Jerusalem Day 5767 – Celebrating 40 Years of a Unified Capital

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Not to be one to press the button of “prophecy” very often, the number “40” is important to Biblical prophecy and does appear several time. Research it and see what I mean.
In the mean time, we want to wish all of our Jewish and Israeli friends warm wishes for Jerusalem Day.

More Pali Terrorist Kill Each Other – Also Shoot Rockets at Innocent Israelis

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

The pali’s are acting just like a rabid dog; attacking anything within reach. The parallel is eerie. It’s strange to me that the world still thinks these people deserve their own country.

Hamas Gunmen Kill Fatah Officer’s Guards as Gaza Violence Grows

May 16 (Bloomberg) — Hamas militants killed six bodyguards of a senior security chief loyal to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas as efforts to end four days of clashes in the Gaza Strip failed.

The Hamas men stormed the home Rashid Abu Shebak, who is the head of the Authority’s Internal Security force killing the six and injuring 10 others, Fatah spokesman Abdel Kahim Awad said on Wednesday. Abu Shebak wasn’t home at the time and his family escaped. Another member of Abbas’s forces was killed in an exchange of fire elsewhere, he said.

Violence between gunmen affiliated with Hamas, Fatah and other groups and clans in Gaza exploded over the weekend, leaving about 22 dead. While Hamas and Fatah sit in a coalition government formed in March, Hamas opposes any peace agreement with Israel and the two sides compete for jobs, influence and funds for their members.

The two movements maintain their own militias while most of the Palestinian Authority’s official security establishment, including the Internal Security force, are loyal to Abbas and Fatah. Interior Minister Hani el-Qawasmeh quit this week after failing to win Cabinet backing for a security plan.

The internecine fighting spilled over into Israel late yesterday, with Qassam rockets launched from Gaza hitting the country. Seventeen rockets hit Israel west and north of the Gaza Strip, 10 of them landing in the town of Sderot, a spokeswoman for the Israel Defense Forces, said by telephone.

The attack left 30 people wounded, including one seriously, the spokeswoman said, citing figures from the Magen David Adom emergency medical service.

“A Pioneer of Christian Zionism” from Pastor John Hagee of Christians United for Israel

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

    Dr. Jerry Falwell

    A Pioneer of Christian Zionism

On Tuesday, May 15, Dr. Jerry Falwell went to his reward in heaven. With his passing, the nation has lost a wonderful man of God and an important Christian leader. In addition, we in the Christian Zionist world lost one of our pioneers and leading lights.

When I was deciding whether to create Christians United for Israel, I called Dr. Falwell for his guidance. Dr. Falwell not only encouraged me to create CUFI in the strongest terms, but he pledged his full support. And Dr. Falwell kept this pledge. He served on CUFI’s Executive Board from day one and, despite his health challenges, he traveled to Washington, DC last July to participate in our first Washington, DC summit.

Supporting Israel was hardly new for Dr. Falwell. When he created the Moral Majority in 1979, he declared that one of its founding principles was to provide “support for Israel and Jewish people everywhere.” In the early 1980’s, Dr. Falwell reached out to Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin when much of the American political establishment was shunning Begin. This odd couple, a Southern Baptist preacher and a Polish Holocaust survivor, became fast friends and remained close until Begin’s death.

When asked why he supported Israel so strongly, Dr. Falwell often mentioned Israel’s democracy and the fact that Israel was a strong American ally in both the Cold War and the War against Terror. Dr. Falwell was also fond of quoting Genesis 12:3. As he once correctly noted:

I firmly believe God has blessed America because America has blessed the Jew. If this nation wants her fields to remain white with grain, her scientific achievements to remain notable, and her freedom to remain intact, America must continue to stand with Israel.

In 2002, Dr. Falwell was interviewed for a segment that 60 Minutes was doing on Christian Zionism. With all of the challenges facing Christians in those days, Dr. Falwell made his top priority crystal clear. He looked in the camera and declared:

There’s nothing that would bring the wrath of the Christian public in this country down on this government like abandoning or opposing Israel in a critical matter.

As we mourn Dr. Jerry Falwell’s passing, let us remember his example. Let us remember what he taught us about the need for Christians to speak out on the urgent issues of our time. And let us remember that he always placed Israel at the forefront of these issues.

