Psalm 119:105-112 (New International Version)

נ Nun

105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light for my path.

106 I have taken an oath and confirmed it,
that I will follow your righteous laws.

107 I have suffered much;
preserve my life, O LORD, according to your word.

108 Accept, O LORD, the willing praise of my mouth,
and teach me your laws.

109 Though I constantly take my life in my hands,
I will not forget your law.

110 The wicked have set a snare for me,
but I have not strayed from your precepts.

111 Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart.

112 My heart is set on keeping your decrees
to the very end.

New York Bans Only ‘Religious’ Groups

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

And on Christian persecution here at home…

A lawsuit has been filed in Watertown, N.Y., because the Dulles State Office Building there – and other state buildings – have conference facilities that can be rented by anyone – except churches.

“The state of New York, over the last 20 years, has been the worst place for equal access,” said Jordan Lorence, senior counsel with the Alliance Defense Fund, which is working on the case on behalf of Relevant Church.

“Even though there have been five major Supreme Court decisions from 1981 that you cannot treat religious users with religious speech worse than everyone else, nonetheless these policies persist,” he told WND.

The lawsuit seeks an immediate injunction ordering the state to allow the church to rent a facility – otherwise available to anyone – for its Easter Sunday service.

Lorence called the policy “wildly out of step” with court affirmations of church rights.

In this specific case, the church, whose congregation has outgrown its own building, usually rents another nearby building for its Sunday services. However, there were scheduling conflicts on Easter and another approaching Sunday, so officials asked to rent the Dulles State Office Building.

Those facilities specifically are available to “nearly all groups in the community for any ‘educational, cultural, or civic’ purpose.” But the state policy specifically prohibits religious “activities” or “services,” a clear violation of Supreme Court precedent, the ADF said.

“Government officials do not have the right to discrimination against Christian groups,” Lorence said. “When the state opens up a building for community groups to rent, it must be fair and permit equal access. The courts have repeatedly ruled on this, but here we are again.”

He said courts recently have ruled in favor of two other New York churches represented by ADF attorneys regarding equal access, including a decision that resulted in a permanent injunction in a case involving the New York City Board of Education.

But in Watertown, state officials have allowed the rock band Tough Luck, a video game event, a meeting of Toastmasters, a presentation of “The Nutcracker,” a presentation by a “mural painter and social activist,” a meeting of Citizens Against Illegal Drugs, a performance of “Come Meet Clifford the Big Red Dog,” and “Bubble Mania.”

But they won’t rent to Relevant Church, whose pastor, Robert Miskowski, was told that the so-called “separation of church and state” prohibited the church from renting.

“It’s astonishing that state officials would not view faith as serving any ‘education, cultural, or civic’ purpose, but regardless, government officials are required to be fair,” Lorence said. “We hope that the state will obey the law and allow this church to rent public facilities just as other groups are permitted to do.”

Lorence said the church simply as asking to rent the facility on the same terms and conditions as other users. And he said court rulings have made clear simply allowing a religious group to rent a facility on those same conditions does not create a government “endorsement” of religious statements.

He said the emergency request was pending before a federal judge, but the ADF was preparing to appeal up to the U.S. Supreme Court if needed to ensure the church had a place to meeting on Easter Sunday, April 8.

Pakistani Christians Assaulted at Muslim Festival

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

(Sarcasm) Yes, more wonderful examples of the peaceful and tolerant nature of those ever loving Muslims. Can’t you just feel the love pouring off of them? Shouldn’t there wonderful tolerance of all things non-Muslim be an example to us all? (sarcasm off).
Yup, there you have it, folks. Once again, another example of violence from Muslims.

Christians in Pakistan continue to face harassment by Muslims, who are upset over the boldness of many believers. A spokesman for Voice of the Martyrs says a team of Pakistani Christians was beaten recently as they handed out gospel tracts at a Muslim festival.

The four-member team of evangelists distributed more than 13,000 tracts before a mob of more than 100 Muslims attacked and beat them. VOM spokesman Todd Nettleton explains that the evangelists were in hostile territory. “The best way to describe it,” says Nettleton, “is sort of a revival meeting for radical Muslims.”

According to the VOM spokesman, speakers at the Muslim festival were “trying to incite people to be better Muslims, trying to incite people to jihad.” But Christians at the festival who were “telling people about Jesus and encouraging them to follow Christ” was “obviously was seen as a threat,” says Nettleton.

After being beaten, the evangelists were taken to a police station, where they were detained and questioned before being released. VOM provided medical care for the evangelists afterwards.

Despite the harassment and beating often faced by believers in many Muslim nations, Nettleton says Christianity continues to flourish. “It’s very difficult to be a Christian in some of these places, but the exciting thing is to see Christians who are being such a bold witness for Christ,” he shares.

The VOM spokesman cites the incident involving the evangelists at the festival as an example of that dedication. “Even knowing that they were taking a great risk, knowing even that their lives were in danger, still they chose to be at this Muslim festival — and they chose to be actively witnessing for Christ there,” he says.

