Christ the Wisdom and Power of God

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”[Isaiah 29:14]

Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

Holocaust Survivor Killed at Virgina Tech Trying to Save Students

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Here is one of many heroic stories we will hear from this tragedy.

JERUSALEM — An Israeli lecturer who died in the massacre at a U.S. university saved the lives of several students by blocking the doorway of his classroom from the approaching gunman before he was fatally shot, his son said Tuesday.

Students of Liviu Librescu, 76, a holocaust survivor who was an engineering science and mathematics lecturer at Virginia Tech for 20 years, sent e-mails to his wife, Marlena, telling of how he blocked the gunman’s way and saved their lives, said the son, Joe.

“My father blocked the doorway with his body and asked the students to flee,” Joe Librescu said in a telephone interview from his home outside of Tel Aviv. “Students started opening windows and jumping out.”

Liviu Librescu, was respected in his field, his son said.

“His work was his life in a sense,” Joe Librescu said. “That was a good place for him to practice his research.”

The couple immigrated to Israel from Romania in 1978 and then moved to Virginia in 1985 for his sabbatical, but had stayed since then, said Joe Librescu, who himself studied at the school from 1989 to 1994.

Jusge Roy Moore Says Obama Needs a Law Lesson

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Judge Roy Moore, known for defending the ten commandments, is saying that Barack Obama needs a lesson in the law. Obama recently defended the removal of the ten commandments from courthouses across the country. Obama said he feels that the public posting of the ten commandments would cause non-believers to feel they are being treated unfairly. Does he know the ten commandments? How does ‘Thou shall not steal’ and ‘Thou shall not kill’ cause someone to be treated unfairly in the court system? It doesn’t.

The man known as the “Ten Commandments Judge” says recent comments by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama at a campaign stop in Iowa show the Illinois senator doesn’t understand religious freedom and the importance of recognizing God as the source of law.

At a campaign stop in Denison, Iowa, Senator Obama (D-Illinois) was asked about the controversy over the display of a Ten Commandments monument at the Alabama Judicial Building when Roy Moore was chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. Obama replied that the monument would tend to give non-believers the “feeling that [they] wouldn’t be treated as fairly as a Christian.” He went on to state that, “We want everybody to feel they are treated equally.”

However, Judge Moore says Obama fails to realize law is not about feeling. “He doesn’t understand, obviously, that religious freedom comes from God,” the judge contends, “and we must acknowledge God as a state and as a people. This type of feel-good philosophy that he’s espousing leads to things like taking ‘under God’ out of the Pledge, and ‘in God we trust’ off our money, and Christianity out of our lives, and it should be stopped.”

The former Alabama Supreme Court chief justice says Obama “speaks out of both sides of his mouth” when he calls himself a Christian yet supports abortion and claims homosexuality is not immoral. But the senator is not alone, the judge asserts; he says the main candidates being touted by the press simply do not understand America’s religious heritage.

“I’m really concerned,” Moore notes, “not only for our Christian values and what’s happening to Christianity in this country, but what’s happening to the country in general, how we’re losing our sovereignty, how we’re bowing down to foreign governments and giving up the rights and liberties which our forefathers fought to preserve.”

Online Child Abuse Claims On the Rise

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Our world has become so evil that people abuse/rape young children and show the video on the internet. This should outrage each and every one of us. Personally, it makes me sick.

Reports of websites that contain images of child abuse have continued to climb in the last year, a report has shown.
In 2006, the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) investigated more than 31,000 reports of sites that contained alleged images, an increase of 34% since 2005.

More than 10,000 of the reported pages on more than 3,000 websites were found to contain illegal child abuse content.

The increase was in part due to greater awareness of the IWF and its reporting procedures, the organisation said.

As well as outlining the numbers of web pages and sites containing images, the IWF annual report also revealed the increasing severity of content held on the sites.

More than 3,000 web pages contained images depicting the most severe abuse, such as penetrative and sadistic sexual activity, the report said. Most children involved were under the age of 12.

“9/11 and The Birth of a Notion” by Bill Whittle (Language Warning)

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Recently, Rosie O’Donnell said on national television that she believes 9/11 was orchestrated by the US government.Well, that’s why we went through the steps above. If you believe that the government lied about the moon landing, you can believe they lied about killing JFK. If they lied about JFK, then they can lie about chemtrails. And if they are willing to poison the entire population with aerial spraying, what are a few thousand people in four airliners and a couple of buildings?