Internet Blogs ‘Abuzz’ With Anti-Falwell Hate Speech

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

What is the difference between Christians and atheists? Well, there are too many to list here, but one of the main differences is compassion. When an atheist dies, Christians lament the fact that they refused to believe and went to hell. When a Christian dies, athesists make stupid jokes and nasty blog entries about them. (Note to atheists: This kind of thing does not help your “Atheists are moral people too” argument.)
There are many in the blogosphere that have chosen to make crude jokes about Jerry Falwell since learning of his death yesterday. The truth is that he was a great man of God who stood for what is right and was not afraid to take on the liberal media. Even Larry Flynt, who once hated Falwell, has said that they became great friends.
It takes a pretty small person to ridicule someone after they are no longer on earth to defend themselves. The great thing about it is that Jerry Falwell did not care what atheists thought of his message while he was here and he is certainly not concerned with what they are saying about him now.

The anti-Jerry Falwell venom flowed on weblogs even before the Moral Majority founder’s death was confirmed.

“I knew something had happened because I went outside and I was suddenly surrounded by Munchkins and they were singing,” wrote Aaron on the joemygod blog in one of the comments that actually could be repeated.

Bob Owens of, a blog hosted by the Media Research Center, said he was not a fan of Falwell but was “quite disgusted with the pathological hatred displayed by liberal bloggers in their reactions to his death.”

“Good riddens!!! (sic)” wrote joe on joemygod blog. Richard Weaver added his thoughts: “What a great way to move into the season of gay pride!!!!”

Falwell, who created the influential Liberty University, founded the Moral Majority, a movement that gave fundamentalist and evangelical Christians a voice in the U.S. political process. He was credited with helping elect Ronald Reagan. Falwell died suddenly while at his office at the university.

Communities Urged to Know What Is Being Taught In Their Neighborhood Mosques

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Robert Spencer, a leading expert in the Muslim religion, is asking citizens to be ‘in the know’ when it comes to mosques in their communities. He believes that over 80% of mosques in the United States are teaching that there should be Islamic Rule. Considering the growing Muslim population here in America, we should all be alarmed by this.

One of America’s leading experts on the Muslim religion says it’s very important for members of a community to be well informed about what is going on in local mosques, to make sure they aren’t promoting Islamic supremacy. Robert Spencer believes that more than 80 percent of U.S. mosques are teaching the idea that ultimately there ought to be Islamic rule.

Recently security officials from six European countries and the United States met in Venice, Italy, to support a plan aimed at mapping out mosques on the continent in order to identify imams who preach radical Islam that promotes terrorism. Italy’s foreign minister told reporters that Europe has suffered from the “misuse of mosques, which instead of being places of worship are used for other ends.”

Spencer is director of Jihad Watch, a project of the David Horowitz Freedom Center in Los Angeles. He says even in the U.S. people need to know what is being taught at mosques in their communities.

“Take Muhammad Hisham Kabbani,” says Spencer. “In 1999 [he] testified before a State Department open forum that 80 percent of American mosques were controlled by extremists.” He adds: “Nothing has ever been brought forward since then to refute that.”

Spencer urges citizens to make every effort to block the construction of any mosques that support terrorism. “If it can be established that the mosque has ties to extremist groups, then they ought not be allowed to build it,” he suggests; “and this is something that Americans have not taken advantage of.”

Noah’s Ark Nursery Version – A Bible Story Mural

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: “I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

    Genesis 9:8-17 (New International Version)

Global Warming Scientists Become Skeptics After Reviewing New Research

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Looks like the real scientists may be on to Al Gore.

Following the U.S. Senate’s vote today on a global warming measure (see today’s AP article: Senate Defeats Climate Change Measure,) it is an opportune time to examine the recent and quite remarkable momentum shift taking place in climate science. Many former believers in catastrophic man-made global warming have recently reversed themselves and are now climate skeptics. The names included below are just a sampling of the prominent scientists who have spoken out recently to oppose former Vice President Al Gore, the United Nations, and the media driven “consensus” on man-made global warming.

The list below is just the tip of the iceberg. A more detailed and comprehensive sampling of scientists who have only recently spoken out against climate hysteria will be forthcoming in a soon to be released U.S. Senate report. Please stay tuned to this website, as this new government report is set to redefine the current climate debate.

In the meantime, please review the list of scientists below and ask yourself why the media is missing one of the biggest stories in climate of 2007. Feel free to distribute the partial list of scientists who recently converted to skeptics to your local schools and universities. The voices of rank and file scientists opposing climate doomsayers can serve as a counter to the alarmism that children are being exposed to on a daily basis. (See Washington Post April 16, 2007 article about kids fearing of a “climactic Armageddon” )

The media’s climate fear factor seemingly grows louder even as the latest science grows less and less alarming by the day. (See Der Spiegel May 7, 2007 article: Not the End of the World as We Know It ) It is also worth noting that the proponents of climate fears are increasingly attempting to suppress dissent by skeptics. (See UPI May 10, 2007 article: U.N. official says it’s ‘completely immoral’ to doubt global warming fears )

Planned Parenthood Threatens to Sue Undercover Activist

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Following the standard liberal tactic playbook, when confronted by someone for breaking the law, sue them for pointing it out.

( – Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles is threatening to sue a student pro-life activist who recorded an abortion clinic employee encouraging her to lie about her age to avoid being reported as a victim of statutory rape.

Lila Rose, an 18-year-old sophomore at the University of California Los Angeles, is the founder of a pro-life magazine on campus. In March, she entered a Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles (PPLA) clinic, posing as a pregnant 15-year-old and said her boyfriend was 23 years old.

A girl in that position would be considered a victim of statutory rape because she was under 16, and California law requires clinics such as Planned Parenthood to report cases of statutory rape. In hidden camera video of the encounter, a PPLA employee tells Rose that she could “figure out a birth date that works” to avoid having PPLA notify police.

As Cybercast News Service previously reported, Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California President Kathy Kneer criticized the undercover investigation as “manipulative,” but admitted that the PPLA employee had violated the organization’s policy to follow all applicable laws.

Following news of the undercover operation, Kneer said the organization had reminded all of its employees of the law and its own policies.

On Monday, PPLA sent a cease-and-desist letter to Rose, warning her that “surreptitious” recordings of PPLA employees without consent violates California privacy laws.

California law prohibits recording “intentionally and without the consent of all parties to a confidential communication.” Violating the prohibition could mean a $2,500 fine, plus civil penalties of $5,000 or more.

In the letter, obtained by Cybercast News Service, PPLA president Mary Jane Wagle demands that Rose stop the undercover investigations, remove existing clips from online video sharing site YouTube, and turn the original tapes and all copies over to Planned Parenthood.

“If you do not agree to take these three steps, PPLA will seek all appropriate legal remedies,” Wagle wrote.

Cybercast News Service obtained a copy of the video and audio before the cease-and-desist letter went into effect and has preserved it for our readers’ benefit. (Click here for the full video — a large file that may take time to load. As produced by Rose, the video features clips of a song by rapper Ludacris and singer Mary J. Blige called “Runaway.”)

David French, an attorney with the Christian legal group Alliance Defense Fund, accused Planned Parenthood of “engaging in a campaign…to bully an 18-year-old to distract attention from the fact that their employees were engaging in unlawful behavior.”

French, who is serving as Rose’s legal adviser, said, “Nothing changes the truth of what’s contained in those videotapes. Planned Parenthood was advocating that a patient lie, advocating a way around mandatory reporting requirements for statutory rape, and nothing that Planned Parenthood does as far as trying to bully her regarding the tapes themselves can change those facts.”

“We essentially believe that in 99.9 percent of the time, our employees do follow the laws,” (yet this young lady comes in off the street and is told to break the law. -ed.) Kneer said, adding that “attacks” from “anti-choice extremists” have led to national audits of abortion providers.

“A thorough audit was done across the country and essentially came to the conclusion that providers are complying with state laws and there are no violations,” Kneer said.

She said she couldn’t comment on what happened to the employee in Rose’s tape, but she did say that a clinician who breaks the law is “subject to losing their license. That’s a personal issue for each employee, and as the employer, we want to make sure our clinicians know how to comply with the law and at the same time, make sure that patients can trust us.”

“Nothing we can say will most likely change Lila’s views,” Kneer said, “but I can tell you every day the American public trusts Planned Parenthood and that’s because one in four individuals has been to a Planned Parenthood in their lifetime and they know the quality of healthcare we provide to our patients.”

    ‘Hundreds’ caught on tape

In 2002, an activist group called Life Dynamics ran a campaign in which a woman posing as a 13-year old impregnated by a 22-year-old and called clinics operated by Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation. The group has compiled tapes of workers encouraging girls to lie about their age to avoid being reported as a victim.

The group claims to have collected “over 800 tape recordings that show how Planned Parenthood and NAF workers secure business from victims of statutory rape by undermining parental authority, encouraging children to lie and promising minors that their employees will ignore mandatory reporting laws.”

“[T]ell them your boyfriend is 16 or something because he could get in a lot of trouble,” one employee in Alaska told the caller. A worker in North Carolina told the caller, “I wouldn’t advise you to say anything about your boyfriend being 22, because that’s statutory rape.”

