Chlorine Bombs Mark New Guerrilla Tactics

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

And as usual, al-Reuters refuses to call people who use weapons of mass destruction on innocent people “terrorist”. I have come to the conclusion that nothing these terrorist do will ever be horrible enough to get al-Reuters and the rest of the main stream media to brand them as the terrorist they are.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) – A top U.S. general said on Thursday insurgents (see what I mean? -ed) in Iraq were using crude chemical bombs in a new campaign to create instability, as U.S. and Iraqi forces stepped up a security crackdown in Baghdad.

Two bombs with chlorine gas have killed up to 11 people this week. The blasts, one in Baghdad and the other north of the capital, caused toxic fumes that have made scores more sick.

“What they’re trying to do is … adapt in such ways where they can continue to create instability,” Lieutenant-General Raymond Odierno, day-to-day commander of U.S. troops in Iraq, told reporters at the Pentagon in a live link-up.

“That’s what they’re doing, especially with these chlorine IEDs (improvised explosive devices),” he said, adding U.S. forces had found chlorine cylinders in a car bomb factory near the rebellious western city of Falluja on Tuesday.

Chlorine gas was used as a weapon in World War One but its use in guerrilla attacks in Iraq has particular resonance for Iraqis.
Saddam Hussein used chemical weapons on Kurdish areas in the 1980s during the Iran-Iraq war.

The Latest Laughable Comments from Pali Terrorist

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

First off, God has laid it on my heart that I should try to stop calling the Palestinians “Slimy Pali Terrorist”. So, I will try.

The pali terrorist (see, I didn’t use the word “slimy”) group, Hamas, is whining about the fact that the U.S. won’t release money to them. They can’t seem to understand why we won’t release money to them when they continue to say things like “the truce with the Israeli occupation is no longer valid”. They just don’t understand. Go figure.

GAZA (Reuters) – The Islamic militant group Hamas accused the United States on Thursday of trying to thwart European efforts to ease an economic blockade of a new Palestinian unity government.

The so-called Quartet of Middle East mediators, comprising the United States, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations, repeated a demand on Wednesday that any Palestinian government renounce violence, recognize Israel and accept interim peace deals.

Though the unity government fell short of directly meeting those demands, Western diplomats said the agreement between Hamas and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah faction widened divisions within the Quartet.

The United States and Israel want to continue to shun the unity government; Russia and some other European governments favor a softer line.

Hamas cabinet spokesman Ghazi Hamad said the group, which took control of the Palestinian government in March after winning parliamentary elections, was encouraged by what it called a “wait and see” approach by the Quartet.

Citing divisions between the United States and some European countries over policy, Hamad said: “I believe there is a possibility to change the Quartet’s position in a more positive manner to deal with the government.”

But Palestinian Information Minister Youssef Rizqa of Hamas said: “It (the United States) aims to undermine the European and Russian efforts in order to continue the siege imposed on our people.”

Israel pointed to statements by the Quartet after a meeting in Berlin as a sign that the group would hold the new government to the three conditions. “They’re not obstacles to peace, they are prerequisites for a successful peace process,” Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev said.

Of course then we have the aptly named al-Reuters blaming the situation on the United States’ refusal to release the funds. They, as usual, fail to draw any correlation between the rehtoric of the pali terrorist and their lack of funding. To put it simply, if they (the pali terrorist) would stop terror attacks on Israel, recognize Israel’s right to exist and just generally try to get along, the money would flow. But being pali terrorist, their minds just won’t go there. And having a group like al-Reuters and the rest of the main stream media to trumpet for you, just reinforces this type of thinking.

The U.S.-led boycott of the Hamas-led government has pushed the Palestinian Authority to the brink of financial collapse and raised poverty rates in the Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank. (occupied territory…I keep wondering when the pali occupiers are going to get out of Israeli territory. -ed)

A report by the U.N. World Food Program, released on Thursday, estimated that nearly half of Palestinians were unable to produce or access the food they needed.

Palestinians hope the coalition deal, which ended weeks of fighting between Hamas and Fatah in which more than 90 people died, can avert a Palestinian civil war.

Violence flared up briefly in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Thursday after a leader of the militant Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) was shot and killed by a Palestinian policeman.

Palestinian security sources said the shooting was accidental but a PRC spokesman said it was deliberate.

Members of the dead man’s family attacked a police station and forced the closure of shops in the downtown area but there appeared to be no connection between the incident and previous tensions between Hamas and Fatah.

The unity government agreement, which calmed weeks of factional warfare that killed more than 90 Palestinians, contained a vague promise to “respect” previous Israeli-Palestinian agreements.

But the pact did not directly commit the new government to renouncing violence or recognizing Israel.

But here is some more on why they are not getting the money.

Hamas’ military wing: Truce is over

Hamas’s Qassam Brigades have declared an end to a ceasefire with Israel, according to a statement released on Wednesday evening.

The call to end the truce appeared on Hamas’s official website , in both English and Arabic, and is the first time in months that Palestinian armed forces directly under the control of the Hamas government openly threatened to attack Israel . Abu Obaida, spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, said in the statement that “the truce with the Israeli occupation is no longer valid,” citing the “assassination of Islamic Jihad commander” Mahmoud Qassem as the reason.

Qassem was shot dead in the West Bank by Israeli Border Police on Tuesday, after security forces traced a foiled suicide bomb attack planned for Tel Aviv back to him.

In Hamas’ statement, Abu Obaida said: “This crime falls in line with a plan to liquidate Palestinian resistance in the West Bank in particular. The Zionist enemy continues to try to separate between the Bank and Gaza, and we will not accept that. The assassination in Jenin comes as part of an attempt to take out the Palestinian resistance, especially in the West Bank. We demanded from the start that the ceasefire must include the entire homeland and not be divided at the enemy’s discretion,” he said.

Abu Obaida called for Palestinian organizations to “unite” and “retaliate” against Israel, saying that “the time has come to restore the honor of the Palestinian resistance.” He added that the Qassam Brigades were “reorganizing their lines in the West Bank after sustaining painful strikes.”

Hamas’s terrorist cells were largely destroyed in the West Bank by IDF operations in response to a series of bomb attacks between 2001 and 2004, although Hamas remains the strongest armed force in Gaza.

Throughout the duration of the ‘truce,’ rockets launched from Gaza have continued to land in southern Israel, and security forces say they foiled many terrorist attacks aimed at targets within Israel.

The Hamas website also said that the Islamic Jihad Quds Brigades fired two “upgraded Quds missiles at Sderot and Majdal (Arabic for Ashkelon) as a premilinary retaliation to the assassination of Qassem,” on Wednesday.

A Fatah faction claimed it too fired rockets, targeting an IDF post. (they don’t want to fall behind in the pali terrorist fraternity. -ed)

It should be noted that the statement is not a formal announcement from the Hamas movement as a whole.

