Scoffers – A Key Signal

Both Todd and I have addressed this end-time signal a number of times in Nearing Midnight commentaries. Because we are flooded these days by individuals and media scoffing about Christ’s return, and particularly about our position on the rapture, we must continue to present that scoffing for what it is –significantly a part of the overall deluge of prophesied last-days indicators.
The key prophecy, of course, is given in the following:
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation” (2 Pet. 3:3-4).
We received this past week an e-mail containing an article that, in my view, encapsulates some of this type of scoffing. The mocking coming from those who claim to be within the body of Jesus Christ makes it doubly troubling, because it leads to throwing fuel on the fires of rage against things of Christ –including prophecy yet future.
“’I am so frustrated by how so many so-called mainline Christians, clergy included, are caught up by dispensationalism,’ said the Rev. Robert Flowers, a local peace activist who also heads the Wesley Foundation, a United Methodist center just off the Baylor University campus.”
The article reported the reverend’s further castigation of those of us who believe as, he thinks, we believe. “’This view of a militant, violent sequence of events for the end times,’ he said, ‘has no problem with Jesus coming back in a blaze of glory, casting nonbelievers into hell with modern weaponry.’”
Rev Flowers believes that the Revelation and other apocalyptic writings in the Bible are just a reflection of the times John wrote it, in dire opposition to Rome, and to give some comfort to those under the oppressive thumb of their Roman masters. He scoffs at any literal interpretation of those passages involving God’s wrath, and says those of us who do believe in a literal interpretation are…well, I’ll let his own words from the article say it:
“’These people want to help usher in the so-called second coming of Jesus by any means necessary, even violent destruction via militarism,’ Flowers said” (excerpts taken from “Are we living in the final days? Local clergy weigh in,” Sunday, July 23, 2006, by Terri Jo Ryan, Tribune-Herald).
His is but one of many voices deriding, mocking, and scoffing at the pre-trib view of prophecy, the rapture, and Jesus’ literal return in the second advent to put an end to mankind’s sin-filled madness. From such diatribes, secular media constantly question Todd and me, as well as Dr. LaHaye, Hal Lindsey, and many others, wondering over how we can wish for all-out war in the Middle East so that Christ return.
Such is the furthest from the truth possible. We simply put forth what God’s Word says about these matters. For example, the strike Israel made on Qana, Lebanon on Sunday, July 30, must be reported, in light of Israel’s place in Bible prophecy. We didn’t pray for Israel to strike Qana, killing more than 60 people. But such turmoil and unrest –such tragedy—is prophesied for Israel and its blood-vowed enemies the closer the age draws to Christ’s second advent.
The defensive act by Israel –to hit Hezbollah where they launched the short-range rockets from–is a fact. The act has seemed to begin, in earnest, the polarization of the international community against Israel –and perhaps the U.S. for its refusal –to this point—to twist Israel’s arm to accept a Kofi Annan demanded U.N. cease-fire. This is part, I feel, of the Mideast situation building toward Zechariah, chapters 12 and 14, predicting that Israel will become a “burdensome stone” to the whole world. They will become, ultimately, surrounded, and threatened by all the world.
One friend pointed out in a special newsletter that something quite unusual has occurred at times throughout Jewish history on a certain memorialized date. The piece says, in part:
“We are fast approaching the date of Tisha b’Av on the Jewish calendar, which falls this year on August 3. It always falls in late July or early August. It is a date of ironic Jewish tragedies over thousands of years. Are the dates coincidental? Here are just some examples of what happened on Tisha b’Av throughout history:
The first Temple was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 B.C. and the second Temple was demolished on the same date by the Romans in 70 A.D.
The Jews were expelled from Spain on that date in 1491.
The Russian pogroms, World War I and World War II all occurred on that day. (Remember, the date varies from year to year.)
The Jews were exiled from England on that date in 1290.
Moses broke the tablets at Mount Sinai following the sin of the golden calf on that date.
It would seem to stretch credulity to suggest that these incidents (and others not listed) fell on Tisha b’Av by coincidence” (The Olive Tree Ministries newsletter, July 30, 2006).
I certainly am not predicting something of an earth-shaking nature, such as listed above, will happen August 3 –other than I will become one year older on that date. However, we –as watchmen—are told to be observant (Mark 13:37).
We live on this planet, too. We have loved ones who would be affected by World War III, or Armageddon, the same as everyone else. We don’t want Armageddon. But, regardless, Armageddon is on the way. God’s Word says so, in very specific and horrific terms. Those opposed to the literal truth of God’s words on the coming apocalypse seem to want to stone the messengers. So, we must ask: Where does the violence really lie? With we who are trying to warn people of the wrath of God to come, or in those who want us off the planet, to shut us up?
That, incidentally, is exactly what will happen. Our critics will have wish fulfillment beyond their wildest imaginations. One day –perhaps very soon—Christians will indeed be removed. The rebellious earth-dwellers can then attempt to build their Utopia. They will even have a genius master architect to guide in constructing the one world order so fervently sought over recent decades. The final results will be catastrophic beyond any ever thought possible, according to Jesus, reflecting on the prophecy He gave Isaiah the prophet. Jesus said: “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matt. 24:21).
Scoffing is a prime signal of where we must be on God’s prophetic timeline. While we do not want global war, or regional war, or any other kind of war, we must proclaim that God’s Word says it is coming. We can do nothing to stop what God has plainly prophesied will occur. He is omniscient, and cannot lie.
Although we want peace, not war, we do look for His coming for us, first for all believers in the Rapture, then, at least seven years later, in the glorious appearing of Revelation 19:11. We do not shrink, therefore, from saying with the prophet John: “…Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Rev. 22:20).