Rosie O’ Donnell making such a claim on a major network is a national disgrace. The fact that much of the audience cheered and applauded is nothing less than a national catastrophe.

To her, and to her audience, it is taken as granted that the government is capable of such things. As if “the government” was operated by cyborgs grown in Haliburton vats, rather than by well-meaning and patriotic people that love this country.

“This is the first time in history that fire has ever melted steel,” she said. This is a statement of such pristine and perfect idiocy that it surely must be emblazoned in stone across the entrance to the Physics Imbecile wing of the Moron Museum of Natural History. But mastery of physics and engineering requires some intelligence, some perseverance and some discipline: none of which are in evidence in this buffoon. Everything is a conspiracy to a mind this far gone. The 15 British sailors kidnapped at sea? All a plan by our evil (but incompetent!) government to get the next war it so desperately needs. “Gulf of Tonkin! Google It, people!” she said on national TV.

And I will, Rosie. I promise. As soon as I finish googling MAD COW DISEASE.

I will make the point yet again because I believe it is the crux of the issue: what kind of moral universe do you have to inhabit to be able to believe that your own people – airline personnel, demolition experts, police and security forces, faked witnesses and all the rest – are capable of such a thing? How much hate for your own society do you have to carry in order to live in such a desolate and ridiculous mental hell? What psychoses must a mind be riddled with in order to negate what was perfectly obvious and instead believe a theory of such monumental fantasy? How much pure constant hatred does that take?

What, in short, is the miserable black hole of self-loathing that drives a person like Rosie O’Donnell and millions like her?

———-

In the middle of all this laziness, this lack of rigor, this mush… a few small lights still twinkle in the darkness.

I think the entire nation owes a deep and profound debt of gratitude to the editors of Popular Mechanics magazine. Their debunking of the 9/11 conspiracy was not only first-rate journalism. It was an act of vital national importance. It was heroic.

But Popular Mechanics?! That sort of article should have been front page, above the fold in The New York Times, The LA Times, Washington Post, and all of the other “media watchdogs” that are – or so I am assured – determined to safeguard the republic by presenting the truth.

There are only two small mites I might add to that monumental work.

This whole ball of earwax got started when a French author (by way of gratitude, I presume, for the hundreds of thousands of Americans killed defending his country from a tyranny they themselves were unwilling to fight) claimed that the hole in the Pentagon was far too small to have been caused by a jet. It must have been a missile!

ALL of these 9/11 conspiracy sites have museum-grade idiots stating what “obviously” happens at velocities and temperatures that they are flat-out incapable of understanding. Not only are these people too stupid to understand the physics involved with what they are bloviating about… they are too stupid to realize that they are too stupid.

An airplane is a hollow, extremely light-weight tube of aluminum, cunningly designed to lift not one ounce more than is necessary for safe flight in rough weather. An airplane is as fragile as a hollow-boned bird, and for the same reasons. The Pentagon, on the other hand, is a fortress, and as a matter of one of the very few pieces of good luck on that awful day, the side hit by American Flight 77 happened to be the only one of the five sides that had been recently reinforced to withstand a truck bomb attack.

Now if you have ever seen a bird fly into a window pane, you may realize that it does not leave a nice bird-shaped hole in the window. That is because in each historical conflict between the ground and an airplane, the ground has won every time.

Here’s something to prove the point far better than any words could ever do.

It is a video of an F-4 Phantom being launched into a reinforced wall at over 500 mph. The Phantom is a big airplane – not as big as a jetliner, certainly, but far sturdier in construction. When you watch this video, you will see that massive-looking fighter jet simply vaporize into a plume of aluminum dust. Nothing comes through the other side. It. Just. Disappears.

My other small contribution – which may be widely stated, although I have not seen it – is to grant this revolting premise for a moment and envision the consequences.

The 9/11 Truthers claim that the twin towers were brought down by controlled demolition. Okay.

Have you ever seen a controlled demolition? Shows like this are all over The Discovery Channel. Do these people realize how all of the insulation and paneling must be stripped away from the support beams? Do they not understand how these beams must be cut open and the explosives placed with great care? Have they not any idea of the amount of time this takes – months – and the forest of wires that runs through the structure to the detonating mechanism? Have they given no thought – none? – to what an enormous job this is, and how much work goes into getting these explosives exactly where they need to be?