Nettleton is hopeful the Pakistani Christians’ efforts at the festival were not in vain. “We don’t know what’s going to happen with those tracts,” he says. “We pray that the Lord will use those to reach some of these hearts and to change their hearts for Him.”

Case of the ‘Flying Imams’ Prompts Congressional Action

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

Well good. It’s time someone actually put political correctness away and sees CAIR for the terrorist supporting organization it is.

( – An Islamic advocacy group is taking flak — and prompting congressional action — over a decision to sue ordinary citizens who expressed concern about six Muslim imams who tried to catch a U.S. Airlines flight last November.

The airline removed the imams from the plane after other passengers reported seeing them engage in “suspicious” activity.

“The flying imams” lawsuit was announced on March 13 by Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The imams are suing US Airways and Minnesota’s Metropolitan Airports Commission, alleging that their civil rights were violated.

And while CAIR says the airline is the main focus of the lawsuit, the imams also are suing “John Does”– described in the lawsuit as “passengers at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport who contacted U.S. Airways to report the alleged ‘suspicious’ behavior of Plaintiffs’ performing their prayer at the airport terminal.”

One of the unnamed “John Doe” defendants is described as an “older” man who “picked up his cellular phone and made a phone call while watching the Plaintiffs pray” at the U.S. Airways gate.

The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, a conservative public interest law firm, has offered to defend for free any individual citizens named in CAIR’s lawsuit.

On Tuesday, U.S. lawmakers got into the act. House Republicans proposed a measure to protect public-transportation passengers from being sued if they report suspicious activity involving their fellow passengers, the Washington Times reported.

By a vote of 304-121, the House agreed to send the Rail and Public Transportation Security Act of 2007 back to committee so that language shielding passengers can be inserted into the bill.

Republican lawmakers mentioned CAIR’s lawsuit, warning it would have a “chilling effect” on passengers who might be less inclined to report suspicious behavior. But some Democrats argued that shielding people from such lawsuits would encourage racial profiling on the part of passengers.

In a March 23 letter to CAIR, Becket Fund President Kevin Hasson denounced the targeting of private citizens. “It has never been in the civil rights tradition to sue ordinary citizens,” Hasson told CAIR

“In fact, threatening to sue fearful senior citizens who make telephone calls is about as far removed from the ‘movement to advance civil rights in this nation’ as I can imagine. It is most certainly the right of individual citizens and, indeed, their duty — especially in wartime — to report their suspicions to the authorities.”

Hasson said actions taken by authorities in response to passengers’ complaints may be fair game for litigation, but the “ability of the citizenry to make such calls in the first place is not.”

Hasson is urging CAIR to “use whatever influence you may have” to convince the imams and their lawyer not to sue individual citizens.

Most Americans Think Palestinian State Would Be Terror State, Poll Shows

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

If this poll is accurate, then why on earth is our government pushing for an independent nation for these people? It defies all logic and understanding.
The pali’s have show over and over that all they know and want is violence and terror, with the complete annihilation or Israel and genocide of the Jewish people.
Every time Israel gives a concession, there is never any concession back from the palis.

Jerusalem ( – By a two-to-one margin, more Americans believe that an independent Palestinian state would be a terrorist state than a democracy, and a majority believes that Israel should not concede any more land to the Palestinians, according to a new poll.

The McLaughlin Associates poll, commissioned by the Zionist Organization of America, comes at time when the Bush administration is pushing ahead Israeli-Palestinian negotiations with the goal of establishing a Palestinian state.

Many critics of the Palestinians here note that the new push by the U.S. and Israeli governments is happening despite the fact that Palestinian Authority (P.A.) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah faction has joined a Hamas-led “unity” government and that Hamas is openly calling for continued violence against Israel.

In the survey of 1,000 Americans, 60 percent of respondents said Israel should not make any further land concessions to the P.A., compared to 11 percent who favor the ceding of more territory.

The survey also found that 45 percent of Americans foresee a Palestinian terror state rather than a peaceful democracy, while 22 percent disagreed. Forty-five percent of respondents said they support Israel over the Palestinians, compared to 4.6 percent who did not.

“This poll makes clear that the American public fully understands Israel’s difficult plight in dealing with the Arab war against it,” said ZOA National President Morton Klein in a statement.

“Americans understand that establishing a Palestinian state would simply result in but another terrorist state in the Middle East, which is the last thing America needs in its efforts to bring peace and security to the region,” he said.

According to Klein, the poll indicates that Americans are against appeasing the Palestinians by offering more concessions.

It also found that Americans are more realistic about the Arab campaign against Israel than other governments – including the Bush administration, and they believe the U.S. should stop talking about establishing a Palestinian state. American respondents also view chances for peace as virtually non-existent.