“Your End-Time Wake Up Call”

It has been a very long time since Rapture Ready has experienced such a prolonged period of interest from the media and general public. Normally, after a major event occurs, we see a huge spike in traffic, then the numbers quickly return to normal.
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah forces in Southern Lebanon has been driving up the traffic. I’ve been getting a ton of hate mail from the unsaved folks who have come to the site from various links. Because I have so many letters to choose from, next week’s monthly update of the “Interesting E-mail” section will include some colorful examples.
Not all of the e-mail messages have been negative. A large chunk of the mail is from Christians who have discovered the site from search requests or news article links, and they are very pleased about finding our site. Other believers say they have been visiting the site for years and feel compelled by these recent events to step forward and praise the site for being so vigilant.
My thoughts remain with the folks who are not fans of the site. Any indication that the wheels of prophecy are moving forward is a reminder that time will eventully run out for people who have yet to find salvation in Christ.
I am certain that when Judgment Day comes and all humanity stands before the great white throne, the people who died lost will be blaming me for not doing enough to overcome their doubt. Well, Sir/Madam, here in late July of 2006 is your end-time wake up call.
If the signs of the time have left you unconvinced of your need for a Savior, I suggest that you at least pick a point at which you will believe. As we get closer to the tribulation hour, the end-time picture will continue to grow clearer. Even the most godless atheists should have a level where they are compelled to say, “Hey, something is definitely going on here.”
A warning: Anyone waiting for more spectacular occurrences to prove the accuracy of prophecy is playing a very dangerous game.
First, you can never satisfy a purely skeptical mind. If people don’t act on warning signs, they quickly become desensitized to their importance. During the tribulation hour, when the grand finale of supernatural judgments will be poured out, the Bible says most people will still refuse to repent.
Second, missing the rapture is a very big mistake. Once the “blessed hope” takes place, the standard for becoming a follower of Christ is going to dramatically change. All post-rapture believers will need to be willing to suffer martyrdom for their new-found faith.
I marvel at how well the Lord has put together the decision-making process we commonly call life. Everyone is born with an indication that he or she needs to find some form of redemption. All one needs to do is call upon the Son of God for salvation. The only problem is that most people are too stubborn or too lazy to seek out the truth.
What convinced me to become a Christian was realizing that the world was following a path set by Bible prophecy. That was 23 years ago. Two decades later, I see no reason for people to be sitting on the fence.
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18).

Re-Post: “Outrage Misplaced?” by Hal Lindsey

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

It appears that Hizbollah has scored a major propaganda triumph through a callously staged carnage of women and children in Qana, Lebanon. You may think this is just another prejudiced attempt at propaganda in favor of Israel. But before you draw that conclusion, consider these established facts:

• Israel has both satellite and drone aircraft videos unmistakably showing Hizbollah trucks pulling into civilian buildings in Qana loaded with katyusha rockets
• Israel also has videos of many katyusha rockets being launched from the particular building containing civilians that was bombed
• Israel had pleaded with all non-combatants to leave the Qana area for several days through leaflets and radio announcements
• Israel had no idea that there were any civilians in the targeted building
• However, Hizbollah knew they were there and continued to launch missiles at Israeli cities from there
• Hizbollah also knew that Israel was tracking those missiles from their launch site