Life Dynamics founder Mark Crutcher told Cybercast News Service Monday that telling girls to lie about their age is standard practice for abortion clinics because “there’s lots of money in this.”

He said the fact that Planned Parenthood threatened to sue Rose is a sign that the organization is interested in continuing the practice rather than reforming. “If they were interested in using this as the opportunity to educate their people then that would be their thrust and how the girl got the tapes would be somewhat irrelevant,” he said.

Crutcher said his organization has never heard a response from Planned Parenthood or the National Abortion Federation. It has never faced legal challenges, he said, because the calls were placed from Texas, which requires only that one participant in the conversation consent to having it taped.

Pali Terrorist Caught on Film Breaking “Truce” – Hit School

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

The pali terrorist have broken the so-called “truce” again. This time they were actually caught on film doing it.

Yesterday I had the privilege of visiting the city of Sderot. Sdert is a city of 20,000 people located directly east of Northern Gaza. In the last seven years, thousands of Kassam rockets have been fired from Palestinian homes, fields and schools onto Sderot. Residents of Sderot live in constant fear of falling rockets with only 15 seconds notice.

It is hard to fully appreciate the toll this bambardment actually takes on a city like Sderot. Here is a clip showing some of the rockets collected at the police department. Keep in mind these are only the ockets that fell recently and have not been discarded yet:

Here are some clips of schools that are only partially protected. As my guide, Noam Bedein from Sderot Media pointed out, the funding tends to run out after only part of the secure barrier is built. Keep in mind, the children in thee schools have only fifteen seconds to run into a protectd part of the building when the siren goes off.

Here is some footage from a house belonging to a family with five children. The home was hit 10 days ago and with no warning a rocket slammed into the roof early Saturday morning. Miraculously, no one was hurt:

After visiting he city we decided to drive to the outskirts of he city to view the Gaza border and see its proximity to Sderot. What was most surprising to me was to see how close Hamas led Gaza was the the power plant in Ashkelon.

As Noam was explaining where the rockets were coming from we heard a loud whoosh an watched a rocket launch from directly in front of us! Immediately after the rocket was launched you could hear the loud chants of Allah Akbar. It was an eerie experience to say the least.

I am sure that I am not alone in telling the people of Sderot that our prayers are with them in this difficult time.

    Original Link.

Please take a few minutes to view the powerful videos on this site. They really bring home what the people of Sderot, Israel have to go through every day.

Israellycool has more details about the injuries and a hit on a school.

So far tonight, 9 Qassam rockets have been fired at Israel, 7 hitting Sderot. A 44-year-old woman has been moderately to seriously wounded, and her 4-year-old son lightly hurt when one of the rockets scored a direct hit on their home. A rocket hit another house in Sderot, and another a schoolyard.

Prime Minister Olmert and Defense Minister Peretz have reportedly given the IDF authorization to respond based on the predetermined standard operating procedures for such a situation. Somehow, I don’t believe this means kicking serious butt. So far, IAF helicopters have fired at the open fields in northern Gaza used by the terror groups to launch the rocket attacks. Peretz intends to meet later this evening with senior IDF and Shin Bet officials, in order to discuss the escalation and possible military actions.

No doubt this latest barrage is meant to distract the palestinians from killing each other. After all, there is nothing that can unify palestinian terrorists like a spot of Jew-killing. But it is important to note that the Qassams are being fired at Israel regularly; tonight’s just happens to be the most serious attack in a while. Elder of Ziyon has been doing a great job tracking the Qassams here.

    Bennie Thompson vs. Terrorism Tipsters

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

As many of you are aware, the attempted terrorist acts against personnel at Ft. Dix by the Fort Dix Six, was prevented because of a teen “John Doe” who reported suspicious activity to the government.
Now Bennie Thompson, the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, a Democrat, wants to allow people to sue “John Does” if the government investigates and decides not to press charges based on the tip.

