Psalm 119:129-136 (New International Version)

פ Pe

129 Your statutes are wonderful;
therefore I obey them.

130 The unfolding of your words gives light;
it gives understanding to the simple.

131 I open my mouth and pant,
longing for your commands.

132 Turn to me and have mercy on me,
as you always do to those who love your name.

133 Direct my footsteps according to your word;
let no sin rule over me.

134 Redeem me from the oppression of men,
that I may obey your precepts.

135 Make your face shine upon your servant
and teach me your decrees.

136 Streams of tears flow from my eyes,
for your law is not obeyed.

Paving the Way for a Muslim Parallel Society

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

A recent ruling in Germany by a judge who cited the Koran underscores the dilemma the country faces in reconciling Western values with a growing immigrant population. A disturbing number of rulings are helping to create a parallel Muslim world in Germany that is welcoming to Islamic fundamentalists.

She didn’t know it, nor did she even expect it. She had good intentions. Perhaps it was a mistake. In fact, it was most certainly a mistake. The best thing to do would be to wipe the slate clean.

Last week, in the middle of the storm, Christa Datz-Winter, a judge on Frankfurt’s family court, was speechless. But Bernhard Olp, a spokesman for the city’s municipal court, was quick to jump in. Olp reported that the judge had been under emotional stress stemming from a murder that had been committed in her office 10 years ago, and that she was now planning to take a break to recuperate. He also mentioned that she was “outraged” — not about herself or her scandalous ruling, but over the reactions the case has triggered.

The reactions were so fierce that one could have been forgiven for mistakenly thinking that Germany’s Muslims had won the headscarf dispute and the controversy over the Mohammed cartoons in a single day and, in one fell swoop, had taken a substantial bite out of the legal foundations of Western civilization.

The ensuing media furor came from both sides of the political spectrum. The left-leaning daily Die Tageszeitung ran a story on the case titled: “In the Name of the People: Beating Allowed,” while the right-wing tabloid Bild called it “An Outrageous Case!” The same unanimity across party lines prevailed in the political realm. “Unbearable,” was conservative Bavarian Interior Minister Günther Beckstein’s ruling, while Lale Akgün, a member of parliament of Turkish origin and the Social Democratic Party’s representative on Islamic issues, commented that the Frankfurt judge’s ruling was “worse than some backyard decision by an Islamist imam.” Even the deputy head of the Green Party’s parliamentary group, Hans-Christian Ströbele, noted that a German judge is obligated to uphold German law.

The original purpose of the case was not to carry the clash of cultures into the courtroom. Instead, the case brought before Frankfurt’s family court was that of a 26-year-old German woman of Moroccan origin who was terrified of her violent Moroccan husband, a man who had continued to threaten her despite having been ordered to stay away by the authorities. He had beaten his wife and he had allegedly threatened to kill her.

But German law requires a one-year separation before a divorce can be completed — and exceptions for an expedited process are only granted in extreme situations. When the woman’s attorney, Barbara Becker-Rojczyk, filed a petition for an expedited divorce, Judge Christa Datz-Winter suddenly became inflexible. According to the judge, there was no evidence of “an unreasonable hardship” that would make it necessary to dissolve the marriage immediately. Instead, the judge argued, the woman should have “expected” that her husband, who had grown up in a country influenced by Islamic tradition, would exercise the “right to use corporal punishment” his religion grants him.

The judge even went so far as to quote the Koran in the grounds for her decision. In Sura 4, verse 34, she wrote, the Koran contains “both the husband’s right to use corporal punishment against a disobedient wife and the establishment of the husband’s superiority over the wife.”

Saudi official: Arabs Will Normalize With Israel After Creation of Palestinian State

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

Oh, as usual, the Arabs once again demand concessions from Israel.
Saudi to Israeli: “Look Mr. Israeli…if you will just give more concessions, give up more territory, and make Palestine a country, we will treat you so very nice.”
Saudi to Arab World: “Look Arab World…we can get Israel to give up so much, with just an empty promise from us that we will treat them good, that there is no way they can defend themselves against an attack from all of us. We will annihilate the Jews once and for all. Allah Akbar!!”
Koran 47:36: “Therefore do not falter or sue for peace when you have gained the upper hand.”

Israel should withdraw from Arab territory and allow the creation of a Palestinian state before Arabs recognize it, a Saudi official said Monday, a day after Israel’s prime minister invited Arab leaders to discuss their ideas for peace with him.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert specifically called on Saudi Arabia to take the lead – the first time Israel has made such a request of the Saudis, who maintain a state of war with Israel but are pushing for a peace deal. (AP)

White House Plans to Force “Guest Worker” Program

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

The President and I have never seen eye to eye on illegal immigration.
I feel that any guest worker program would be a “reward” to those who have come here illegally. It would show them that breaking the law has no consequence. Guest worker program are a slap in the face to those who did obey the law and came here legally.
I was surprised at a comment one of Hispanic friends made the other day. He told me that most of the Hispanic and Latino community is against any program that legitimizes and rewards illegal immigrants. This is totally opposite from what the main stream media is telling us. If anyone can find actual statistic about the opinions of these groups, I’d be interested in seeing them.
None the less, the President’s special ‘Z’ visas idea for illegal aliens is doing what exactly what so many people are telling him we don’t want; rewarding illegal immigrants for breaking our laws.