So here are some important questions:
1. Why were those approximately sixty women and children in that building when the rest of the city was virtually empty of civilians?
2. Why did Hizbollah launch multiple missiles from next to the building?
3. Why was there no civilian men found dead there?
4. Why did it take Hizbollah seven hours after the guided bomb hit the building to report it?
5. Did the single Israeli bomb cause the building to totally collapse, or did secondary explosions from rockets stored there contribute to the disaster

An estimated 54 people were tragically killed when the building collapsed, mostly children. This is a real lamentable tragedy that certainly should have been avoided. But the only ones who knew they were there was the Hizbollah combatants who were launching rockets next to the building.
There is good reason to believe that Hizbollah did not allow the women and children to evacuate and staged this carnage.
There are many established incidences of Hizbollah using civilians as human shields while fighting with the Israelis. This is what has made the going so tough for the Israeli soldiers. Hizbollah counts on the fact that Israelis do not intentionally target civilians.

In this case, Hizbollah counted on many other things to achieve their propaganda goals.
They knew they could count on the ingrained hatred of Israel (and the United States) by Muslims everywhere so that they would believe the worst about them despite any factual evidence.
They also knew that showing the bodies of mangled children on television would turn the Lebanese over to their side.
They also knew that these same horrible images would turn the entire world against Israel, and the Muslim world into a mindless rage against Israel and the United States.
They also knew that this incident would incite the Useful Idiot Squad among Western liberals to demand a cease-fire that would live them “victors” in the mind of the Muslim world and still armed with missiles of every kind.

As I have said in other articles, war is hell. It should only be entered when absolutely necessary. Israel had no choice but to go to war when Hamas and Hizbollah took hostage several soldiers, coupled with a rain of rockets on their cities.
In view of Israel’s offensive military capability, they have used remarkable restraint and care to avoid killing non-combatants.

It would be very instructive to remember incidences of past wars to put this incident, though tragic, into perspective – especially for the liberals in the West.
Winston Churchill ordered the RAF to bomb Dresden, Germany on the night of February 13th, 1945. Here is the historical account:
On the evening of February 13, 1945, an orgy of genocide and barbarism began against a defenseless German city, one of the greatest cultural centers of northern Europe. Within less than 14 hours not only was it reduced to flaming ruins, but an estimated one-third of its inhabitants, possibly as many as a half a million, had perished in what was the worst single event massacre of all time … Dresden, known as the Florence of the North. Dresden was a hospital city for wounded soldiers. Not one military unit, not one anti-aircraft battery was deployed in the city. Together with the 600.000 refugees from Breslau, Dresden was filled with nearly 1.2 million people … More than 700.000 phosphorus bombs were dropped on 1.2 million people. One bomb for every 2 people. The temperature in the center of the city reached 1600 degrees centigrade. More than 260.000 bodies and residues of bodies were counted. But those who perished in the center of the city can’t be traced. Approximately 500.000 children, women, the elderly, wounded soldiers and the animals of the zoo were slaughtered in one night.” (Rense.com The WWII Dresden Holocaust)

Harry S. Truman ordered Nagasaki and Hiroshima to be hit with atomic bombs. Though not as many civilians were killed in those two raids as in Dresden, they will be forever remembered with horror.

In both cases, victory was already assured. But Britain and the United States wanted to end the war with fewer allied casualties than would have been suffered without these raids to demoralize the enemies’ will to fight.

In Israel’s case, enemies who want to annihilate them as a nation and people surround it. They know they can’t afford to loose even once or they will not survive. When this is factored into the present conflict, it is almost unbelievable that they have used such restraint in view of their danger and military capability.
Even though Israel did not know there were women and children in the building they targeted for good tactical reasons, they still have expressed profound regret for the loss of life. But in the historical attacks I listed above, there was never any profound apology expressed, especially over the holocaust at Dresden.
Think about that before you start condemning Israel and demanding a cease-fire that leaves them still in mortal danger.

Israel rejects ceasefire calls in Lebanon war

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

We need to continue to support Israel in it’s fight to defend itself against terror and the terrorist host nations.
Try to read past the Anti-Semitic twist offered by Al-Reuters in this article.

