
Now they were Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James; also the other women with them were telling these things to the apostles.
But these words appeared to them as nonsense, and they would not believe them.
But Peter got up and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings only; and he went away to his home, marveling at what had happened.
Luke 24:1-12 (New American Standard Bible)

They began to relate their experiences on the road and how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
While they were telling these things, He Himself stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be to you.”
But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit.
And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?
“See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.
While they still could not believe it because of their joy and amazement, He said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?”
They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish; and He took it and ate it before them.
Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”
Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.”
“And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
Luke 24:35-49 (New American Standard Bible)

So who is this Jesus guy??
The Son of God, the Word, Savior, Master, Lord. Jesus!! A name above all names!!

The Departure

The Scripture is haunting. It echoes and reverberates throughout the spiritual hallways of the Church with each passing hour.
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1 Tim. 4:1).
This forewarning fits into the last-days pattern, also given by the Apostle Paul, in the familiar prophetic passage: “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of Perdition…” (2 Thes. 2:3).
The “falling away,” apostasia in Greek, means a “departure from.” Paul prophesied in the 2 Timothy 4:1 passage that there will come a time at the end of the Church Age when people will depart from the “faith.” He foretells in 2 Thessalonians that this will be a general “falling away,” the apostasy of the endtime. What is this “faith” from which people will fall away, and who are the “people” who will fall away? Another crucial question is: Can the departure that God, through Paul, forewarned about be recognized when it occurs?
“Faith,” as here defined, must, by context, be the faith in the One who is at the heart of the Gospel–faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God, chosen from the foundation of the world to be the propitiation for the sin that separates fallen man from God. It is the faith you and I must have in order to confess with our mouths that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, and to believe in the deepest part of our spirits that God raised Him from the dead.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Rom. 10:9).
A person can’t fall from a position (doctrinally speaking in this case) he never has attained. The “people,” then, whom Paul the apostle is writing about in his prophecies of 1 Timothy 4:1 and 2 Thessalonians 2:3 are those who have believed in Jesus Christ for salvation of their souls.
This brings us to the question: Can the departure God, through Paul, forewarned about be recognized when it occurs? To recognize that “falling away”–that apostasia, or apostasy— when it begins to happen, will almost certainly give the Christian attuned to God’s will a heads-up on the nearness of the Tribulation era, thus to the nearness of the rapture of the Church.
We have looked at the “faith” as faith in Jesus for salvation, and at the “people”who will “depart” from the faith as being the Church–that is, the true Christians who are alive at the time of the end, when the apostasy takes place.
Although there are those who think this departure includes the possibility of one losing one’s salvation, the “falling away” of 2 Thessalonians 2:3 cannot include that meaning. A quick look at Romans 8:38 and 39, to name just one security-of-the-believer passage, shows that God’s Word teaches that the believer can’t depart from the Heavenly Father to the point of losing his or her family status. Jesus, in John chapter 17, makes that absolutely clear. I suggest that if you have questions about this, read the Scriptures I just mentioned.
What, then, is meant by “departing from the “faith”? Glad you asked. The “faith” mentioned in 2 Thessalonians and 1 Timothy 2:3 is a collection of faith principles wrapped up in the Lord Jesus Christ. These principles are doctrines put forth by the Word of God. The Word of God is none other than the Lord Jesus: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1).
“People” at the time of the “falling away” will “depart” from the “faith” –the doctrines put forth by the Word of God, who is Jesus Christ. This departure will mark the generation of Christians at the very end of the Church Age.
The question that applies most relevantly to us today is: Are we seeing signals of the departure about which Paul forewarned?
We have analyzed, dissected, examined, and inspected every endtime signal found in God’s Word many times in these webpages: Israel again in the land of promise; the EU looking to be the reviving Roman Empire; Russia, Persia (modern Iran) and other nations looking to be a nucleus that will one day form the Gog-Magog force of Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39. These, plus, all of the other endtime characteristics of this generation.
However, I believe the most insidious of all the things taking place under the clever, devious hand of the devil –Satan—is the falling away, the departure from the faith being currently orchestrated by Lucifer, the fallen one.
This departure is evident to the spiritually discerning when looking at the church growth movement. This “seeker friendly” approach to both the saved and the lost (all who don’t know Christ) through New Age, corporation-type seminar seductiveness and brainwashing techniques that water down or completely eliminate true Bible doctrine is leading in a profound departure from the “faith once delivered” (see Jude 1: 3).
The new paradigm instituted by the champions of the church growth movement is the shift from New Testament Christianity to “New Spirituality-Driven Christianity.” Like in the modern corporate organization, invented in large part by German economic guru Peter Drucker, who mentored some of the leading designers of the church growth movement, the system is more an organism than an organization –adopting Drucker’s model based upon Freudian psychology and Darwinian evolutionary principles. The individual is assigned a value, and he must fit in, or be removed from the system. To put it as I heard one person of the movement say: “Pillars just hold things up. So, they need to be moved out of the way.” So, those who hold to doctrine must get out of the way so no one will have their feelings hurt by talk of sin, and blood atonement, and eternal punishment in the place called Hell, if repentance is not forthcoming. Again, the Apostle Paul wrote God’s view of this watering down of doctrine:
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed” (Gal. 1:8).
Are we at the point of departure from the faith that is prophesied for the very end of the Church Age? Maybe we can get a better sense by looking at one more area of Scripture pertaining to the matter: “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (2 Tim. 4:1-4).
There is another prophetically scheduled departure to consider. It’s the one we should be looking forward to. It is a God-ordained departure that will remove every child of God of the Church Age –living and dead—from Planet Earth in one millisecond of time:
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ” (Tit. 2:13).

