Anglicans Get First HIV Positive Priest

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

The church of England has named its first HIV positive priest. As many as 30 Anglican priests have died of AIDS, but none have been knowingly appointed to the position of parish priest. This is proof that there is no end to the things satan will do in the name of the church. I realize the Anglican church is closely tied to the government in England, but it still bears the name of God and satan will use any tool to turn people away from God. There are so many things wrong with this story that it would take years to cover them all. One thing is for sure – satan may do whatever possible to make God out to be a loser, but in the end God wins and satan will be banished to hell where he belongs.

The Church of England has named a gay man with HIV as the priest of a parish in the London area.
Although as many as 30 Anglican priests in Britain have died of AIDS-related ailments in the last 15 years, none have been knowingly appointed to a pastoral position while HIV-positive, the Times of London reported Sunday.
The bishop who appointed the unnamed homosexual priest to the post, which the priest will occupy later this month, is known as a supporter of gay and lesbian rights.
The priest reportedly has vowed to remain celibate while in his pastoral role.

Christian Faces Trial Over Bible-Based Pamphlets

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

Pray that our courts and judicial system continue to have some sense of sanity left, or this could happen here in the U.S. as well.

(CNSNews.com) – Evangelical Christians in Britain are concerned about the prosecution of a protester who was arrested at a homosexuality rally while disseminating leaflets quoting the biblical view about homosexuality.

———-

Green was arrested after allegedly refusing to stop handing out pamphlets to people arriving at a “Mardi Gras” event in the Welsh capital.
The leaflets he was handing out were entitled “Same-sex love, same-sex sex: What does the Bible say?”
The text, which is available on the Christian Voice website, included verses from Leviticus in the Old Testament and Romans in the New Testament, characterizing homosexual acts as sinful.
It also contained a basic gospel message, including the promise of God’s forgiveness and eternal life for those who turn from their sins and “call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Reports in homosexual media described the leaflets as “offensive” and “anti-gay.”
Green was arrested by “Minorities Support Unit” of the South Wales Police. The force told London’s Daily Mail that he had been arrested because of the content of the leaflets, not because he had behaved in an aggressive or violent manner.
In a statement, Green said although homosexuals may be upset by his message, “should the police have a partisan unit whose job is to round up Christian dissidents, treat them like thought criminals and trample on freedom of speech?”

———-

Writing in the Daily Mail earlier, columnist Melanie Phillips wondered how long it would be before Christianity was outlawed in Britain.
“The Bible is the moral code that underpins our civilization. Yet the logic of the police action against Mr. Green surely leads ultimately to the inescapable conclusion that the Bible itself is ‘hate speech’ and must be banned.” (which is what the homosexual activist would love to see. -ed.)

“It’s Fascism — and It’s Islamic” by Victor Davis Hanson

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

George Bush recently declared that we are at war with “Islamic fascism.” Muslim-American groups were quick to express furor at the expression. Middle Eastern autocracies complained that it was provocative and insensitive.
Critics of the term chosen by the president, however, should remember what al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Hezbollah, Hamas and other extremist Muslim groups have said and done. Like the fascists of the 1930s, the leaders of these groups are authoritarians who brook no dissent in their efforts to impose a comprehensive system of submission upon the unwilling.

———-

Sharia law and dreams of pan-Islamic global rule fuel their ambitions. Once again, they seek to fool Western liberals through voicing a litany of perpetual hurts. Like the Nazis who whined about the Versailles Treaty that ended World War I, and alleged maltreatment of Germans in the Sudetenland, for years Islamists harped about American troops stationed in Saudi Arabia, the U.N. embargo of Iraq and the occupation of Gaza and Lebanon.
But when each complaint was settled, another louder one sprung up; these grievances, it turned out, were pretexts for a larger sense of victimhood, jealousy and lost pride. And appeasement — treating the first World Trade Center bombing as a mere criminal justice matter or virtually ignoring the attack on the USS Cole — only spurred on further aggression.
Islamic fascism is also anti-democratic and characteristically reactionary. It conjures up a past of Islamic influence that existed before the supposed corruption of modernism. Like Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo, who sought to recapture lost mythical Aryan, Roman or samurai purity, so Islamic fascists talk in romantic terms of the ancient caliphate.
Anti-Semitism is a tenet of fascism, then and now. But so is a generic hatred for unbelievers, homosexuals and blacks. The latter are slurred in the Arab media, while homosexuals were rounded up under the Taliban and the Iranian mullacracy.
“Mein Kampf” sells well under its translated title “Jihadi.” President Ahmadinejad recently suggested in a sympathetic letter to the German chancellor that the Holocaust was little more than an “alibi” used by the victors of World War II to keep the defeated down.
Even now, it is hard to distinguish the slurs against Jews (“pigs and apes”) used in the Middle Eastern media from the venom of Joseph Goebbels’ propaganda. Goose-stepping and stiff-armed salutes at Iranian and Hezbollah parades are conscious imitations of past fascist armies.

———-

The common denominators are extremist views of the Koran (thus the term Islamic), and the goal of seeing authoritarianism imposed at the state level by force (thus the notion of fascism). The pairing of the two words conveys a precise message: the old fascism is back, but now driven by a radical fundamentalist creed of Islam.

———-

The real problem is not that “Islamic fascism” is inaccurate or mean-spirited, but that this identification earns such vehement disdain in Europe and the United States. That hysteria may tell us as much about the state of a demoralized West as the term itself does about our increasingly emboldened enemies.

Five Years On

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

An excellent post on Bryan Preston’s blog “Hot Air”. Take a moment to read the whole thing.

Five years on, a psychosis has gripped millions who can’t and won’t fathom the true nature of the war we are in. For many of them, having been born and raised in an essentially post-Christian West, they can’t imagine that anyone might be motivated to kill and die because of something a warlord wrote down centuries ago. They cannot imagine any religion other than the one they believe they have outgrown being violent or causing violence. They cannot imagine anyone fighting for a cause that offers no material gains and therefore cannot be negotiated away. In our essentially materialist West, millions lack the imagination to believe that bin Laden’s pining for the return of Andalusia to Muslim rule is in his mind a legitimate reason to wage war on America now. They can imagine their own countrymen being so motivated, though, and I think that’s key to understanding their state of mind. They can imagine the Rotary Club member down the street plotting mayhem because he goes to church and votes Republican, but they can’t imagine that the Muslim in Karachi is a real, live enemy who is actually plotting an attack.
This lack of imagination has bred the anti-war madness we have now. Rather than accept the reality of an enemy that cannot and therefore will not negotiate away what he believes to be the will of God, and rather than accept that this enemy will understand nothing outside total victory or total defeat, and rather than understand that this enemy’s goals include enslaving the entire world in a global caliphate, and rather than accept that this reality necessitates the use of all tools including military might to defend ourselves, millions have embraced an alternate reality. The reality of the enemy outside the West and its motivations being too terrifying and too far beyond their own control, millions now imagine that the enemy in this war is within. The enemy, to them, isn’t the turbaned man behind the plot to hijack multiple airplanes and crash them into multiple buildings in America. The real enemy, to these millions, is the man in the Oval Office, and the man or men behind him.