BEIRUT (Reuters) – Israel rejected mounting international pressure on Monday to end its war against Hizbollah and launched a new incursion into Lebanon despite halting most air raids for 48 hours.
With world powers still at odds over a ceasefire, a U.N. official said a meeting scheduled for Monday on a new peacekeeping force for Lebanon had been delayed “until there is more political clarity” on the path ahead in the 20-day-old war.
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said on Monday there would be no ceasefire in the war in the coming days.
“The fighting continues. There is no ceasefire and there will not be any ceasefire in the coming days,” Olmert told local officials, drawing sustained applause.
Civilians fled battered villages in southern Lebanon after Israel agreed partially to halt air strikes for 48 hours, and aid convoys headed into the area to deliver supplies.
Rescue workers found 28 bodies buried for days in destroyed buildings in three south Lebanon villages, the Red Cross said.
The Israeli military said it had launched a new ground incursion into Lebanon, moving troops into the Aita al-Shaab area. Hizbollah said its guerrillas were engaging the advancing force in fierce fighting.
Israeli jets dropped two bombs to support troops battling Hizbollah inside Lebanon and artillery shells hit two southern villages. A Lebanese soldier died and three were wounded when another Israeli air strike destroyed their vehicle. And a drone destroyed a truck at the main Lebanon-Syria border crossing.

Abortionists investigated for possible baby murder

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

The horrors of abortion keep growing. How did the most caring and compassionate country in the world get to this point?

The dead body of a baby who probably was born alive and then killed is just “business as usual” for the nation’s abortion industry, a spokesperson for the Florida Right to Life effort told WorldNetDaily.
“This is the result of legalized abortion in our nation. There are very few protections for the mother, and basically no protections for the unborn children,” Linda Bell said.
She was talking about an investigation being done now by the Miami-Dade County medical examiner and police in Hialeah into the death of a baby whose body was found in a biohazard bag at an abortion clinic in the South Florida city.
The discovery came after someone, perhaps a clinic worker, according to police, called 911 anonymously to report that a baby had been born alive, and was killed.
A lawyer for the owner of “A Gynecologists Diagnostic Center” immediately issued a statement that no crime was committed, and an 18-year-old had had an abortion without complications.
“My clients run an abortion clinic. It’s a legal business,” Regina DeMoraes-Millan told television station WFOR-TV in Miami-Fort Lauderdale. “Right now police are just investigating a 9-1-1 call.”
Police and the coroner, however, have a little higher level of concern, and ordered the clinic closed while their investigation determined whether any criminal charges would be filed.
“In 24 years in law enforcement, I have never seen a case like this,”” Hialeah Det. Tony Rodriguez told the station.
Authorities report their investigation includes the potential for homicide charges, as well as evidence tampering. The baby reportedly was 12 inches long and weighed up to three pounds, an age and weight at which premature infants can survive outside the womb.
Witnesses reported to police the 18-year-old woman, whose name wasn’t released, went to the clinic at about 22 weeks of pregnancy for an abortion, then returned the next day complaining of pain. Clinic workers said the doctor wasn’t available and she would have to wait.
The witnesses reported that she was taken into a recovery room, where she gave birth to the child she thought had been aborted the day before.
“Employees cut the umbilical cord, put the baby in a bag and walked away with it,” Hialeah Lt. Ralph Garcia said.
After the anonymous 9-1-1 call, police responded but found no body. Then they returned a second time, following a second call, and found the body in the biohazard bag. Detectives say it’s possible clinic workers moved the body during the first visit, to avoid detection, according to LifeNews.com.
Bell said her organization and others concerned about life repeatedly have tried to get basic health clinic rules applied to abortion businesses, without success to date.
“Unfortunately, that’s the mentality of this country, that the abortion business is not subject (to rules),” she told WorldNetDaily. “This is the result of that.”
She said the death was tragic, but she couldn’t call it a murder until the autopsy results were released because that is a legal term.
An autopsy was done over the weekend, with results pending that could impact Hialeah Police Chief Rolando Bolaco’s closure order for the clinic.
A report by the Miami Herald said state records show the clinic is one of a group owned and run by the same people. The records show the owner is Belkis Gonzalez of Miramar, who also was listed as the owner of the Miramar clinic that was closed in 2005 after several workers were accused of practicing medicine without a license.
The state Department of Health concluded that one worker, Roberto A. Osborne, failed to treat a woman after giving her an abortion in 2000 and he pleaded guilty in 2005 to performing medicine without a license, a third-degree felony.
The woman in that case ended up in an emergency room, where doctors performed a hysterectomy, the health department said.
Bell also noted that she was not surprised, because the Miramar clinic at one point promoted a cleaning woman to medical assistant so she could assist with abortions. Bell said the woman later pleaded guilty to nursing without a license.
One of the witnesses in the ongoing case is the baby’s mother.
“We were able to locate the mother of this child. … She, in fact, reiterated that she did come to this clinic to have an abortion, and she gave birth to the baby while waiting for the doctor to arrive,” Lt. Garcia told WTVJ-TV.