Satan Devours Another Group of Pilgrims

In Mina, Saudi Arabia, the annual Hajj came to a deadly conclusion. On the last day of the pilgrimage, several people tripped over luggage that spilled from moving buses, causing a stampede in which at least 345 people were killed and 1,000 injured.
This year’s Hajj already had been marred by the collapse of a hotel being used by pilgrims. The January 5 disaster killed 76 people in Mecca.
The stampede occurred while pilgrims were in the process of completing a symbolic stoning of the devil. In the shrine complex is a series of three pillars representing the devil that the faithful pelt with seven stones to purge themselves of sin.
The pillars are located on a pedestrian bridge the width of an eight-lane highway. A number of ramps and walkways lead up the bridge to give pilgrims access to the site.
This is not the first time the Hajj has been visited by calamity. Over the years, several tragic events have been related to the stoning ritual. Here is a timeline of some of those headlines reported by the world press:
2004: At least 244 persons died and hundreds were hurt.
2003: At least 14 people were killed.
2001: 35 people died in stampede during stoning.
1998: At least 180 were trampled to death.
1997: 343 pilgrims died and 1,500 were injured in a fire.
1994: 270 were killed in a stampede as worshippers surged forward during stoning.
1990: 1,426 pilgrims were killed in overcrowded pedestrian tunnel leading to holy sites.
1987: 400 died in an Iranian-Saudi confrontation.
The stampedes are not the result of gross neglect on the part of Saudi Arabian officials. In fact, the Saudi Arabian government has taken a number of steps to try to prevent the loss of life. They recently widened the bridge, built extra ramps, and extended the time frame during which pilgrims can carry out the ritual. They keep more than 10,000 security personnel on duty, and they monitor traffic via 300 cameras that have been installed.
Considering that mass death stampedes are a rarity, their frequency in Mina defies logical explanation. I don’t recall hearing of a regular body clean up after partygoers celebrate the New Year in Times Square, New York, or after national sports championships. It could be noted that these events even have an added danger because of widespread alcohol consumption.
I firmly believe the devil is the reason Islamic pilgrims are trampled to death with such strange regularity.
Because Satan is the true god of the Hajj, one would think he would want the pilgrimage to be a smoothly run operation. The ironic twist of having people die during the stoning ritual apparently is just too tempting for Satan and his host of fallen angels to pass up.
In response to the latest loss of life, the Saudis have announced plans for further modifying the site in the coming years to allow some 500,000 pilgrims an hour to carry out the stoning. I think they could expand that number to a million, and people will still be going home in body bags. Nothing will change until Muslims realize something is fundamentally wrong with their whole belief system.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

Footprints in the Sand

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord, “You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?
”The Lord replied, “The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you.”