An immigration reform advocate says there are too many unanswered questions about a new White House plan designed to give special visas to illegal aliens. The plan, which would require these illegal immigrants to return home and pay hefty fines to become legal U.S. residents, was reportedly devised during weeks of closed-door meetings with Republican senators.

The special visa plan is designed give millions of illegal aliens the chance to apply for a three-year work permit that can be renewed indefinitely by paying a fee of $3,500 each time. But Ira Mehlman of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is skeptical of the idea.

“What they’ve come up with is some convoluted system that creates this huge, new guest worker program,” Mehlman notes. “It puts illegal aliens into a new category called ‘Z visas,’ and it’s not entirely clear whether they’re going to be able to remain here permanently or not permanently,” he says.

Meanwhile, the FAIR spokesman points out, no details are provided about how the government is going to police this massive new system. “And based on the track record of enforcing these kinds of programs,” he asserts, “we can count on the fact that, within a few years, they’ll be back with a proposal to grant amnesty to all these people, just based on the fact that they’re now here legally and working.”

Mehlman says he believes the “Z visa” plan is yet another attempt by the White House and some members of Congress to pass a large-scale guest-worker amnesty program that he feels will only result in eroding the American middle class.

Synagogues Targeted on Passover Holiday

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

What makes this even more disturbing is the fact that the clueless folks at the Chicago Tribune titled their article “Synagogue possible target of hate crime”.
It’s interesting to me that every time a Koran is possibly defaced, the news media splashes headlines about “hate crimes”. Yet let the Jews, or God Forbid, Christians suffer defacement on our buildings or Holy Books and it’s only possibly a “hate crime”.
Read on…

Synagogue possible target of hate crime

A synagogue on Chicago’s North Side may have been the target of a hate crime after vandals spray-painted derogatory messages on the building early Saturday, police said.

Officers were called to the Ner Tamid Ezra-Habonin Congregation of North Town, at 2754 W. Rosemont Ave., on Saturday evening and found the front door spray-painted with offensive language, Officer John Mirabelli said.

Someone wrote “Free Palestine” on the door in English as well as Arabic writings, said. Izzie Weinzweig, president of the congregation. “Death to Israel” and similar language was spray-painted on signs posted on the side of the building, he said.

“We’ve been in the area 70 years, and this is the first such incident that we’ve had,” Weinzweig said.

Swastika Found At SF Synagogue

The Jewish observance of Passover begins at sundown Monday, making the discovery of a swastika at a San Francisco synagogue all the more disturbing, according to NBC11.

Church officials had removed the swastika from the wall by mid-morning.

They told NBC11 they have called investigators to look into this incident. They said they hope they got a major clue about who may have defaced the temple from a security camera.

The graffiti was discovered on the day Jews around the world celebrate Passover, which marks their liberation from ancient slavery.

Head Rabbi Stephen Pearce said the discovery left him saddened, but not bitter.

“Of course the timing of at the time of Passover and Easter really seems to greater focus to people’s disgust with something like that,” Pearce said.

Temple Emanu-El (map) has been in San Francisco since the 1920s, but the congregation itself dates back to California’s gold rush.

Pearce said incidents like this are rare, but not unheard of.

He said in the past 25 years, the temple has had one or two incidents like this one.

He said it usually ends up being the work of some disgruntled individual, a teenager, or someone very immature.

Brits Combat Radical Islam…By Giving “Civics Lessons”?

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

OK, I don’t want to seem too harsh here, but have y’all lost yer ever lovin’ minds??? (knocking on heads) Hello?? Is there anyone in there?? Hello??
Alright, let’s review real quick here. These are the same Muslims who want Islamic law set up in your government. These are the same Muslims who want segregated schools and swimming pools. These are the same Muslims who have made your schools drop teaching of the Holocaust and the Crusades. These are the same Muslims who refused to cooperate with your authorities after the July bombings.
What makes you think that they are the least bit interested in learning anything from you? What makes you think that giving them “civic lessons” is going to override a religious mandate of death and destruction to all infidels who refuse to convert to Islam; a mandate that has been ingrained in there minds for generations?
What a waste of £6 million.

Muslim “opinion formers”, including imams, are to be given lessons in civic leadership under a new plan to tackle Islamic extremism in Britain.

Ruth Kelly, the Communities and Local Government Secretary, will this week announce details of a £6 million “hearts and minds” drive to deal with growing radicalism among young British Muslims which can fuel terrorist plots.

Also part of the plan are school-twinning projects, in which pupils from mainly Muslim schools will undertake joint projects, such as music and drama, with children from predominantly white establishments.