Naif Hawatma, director of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said on Wednesday that Hamas is involved and supportive of the political process. Hawatma said in an interview to Al-Halig, a United Arab Emirates newspaper, that Hamas is pushing with all its might for a political solution, that it is in contact with European officials and that it will soon reveal its commitment to the political process. (yeah right! -ed)

Episcopal Church Will Not Abandon Gays for Anglican Communion

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

The Episcopal Church leaders should try opening the Bible and using God’s Word to make their decisions. Their lack of dependence on God is causing their ‘church’ to become a mockery.

If the Episcopal Church had to choose between the Anglican Communion and not “abandoning” homosexual Christians, it would choose the latter, one bishop believes.

The Anglican Communion is asking its U.S. wing to clarify its stance on same-sex unions and the consecration of homosexuals by Sept. 30. Some Episcopal leaders who support homosexual ordination are suggesting that the church should leave the communion, saying the demands of the Communion amount to bigotry.

The Rt. Rev. Mark Sisk, bishop of New York, told Newsweek magazine that the Episcopal Church has not authorized the blessing of same-sex unions, which is one issue that the Anglican Communion has called for clarity by the U.S. body. The stance had not been made clear at the recent Primates meeting as the Anglican Communion had recognized that there are dioceses in America working towards the development of a public Rite of Blessing for same-sex unions.

The Anglican Communion has also called for affirmation that the Episcopal Church would not confirm a bishop who is in a same-sex union, which it had done in 2003.

“My own guess is that we would not respond positively to that request,” said Sisk.

U.N.: Iran Defies Deadline to Halt Atomic Development

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

(Sarcasm On) No kidding? Are you sure? You mean that even having the U.N. Security Council frowning at them and shaking useless resolutions at them was not enough to scare them into giving up their nuke bomb development? Why I can’t even imagine. (Sarcasm Off)
While we are all affixed to our televisions mesmerized by who will become the next American “Idol”, Iran continues to develop nuclear weapons and material. These weapons and materials are being developed to use on Israel and us. “Us”. That’s you and me. Hiding in your sub-division, watching “idol” and living in denial that the radical Muslim terrorist and rouge nations are not going to attack us is foolish at best. It could very well cost your life and your children’s lives in the very near future.
I know, you’re saying “Steve, you’ve really flipped out this time”. No I haven’t.
If you really think that Iran is not going to use these weapons, you are a fool. If you think that Iran is not going to share the nuclear material with terrorist groups, you are a fool. If you think that we are not going to be attacked by this country and these groups, you are a fool.
But by all means, let’s keep our “head buried in the sand” syndrome alive and well. Keep watching “Idol” and laughing when some pompous, arrogant Hollywood elitist, insults, debases and embarrasses people on international television. By all means, don’t take an interest in what is going on in Iran. “He’ll never hurt us” you claim. “Why would he want to hurt me anyway?” you ask.
Because you are an infidel and an American. And that’s the only reason he and his ilk need.

VIENNA (Reuters) – The U.N. nuclear watchdog declared on Thursday that Iran failed to meet a February 21 deadline to suspend uranium enrichment and Washington said major powers would meet next week to start writing a new Iran sanctions resolution.

By ignoring the deadline, Tehran reaffirmed its rejection of a mid-2006 offer by six world powers of talks on trade benefits provided it halted enrichment, a process that can yield nuclear power plant fuel or bombs.

The International Atomic Energy Agency said in a report Iran had installed two cascades, or networks, of 164 centrifuges in its underground Natanz enrichment plant with another two cascades close to completion.

That amounted to an effort to escalate research-level enrichment of nuclear fuel into “industrial scale” production.

“Iran has not suspended its enrichment-related activities,” said the confidential IAEA report, obtained by Reuters.

The U.N. Security Council imposed sanctions on Iran in a December 23 resolution that banned transfers of atomic technology and know-how to Iran. The resolution authorizes the council to take further measures if Iran flouted the deadline.

Additional penalties might include a travel ban on senior Iranian officials and restrictions on non-nuclear business.

UnderSecretary of State Nicholas Burns said he would travel to London on Monday for a meeting of the permanent five members of the U.N. Security Council and Germany to begin what could be a lengthy process of drafting a second sanctions resolution on Iran.

“We expect to see Iran repudiated again by the Security Council,” Burns said during an appearance at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace think tank in Washington.

The Islamic Republic, which says its nuclear fuel program is designed only to produce electricity, remained defiant.

“Regarding the suspension mentioned in the report, because such a demand has no legal basis and is against international treaties, naturally, it could not be accepted by Iran,” Mohammad Saeedi, deputy head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, told Reuters in Tehran.

He said the report showed the best way to resolve the dispute was to return to talks.

Analysts say harsher sanctions could face serious obstacles, as Russia, China and some EU powers prefer further dialogue with Iran to Washington’s push to isolate and punish.

The United States has built up aircraft carrier strike forces in the Gulf as a warning to Iran.

California’s Plan to Criminalize Spanking

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

We have posted about this before, but I just have to say again how ridiculous this is. There is a difference in spanking to discipline and beating. The Bible says “to spare the rod is to spoil the child” – that doesn’t mean that we are to beat our children. When a child’s disobedience is met with painful consequence (ie. spanking) he/she learns the Law of the Harvest (you reap what you sow). If more children were taught that you reap what you sow, then our jails would definitely be less crowded. I am constantly amazed at how the campaigning politicians say they want ‘less government’, but when elected they insist on sticking their noses where they don’t belong.

A leading state lawmaker in California has introduced a proposal that would classify parents who place a careful swat on the bottom of their little one, enthralled in the pursuit of excitement during the “terrible twos,” the same as a child abuse felon who beats a baby with an electrical cord.

Calling it “a bill to clarify and strengthen California law protecting children, especially infants and toddlers,” the sponsor, Assemblywoman Sally Lieber said “good parents have no reason for concern as a result of this legislation…”

Officials with the pro-family Campaign for Children and Families, however, said that may be an assumption by Lieber, a Democrat from Mountain View, but it won’t be fact if AB755 becomes law.

It would make a criminal of any mother or father who would use a switch to give their little one a paddling because of their behavior, CCF officials said.

