Psalm 119:65-72 (New International Version)

ט Teth

65 Do good to your servant
according to your word, O LORD.

66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
for I believe in your commands.

67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I obey your word.

68 You are good, and what you do is good;
teach me your decrees.

69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,
I keep your precepts with all my heart.

70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,
but I delight in your law.

71 It was good for me to be afflicted
so that I might learn your decrees.

72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

It’s Back: ‘Hate Crimes’ Bill Reintroduced

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Satan, using the democrats as his mouthpiece, is attempting to silence Christians in regards to speaking out on homosexuality. I guess if they pass this bill, my future posts will have to come from a jail cell, because I will not stop speaking the truth about what the Bible says about the sin of homosexuality. Period.
Please take the time to contact your congress person and senator about not supporting this bill. I promise you, it will be used to silence Christians on the homosexual issue.

( – Liberals call it a “hate crimes prevention” bill, but conservatives denounce it as “anti-Christian” legislation.

Whatever you call it, the bill is back — reintroduced by Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) on Tuesday. Liberals are pressing for passage, and conservatives are pressing President Bush to veto the bill if it reaches his desk.

“If there was ever a bill which needed to be vetoed — this is it,” said Traditional Values Coalition Executive Director Andrea Lafferty.

“Most Christians might as well rip the pages which condemn homosexuality right out of their Bibles because this bill will make it illegal to publicly express the dictates of their religious beliefs.”

Lafferty and other conservatives argue that the bill will “elevate homosexuality” — a type of behavior, they stipulate — to the same level as race and other characteristics that can’t be changed.

“The fact is that Conyers’ so-called hate crimes bill is a fraud, designed for only one purpose: to add homosexuals, cross-dressers, drag queens and transsexuals to the ranks of federally protected minority groups,” TVC said.

But a homosexual advocacy group — named after murdered homosexual Matthew Shepard — applauded the reintroduction of the hate crimes bill, calling it an “appropriate and measured response to the unrelenting and under-addressed problem of violent hate crimes committed against individuals based on their actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and disability.”

Judy Shepard, executive director of the Matthew Shepard Foundation and Matthew’s mother, said it’s time the federal government expanded its definition of “hate crimes” to include those motivated by hatred of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) individuals.

She said the investigation of Matthew’s murder and the trial of his killers cost Albany County, Wyo., more than $150,000. But if the hate crimes law had been in existence then, she suggested that the federal government would have been able to pick up the financial burden, sparing the local sheriff’s department the need to furlough five of its employees.

“Since Matthew was killed in 1998 for being gay, almost 10,000 violent acts of hate against individuals based on their sexual orientation have been reported to the authorities,” Shepard said.

“Whether it is for Matthew or for the victims of the thousands of other violent hate crimes that have taken place over the years, I urge the GLBT community and its allies to make the passage of this bill a top priority.”

The Traditional Values Coalition argues that there is no “epidemic” of hate crimes as some activists want Americans to believe: The group points to the FBI’s 2005 “hate crimes” statistics, which show that one-third of the cases of so-called “sexual orientation” bias were nothing more than name-calling.

“The ultimate objective of this legislation is to claim that ‘hate speech’ — criticism of homosexuality — incites individuals to violence and must be suppressed and punished. This will violate the First Amendment rights of any person or group that opposes the normalization of homosexuality in our culture,” TVC’s Lafferty said.

Olmert Continues to Give Away Everything

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

This has to be so frustrating to the average Israeli. Prime Minister Olmert continues to give away huge pieces of Israel in pursuit of a peace that’s never going to happen. Did the government of Israel learn nothing from what happened in Gaza? Do they not see how they not only rewarded terrorist, but gave the whole Arab word a shot in the arm concerning their plans for the annihilation of Israel? Olmert is dragging Israel toward it’s own suicide.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Thursday that Israel was willing to make “sweeping, painful and tough concessions” to encourage dialogue with its enemies.

Olmert also said a dormant Saudi Arabian plan for a comprehensive Mideast peace could be a “convenient basis” for contacts between Israel and Arab moderates. (arab moderate? where does one find one of these mythical creatures? -ed.)

The Saudi plan calls for full diplomatic relations between the entire Arab world and Israel in exchange for full Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank and east Jerusalem.

Israel rejected it outright when it was first proposed in 2002, and hardened its opposition after the Arab League tacked on an addendum endorsing the right of Palestinian refugees and their descendants to return to homes in Israel.

But with recent meetings between Olmert and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas yielding sparse results, Israel has begun showing tentative interest in the plan. Arab countries are expected to revive the proposal at a summit later this month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Is John Edwards a Hypocrite When It Comes To Climate?

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Al Gore and John Edwards have no problem telling “commoners” how to conserve energy and ‘get green’, but do they practice what they preach? Apparently not. Is it just me or is everyone else sick of hearing about Al Gore and his ‘Inconvenient Truth’? The truth is that global warming is a ‘convenient lie’ that has made Al Gore even more wealthy than he was before. He has scared the public into thinking that everything we do is killing the environment, while the actual climate experts say it is not true.

A global warming skeptic says Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards is being hypocritical by urging Americans to cut back on energy consumption while he’s building a house that’s larger than most elementary schools.