Apparently not. They just figure someone leaves a suitcase somewhere, I guess.

Anyone who has ever – ever – seen what is required to bring down a building of that size knows that the site is a disaster area of det cord, pulled paneling, and huge bundles of explosives taped to the structural columns across many floors.

Has no one considered that this all had to be started after everyone went home on Monday night and before people reported for work the next day? On multiple floors of two of the busiest public spaces in the world? No one noticed this on Tuesday morning? Hey Jim, what do you suppose that huge bundle of plastic explosives is doing there where the water cooler used to be? And where do those wires go?

Well, must be some logical explanation. Let’s get some coffee and bagels.

Now you’re talking!

Of all the people in those buildings that morning, no one – no one – saw any wires anywhere? No one asked why the drywall was torn down and replaced with grey stuff duct-taped into place? None of the firemen rushing into those burning towers, checking all those floors for survivors – none of them noticed the building was rigged to explode? That it might possibly be worth a small call on the radio?

———-

Now. If Rosie O’Donnell and the rest of that Lunatic Brigade is right and I am wrong, then that man – that insignificant Army chaplain and his Honor Guard of forty men – are all liars. He is lying to me for Halliburton and Big Oil. That Chaplain — and all of those decent, patriotic young men in the Honor Guard, and all the commuters on the roads who saw an American Airlines jet instead of a missile – ALL of those people are liars and accessories to murder. And all of the firefighters who went into buildings rigged to explode were pre-recruited suicide martyrs dying for George W. Bush’s plans for world conquest.

Remember: NOTHING that happened on September 11th needed any more explanation than what was obvious from the second impact… namely, that Islamic terrorists hijaked four American aircraft and flew three of them into their targets. To try to convince people of missile attacks and rigged explosives and mystery jets is nothing more than an intentional assault on reason and common sense, one that damns the innocent and protects those mass murderers with our blood on their hands.

———-

If it’s not the the government then it’s the corporations… always the bad guys. Always guilty. Always fat white men ready to kill anyone for money.

Have these dramatists ever – EVER? – run a business? Have they any clue at all how much effort goes into keeping the French Fry station at McDonald’s adequately staffed, to say nothing about pulling together a few thousand people in spectacular acts of mass murder? Do they have any idea that the honest human men and women who work for the government are anything more than plot points in their own bitter narratives? Is there no end to the evidence – as if more evidence was needed – that we are daily led to believe the worst about our government, our businesses and our country by self-centered psychotics who understand nothing but the absolute imperative to glorify themselves at the expense of everyone and everything they share this civilization with?

And people believe this. Look at Rosie’s audience.

(Minneapolis) Cabbies Ordered to Pick Up All Riders

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Airport commissioners insist it’s simply a customer-service issue. But many Muslim taxi drivers say it’s an unfair new penalty that violates their religious prohibitions against handling alcohol.

Both sides agree that the dispute, part of a cultural conflict in the Twin Cities that has already drawn national attention, is probably heading for a court challenge, which in turn could become a national test case.

On an 11-0 vote Monday, Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) members voted to crack down on drivers refusing service, making Minnesota the first place in the country to decide how to treat Muslim cabbies who decline to transport alcohol-toting riders on religious grounds.

Starting May 11, any airport taxi drivers who refuse riders will face 30-day suspensions. Drivers will have their licenses revoked two years for a second offense.

“We’re just sending a message that if you want to drive here at this airport, you have to take all our customers,” said Steve Wareham, director of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Warnings About Hate Speech Bill the ‘Most Dangerous Bill in America’

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Once again, this liberal, Democrat congress y’all elected, is catering to the radical homosexual activist and attempting to pass a “hate crimes” bill that would allow the government to prosecute anyone speaking against homosexuality. Please contact your congress person and tell them to oppose this bill (H.R. 1592).

Debate is to begin today in a congressional subcommittee on a federal “hate speech” proposal similar to a state law that already has been used to send grandmothers to jail for their “crime” of sharing the Gospel of Jesus on a Philadelphia public sidewalk.

“This is the most dangerous bill in America,” said Janet Folger, a WND columnist and the president of Faith2Action.