“THE RESURGENCE OF ORWELLIAN IDEALS” by Fern Sidman

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

When George Orwell originally penned his classic novel “1984”, I would venture a guess that neither he nor his readers ever actually envisaged a world that would embrace these warped and twisted values. Fast forward to the year 2006 and we are witness to a world that is being taunted with such strikingly similar values. We live in a world where otherwise educated and civilized people perceive an aggressor as a victim and the victim as the aggressor. Ideals and organizations that are predicated on a theology of terror and espouse a mantra of hate have been elevated to a heroic like status. They have garnered sympathy and support, while the world expresses its unabashed opprobrium towards concepts and countries that espouse justice and respect for life.

We need only look to the current crisis in the Middle East for qualification of the latest version of Orwellian values. The organization known as Hezbollah, an internationally renowned terrorist organization that is being sponsored by Iran and Syria, countries that espouse terrorism and the ultimate demise of Israel and the Western world, staged an unprovoked attack against Israel on July 12th. Since that time, Israel and Hezbollah have been embroiled in a war that raised the ire of the world. The Lebanese people have been used as human shields by Hezbollah whose main objective is to transform the fledgling democracy in Lebanon into another fundamentalist Islamic state.

Hezbollah is a well organized and thoroughly trained band of guerilla fighters who fight their battles while living in civilian populations and blending in with the civilian infrastructure. Since the inception of this current conflict they have fired thousands of Katyusha rockets into Israel from civilian strongholds and neighborhoods throughout southern Lebanon and in Beirut. Civilians are warned each and every time Israel prepares to strike back at Hezbollah terrorists. Thousands of leaflets are disseminated through these civilian areas, imploring all civilians to leave the area.

The recent incident in Qana, which aroused worldwide condemnation of Israel for the killing of 56 civilians, mostly women and children, deserves closer examination. According to writer David Horowitz, “Qana, be it noted was the source of 150 missile attacks on Israeli civilians, and the population of Qana was warned to leave but chose to stay alongside the terrorists. Like most of Lebanon, the population of Qana is on the side of the aggressors, and apparently like most Muslims in this part of the world, death for them is a badge of martyrdom and honor, and a noble pathway to heaven. They are willing instruments of the Islamist jihad.”

Further evidence of Hezbollah’s intent to place the Lebanese civilian population at risk has been revealed by Israel Insider’s Reuven Koret, who filed on a report on 7/31/06 which stated, “On the morning of July 30, according to the IDF, the air force came in three waves. In the first, between midnight and one in the morning, there was a strike at or near the building that eventually collapsed. There was a second strike at other targets far from the collapse building several hours later, and a third strike at around 7:30 in the morning. There too the nearest hit was some 460 meters away, according to the IDF. But first reports of a building collapse came only around 8 am.

Thus there was an unexplained 7 to 8 hour gap between the time of the helicopter strike and the building collapse. Brigadier General Amir Eshel, Head of the Air Force Headquarters, in a press briefing, told journalists that “the attack on the structure in the Qana village took place between midnight and one in the morning. The gap between the timing of the collapse of the building and the time of the strike on it is unclear.”

Gen. Eshel appeared genuinely mystified by the gap in time. He said, “I’m saying this very carefully, because at this time I don’t have a clue as to what the explanation could be for this gap,” he added.

The army’s only explanation was that somehow there was unexploded Hezbollah ordnance in the building that only detonated much later.

“It could be that inside the building, things that could eventually cause an explosion were being housed, things that we could not blow up in the attack, and maybe remained there, Brigadier General Eshel said.

Eshel reported that as recently as two days ago, military intelligence reported the building area had been used by the terrorists for storage or firing of weapons. It was a bad place to cram dozens of women and children.

There are other mysteries. The roof of the building was intact. Journalist Ben Wedeman of CNN noted that there was a larger crater next to the building, but observed that the building appeared not to have collapsed as a result of the Israeli strike.