We’ve all seen this phrase in block letters: “REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY,” followed by a 1-800 number. But if a House Democrat manages to kill a tipster-immunity measure under consideration in Congress this month, people who report suspicious behavior could be sued in civil court if the accused are not charged with a crime. November’s frightened U.S. Airways “John Doe” passengers in Minneapolis are already in the crosshairs.
The lawmaker in question is Bennie Thompson, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee. He thinks that granting tipsters immunity amounts to racial and religious profiling. Yes, that’s the Democrats’ “homeland security” pointman in the House speaking.
For two months, Mr. Thompson has deployed the profiling argument against this measure, tucked into the House transportation-security bill. The good news is that a bipartisan House majority already passed it 304-121 seven weeks ago. But sadly, Mr. Thompson is expected to strip it from the bill. He is expected to be the lead House negotiator in the coming weeks when the bill reaches conference committee, and if he is, he will have considerable sway over the final product.
Mr. Thompson would stand alone among key homeland-security players, all of whom support immunity, if he blocks it. Sen. Joseph Lieberman, the Connecticut Democrat who chairs the Senate committee and ranking Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, both support it. So does Rep. Peter King, New York Republican, the ranking member in the House homeland-security committee.
How damaging it would be to leave tipsters on the hook; there could be few better ways to staunch the flow of information. Think of last week’s Fort Dix tipster and ask yourself whether you would report suspicious behavior in a similar position.
The cutting edge of this debate, the case of the anonymous U.S. Airways passengers in Minneapolis, is not encouraging. These passengers observed six imams refuse to sit in their assigned seats, request metal-bearing seatbelt extensions and speak loud condemnations of the United States. After frightened passengers reported this behavior, the imams were removed from the flight. Troublemakers are routinely removed for less. But the “John Does” were sued along with the airline and regulatory authorities.
Listening to Mr. Thompson’s March 27 floor remarks, it’s clear that he thinks an absence of legal charges against the accused means that the tipsters can be penalized in court. This shifts the precarious balance between liberty and security much too far in one direction.
Think about this Catch-22 for a moment. The government encourages ordinary citizens to pass on potential terrorism information, as it should. But those citizens can now be sued if no charges are filed. One can literally be sued for reporting provocative behavior on an airline. We’re clearly a long way from September 11. What a disgrace.

    Hindus Force Christians to ‘Reconvert’

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

The Hindus, seeing how successful the Muslims have been at “beating up” on people in order to get their way, have started following suit by doing the same thing to Christians.

Hindus have confronted a group of Christian evangelists, forcing them into a nearby village temple to perform a ritual to “reconvert” them to the Hindu religion, according to a new report from the Voice of the Martyrs which is documenting some of the increasing persecution by Hindus around the world.

While this most recent physical attack was reported by VOM sources inside the Indian state of Orissa, other attacks – albeit verbal – also have reached into the United States.

WND recently reported that Hindus have been launching a series of attacks against Christian organizations dedicated to promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A report from the Hindu American Foundation accused a long list of Christian organizations, including some providing aid in India, of promoting hatred.

Muslims Attack Christians Accused of Building Church

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

The so-called religion of peace and tolerance (aka Islam) continues to show it’s great restraint and tolerance by running destroying things. I call it “duplicitous”. I’m sure they call it “peaceful” and “tolerant”. You decide.
    Wake up America!!

Muslims in Egypt this weekend attacked local Christians and set fire to their shops and homes after the Christian community was accused of attempting to build a church.

The riots broke out Friday in the village of Behma, about 50 miles south of Cairo, reportedly after a Muslim sermon at a nearby village mosque accused the town’s Coptic Christian population of planning to construct a church without a permit. The Christians said the sermon was meant to stir violence.

The Egyptian government heavily restricts the construction or enlargement of churches, requiring permits for any Christian building.

The riots this weekend reportedly saw Muslim gangs of more than 500 clash with about 200 Christians. At least 27 Christian-owned houses and shops were damaged by fire, including 10 homes that were completely gutted. Muslims reportedly threw Molotov cocktails at some Christian homes. Sixty-nine Christians were injured, some gravely.

A spokesman for Egypt’s interior ministry confirmed around 500 Muslims had gathered in Behma after Friday prayers and that the entrances to three Christian homes had been set on fire.

According to a Muslim reporter who was on the scene for a top Egyptian daily, Egyptian police forces did not immediately step in to stop the violence.

“There was an atmosphere of terror for the Christians of Behma. The police could have intervened early, but they seemed to let the clashes go for some hours before stepping in,” said the reporter, who spoke to WND on condition his name be withheld. He said he was banned from filing a report for his newspaper.

Security forces ultimately reportedly arrested 59 Muslims, who were charged with arson and with spreading sectarian strife.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the Behma Christian were enlarging or building a church. Christians in the town currently pray from a house that doubles as a worship center.

The Coptic Church, a major Christian community in Egypt, reportedly dates back to the origins of Christianity. Christians were the majority in Egypt until several centuries after the Arab conquest of the seventh century.

Christians now comprise about 10 percent of Egypt’s 75 million population, but Christians are effectively restricted from senior government, military or educational positions, and any worship services require the permission of the government.