“Desperate Search for ‘Peace-Loving’ Palestinians” by Hal Lindsey

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

The whole world seems to be trying to push the Israelis into the elusive “two-states-living-side-by-side-in-peace” solution. And all of this despite an avalanche of hard evidence that there is no such thing as a “peace-seeking Muslim Palestinian.” Just ask the Christian Palestinians who have been driven from their centuries-old homes in Bethlehem by them.

It is like 1938 when the world, led by England’s Neville Chamberlain, was trying to convince Poland and Czechoslovakia to accept the “peace-loving Nazis” of Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich as “peace partners.” Ah yes, “Peace in our times” – it had such a nice ring to it. But the appeasers then found out what every non-realist does who lacks the courage to face the facts and act.

It is hard to imagine that the world can possibly be so willfully ignorant of the obvious as it is when it comes to the so-called Israeli “peace process.” The Palestinians don’t want peace. They clearly and outspokenly want the annihilation of the State of Israel. One doesn’t have to read between the lines to discover this shocking truth. It couldn’t be more obvious.

Note the way that PA Interior Minister Sa’id Siam spoke last week: “If any Hamas member ever recognized Israel, he would be ejected from the movement. … There isn’t a chance any Hamas leader will ever recognize Israel. We will not betray our values. … We will leave this world as martyrs without recognizing Israel.” Yeah! No diplomatic double-speak there.

The European monitors who leapt at the chance to take up positions along the border between Egypt and Gaza to ensure Israel wouldn’t close it off as a security threat are making contingency escape plans in the event the “peace-loving” Palestinians suddenly turn on them.

According to the Jerusalem Post, “They say their lives are being threatened by their Palestinian hosts, who are evidently ungrateful for their unwitting assistance in smuggling an estimated 30 tons of heavy weapons into Gaza from Egypt over the past two years.”

The Post reported that the head of the 80-European force met with the Israelis to plan their escape route. They worked out a plan where the Europeans would make a run for the security fence, where they would be rescued from raging hordes of “peaceful Palestinians” by the “warmongering” Israeli Defense Forces who would be waiting to protect them.

At least there are 80 Europeans who know the Palestinians don’t want peace with Israel. They don’t need any more convincing. And it can’t be said that they don’t have on-site knowledge.

Furthermore, this “Everlasting Hatred” is being perpetuated in the Palestinian school system. Israeli Parliament member Michael Melchoir just reported on his comprehensive review of the PA’s new 12th grade school textbook. Melchoir said, “The findings make it clear the ‘Palestinians’ do not view the conflict as merely being a land dispute that can ‘be resolved by partition,’ but rather as ‘an existential religious conflict that cannot be resolved.'” (Jerusalem Post, March 21)

When Melchoir presented this evidence to Hillary Clinton, even she was appalled. She blasted the Palestinians by saying that this is “the deliberate poisoning of the minds of Palestinian children” and suggested “perhaps Abbas and his Fatah-controlled PLO are not true peace partners after all.” Now there is a real grasping of the obvious.

But the world continues to insist that the Palestinians want peace, despite the evidence. And they insist that the obstacle to peace is Israel … but they leave the rest of the sentence unfinished out of politeness. Israel’s only obstacle to peace is its existence.

The world’s leadership knows this. How could they help but know this. It couldn’t be more obvious. Even a consummate politician couldn’t block out the evidence.

Hamas and Hezbollah have decided to bury their differences between their Shiite and Sunni sects and cooperate in their shared goal: the obliteration of Israel. It is the old Muslim doctrine of “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” at work. Shiite Iran is training Sunni members of Hamas to serve in a Hamas-led Palestinian Army. Now that is the “purpose driven life” in action, Muslim style.

It is a matter of settled Palestinian law that selling land in the Palestinian-controlled territories to Jews is a capital crime punishable by death. Every centimeter of Palestinian-controlled land becomes immediately “ethnically cleansed” of all Jews. But the world’s sympathy on this issue is reversed when it comes to the Palestinians. The Palestinians demand that any “peace deal” must include the “right of return” to millions of Palestinians to move into Israel proper. This is like Cleopatra embracing the Cobra to her breast on a national scale. New waves of suicide bombers would be living inside the heart of Israel.

The world cannot be ignorant of the inequity of that equation. Jews are not welcome in “Palestine” under any circumstances. Yet world leaders still argue that Israel’s refusal to allow itself to be outnumbered by Palestinians hostile to its existence is the primary “obstacle” to peace?

How can any civilized world leader claim ignorance of these facts? Especially our president, George Bush. It is impossible. That leaves me with only one alternative explanation. It’s the same explanation that made Hitler’s Holocaust possible 70 years ago.

The “civilized” world leadership knows the national goal of the Palestinian people is the destruction of Israel.

But it must be OK with them. Provided Israel doesn’t “inconvenience their consciences” with too much noise in the process. Can’t they just go quietly to the gas chambers as before? Only this time, their destruction won’t even be that humane. Maybe they can persuade the media not to show the butchery of Israeli citizens in the streets of Israel on the evening news. That might disturb their “civilized” constituents.