Former North Carolina senator John Edwards has vowed that his presidential campaign will be “carbon neutral.” In addition, he is pushing for a national ceiling on CO2 emissions to fight global warming. Edwards also recently told, “I think that Jesus would be disappointed in our ignoring the plight of those around us who are suffering and focus on our own selfish, short-term needs.”

Meanwhile, Edwards is building a 28,000-square-foot house on a 102-acre estate in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, according to George Landrith, president of the Frontiers of Freedom Institute. He says Edwards is just one of many politicians living lives of opulence while telling everyone else they should not be using energy.

“We saw that several weeks ago with Al Gore,” he says. “You know, he uses in a single month more [energy] than most of us use in a year … at one of his homes; that doesn’t even count the other homes that he owns — all while telling us that he’s buying ‘carbon credits,’ which I think basically means ‘I’m rich, so I can pay to not feel guilty about the fact that I’m wasting lots of energy.’ That’s fiction.”

Romney’s Campaign Suffering Because He is a Mormon

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

A former Democratic insider says it’s becoming increasingly apparent Mitt Romney’s GOP presidential campaign is not getting traction — in large part, he contends, because voters are uncomfortable with the fact that the former Massachusetts governor is a Mormon.

Former Clinton advisor Dick Morris stated in a recent column for that Romney is “too Mormon” to get the Republican nomination or even get the nod from the “right wing” of the party. “It shouldn’t be an issue, but it is,” he wrote.

Political analyst Keith Thompson says he saw a survey that asked that key question: Could you vote for a Mormon?

“And the figures were yes,” says Thompson, “but they were low; they were in the 50s or the 60s.” He believes Romney’s affiliation with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is going to continue to be an issue in the campaign — “and you don’t need that [in a presidential campaign],” says the analyst.

But Thompson says Romney’s candidacy is actually arousing the curiosity of many church goers and calling attention to the differences between Mormonism and Christianity.

Expert Calls Gore’s Testimony ‘Completely False’

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

What makes Al Gore a climate expert? That is a question we would all like the answer to. The real experts continue to hold to their position that he is full of hot air.

A former Sierra Club member says Al Gore was promoting science fiction during his testimony on Capitol Hill about global warming. In addition, he contends the former vice president’s proposals to fight global warming would raise energy prices and severely hinder the U.S. economy.

Today Gore urged Congress to take action against what he called the “planetary emergency” caused by global warming. He told lawmakers that “the Earth has a fever” and that a climate crisis “threatens the survival of our civilization and the habitability of the Earth.”

Paul Driessen — a senior policy advisor for the Congress of Racial Equality and Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow — says Gore’s claims are “completely wrong” and propped up by “bad science.”

“The fossil record, the ice core record — all the other data — shows that the sun has helped warm the Earth first, and then the carbon dioxide has increased,” Driessen explains. “So when you look at the record of the CO2 over the last few thousand years and you look at the record for the global temperatures — the temperature goes up, then the CO2 goes up; the temperature does down, then the CO2 goes down.”

Taxpayers in Missouri Will No Longer Fund Planned Parenthood

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Hopefully, in the near future no American tax dollars will fund the murder of innocent babies.

A pro-life group is applauding Missouri’s governor for ending the flow of taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood abortion clinics.

For the past several years, low-income women in need of screenings for breast and cervical cancer were directed to Planned Parenthood clinics in Springfield and Joplin. However, Governor Matt Blunt has eliminated the funding streams to abortion providers and has redirected the funding for cancer screenings to other medical facilities.

Daniel McConchie, the Missouri representative of Americans United for Life, says it is not an easy task to uncover such funding.

“They’re still on the look-out trying to find other areas [of funding], but as [Gov. Blunt’s] chief of staff told me, he said it’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack whenever you’re searching for this stuff,” he says, “because oftentimes you’ll have bureaucrats working in state government who are interested in protecting some of these entities just out of their own personal, political interests.”

McConchie encourages pro-life governors in other states to make sure that tax dollars are not going to abortion mills.

“Well, it’s very important that good, pro-life state governors do what they can to examine their own administration — not just trust anything that maybe the bureaucrats under them are telling them, but have somebody go through and look where’s the money going, who is it going to, to verify and ensure that the proper recipient should be getting it,” McConchie says.

Muslim Pupils Kill Teacher

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Look at how peaceful the Muslims are. Look at how tolerant they are. Look at how much they love and celebrate life. They continue to show their true colors, over and over again.

MUSLIM pupils at a secondary school in northeastern Nigeria beat a teacher to death today after accusing her of desecrating the Koran.

Oluwatoyin Olusase, a Christian, was adjudicating an Islamic Religious Knowledge exam at the school in Gombe state when the incident occurred.

The students attacked her outside the school compound after the exam and killed her, witnesses said.

It was not clear exactly what Olusase had done that angered the students.

Police confirmed the killing and said their intervention had prevented the incident from turning into a riot.

“We have received information that a female teacher has been lynched by her students. We are investigating the report,” Gombe state police commissioner Joseph Ibi said.

At least five people were killed and several churches burned down in February 2006 in the neighbouring state of Bauchi by Muslims infuriated that a Christian teacher in a secondary school had tried to confiscate a Koran from a student who was reading it during class.

Word got out into the streets that the teacher had desecrated the Koran, infuriating Muslims who went on the rampage.

At least 15,000 people have died in religious, communal and political violence in Africa’s most populous country since 1999, when Nigeria returned to democracy after 30 years of almost unbroken military rule.