U.K. Muslims: ‘Ban’ Un-Islamic Schools

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

The Muslims in the U.K. are attempting to force the Brits one step closer to installation of Muslim law. Now not only do they want their schools to teach hate and repression, they want all U.K. schools to do so. Of course, you won’t find that as an exchange of ideas. No way. They want their way of thinking taught forced on the schools, but never would they allow any Western influences to be taught in their schools. It’s a one way street for Muslims. It’s their way or else, and the or else is not a pleasant thing for non-Muslims. Islamic schools teach that all non-Muslims must be made to convert to Islam. If they don’t then they may be killed. Jews and Israel are completely evil and must be killed at any cost. Jihad (holy war) against the infidel (that all of us non-Muslims) must be waged at any cost. Their children are taught that giving their lives for jihad (and killing many infidels in the process) will grant them great things in heaven.
The potential for the repression of individual freedoms, found under Muslim law, is reprehensible. Women and children are treated as property with little or no input into the decisions influencing their daily lives. Woman can be beaten for no other reason then a man feeling like doing so. How completely subjective. In any other society, we would call this “spousal abuse”. But in Islam, it’s perfectly acceptable. Not only can a husband beat his wife, but it is acceptable for any male relative to do so. In some countries, it goes as far as any man being able to beat a woman. I will have to look for the link, but I remember several years ago, I read an account of a woman in Iran who lost her veil on a windy day. Several total strangers, men of course, began beating her with sticks, as she tried to retrieve it. She suffered massive bruises to her back and shoulders, four broken ribs and a broken collar bone. All this because the wind blew her veil off.
The point I’m trying to make here is that although the Muslims don’t act that way here in public, as this article will show, once they are allowed to make inroads or force change on your community, they will continue to use any method necessary to force their rules and laws on all the rest of us.
This is not a joke, folks. This is very real. We are seeing it more and more in Europe. It is only a matter of time before they try it here in the United States.

DEMANDS for a ban on “un-Islamic” activities in schools will be set out by the Muslim Council of Britain today.

Targets include playground games, swimming lessons, school plays, parents’ evenings and even vaccinations. And the calls for all children to be taught in Taliban-style conditions will be launched with the help of a senior Government education adviser.

Professor Tim Brighouse, chief adviser to London schools, was due to attend the event at the capital’s biggest mosque. His presence there was seen as “deeply worrying”, and a sign that the report was backed by the Government. Tory MP Greg Hands said: “The MCB needs to realise it has to move closer to the rest of the community, not away from it. “The presence of Tim Brighouse implies Government backing of this report. This is very worrying.”

Terry Sanderson of the National Secular Society said the report was a “recipe for disaster”. He added: “Schools with even just a handful of Muslim kids will find they have to follow these guidelines because there aren’t the staff to have one set of classes for Muslims and another for the rest. “The MCB shouldn’t try to force its religious agenda on children who may not want it. The Government needs to send the MCB packing. Schools should be about teaching, not preaching.”

The report, Towards Greater Understanding – Meeting The Needs of Muslim Pupils In State Schools, says all schools should bring in effective bans for all pupils on “un-Islamic activities” like dance classes. It also wants to limit certain activities during Ramadan. They include science lessons dealing with sex, parents’ evenings, exams and immunisation programmes. The holy month – when eating and drinking is not allowed in daylight hours – should also see a ban on swimming lessons in case pupils swallow water in
the pool. When swimming is allowed, boys should wear clothing covering their bodies “from the navel to the neck”, even during single-sex pool sessions, while girls must be covered up completely at all times, apart from the face and hands. The MCB adds that schools should ensure contact sports, including football and basketball, “are always in single-gender groups”. Even school trips are targeted in the report, which wants them all to be made single-sex “to encourage greater participation from Muslim pupils”. It wants Arabic language classes for Muslim pupils, and says the Koran should be recited in music classes. And all schools should ensure they have prayer rooms with washing facilities attached, it says. In art classes, Muslim children should not be allowed to draw people, as this is forbidden under some interpretations of Islamic law.

And while the MCB insists that all British children should learn about Islam, it wants Muslims to have the right to withdraw their children from RE lessons dealing with Christianity and other faiths. The MCB says special treatment and opt-outs are necessary because otherwise Muslim pupils will feel excluded from school activities and lessons.

The MCB claims to be the voice of Britain’s 1.5million Muslims and was heavily courted by politicians including Tony Blair following the September 11 attacks. Its former secretary-general Iqbal Sacranie was awarded a knighthood in 2005.

Christian Woman Stands Trial for Insulting Muhammad

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

Join me in praying for this woman. A Christian in Pakistan is just one step away from “dead person walking”. As I reviewed this case, I noticed just how little chance this woman has of surviving. Here are some of the facts:

  • Pakistan has a law (Article 295-C) which prescribes death as the penalty for “defiling Muhammad”.
  • This woman is accused by a Muslim woman with whom she had an argument. No one else heard her alleged “defilement” of Muhammad.
  • She was immediately forced into hiding in order to save her life from a mob that took what was said about her at face value, without even waiting to hear her side of the story or contemplate the idea that maybe the Muslim woman made it up in order to get the Christian woman in trouble.
  • Even now, the trail has been moved because the authorities are unable to guarantee that they can protect her from the mob long enough to come to trial.
  • If experience is to be believed, this woman will either be convicted and put to death, based on the testimony of one other person, or if not convicted, she will be murdered after she is freed. Justice is a farce in Pakistan. This is what Islamic law brings with it everywhere it goes.

CWNews.com –ISTANBUL, February 16 (Compass Direct News) – Pakistani officials have relocated the trial of a Christian woman accused of blaspheming Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, to prevent violent demonstrations tomorrow.

Judge Rao Abdel Jabar has agreed to preside over tomorrow’s blasphemy hearing against Martha Bibi Masih in the district capital of Kasur, 45 kilometers (28 miles) south of Lahore, defense lawyer Ezra Shujat said.

He told Compass the trial had been moved from Chunian, near Masih’s home village, because of the sensitive nature of the case.

Police arrested Masih in the early morning hours of January 23 after a violent mob stormed her house in the village of Kot Nanka Singh, the Center for Legal Aid Assistance and Settlement (CLAAS) reported.

The riot was prompted by claims that Masih made insulting remarks about Islam’s founder, Masih’s husband said in an interview with CLAAS the day of his wife’s arrest. Masih remains behind bars in Kasur’s district jail, while her husband and five children have gone into hiding to avoid a revenge attack, defense lawyer Shujat told Compass.

“They are afraid and worried now,” said Shujat, an activist with the All Pakistan Minorities Alliance. “They can’t work anywhere.”

Accusations of blasphemy can be volatile in Pakistan, where Article 295-C of the penal code prescribes death for anyone guilty of defiling Muhammad. Death sentences have always been overturned by higher courts, but at least 23 people suspected of blasphemy have been murdered.

Implying that tempers had not yet cooled in Masih’s hometown, police requested her case be transferred to Kasur to prevent a “law and order situation,” daily newspaper Dawn reported on February 8.

In a February 4 article, an officer told Reuters that police had immediately shifted Masih to Kasur because people in her area were “very furious.”