Why would the civilians who had supposedly taken shelter in the basement of the building not leave after the post-midnight attack? They just went back to sleep and had the bad luck to wait for the building to collapse in the morning? ”

These are questions that have yet to be answered. Perhaps in the days that follow investigations of this incident will uncover facts that Hezbollah would prefer to hide from the world. Hezbollah has already won the public relations battle. They clearly have the United Nations in their corner, an international governmental body that sits with bated breath at every opportunity to condemn Israel. They have the EU and the Arab countries on their side. South American and Asian countries have chimed in with their vocal and strident condemnation of Israel as well.

Hezbollah has won the hearts and minds of the Lebanese people, however, in retrospect that wasn’t an arduous battle. The Lebanese people have thrown their support behind Hezbollah as is evidenced in the composition of the Lebanese parliament. Over 20 percent of the members of this parliament are Hezbollah representatives. The Lebanese people never demanded that their government implement and enforce United Nations Security Council resolution 1559 issued in the year 2000, which placed the responsibility of harnessing Hezbollah forces in the hands of the Lebanese military.

The Lebanese people, particularly the Shiitte population in southern Lebanon, view Hezbollah as a big, warm and giving social service agency. Hezbollah has adroitly filled the stomachs of its constituents, fattening them up, metaphorically speaking for the kill. For the beneficiaries of Hezbollah’s outreach and social service programs are now being called upon to pay the piper. They pay with their lives and the lives of the children as human shields for those who gained favor in their hearts for all the “goodness” that was bestowed upon them.

It is of no great revelation that we hear that Lebanese president Faud Siniora praised Hezbollah for its efforts in defeating the Israeli enemy as he attempts to shore up even more support from the Lebanese population for Hezbollah, thereby encouraging even more of them to die as martyrs to an organization that cares nothing for them, their lives or the future of their children.

And yet we hear no sounds of outrage and indignation at the murderous policy of Hezbollah directed at the Lebanese people. We hear of no raucous and explosive demonstrations directed at Hezbollah for placing the lives of its own people in death’s doorway. Instead, we are deluged with condemnations and denunciations of Israel’s military actions in Lebanon. We hear the world condemn Israel’s “disproportionate” response to the constant barrage of Katyusha rockets that have rained down on Israeli cities and towns. We hear admonitions directed at Israel to exercise self-restraint when attempting to defeat their hardened enemy that seeks its destruction.

As Charles Krauthammer stated in his article entitled, ‘Disproportionate’ in What Moral Universe?’ (Washington Post, 7/28/06), “When one is wantonly attacked by an aggressor, one has every right — legal and moral — to carry the fight until the aggressor is disarmed and so disabled that it cannot threaten one’s security again.”

Mr. Krauthammer goes on to state that, “The perversity of today’s international outcry lies in the fact that there is indeed a disproportion in this war, a radical moral asymmetry between Hezbollah and Israel: Hezbollah is deliberately trying to create civilian casualties on both sides while Israel is deliberately trying to minimize civilian casualties, also on both sides.

Israeli innocents must die in order for Israel to be terrorized. But Lebanese innocents must also die in order for Israel to be demonized, which is why Hezbollah hides its fighters, its rockets, its launchers, its entire infrastructure among civilians. Creating human shields is a war crime. It is also a Hezbollah specialty.
Had Israel wanted to destroy Lebanese civilian infrastructure, it would have turned out the lights in Beirut in the first hour of the war, destroying the billion-dollar power grid and setting back Lebanon 20 years. It did not do that. Instead it attacked dual-use infrastructure — bridges, roads, airport runways — and blockaded Lebanon’s ports to prevent the reinforcement and resupply of Hezbollah. Ten thousand Katyusha rockets are enough. Israel was not going to allow Hezbollah 10,000 more.”

Today the nation of Israel faces even more deadly attacks from the Hezbollah terrorists. Today the nation of Israel, which represents the values of preserving human life, of upholding the loftiest of moral concepts has been transformed into the world’s bogeyman. It is viewed as a giant and ruthless murder machine, which displays a callous disregard for civilian lives. Today the nation of Israel is being raked over the proverbial coals by a world possessed by Orwellian values. Bad is good, right is wrong, justice is injustice. The aggressor is now the victim and the victim is now the horrific aggressor.

Mr. Orwell, wherever you are, we send you a message that your ominous vision has manifested itself. It is a world gone mad, and all vestiges of morality and conscience are slowly and methodically becoming obsolete.