Former Muslim Claims ‘Deception’ Key in Rise in European Converts to Islam

Tuesday, January 17th, 2006

More about the deceptive methods of conversion to islam. Islam, called the RoP (sarcastically the Religion of Peace) or the RoD (not sarcastically the Religion of Death) on this blog has two main tenants (both found in the Koran) that people need to be aware of.
1. Islam can use any method necessary to convert you.
2. If you will not convert, they can kill you.

(AgapePress) – A Christian evangelist who was involved with Islam for 15 years says she understands why a growing number of European women are converting to the false religion. Speaking from experience, she claims it is primarily because the women are being deceived — by Muslim men.
A recent article in
The Christian Science Monitor said that European women are being attracted to Islam because they like “the sense of belonging and caring and sharing that Islam offers” amidst the “moral uncertainties of Western society.” According to a researcher quoted in the article, many women are attracted to the Muslim faith because “there is more space for family and motherhood in Islam — and women are not sex objects.”
W.L. Cati is the founder of
Zennah Ministries and a former Muslim. She says in reality, Islam treats women very badly — and European converts, she adds, are buying into an age-old lie. “The way Islam treats any woman, why does any woman … convert? Because these [Muslim] men are deceivers,” she asserts. “It’s like you have to go back to the Garden of Eden: Eve was deceived by the serpent.”
Cati believes Muslim men have a deceptive spirit and will tell unsuspecting women anything they want to hear to get them to convert. “They twist the word of God on these women, on any women, on anybody, and they use deception,” she says. “They have a lying, deceptive spirit.”
The Christian Science Monitor article suggests that one reason for the increase of Muslim converts among white European women may be due to the fact that security monitors and police are “more relaxed” about them and less likely to consider them terrorist risks. But Cati believes there is another reason why Islamic leaders want as many European women as possible to convert.
“They can marry them, have more children, populate the earth, and spread Islam in that way,” she says. “It’s the same M.O. anywhere they go.”
Another factor, adds Cati, is that the gospel of Christ is not strong in Europe, which she says has allowed Muslims to “come in and [sweep the] whole continent with Islam.” The Monitor article states while there are not precise figures, researchers who monitor Europe’s Muslim population estimate several thousand men and women convert each year.

Supreme Court Upholds Oregon Assisted-Suicide Law

Tuesday, January 17th, 2006

Welcome to Oregon, the State of Death.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld Oregon’s one-of-a-kind physician-assisted suicide law, rejecting a Bush administration attempt to punish doctors who help terminally ill patients die.
Justices, on a 6-3 vote, said the 1997 Oregon law used to end the lives of more than 200 seriously ill people trumped federal authority to regulate doctors.
That means the administration improperly tried to use a federal drug law to prosecute Oregon doctors who prescribe overdoses. Then-Attorney General John Ashcroft vowed to do that in 2001, saying that doctor-assisted suicide is not a “legitimate medical purpose.”
Justice Anthony Kennedy, writing for the majority, said the federal government does, indeed, have the authority to go after drug dealers and pass rules for health and safety.
But Oregon’s law covers only extremely sick people — those with incurable diseases, whom at least two doctors agree have six months or less to live and are of sound mind.

Oh yeah, that makes it better…NOT!!!

The Word

Tuesday, January 17th, 2006

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

End-Times Expert: God’s Peace Plan for Israel, Not Man’s, Will Succeed

Tuesday, January 17th, 2006

What some people are having problems understanding is that God is in control. It doesn’t matter what man has planned for His people (the Jews) and His nation (Israel), God will be dictating how it all works out. Want a hint? I’d start at the beginning of the Bible and read it all the way through.