Masih’s husband said that accusations against his wife were false and stemmed from a quarrel with a Muslim neighbor. In a January 23 interview with CLAAS, Boota Masih explained how his wife had gone to a local mosque construction site on January 22 to retrieve materials that she had rented out to the builders.

“She requested the people present to go inside [the mosque] and get bamboo [sticks] and logs out for her,” Boota Masih said. “But nobody helped her.”

As a Christian, she could not enter the mosque, her defense lawyer said.

When Martha Masih asked a nearby shopkeeper to help her retrieve the materials, the woman refused, and the two exchanged harsh words, Boota Masih told CLAAS.

The shopkeeper later told her husband, Muhammad Ramzan, that Martha Masih had cursed Islam’s prophet during their argument. Ramzan spread word among his neighbors that the Christian woman had committed blasphemy and gathered a mob to march on Masih’s home at 10 p.m.

“We requested our neighbor, Muhammad Rashid Mughal, to hide us in his home, which he allowed,” Boota Masih said. The mob searched Masih’s home for two hours but dispersed after failing to find the alleged blasphemer.

More Americans Killed by Illegals Than By War in Iraq

    Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

For all you war protesters out there, here is a new cause to champion. Instead of protesting against our brave men and women who are serving in Iraq so that you can keep your right to free speech, why not start protesting our country’s immigration laws? It makes no sense to be so flippant about illegals coming to America especially since they are killing our people once they get here.

Illegal aliens are killing more Americans than the Iraq war, says a new report from Family Security Matters that estimates some 2,158 murders are committed every year by illegal aliens in the U.S. The group says that number is more than 15 percent of all the murders reported by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the U.S. and about three times the representation of illegal aliens in the general population.

Mike Cutler, a former senior special agent with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (the former INS), is a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and an advisor to Family Security Matters (FSM). He says the high number of Americans being killed by illegal aliens is just part of the collateral damage that comes with tolerating illegal immigration.

“The military actually called for the BORTAC team, … the elite unit of the Border Patrol, to be detailed to Iraq to help to secure the Iraqi border,” Cutler notes. “Now, if our military can understand that Iraq’s security depends in measure on the ability to protect its border against insurgents and terrorists, then why isn’t our country similarly protecting our own borders?” he asks.

“Science and Scripture” by Jack Kinsella

    Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

“Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?” (Job 41:1)

The Book of Job is generally the first place Christians turn when they want to see how best to stand up to the trials and tribulations of life. I once knew a pastor who counseled his congregation about patience.

He told them, “Before you pray for patience, read the Book of Job and find out how you get it, first.” Good advice. Patience is learning to trust God to see you safely through the rapids of life.

Being sinful, fallen creatures, it takes a couple of trips through the rapids to convince us, first. (In that sense, praying for patience is like praying for a slicker and a paddle.)

But the Book of Job is much more than a narrative about patience and reward. The Book of Job is rich with evidences of God’s Truth. In Job, God reveals much about science, nature, physics, astronomy and geography. Details that no single person living in the ancient times of Job could possibly know. Especially not someone living in the Middle Eastern desert.

For centuries, man believed that the earth was flat. Christopher Columbus was criticized for setting sail to the other side of the earth, they expected Columbus to sail off the edge of the earth.

But Job noted that “He walks above the circle of heaven”. (Job 22:14) The original Hebrew, using Roman characters, is, “Choq- chag `al- pney- mayim `ad-takliyt ‘owr `im- choshek.”

The word translated as circle comes from the Hebrew word “chuwg” which transliterates into English as ‘circuit’ or ‘sphere’ in addition to ‘circle’.

Early man thought Atlas, a huge turtle or elephants held up the earth. In the North sky within the millions of stars is a vast expanse of blackness.

Job 26:7 says the earth is suspended on nothing. The Bible was before the telescope so only God could describe it. Today we know it is gravity that holds the planets and stars in their orbits making them appears to be hung on nothing.

Job 28:25 says air has weight. Science confirms air is about 50 miles thick, exactly the right composition to support life. It’s perfect for our lungs. The air filters deadly rays. If the earth was 10% larger or smaller all would die. We are in a fragile balance before the sun between frying and freezing.

Job 26:10 says; “He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.” (KJV) The RSV translates it; “He has described a circle upon the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.”

In any case, it is clear Job knew the earth was round millennia before Columbus. Who told him?

Job 36:27:28 explains the hydrological cycle, the condensation and hydrology maintain life, provide evaporation, transportation, precipitation and run-off .

He describes the repeated cycle of precipitation, its evaporation, and condensation in the clouds.

In addition, Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 1:6; “The wind blows to the south and goes round to the north; round and round goes the wind, and on its circuits with wind returns.”

It took modern science to document the direction of wind currents and wind paths. Who told Job and Solomon?

About 4,000 years ago, Job says; “Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;” adding, “It is TURNED as clay to the seal.” (v14)

Job paints a word picture here using a clay pot on a potter’s wheel as an analogy.

Job 38:16 tells us there are springs in the sea (this was not known until 1913 when they found underground rivers). So who told Job?

Job 38:22 mentions the treasures of the snow. Each flake is of perfect dimensions and all are different. The snow is beneficial for nitrogen for fertilizer. How often do you think it snowed in southern Iraq where Job most likely lived?

Water is heavier than air, and is transported in clouds. “Dost thou know the balancing of the clouds, the wondrous works of Him who is perfect in knowledge?” (Job 37:16)

Job lived in the Middle East some four thousand years ago. The Book of Job, chronologically speaking, is the oldest Book of the Bible.

“Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it? The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.” (Job 38:29-30)

Who told Job about ice and snow? How did a guy living 4000 years ago in the Middle East know about the permanent polar ice caps, ‘hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen’? An Eskimo with wanderlust? What would a desert-bound nomad know about ‘the deep’ in the first place?

Job 38:31 explains the solar system. The Hebrew speaks of a pivot or hinge. In the South-Southwest is the Pleiades, 7 stars making up the center of the solar system.

Amos 5:8 says the Pleiades consists of 7 stars. The seventh star was only discovered in the last century because with the naked eye one can see only 6.

Some time back, a series of 14 human footprints with at least 134 dinosaur tracks were discovered in the bed of the Paluxy River, near Glen Rose, Texas. Bible-haters have come up with thousands of explanations, but one explanation is no more reasonable than another.

According to Job, there lived in his day, a beast he termed ‘behemoth’. It is described in Job 40:15-24 as “eating grass like an ox” that “moves his tail like a cedar” — the Hebrew literally says; “he lets hang his tail like a cedar.” “Its “bones are like beams of bronze . . . His ribs like bars of iron. . . “He is the first of the ways of God. . .” “He lies under the lotus trees,In a covert of reeds and marsh. . . ”

Some translations translate ‘behemoth’ as ‘elephant’ or ‘hippopotamus’. A key phrase is, “He is the first of the ways of God.” This phrase in the original Hebrew implied that behemoth was the biggest animal created.