The schools could go on trips together, while groups of pupils could spend days in each other’s classrooms.

Miss Kelly will also announce a major increase in the number of “forums against extremism” – regional groups which meet regularly and which were set up in the wake of the July 7 London bombings to enable Muslims to discuss ways of tackling extremism.

Congressional Dems in CAIR’s Pocket

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

CAIR (the Islamic terrorist front group) apparently has the Pelosi-ites (Congressional Democrats) in their hip pockets. As most of you are aware, CAIR is helping six imams, who were held off a U.S. Air flight, for suspicious behavior, sue not only U.S. Air, but the individual citizens on the flight who “blew the whistle” on these six imams.
Congressional Republicans introduced a measure that would keep public-transportation passengers from being sued if they report suspicious activity.
Of course, the Democrats, who are more interested in doing things like killing our troops by cutting off their funding, were the first to condemn this common sense measure.
Read on to see the levels of stupidity, that the Democrats you put in office, are able to reach.

Various members of the House majority had just spent 30 minutes in self-praise over the $7.3 billion transportation-security bill, calling it long-overdue relief for millions of Americans. Then Rep. Peter King (R-L.I.) rose to propose an amendment directed at a dangerous new threat to national security.

His motion was a response to the “John Doe” lawsuit filed by six “Flying Imams.” Last November, the six were ejected from a US Airways flight after their fellow passengers reported what they saw as strange and disturbing behavior. The imams claim that they were victims of “intentional” and “malicious” discrimination and are seeking compensation, including punitive damages – from the airlines, and also from the passengers and crew, who are identified in the suit as “John Does” to be served with legal papers once a court order reveals their actual identities.

That lawsuit is a dangerous threat aimed at a vital component of public-transit security – the public itself.

King explained as much, speaking on behalf of his amendment, which would protect anyone who makes a reasonable, good-faith report of suspicious activity from being the target of a lawsuit. “We have an enemy which is constantly adapting,” King said Wednesday. “We have to think outside the box.”

That enemy, of course is al Qaeda – which is obsessed with slaughtering innocents using public transportation. There was Madrid’s “3/11” – 10 bombs detonated on four trains at the height of the morning rush hour, killing 191 and injuring 2,050. And London’s “7/7” – four suicide bombers in the Underground and on a double-decker bus, resulting in 52 dead and 700 injured.

Rep. Steve Pearce (R-N.M.), who’d offered an earlier bill to protect good Samaritans who alert officials, rose to speak after King. “If we allow these suits to go forward,” he warned the House, “it will have a chilling effect on the future of American security . . . If we are serious about fighting terrorism, if we are serious about protecting Americans and asking them to help protect each other, then we must pass this motion.

This is the kind of no-brainer legislation that every member of Congress should vigorously support. Yet House Democrats reacted to King’s proposal as if he’d thrown a bomb into the House chamber itself.

According to witnesses in the gallery and on the floor, Speaker Nancy Pelosi displayed a classic deer-in-the headlights look as the Democratic leadership went into a huddle – plainly eager, not to embrace this common-sense measure, but to sidetrack it.

Meanwhile, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), the chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, took the floor to oppose King’s motion – and to defend the lawsuit against John Does. “We should be tolerant,” he argued; people shouldn’t be singled out because they “look different.”

In fact, the flying imams triggered concerns by a variety of unusual actions, as well as words that roused the concern of another Arabic-speaking passenger. Witnesses say that House members started booing Thompson.

Finally, a member of the leadership realized how this would look to Americans watching on C-SPAN: Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.) was seen staring at Thompson and repeatedly drawing his hand across his throat – an urgent signal to get off the floor.

With Democrats realizing they couldn’t argue against King’s measure, it went to a vote, and passed, 304 to 121

Every one of those 121 votes aimed at defeating protection for “John Does” was a Democrat – indeed, more than half of all Democrats present voted “nay.”

To become law, this measure must also pass the Senate – and survive House-Senate conference, where the leadership might try to quietly excise King’s reform.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will certainly push for that. After all, the radical “civil rights” group – which supports the terrorists of Hamas and has received millions in funding from Saudi Arabia – is paying the lawyers in the “Flying Imams” lawsuit.

Nihad Awad, CAIR’s executive director, defends the suit’s targeting of ordinary citizens. The clerics, he explains, will only sue passengers who made false reports or acted in bad faith. But the suit cites an “elderly couple” who watched the imams in the gate area and then made a cellphone call. How will CAIR determine who the couple called and whether anything they did was intended to discriminate against the imams, without first finding out their names and forcing them to defend against the charge? What about their civil rights?

In the future, who will be willing to risk their savings in the face a potential lawsuit underwritten by wealthy Middle Eastern donors?

If King’s measure becomes law, that worry will vanish. But the bill will have to survive the instinct of Congress’ Democratic leadership to pander to political correctness and CAIR’s special-interest pressure.