(AgapePress) – Christian author, teacher, and lecturer James Goll says the recent stroke by Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has put a spotlight on the volatility in the Israeli-Palestinian region and on the importance of the United States siding with Israel.
Goll has written a book called Praying for Israel’s Destiny: Effective Intercession for God’s Purposes in the Middle East. In the book, the author uses scripture to highlight God’s plans for the Jewish people and their covenant land. According to him, God’s plan and timetable for Israel will not be hindered by Sharon’s replacement but will be carried out no matter who leads that nation.
The expert on the biblical account of the end times says, contrary to many people’s opinion, the solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict does not lie in the hands of the so-called superpowers. “I do not believe that it’s going to be what’s called ‘the Quartet’ of the United States, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations coming up with a contrived approach to try to bring peace,” he explains. “The Oslo peace accord failed years ago. This is now another rendition of the same kind of philosophy, and it too will fail.”
And yet, the sovereign will of the Lord will prevail in that volatile and difficult situation, Goll contends. Moreover, he adds, “God also, in His big plan, will use all of that to create crisis so as [to move people] eventually, out of pressure, to look to Himself and to cry out to the Lord for help.”
The Christian writer and teacher encourages every born-again believer to take seriously the Bible’s admonition to pray over the events unfolding in the Holy Land. “Each of us as believers has a call to pray for God’s purposes for Israel,” he asserts. “It says in Isaiah 62 (verses 6-7), ‘I have appointed watchmen’ on the walls who will give themselves no rest, and give him no rest until God has established Jerusalem. It doesn’t say Cairo, Washington, DC — there is only one city that we are all commanded to pray for across the globe. We are to pray for Jerusalem.”
Goll says man-made peace plans will not work in Israel, and it is important for Christians to realize that. He urges believers, according to scripture, to pray in line with God’s purposes for Israel, as that is the design that will ultimately be carried out.

‘Brokeback Mountain’ Gets 4 Golden Globes

Tuesday, January 17th, 2006

Says a lot about the moral decay of our society and the hollywood left. Oh well, let them pat themselves on their backs. Hollywood is so out of touch with mainstream America, they really just have no clue.

The cowboy romance “Brokeback Mountain” led the Golden Globes on Monday with four prizes, including best dramatic film and the directing honor for Ang Lee.
It was a triumphant night for films dealing with homosexuality and transsexuality. Along with the victories for “Brokeback Mountain,” acting honors went to Felicity Huffman in a gender-bending role as a man preparing for sex-change surgery in “Transamerica” and Philip Seymour Hoffman as gay author Truman Capote in “Capote.”

Read the rest here.

Also, read this commentary by WND Managing Editor David Kupelian.

“Brokeback Mountain,” the controversial “gay cowboy” film that has garnered seven Golden Globe nominations and breathless media reviews – and has now emerged as a front-runner for the Oscars – is a brilliant propaganda film, reportedly causing viewers to change the way they feel about homosexual relationships and same-sex marriage.
And how do the movie-makers pull off such a dazzling feat? Simple. They do it by raping the “Marlboro Man,” that revered American symbol of rugged individualism and masculinity.
We all know the Marlboro Man. In
“The Marketing of Evil,” I show how the Philip Morris Company made marketing history by taking one of the most positive American images of all time – the cowboy – and attaching it to a negative, death-oriented product – cigarettes.
Hit the pause button for a moment so this idea can completely sink in: Cigarette marketers cleverly attached, in the public’s mind, two utterly unrelated things: 1) the American cowboy, with all of the powerful feelings that image evokes in us, of independence, self-confidence, wide-open spaces and authentic Americanism, and 2) cigarettes, a stinky, health-destroying waste of money. This legendary advertising campaign targeting men succeeded in transforming market underdog Marlboro (up until then, sold as a women’s cigarette with the slogan “Mild as May”) into the world’s best-selling cigarette.
It was all part of the modern marketing revolution, which meant that, instead of touting a product’s actual benefits, marketers instead would psychologically manipulate the public by associating their product with the fulfillment of people’s deepest, unconscious needs and desires. (Want to sell liquor? Put a seductive woman in the ad.) Obviously, the marketers could never actually deliver on that promise – but emotional manipulation sure is an effective way to sell a lot of products.
The “Marlboro Man” campaign launched 50 years ago. Today, the powerful cowboy image is being used to sell us on another self-destructive product: homosexual sex and “gay” marriage.