Then there is leviathan. The Bible describes ‘leviathan’ in Job 41 this way:

“Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?” (41:1) “Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants? Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears?) (v6-7)

“None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before Me?” (v10)

Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about” (v14).

Sound like an elephant? Or a hippopotamus? Job describes the physical appearance of leviathan:

“His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.” (v15-16)

“Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.” (v19-21)

“When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.” (v25)

THIS is a pretty convincing description. The ‘mighty’ ‘purify’ themselves by reasons of ‘breakings’ at the sight of leviathan. (We have a phrase for that in English, too. And a product. It’s called “Depends”).

Every culture is filled with stories of fire-breathing dragons. The first dinosaur bones were discovered in 1822 by Mary Ann Mantell. (The word ‘dinosaur’ was coined in 1841)

If the ancients had never seen a dinosaur, where did the fire-breathing dragons of old come from? And if Job had never seen one, who told him about them 4000 years before the first bones were discovered? (Even if dinosaur bones were common in Job’s day, paleontologists were not.)

The Book of Job teaches a lot more than merely how to be patient and trust in the Lord. It teaches that an itinerant nomad in the middle of the Arabian desert knew more about science four thousand years ago than science knew at the dawn of the 20th century.

Although Job told us that light was in motion, (Job 38:19) it took Einstein before anybody believed it.

As noted, Job is the oldest Book in the Bible, penned before Moses wrote Genesis and set historically almost a thousand years earlier than the Exodus from Egypt.

Job didn’t have access to large collections of books about natural science, geography, climatology or physics.

Neither did he have access to the writings of the prophets or the promises of the New Testament. Job had never been taught of the Rapture, the Resurrection or of a coming Redeemer in the last days. But he knew.

Job confidently wrote, “For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the LATTER DAY UPON THE EARTH: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet IN MY FLESH shall I see God: Whom I shall see FOR MYSELF, and mine eyes shall behold, and NOT ANOTHER; though my reins be consumed within me.” (Job 19:25-27)

Who told Job all these things? The same One Who told you.

“For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.” (2 Peter 1:16)

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

“The New and Improved Mark of the Beast” by Todd Strandberg

    Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

The advancement of microchip technology has truly been amazing. In 1976, there were 6,500 transistors on a CPU microchip. Today, there are 233 million transistors on the latest Intel dual processor.

The same technological explosion that has made the internet possible has cleared the way for the mark of the beast to be deployed. Someday, the Antichrist will be able to control all financial transactions, right down to the point of sale. Everyone on earth will be required to receive a mark that will allow him or her to conduct business in the beast’s financial system.

In the late 1990s, a company call Applied Digital Solutions came along and generated a great deal of excitement in the prophetic community. The firm had developed VeriChip, a Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID,) designed to be injected into animals and humans. The rice-sized chip containes a 16-digit number that could be read with a hand-held scanning gun.

Despite all the fanfare, VeriChip never caught on with humans. Only about 200 people were ever implanted with the device. One of VeriChip’s main selling points–tagging children for their safety–is not workable because only a few police districts have the chip reader.

I often wondered how many Christians bought stock in Applied Digital Solutions thinking it would be a guaranteed way to get rich. It’s unlikely I’ll ever find out. People generally don’t like to talk about their investments that turned out to be big losers. If you take into consideration a 10-for-1 reserve split, the stock has gone from $100, to the current price of $1.75. Ouch!

I knew from the outset that VeriChip would never work in a voluntary environment. Most people are turned off by the idea of having an electronic device operating inside their body. Some folks probably fear it could read their thoughts or record their conversations.

The biggest problem was the needle that injected the chip under the skin. It was the size of a ten penny nail, which made insertion a lot more painful than the average flue shot. Revelation says that people will be required to have the mark in their right hand or forehead. I just can’t envision people getting jabbed in the head with a giant needle.

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name ” (Rev. 13:16-17).

A start-up company called Somark Innovations has announced that it has developed a method of tagging that does not involve a chip implant. The product is a RFID ink, which acts like a type of electronic tattoo.

The process involves a geometric array of micro-needles, and a reusable applicator, with a one-time-use ink capsule. It takes 5 to 10 seconds to ID an animal, and there is no need to remove the fur. The ink remains in the dermal layer, and a reader can detect it from four feet away.

Unless some unforeseen problem pops-up with the marking chemicals, from here on out, I think RFID ink will have to regarded as the front runner for the mark of the Beast. Most people will except the concept of a tattoo. Unlike the VeriChip, there is now a practical way to ID someone’s forehead, and the permanent nature of this technology matches the Bible’s prediction that once a person receives the mark, there is no going back.

Before we get to the final form of the mark of the Beast, there might be a few more technology improvements. With computers doubling in speed every couple of years, we are already beyond the requirements needed to establish a global, cashless community. At this stage, the only thing really missing is the political will to set the mark into motion.

Father Killed Family for Being Too Western

    Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

More muslim honor killings. This one in the U.K. I want each and every one of you to look at these beautiful children and tell me why they deserved to be burned to death in their own beds. OK folks, talk to me. I know I have a fairly large following of readers from Islamic Amsterdam. Jump right in here and explain to me how there is any justification for doing this. Oh yes, now I remember…all you have to do is open the Koran and there is all the justification this man needed.

    Riaz Family

A 49-year-old man murdered his wife and four daughters when he set fire to his home as they slept, an inquest heard.Caneze Riaz, 39, and daughters Sayrah, Sophia, Alicia and Hannah were trapped as the fire swept through their house in Accrington, Lancashire, last year.

Mohammed Riaz suffered 65% burns in the blaze and died two days later.

Blackburn coroner Michael Singleton recorded verdicts of unlawful killing for Mrs Riaz and her daughters and a verdict of suicide for Mr Riaz. Post-mortem examinations found that Mrs Riaz and her daughters – Sayrah, 16, Sophia, 12, Alicia, 10, and three-year-old Hannah – died from smoke inhalation.

Relatives and friends of the family told police a rift had developed between Mr and Mrs Riaz, the inquest heard. Mr Riaz, a conservative Muslim, disagreed with his wife over her determination to bring up their children with Western lifestyles.

Det Supt Mick Gradwell, of Lancashire Police, told the inquest there was no doubt Mr Riaz intended to kill his family.

The doors of the house were locked from the inside. Senior fire investigator Stephen Kennedy agreed, telling the inquest the fire was “most likely” to have been started deliberately. Mr Riaz poured petrol and accelerant along the first floor landing, down the stairs and into the living rooms. The fire started in three places upstairs, and was focused in the doorway of Mrs Riaz’s bedroom, where she was asleep with Hannah.

All of the Riaz girls died as they slept in their beds.