At this most frightening and difficult period in history, those of us left with a modicum of morality, ethics and values must speak out. We must orchestrate a campaign to challenge the purveyors of Orwellian thoughts and to neutralize their vitriolic and incendiary rhetoric.

It is indeed a dark moment in the history of the Jewish people and of the nation of Israel. Our values and ethos must come from our unwavering faith and trust in the Almighty G-d of Israel. Our morals and values must be derived from our G-d given sources of Torah. Our values must reflect the words of our prayers to G-d. Our morals and values spring forth from the divine words of King David in the book of Psalms. It is time to rededicate ourselves to serving our
G-d with devotion and passion.

May the Almighty G-d of Israel protect His nation, Israel and may we see a world that can distinguish between light and darkness and of right and wrong.

CAIR Labels Israel A Terrorist State

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

Did we really expect the slimy terrorist living amoung us here in the U.S. to say otherwise? I didn’t. Well, of course they gave lip service by so called “condeming” the real terrorist, but as usual, they are not only in the band of “Condem Israel for Defending Herself”, they are leading it.

(CNSNews.com) – An Islamic advocacy group accuses Israel of waging a campaign of terror in southern Lebanon.
Moreover, the Council on American-Islamic Relations says U.S. support for “Israeli terror” is undermining America’s credibility and interests worldwide.
“Whenever civilians are attacked to achieve a political goal, the charge of terrorism must be applied, whether the terrorist is an individual, a group or a state,” said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.
“Our government must end its support for Israel’s campaign of terror in Lebanon and join an international effort to protect and bring humanitarian aid to the civilian population of that devastated nation.”
CAIR issued the press release in reaction to the Israeli air strike that killed 57 civilians, many of them children, in the south Lebanese village of Qana on Sunday.
CAIR said it is accusing Israel of state terrorism based on statements by Israeli officials who have said “they intend to make the civilian population of Lebanon suffer in order to put pressure on Hezbollah.” (Israel has said that its quarrel is not with the people of Lebanon, but rather with Hizballah, a terrorist group that hides among the civilian population.)
CAIR noted that Israeli Justice Minister Haim Ramon declared last week that, “Everyone in southern Lebanon is a terrorist and is connected to Hizbollah.”
And CAIR also noted that Israel’s most popular newspaper has advocated the destruction of Lebanese villages from which Hizballah fires rockets at Israel.
Israel has said it does not target civilians, but Hizballah does — by hiding among them and storing its weapons in their homes.
Israel noted that it has dropped leaflets throughout southern Lebanon, warning civilians to leave areas where bombs will fall; and Israel also has said anyone remaining in those areas is presumed to be in cahoots with Hizballah.
Israel has said the fighting will end when Hizballah returns the two Israeli soldiers it abducted and is no longer able to fire rockets on civilian populations in Israel.
CAIR’s Hooper said President Bush should demand an immediate and unconditional cease-fire, end American arms shipments to Israel and actively support a comprehensive and just resolution to the Middle East conflict.

Important to Remember Who Started This, Bush Says

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

It was islamic terrorist who started the war between Israel and Lebanon. And don’t give me nonsense about “Occupation”. The only “occupiers” are the pali (a fake people) squatters occupying Israel’s Holy Land!

(CNSNews.com) – President Bush on Monday said it is important to remember that it was Hizballah’s “unprovoked attacks” on Israel that started the current fighting, which has taken a heavy toll on civilians in Lebanon.
“Israel is exercising its right to defend itself,” President Bush said in remarks in Miami.
Bush said he is watching the situation in the Middle East very closely, and he said Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is “urgently” working for a “sustainable ceasefire – a ceasefire that will last.”
President Bush said any U.N. resolution must end the violence — and “lay the groundwork for lasting peace in the Middle East.”
He said he mourns the loss of innocent life in both Lebanon and Israel. And he said the U.S. is determined to deliver humanitarian relief to civilians who are suffering.
Bush also made it clear what needs to happen for the fighting to stop:
“Lebanon’s democratic government must be empowered to exercise sole authority over its territory. A multi-national force must be dispatched to Lebanon quickly so we can help speed the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Lebanese people. Iran must end its financial support, its supply of weapons to terrorist groups like Hizballah. Syria must end its support for terror and respect the sovereignty of Lebanon.”
Bush said the world wants Hizballah to end its attacks on Israel and return the Israeli soldiers it abducted. Bush also said the world wants Israel to suspend its operations in Lebanon and eventually withdraw.
“The current crisis is part of a larger struggle between the forces of freedom and the forces of terror in the Middle East,” Bush said.
America opposes the forces of terror, he added, and is engaged in the long task of promoting democracy across the Middle East.