The proposal, on its face, purports to create bans on “hate crimes,” but Rev. Louis Sheldon of the Traditional Values Coalition said it more accurately is “an attempt by the ultra liberals and the homosexuals to force Americans to accept homosexuality and gender disturbance as equal to God’s Created Order of heterosexuality.”

His organization is running an e-mail campaign to alert members of Congress about their constituents’ concerns.

“This bill says that hordes of homosexuals are being forced to flee their home states because they are routinely denied access to goods, services and employment,” he said. “This explains the mystery of the crowded highways and airports in San Francisco and New York. … The reasons for the bill are completely unsupported.”

He said states already have the resources to deal with crimes of bodily harm or assault, and the plan is simply not needed. Worse yet, he said, it creates a crime of “thought.”

Sheldon’s organization is releasing a poster showing Jesus as a wanted fugitive, for “crimes” under the planned “hate crimes” legislation.

Folger said her organization is launching a national television campaign to fight so-called “hate crimes” legislation, starting with H.R. 1592, the pending plan.

“The ‘Hate Crimes’ bill is better named ‘Hate Grandma’ or “hate Free Speech’ bill as it poses a serious threat to the freedom of speech for every American,” Folger said. “We must stop it before they send your grandma, your pastor, or you to jail for sharing your faith or speaking the truth about an agenda that seeks to silence us.”

The television ad campaign by Faith2Action will feature Philadelphia grandmothers who already were thrown in jail in Pennsylvania under that state’s “hate crimes” law – and faced the possibility of 47 years in jail – for testifying in public about their Christian faith.

That ads can be viewed at StopHateCrimesNow.com.

Sheldon noted that the plan adds “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” – “perceived or actual” for special federal protection under the Commerce Clause. The plan already is on the fast track and could be up for a subcommittee vote as early as tomorrow. It will be before the full Judiciary Committee next week.

The proposal, by U.S. Rep. John Conyers, the head of the House Judiciary Committee, is called “The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007,” and the Rev. Ted Pike, of the National Prayer Network said it is horrible.

Michael Marcavage, director of Repent America joined Pike in expressing alarm over the plan.

Marcavage told WND that plan would invert American justice, and instead of requiring evidence it would leave it to someone who claims to be offended to determine whether a “crime” has been committed.

“Truth is not allowed as evidence in hate crimes trials. … A homosexual can claim emotional damage from hearing Scripture that describes his lifestyle as an abomination. He can press charges against the pastor or broadcaster who merely reads the Bible in public. The ‘hater’ can be fined thousands of dollars and even imprisoned!” Marcavage said.

As WND has reported, such laws already have been used around the world, where in Canada pastors are fearful of reading biblical injunctions against homosexuality, and in Australia where two pastors were convicted of “vilifying” Islam.

Peter LaBarbera, of Americans for Truth, noted that in Canada and France both, legislators have been fined for publicly criticizing homosexuality. Three years ago, a Swedish hate crimes law was used to put Pastor Ake Green, who preached that homosexuality is a sin, in jail for a month.

“And recently, a British couple told how they were denied the chance to adopt because it was determined that their Christian faith might ‘prejudice’ them against a homosexual child put in their care,” LaBarbera added.

Already in the United States, Catholic Charities of Boston halted all adoption operations in the state after being told under Massachusetts’ pro-‘gay’ nondiscrimination law, only agencies that placed children in homosexual-led households would get licensed by the state.

UK Education Group: “Staring at Muslims = Islamophobia”

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Check this out:
“A document intended to educate against religious intolerance and sectarianism urges teachers to “make pupils aware of the various forms of Islamophobia, ie stares, verbal abuse, physical abuse”.”
So now this education group has equated stares with verbal and physical abuse.
Just how much longer are you Brits going to continue to cater the Muslims, who do very little, if anything in return? They want you to change everything about your life as they refuse to change anything about theirs. Talk about duplicity.

PUPILS and teachers have been told by an official body not to stare at Muslims for fear of causing offence.

A document intended to educate against religious intolerance and sectarianism urges teachers to “make pupils aware of the various forms of Islamophobia, ie stares, verbal abuse, physical abuse”.

But Learning Teaching Scotland (LTS), which issued the advice to schools north of the border, has been criticised by politicians and Muslim leaders for going “over the top”.