The inquest heard that her DNA was found on a petrol can at the back of the bedroom, suggesting she woke up and tried to move it before being overcome by fumes.

Her body was found next to the bed, beside the can and the bed where the body of Hannah lay. The other girls were found in their beds.

Recording his verdicts, Mr Singleton said: “With respect to the four girls and Mrs Caneze I am satisfied that the injury that caused their deaths was the inhalation of the products of combustion.”

Referring to Mr Riaz, he said his cause of death was severe burns and the inhalation of the products of combustion.

    Family ‘satisfied’

He said: “I am satisfied that on November 1, 2006, while at his home address, Mohammed Riaz started a fire at those premises, making no attempt to leave. “I am satisfied from the evidence I have heard, and beyond reasonable doubt, that in acting in the way he did Mohammed intended to bring about his own demise and he killed himself.”

Speaking after the hearing, Barry Khanan, Mrs Riaz’s brother, said he was pleased with the inquest outcome. “I am glad that this is now over and we can move forward,” he said.

Mr Gradwell said outside the court that had Mr Riaz lived he would have been prosecuted for murder. “I am confident we would have got a conviction,” he said.

Jefferson Advocated ‘Gate’ Between Church and State

    Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

I have been saying for years now, that Jefferson’s words were being perverted to say things they were not meant to say, in order to advance the agenda of people attempting to wipe Christianity, not only from the “public square”, but from the United States completely. After you read this post, take a moment to read my article What Does the U.S. Constitution Actually Say About Religion?

Thomas Jefferson, credited with penning the famous “wall of separation between Church and State” on which many secular organization have rested their hopes of eliminating Christianity from the public square, actually believed in a “gate” allowing free passage between the two, according to a researcher who’s reviewed Library of Congress documents.

How else, asked Todd DuBord, senior pastor at Lake Almanor Community Church, could Jefferson as president in 1803 recommended a treaty with the Kaskaskia Indians in which U.S. taxpayers promised to pay $100 a year for seven years “for the support of a [Catholic] priest …” and made a commitment that “the United States will further give the sum of three hundred dollars to assist the said tribe in the erection of a church…”

And how else could Jefferson, as president, have held Christian church services in the executive branch buildings, the U.S. House of Representatives, and even the U.S. Supreme Court chambers? he asked.

“I used to believe in ‘a wall of separation between Church and State,'” DuBord wrote in a compilation of his research prepared for his church website. “After researching the religion and politics of Thomas Jefferson in the Library of Congress, I now understand that barrier was a gate Jefferson would often pass through.”

    ———-

He noted that on his recent trip, a tour guide, although “cordial and informative about many matters,” became abrupt and even a little “arrogant” when asked about Jefferson’s faith.

“We all know Jefferson was a strict deist, who ardently fought for the separation of Church and State,” the guide announced at the historic site run by the private, nonprofit Thomas Jefferson Foundation, DuBord said.

But DuBord said his research actually supports the concept that Jefferson was more religious than most people know, and “used both his government positions and even funds on occasion to establish churches, distribute biblical information, and promote Christianity.”

“As a result, I am again respectfully requesting that a fuller view of Thomas Jefferson and his intermingling of government and religion (specifically Christianity) be reinvestigated and reintroduced into the Monticello tour guides’ information and education,” he said in his newest request.

Near the end of his life, Jefferson said in letters to Dr. Benjamin Waterhouse, on June 26, 1822; to William Canby, on Sept. 18, 1813; and to Charles Thomson, on Jan. 9, 1816, that:

The doctrines of Jesus are simple, and tend to all the happiness of man…

Of all the systems of morality, ancient or modern which have come under my observation, none appears to me so pure as that of Jesus…

I am a real Christian, that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus.

DuBord explained his research convinced him that Jefferson was opposed to the “tyranny and corruptions” of Christianity, but not to the teachings of Jesus himself. In a letter to Dr. Benjamin Rush, he said, “I am a Christian, in the only sense he wished any to be; sincerely attached to his doctrines, in preference to all others.”

DuBord concluded that Jefferson probably was not an evangelical Christian, and probably wasn’t orthodox in most of his doctrine, but he certainly was not “a dogmatic deist with a secular progressive agenda to rid religion (specifically Christianity) from government, as he is often conveyed, even by our tour guide at Jefferson’s estate, Monticello, in July of 2006.”

DuBord said the background from which Jefferson came is important to understanding his dislike of the “business” of Christianity. England had a state-supported church and in Virginia, Jefferson’s home, the Church of England also was funded by taxes.

In his “Notes” from the Library of Congress, it says Jefferson also was exposed to the religious intolerance of the anti-Quaker laws, and suffered the opposition of some church leaders during his presidential campaign.

A friend once noted of Jefferson that he didn’t oppose Christianity, just the “tyranny” different sects imposed on people.

It is within those parameters then, that he wrote to the Danbury Baptist Association in Connecticut, whose members expressed concern he would endorse a state church:

Believing with youth that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative power of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should ‘make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,’ thus building a wall of separation between Church and State.

DuBord said those words were written in reaction and possibly retaliation to the verbal attacks he’d endured from clergy. In another letter he called them an “irritable tribe of priests.”

But when he was called on to express his beliefs, such as in recommending a seal for the U.S., Jefferson first suggested one that reflected the “children of Israel in the Wilderness, led by a Cloud by Day, and Pillar of Fire by night…” DuBord found.

Does such a symbol, he asked, “seem like they could come from those who are ardently in favor of the separation of Church and State?” And from a man, who two days after writing the letter to the Danbury Baptists, would attend a worship service inside the U.S. House of Representatives?

Terror Called ‘Product’ of Arab Society

    Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

This article appeared back in June of 2006 and I wanted to take a moment to revisit it. It is only by understanding that violence, and from that terror, are taught and ingrained into the very “fabric” of these societies.
The typical Muslim is taught that everyone who is not Muslim is a second class person. These “lower class” individuals are worthy of one of several actions. If the non-Muslim refuses to convert to Islam, they can be put to death, or live as a heavily taxed “second class” citizen of the Muslim community, living in close proximity, but never a part of it.
We Westerners have a really hard time realizing that Muslims, Arabs in particular, do not hold to the same value system we do. Even the most ardent atheist typically will hold to at least part of the Judeo-Christian value system. This value system of the Muslim is not the same as the Judeo-Christian. It’s really not even close.
Although we have degraded ourselves in recent times, most Westerners still hold to the value of human life. But the Muslim sees human life quite differently.

In stark contrast to the Arab world’s many defenders of jihad, a member of Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council says terrorism is the product of a flaw in Arab-Muslim culture in which “the other” does not deserve to live.

Translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI, a May 23 broadcast on Saudi TV’s Channel 1 has the interviewer asking Saudi Shura Council member Ibrahim Al-Buleihi the following: “Some elements in Arab and Muslim societies have intensified the hostility towards Arabs and Muslims, through their acts of violence and terrorism, to the point that we see images of slaughtering the other – American or European – live on TV.”

    Al-Buleihi responded:

In my opinion, we should not describe these people as deviant. This is the product of our culture. …

They are the product of a culture that believes the other does not deserve to live, and is an absolute enemy with whom no understanding is possible. …

There is a fundamental flaw in our culture that leads to this behavior. This ideology, which was advocated by Sayyid Qutb [a 20th century Egyptian intellectual associated with the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood], and which is implemented by those who kill innocent people – women, children, and people who have done nothing wrong – did not emerge out of thin air, but is the product of this culture. This is a one-dimensional culture, a culture of tyranny – tyranny in culture, in politics, in society, in the family, and in everything.

The “other” does not have to be someone completely different. When we disagree with someone, even over a shoe-shine, we regard him as the “other,” we boycott him, we excommunicate him, defame him, level accusations at him, and so on.

Saudi Journalist was Taught Supreme Being ‘Punishes and Never Forgives’

    Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

From my research into the Koran, I found the comment this Saudi journalist makes to be true.
The Koran is full of “Allah is merciful”, and yet in the same sentence, it spells out how vengeful and punishing he would be for some infraction. It also occurred to me as I read, that the “benchmarks” or rules, that one could follow to achieve “forgiveness”, changed almost by the page. Sometimes it was fine to take things from someone, other times it was not. Sometimes it was acceptable to kill someone, other times it was not. As I made a “list” of the “rules” of Islam, it became apparent to me that they changed, the further I read into the Koran.
The Bible teaches that God is unchanging. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. If the god of the Koran is the same God of the Bible, why would this unchanging god change so much?
The answer is: The God of Bible is not the god of Koran. They are completely different entities.
I have my suspicions of who the god of Koran may be. But there is no doubt of who he isn’t. He isn’t the God of the Bible.

In a recent TV interview, a Saudi author and journalist offered a glimpse into the pressures and conditioning children in Saudi society must face.

According to the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI, journalist Hani Naqashbandi made the following comments Feb. 6 during an appearance on Future TV, a Lebanese show:

Hani Naqashbandi: I grew up in a society that taught me Allah is a tormentor.

    Interviewer: A tormentor?

Hani Naqashbandi: In the full sense of the word. It taught me that Allah punishes and never forgives. He punishes, punishes, and punishes, and only eventually will decide whether to forgive you or not.

Interviewer: I feel like running away…

Hani Naqashbandi: Let’s leave together. Allah describes himself as compassionate and merciful, in all religions. Allah represents, first and foremost, love. We did not learn that Allah is love, we learned, from childhood. … To this day, I hate milk, because my mother would say: “Drink your milk, or else Allah will be mad at you.” She didn’t say Allah loves me. Let him love me first.

Churches Back Plan to Unite Under Pope

    Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Wow, lots of end time events in the news today. I was lamenting to Beth yesterday how little news there was of interest to us (the main stream media has spent almost 24/7 coverage on Anna Nicole Smith’s death, of which I could care less), and then today, out comes all kinds of neat things to blog about.
This article is interesting to me because in end times events, one major event will the creation of a one world religion. As the Anglicans with the Roman Catholic Church discuss coming together under the leadership of the Pope, I can see this as one more step towards the one world religion.
“Steve”, y’all say, “That’s a pretty far stretch, don’t ya think”?
But think about it. You have two similar but very distinct groups who have not been able to find common ground on this issue for hundreds of years. Now, suddenly, they can not only find common ground, but are actively seeking reunification.
The timing is nothing less than spectacular. How anyone can look at what is happening in the world today, compare it to the Bible and not see the correlation is beyond me.
I really think y’all need to be picking up your Bibles and reading them.

LONDON: Proposals to re-unite the Anglicans with the Roman Catholic Church under the leadership of the Pope is
under consideration of the Vatican even as senior bishops of the two churches broadly agree to it, media reported on Monday.

In a 42-page statement prepared by an international commission of both churches, Anglicans and Roman Catholics are urged to explore how they might reunite under the Pope. The statement, leaked to the Times, is being considered by the Vatican, where Catholic bishops are preparing a formal response.

Titled ‘Growing Together in Unity and Mission’, the report notes that there is an “imperfect communion” between the two churches, but declares there is sufficient common ground to make its “call for action”.

“The Roman Catholic Church teaches that the ministry of the Bishop of Rome (the Pope) as universal primate is in accordance with Christ’s will for the Church and an essential element of maintaining it in unity and truth,” the report said.

The proposals also address the need for special “protocols” to be put in place to deal with the movement of clergy from one church to another. It urges Anglicans to pray for the pope during inter-cessionary prayers while in church, and for Catholics to pray for the archbishop of Canterbury the leader of the world’s Anglicans in public.

The commission was set up in 2000 to find a way to move towards unity through “common life and mission” and is chaired by the Right Rev David Beetge, an Anglican bishop from South Africa, and the Most Rev John Bathersby, the Catholic Archbishop of Brisbane.

It comes as the archbishops who lead the 38 provinces of the Anglican communion meet in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in an attempt to avoid schism over gay ordination and other liberal doctrines that have taken hold in parts of the Western Church.

Edwards: Israel “Greatest Short-term Threat to World Peace”; Backpedals

    Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Presidential hopeful, John Edwards, stepped in it big time, as reported by Variety columnist, Peter Bart. At a reception in Hollywood, Edwards made the comment “Perhaps the greatest short-term threat to world peace, was the possibility that Israel would bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities.”
Notice that it’s Israel’s fault, in Edward’s opinion, that Iran is developing nuclear weapons. NRO’s “The Hillary Spot” reporter Jim Geraghty commented “Really? Israel is the biggest threat? Not Ahmedinijad? Not al-Qaeda? Not a coup attempt in Pakistan? Not a complete breakdown in Iraq drawing in the Saudis, Turks, and Iranians?” How true.
The variety article goes on to comment on Israel and her popularity with the world. What Mr. Bart goes on to say is no surprise to me (since I’ve actually read the Bible) and, although I’m not an expert on end times events as predicted in the Bible, I do have a small understanding of them and I can see this as a further fulfillment of Ezekiel 39.
Mr. Bart stated “Support for Israel in the U.S. has lately become bafflingly multi-cultural, representing an alliance between diaspora Jews, traditional Zionists and evangelicals. Support from Christian zealots, who now represent about one third of Israel’s tourist business, is welcomed even though, according to evangelical doctrine, Judgment Day will bring the ultimate destruction of Israel and death to most of its residents.
The Economist observed this week that “knee jerk defensiveness” of Israel ultimately will erode support for that country around the world, even among Jews. Only 17% of American Jews today regard themselves as “pro-Zionist,” the magazine points out, and only 57% say that “caring about Israel is a very important part of being Jewish.” And Jimmy Carter only exacerbates these mixed signals with his recent perorations that Israel must “give back” territories to the Palestinians.
Given that the Christian Right and neo-conservatives in this country seem more obsessed with Israel than the Jewish community, the “I” word is becoming a potentially lethal component of today’s political dialogue.

