Psalm 119:153-160 (New International Version)

ר Resh

153 Look upon my suffering and deliver me,
for I have not forgotten your law.

154 Defend my cause and redeem me;
preserve my life according to your promise.

155 Salvation is far from the wicked,
for they do not seek out your decrees.

156 Your compassion is great, O LORD;
preserve my life according to your laws.

157 Many are the foes who persecute me,
but I have not turned from your statutes.

158 I look on the faithless with loathing,
for they do not obey your word.

159 See how I love your precepts;
preserve my life, O LORD, according to your love.

160 All your words are true;
all your righteous laws are eternal.

Is Pelosi a Felon?

Friday, April 6th, 2007

Maybe Pelosi should think twice before she takes it upon herself to represent the US without approval from the President.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may well have committed a felony in traveling to Damascus this week, against the wishes of the president, to communicate on foreign-policy issues with Syrian President Bashar Assad. The administration isn’t going to want to touch this political hot potato, nor should it become a partisan issue. Maybe special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald, whose aggressive prosecution of Lewis Libby establishes his independence from White House influence, should be called back.

The “Logan Act” makes it a felony and provides for a prison sentence of up to three years for any American, “without authority of the United States,” …

Disney Opens Fairy-Tale Weddings to Gays

Friday, April 6th, 2007

I can assure you that any ‘gay ceremony’ is not a real wedding and it is not a fairy-tale. I have a feeling that Disney should be prepared for a boycott.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The Walt Disney Co. has changed its policy to allow same-sex couples to participate in a popular Fairy Tale Wedding program it runs mainly at its two U.S. resorts and cruise line, a Disney spokesman said on Thursday.

Disney previously had allowed gay couples to organize their own weddings or commitment ceremonies at rented meeting rooms at the resorts, but had barred them from purchasing its Fairy Tale Wedding package and holding the event at locations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World that are set aside specifically for weddings.

“We are updating our Fairy Tale Wedding guidelines to include commitment ceremonies,” Disney Parks and Resorts spokesman Donn Walker said. “This is consistent with our policy of creating a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment for all of our guests.”

Walker said the change was prompted by “an inquiry from a guest that asked about this service.”

Virginia Methodist Pastor Accepts Homosexual As Member

Friday, April 6th, 2007

You cannot join a club if you arent willing to follow its rules. You cannot join a Bible-believing church if you don’t believe the Bible. The rules in God’s church say that homosexuality is a sin. Maybe this pastor didn’t get the memo or just maybe he needs to take a second look at his Bible. The Methodist church as a whole is becoming more and more liberal with every passing day. I certainly hope we don’t see the same thing happen with the UMC that has happened in the Episcopal church. One thing is for sure: satan is at work in the church.

An official with the Institute on Religion and Democracy believes the recent approval of an active homosexual for membership at a Virginia United Methodist church will force the denomination to take a closer look at its guidelines for church membership.

Minister Ed Johnson, who was pastor of South Hill United Methodist Church, was approached two years ago by a homosexual man who wanted to join the congregation. Johnson declined to grant immediate church membership to the man, who was living with his partner.

The presiding bishop, Charlene Kammerer, removed Johnson from his pulpit and eventually moved him to another congregation. The new pastor at South Hill United Methodist Church has accepted the homosexual man for membership, despite the UMC’s teaching that homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching.

Mark Tooley, director of United Methodist Action at the Institute on Religion and Democracy, feels this case will prove helpful and challenging to the church. It is a chance “for us to confront what the liberal side of the church has been advocating,” he says, “which is that church membership is a right to which everyone is entitled, because they believe in a gospel of what they call inclusiveness rather than in the gospel of what, I think, the orthodox would call divine calling.”

AFA Says Keep Your Kids At Home on Day of Silence

Friday, April 6th, 2007

The American Family Association is urging Christians to keep their kids at home during the “Day of Silence” sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. It is a day where students are asked to pass out literature and keep silent to show support for the homosexual agenda.

The Tupelo, Mississippi-based American Family Association (AFA) is warning parents across the U.S. to keep their children home from public schools on April 18, as a nationwide pro-homosexual observance takes place. That Wednesday marks this year’s “Day of Silence,” an event sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, or GLSEN; but an official with AFA says public school children should not be subjected to pro-homosexual rhetoric during the so-called Day of Silence.

For the yearly pro-homosexual observance, students in many U.S. public schools are asked to remain silent that day to express support for the homosexual agenda or to hand out pro-homosexual literature. But AFA Special Projects Director Randy Sharp is encouraging parents and concerned citizens whose community schools are taking part in the “Day of Silence” to take pro-family action in response to the event.

“What American Family Association is recommending is for, number one, parents to write their school administrator and tell them they oppose the administration giving free rein to homosexual activist groups,” Sharp says. “And, number two,” he adds, “we recommend that if your school is participating in the ‘Day of Silence,’ that you simply keep your child home from school that day.”

The AFA spokesman feels the “Day of Silence” showcases a double-standard evident throughout society and many schools. “You’ve got two factions,” he observes. “You have these who choose to remain silent to promote their agenda; and you have those who are forced to remain silent, because if they speak out against the ‘Day of Silence,’ they’ll be labeled as homophobes, as bigots, as being intolerant.”

Driver’s License to Feature Radio Chips?

Friday, April 6th, 2007

Washington state is announcing a project that will introduce driver’s licenses with RFID chips that will contain the holder’s personal information. This blog has been sounding the alarm about RFID chips (and their possible future link to the Antichrist) for quite some time. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

The state of Washington announced a pilot project to introduce a driver’s license “enhanced” with a radio frequency identification, or RFID, chip that would encode personal information and possibly serve as a passport-alternative if approved by the Department of Homeland Security.

Democratic Gov. Christine Gregoire signed a bill March 23 allowing Washington residents to apply for the $40 voluntary driver’s license beginning in January.

Gregoire spokeswoman Kristin Jacobsen told WND in an e-mail the enhanced license is intended to be an alternative way of complying with theWestern Hemisphere Travel Initiative mandated by the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004.

Mars Heats Up

Friday, April 6th, 2007

It looks like earth isn’t the only planet that is heating up. The heat on Mars is on the rise too. Does that mean that the people on Mars are causing their planet to burn? Oh wait! There is no life on Mars. Maybe global warming has nothing to do with what man is doing, but everything to do with what God is doing. Don’t tell Al Gore this though–there is no money in it for him if man isn’t the cause.

Mars is getting hotter. Measurements of the brightness of the planet’s surface show that the thermometer has ratcheted up some 0.65 °C over a few decades.

Lori Fenton at the Carl Sagan Center, Mountain View, California, and colleagues looked at maps of Mars’s ‘albedo’, a measure of how much light reflects off a surface. By comparing a map from 1976-78 with one from 1999-2000, they found “some pretty dramatic changes”, says Fenton. In particular, the southern highlands region of Mars had darkened significantly.

The darkening is thanks to the clearance of light-coloured dust that covers the planet’s darker bedrock, they propose. When the Sun’s light hits dark rock it warms the surface, and the heat is kept in by the atmosphere. This warming kicks up winds, which swirl any dust around and can even make dust devils. This sweeps the light-coloured dust into pockets, revealing more bedrock and causing further heating.