The document states: “Some Muslims may choose to wear clothing or display their faith in a way that makes them visible. For example, women may be wearing a headscarf, and men might be wearing a skullcap. Staring or looking is a form of discrimination as it makes the other person feel uncomfortable, or as though they are not normal.”

Osama Saeed, a spokesman for the Muslim Association of Britain, accused officials of going too far. “There are far more serious elements of Islamophobia. People look at all sorts of things — that can just be a glance. A glance and a stare are two different things — glances happen naturally when all sorts of things catch your eye whereas a stare is probably gawking at something.

“Personally I have not encountered much of a problem with people staring. I don’t know how you legislate for that.”

Murdo Fraser, deputy leader of the Scottish Conservatives, said: “In a multicultural society like ours there are people with all different forms of dress and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect children in particular to look at those who are differently dressed from them. To describe this as a form of discrimination seems to go completely over the top.”

Meanwhile, a survey of London’s Muslims shows that more of them identify with Britain than do the majority population. The Gallup poll, which is part of the biggest global survey of Muslims, shows 57% of Muslims identified with Britain as their home, compared with 48% of the rest of the population.

The poll also found that 74% of Muslims believe they are loyal to Britain and 78% of Muslims said they had confidence in Britain’s police force — a higher proportion than the rest of the population.

The survey shows 67% of Muslims have confidence in the judicial system and 73% believe in the British democratic process. This compares with 55% and 60% respectively among the general public.

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Michelle Malkin is reporting that the so-called “Christians” of the Westboro “Baptist” Church in Topeka, Kansas, are planning on protesting at the funerals of the slain Virgina Tech students.

Like clockwork, Part II: Reader Sarah writes that those lowlifes of the “Westboro Baptist Church” are planning to show up at the funerals of the murdered VTech kids. (I refuse to link them.)

(U.K.) Abortion Crisis as Doctors Refuse to Perform Surgery

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Wow, if only we had this problem here in the United States.

Britain is facing an abortion crisis because an unprecedented number of doctors are refusing to be involved in carrying out the procedure. The exodus of doctors prepared to perform the task is a nationwide phenomenon that threatens to plunge the abortion service into chaos, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) has warned.

More than 190,000 abortions are carried out each year in England and Wales and the NHS is already struggling to cope. Four out of five abortions are paid for by the NHS but almost half of those are carried out in the private sector, paid for by the NHS.

The reluctance of NHS staff, both doctors and nurses, to be involved has led to a doubling of abortions paid for by the NHS, which are carried out in the private or charitable sector, from 20 per cent of the total in 1997 to almost 40 per cent.

Distaste at performing terminations combined with ethical and religious convictions has led to a big increase in “conscientious objectors” who request exemption from the task, the RCOG says. A key factor is what specialists call “the dinner party test”. Gynaecologists who specialise in fertility treatment creating babies for childless couples are almost universally revered – but no one boasts of being an abortionist.

As a result, after decades of campaigning, anti-abortion organisations may be on the point of achieving their objective by default. Repeated efforts to tighten the law have failed and public opinion remains firmly in support, but the growing number of doctors refusing to do the work means there may soon not be enough prepared to carry out terminations to meet demand.

———-

Many doctors felt that, with contraception freely available on the NHS there was “no excuse” for women who got pregnant accidentally. Ms Furedi said: “They say, ‘why should we use our skills to clear up the mess?’ It is a very naïve view – unplanned pregnancy occurs for all sorts of reasons.”

In the US, where abortion is more politicised, groups of young doctors were committed to providing terminations which was seen as “worthwhile and heroic” because of the pressures they operated under, Ms Furedi said. But in Britain it was regarded as low status and unglamorous.

The decline in medical involvement in abortion is occurring as demand is rising. The number of terminations has doubled since the early 1970s and is now at a record 190,000 a year. One in three women has an abortion at some point in her life.

———-

For an abortion to be legal, it must be certified by two doctors under one of seven grounds, ranging from the continuation of the pregnancy posing a threat to the life of the woman to there being a “substantial risk” the baby would be born “seriously handicapped”.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Health said: “This is an issue we are aware of and will be discussing with the the RCOG.”

Josephine Quintavalle of the Alive and Kicking alliance, an umbrella group of anti-abortion organisations, said: “We welcome this development. We should be working together to make abortions rare.”