As the United States and the world at large continues to pressure Israel to give up land, while pali terrorist continue to try to kill large numbers of innocent Israeli civilians, the “government” of pali-land, made completely up by terrorist, hardly commits to even “respect” previous agreements, let alone actually purse peace, while Iran and Syria continue to work together in order to destroy Israel, I see the fuse on the powder keg of the Middle East growing shorter and shorter. It’s only a matter a time before it blows.
The Bible tells us that Israel will stand alone against a huge alliance of nations and groups who will attempt to wipe her from the face of the earth, once and for all. But the Bible also tells us that Israel is never truly alone. As God’s chosen people, Israel will watch as God Himself destroys this threat.
Interesting times are coming this old world of ours. I hope y’all are ready. If you’re not, I recommend picking up a Bible and truly trying to understand what it is trying to tell you.
Oh yeah, at least Edwards was consistent. He gave us the typical “that not what I meant” mantra. You can read his backpedal here.

    More End Times Indicators

    Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

I can see where this could figure into end time alliances quite readily.

Russia is poised to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) signed by Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and U.S. President Ronald Reagan in December 1987. The treaty prohibits development and deployment of all land-based short-, medium- and intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBMs) with ranges of 300 to 3,400 miles, as well as all ground-launched cruise missiles.
Inspections verifying the treaty were completed in 2001, although elimination was effectively concluded nearly a decade earlier.

Christians, keep the faith. Keep looking up.

House To Vote on ‘Hate Crimes’ Giving Homosexuals Special Rights

    Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

The U.S. House of Representatives will soon vote on HR 254, which establishes “hate crime” legislation. HR 254 will create new special rights for homosexuals under the guise of enhancing law enforcement. It would make “sexual orientation” a protected class alongside race, religion and gender.

The only way this bill can be defeated is with a real grassroots uprising by those who care about the future of their children, families and marriages!

The intent of this law is to force the acceptance and approval of homosexuality on every American, regardless of their religious views. Here is a short summary of HR 254.

For a more in-depth review of where we are headed, click here.

Here is a partial list of what homosexual activists are trying to force on every American. While HR 254 will not, in and of itself, accomplish these goals, it will open the door to such regulations. Once the elephant gets its trunk under the tent, the way is open for the elephant to move inside and do whatever he wants.

  • Preaching that homosexuality is a sin from the pulpit will result in the preacher being charged with “hate speech.”
  • Churches will have their tax-exempt status revoked if they oppose homosexuality.
  • Homosexual marriage will be legalized and recognized in all states.
  • Polygamy will be legalized.
  • Landlords will be forced to rent to homosexuals.
  • Scouts, and all non-profit organizations, will be required to hire homosexuals as leaders.
  • Biblical language used to define homosexuality will be considered “hate speech.” City officials have already had a billboard removed in Long Island, NY, because it was classified as “hate speech.” The billboard read: “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination.” (Leviticus 20:13)
  • Employees will not be allowed to say anything negative about homosexuality in their workplaces.
  • Classes promoting the homosexual lifestyle will be included in school curricula beginning with the lower grades.
  • Employers will be forced to hire homosexuals.
  • Adoption by homosexuals will be legalized in every state.
  • To read HR 254, click here.

Let me say again: HR 254 will not, in and of itself, accomplish everything the homosexual activist’s desire. But it is the first step is to position their cause where they can achieve all their goals.

If they are successful with HR 254, rest assured they will pursue their next goal and will not stop until they achieve all their goals.

Female Pakistani Minister Shot Dead for Refusing to Wear Veil

    Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

The poster child religion of peace and tolerance, aka islam, has once again shown it true colors by doing what they do best, killing and destroying. What hideous crime did Zilla Huma Usman, the minister for social welfare in Punjab province, commit??
She refused to wear a veil. This supposed “insult” to the so-called honor of the supposed most peaceful and tolerant religion of islam was enough to get Ms. Usman shot and killed.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by this. Islam continues to show it’s real colors as the apologist and the main stream media contort themselves into impossible positions in order to keep from ever stating this obvious connection.

A Pakistani minister and woman’s activist was shot dead Tuesday by an Islamic extremist for refusing to wear the veil.

Zilla Huma Usman, the minister for social welfare in Punjab province and an ally of President Pervez Musharraf, was killed as she was about to deliver a speech to dozens of party activists, by a “fanatic”, who believed that she was dressed inappropriately and that women should not be involved in politics, officials said.

Usman, 35, was wearing the shalwar kameez worn by many professional women in Pakistan, but did not cover her head.

The attack happened in Gujranwala, 120 miles southeast of Islamabad, where the minister’s office is based. As Usman, 35, stepped out of her car – where she was greeted by her co-workers throwing rose petals – the attacker pulled out a pistol and fired a single shot at close range, hitting her in the head. She was airlifted to hospital in the provincial capital Lahore, but died soon afterwards.

Here’s a lesson for all of you who say that an unborn fetus is not a baby. The pro-choice crowd would have us all believe that life does not begin at conception, but this pretty much shows the ignorance in that argument.

MIAMI (AP) — A premature baby that doctors say spent less time in the womb than any other surviving infant is to be released from a Florida hospital Tuesday.
Amillia Sonja Taylor was just 9 1/2 inches long and weighed less than 10 ounces when she was born Oct. 24. She was delivered 21 weeks and six days after conception. Full-term births come after 37 to 40 weeks.

“We weren’t too optimistic,” Dr. William Smalling said Monday. “But she proved us all wrong.”

Neonatologists who cared for Amillia say she is the first baby known to survive after a gestation period of fewer than 23 weeks. A database run by the University of Iowa’s Department of Pediatrics lists seven babies born at 23 weeks between 1994 and 2003.

Amillia has experienced respiratory problems, a very mild brain hemorrhage and some digestive problems, but none of the health concerns are expected to pose long-term problems, her doctors said.

“We can deal with lungs and things like that but, of course, the brain is the most important,” Dr. Paul Fassbach said Monday. “But her prognosis is excellent.”

Amillia has been in an incubator since birth and has been receiving oxygen. She will continue getting a small amount of oxygen, and her breathing will be monitored once she leaves Baptist Children’s Hospital. She now is between 25 and 26 inches long and weighs 4 1/2 pounds.

“She’s going to be in a normal crib, she’s going to have normal feedings, she’s taking all her feedings from a bottle,” Smalling said.