Senate Democrats Accused of Dousing Two Pro-Family Measures

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

And somehow this surprises people? Remember that Democrats are the party who’s only requirement for being a federal judge is upholding the unabridged right to kill babies. No matter how upset people are with president, deep down inside, most people cannot relate to the modern Democratic Party.

(AgapePress) – While their legislative maneuvering may be completely legit, Senate Democrats don’t seem to be going out of their way to make many friends among the pro-life, pro-family ranks.
One pro-life activist is cautioning his fellow advocates for life not to celebrate the passage of the Child Custody Protection Act (CCPA) too soon because Democrats have found a way to block it. The CCPA, passed last week by the U.S. Senate, makes it a federal offense to knowingly transport a minor across a state line for the purpose of an abortion in order to circumvent a state’s parental consent or notification law. The House had passed similar legislation before the Senate action.
Several pro-family groups have hailed passage of S. 403 as a major victory for families. But Doug Johnson of the National Right to Life Committee says the excitement of pro-life and pro-family groups is a bit premature. Why? Because within minutes after its passage, says Johnson, Senate Democrats blocked the bill.
According to Johnson, 14 Democratic senators voted to pass the bill, “but only minutes later the Democratic caucus collectively moved to kill the bill by objecting to the routine, necessary step of sending the bill to a conference committee,” Johnson says. As the NRLC official explains, the Democrats’ action snuck under the radar.
“As the news media reporters were all running to write their stories about the bill passing, there was a sneak attack by the Democratic leadership,” he says. “So the bill is currently blocked.”
Will the move be successful? Johnson says there is a chance it could be. “The bill has to go to a conference committee to iron out the final version and be sent to the president,” he explains. “And the abortion lobby and the senators that they’re working with — mostly Democrats — think that they can run out the clock because there’s only about five weeks left before adjournment in the Congressional session.”
Johnson says unless the 14 Democrats who voted for the bill buck their leaders, the bill will likely remain blocked.

Student Pro-Lifers Sue Arizona State, Alleging Unequal Treatment

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

A typical act from our education liberals who run American universities. Libs believe in freedom of speech, unless of course it doesn’t agree with them. Then it (free speech) must be stopped using any method possible.

(AgapePress) – Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe is being sued for allegedly infringing on the free-speech rights of pro-life students by ordering their group to obtain insurance for an exhibit the students wanted to display on the campus.
In December 2005, Arizona State University Students for Life submitted a request to display its exhibit, a comprehensive display designed by Justice for All that highlighted various aspects of the pro-life viewpoint. But after attempting to reserve several areas on campus in which to display their information, ASU administration officials told the group it would be restricted to just one location.
Then, university officials told the pro-life club it would have to pay two separate fees in order to display their exhibit — a $50 reservations fee, which the group had not been charged in the past, and a $300 fee to speak on campus. The group was also told it would need to submit a certificate of insurance.

ADF litigation counsel Heather Gebelin Hacker believes Arizona State University has singled out ASU Students for Life for discriminatory treatment. The school allows other groups, even some with a reputation for provocative demonstrations, to display on campus without burdening those groups with a lot of fees and restrictions, she notes, and once ASU even permitted PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) to erect a display that equated farm animal slaughter with the Holocaust.
“Clearly, that’s very controversial,” Hacker observes, “but, to my knowledge, they were not required to have insurance in that case.” While not sure of all the details of ASU’s dealings with groups like PETA, she says evidence “definitely shows that there have been many other controversial exhibits or controversial groups allowed on campus, and here they have applied this rule to a pro-life group, basically attempting to stifle their speech.”
Meanwhile, the ADF-affiliated lawyer asserts, ASU seems quite willing to accommodate the pro-abortion message on its campus. “This past school year there was a celebration of Roe v. Wade by the feminist group,” she notes, “so it’s a case of the university allowing one point of view and not the pro-life point of view on the subject. And we believe that’s a violation of the Constitution.”
Last week, ADF filed a lawsuit on behalf of ASU Students for Life. Hacker, who is representing the pro-lifers, says no other student groups were required to obtain insurance before sharing their messages. “Colleges and universities cannot treat pro-life students differently than they treat other students,” she insists. “Unfortunately, that’s exactly what Arizona State did.”
