Female Pakistani Minister Resigns Over Hug

Monday, May 21st, 2007

The ever tolerant Muslims show their tolerance by forcing the tourism minister (a female) to resign…because she hugged her sky diving coach.

Pakistan’s woman tourism minister tendered her resignation today after hardline Islamic clerics accused her of obscenity for hugging her instructor after a charity parachute jump.

Nilofar Bakhtiar, the Federal Minister for Tourism, was pictured wearing a brightly coloured jumpsuit and hugging her instructor after a tandem jump to raise money for child victims of the earthquake that struck Pakistan in October 2005.

The images provoked the wrath of clerics in Islamabad, who accused Bakhtiar of posing in an obscene manner and violating the Islamic moral norms.

A religious court set up by the clerics at a radical mosque in Islamabad issued a fatwa, or religious edict, against Bakhtiar when the photographs first appeared in local newspapers last month.

They urged the government to punish her and fire her from the Cabinet. Bakhtiar failed to win the support of Cabinet colleagues and the government appeared to cave in to the demands of the militants.

As she announced her intention to resign today, Bakhtiar complained of a campaign of intimidation against her.

David and Goliath – A Bible Story Mural

Monday, May 21st, 2007

“David said to the Philistine, ‘You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.’

As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground.

So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.”

1 Samuel 17:45-50 (New International Version)

Carter Says His Comments About Bush Were Careless

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Jimmy Carter recently said, “I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history.” Now he says that his comments were careless and misunderstood. I think it would be hard for anyone to misunderstand the comment – it was pretty clear. The funny thing is that his comment was like the pot calling the kettle black. The Bush administration the worst in history? To see whose administration was the worst in history, Carter need look no further than his own mirror.

Former President Jimmy Carter on Monday said his comments over the weekend about the Bush administration were “careless.”

Carter was quoted Saturday as saying “I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history.”

The Georgia Democrat said Bush had overseen an “overt reversal of America’s basic values” as expressed by previous administrations, including that of his own father, former President George H.W. Bush.

Interviewed on the TODAY Show about the comments, Carter said, “They were maybe careless or misinterpreted.” He said he “certainly was not talking personally about any president.”

When pressed by NBC’s Meredith Vieira as to whether he was saying his remarks were careless or reckless, the former president said, “I think they were, yes, because they were interpreted as comparing this whole administration to all other administrations.”

Carter said he was answering a question about the foreign policy of former President Richard Nixon, as compared with that of the current administration. He said he wasn’t comparing the Bush administration with all those through American history. But in comparison to Nixon’s, the Bush administration’s foreign policy “was much worse,” Carter said.

Illegals Say Leaving US Not An Option

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Maybe I am alone on this point, but I feel strongly that the illegals in this country should be willing to play by the rules or not be allowed to stay. There are thousands of people who are spending precious time and money to get here legally. Everyone should have to go through the proper channels and background checks – no exceptions. To do it any other way is to make a mockery of our existing laws and is inviting trouble.

Francisco Gimenez risked his life to get into United States. He is not planning to leave in a hurry.
Like many members of Los Angeles’ immigrant community, the 27-year-old butcher is skeptical about proposed legislation intended to offer illegal workers a path to citizenship.

Under reforms announced last week, Gimenez would be required to return to Mexico at some point in order to secure the right to work legally in the United States, possibly paying up to 5,000 dollars in fines additionally.

Gimenez fears however that once he leaves America he won’t be allowed back in. “I don’t really understand that much about the bill, but I’d have to be crazy to go back to Mexico to apply for visa now that I am already in the US,” he says. “They wouldn’t give me a visa there.”

Persuading workers like Gimenez that is in their interests to leave appears to be one of the biggest challenges facing US authorities, as they try to bring the country’s 12-million strong illegal labor force out of the shadows.

In factories, markets, car-washes and laundromats, illegal workers in Los Angeles Hispanic community the same refrain: “Going home is not an option.”

Gimenez is one of the thousands who put their lives in the hands of human-traffickers known as ‘coyotes’ to sneak across the United States’ southern border with Mexico.

Often immigrants trying to cross the desert are robbed or murdered by bandits and rival gangs. But the rewards on offer for those willing to take the risk are immense.

Al-Qaida Recruiting Black Bombers

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Al-Qaida is aggressively recruiting black Americans for suicide operations against the homeland, say FBI analysts who have reviewed recent videotaped messages from the terror group’s leaders.

A speech released May 5 by Osama bin Laden’s deputy confirms earlier fears that African-Americans are the No. 1 recruiting target for the next generation of attacks. Al-Qaida has been trying to lower its Arab profile to reduce the odds that its terror cells will be subjected to security scrutiny.

“Federal and local law enforcement authorities should be aware that al-Qaida terrorists may not appear Arab,” warns a recent Homeland Security intelligence report obtained by WND. “Non-Arab al-Qaida operatives could find it easier to avoid unwanted scrutiny since they may not fit typical profiles.”

In the latest message, al-Qaida No. 2 Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri clearly seeks to sow political and racial discontent among African-Americans. He makes frequent references to what he calls the “martyr” Malcolm X, and says “I want blacks in America to know that we are waging jihad to lift oppression from all mankind.”

OK, let’s stop here for a bit. Malcolm X was killed by fellow Muslims due to a rift between him and the Nation of Islam group. How does that make him a “martyr”?
“Waging jihad to lift oppression from all mankind”. The most oppressive religion in the world offering to “lift oppression”??

Zawahiri encourages African-Americans to follow the example of Malcolm X, a.k.a. al-Hajj Malik al-Shabaaz, who he says was not afraid to sacrifice his life to fight American “oppression.”

According to a transcript of the hour-long screed, Zawahiri said this is “the culture which the struggler and martyr Malcom X (may Allah have mercy upon him) fought against when he told his repressed black brothers in America, ‘If you’re not ready to die for it, take the word “freedom” out of your vocabulary.'”

“Freedom is something that you have to do for yourself,” he quotes Malcolm X as as saying. “The price of freedom is death.”

Zawahiri, again citing the teachings of Malcolm X, suggests that black Muslims who do not rise up against America are no better than “house slaves.”

It’s the first time al-Qaida has identified Malcolm X as a fellow Islamic “struggler and martyr,” analysts say.

“Zawahiri’s focus on race relations may be benefiting from the input of a U.S. citizen named Adam Yahiye Gadahn – a.k.a Azaam al-Amriki – who is a senior member of al-Qaida’s media committee,” said former CIA analyst Michael Scheuer, now an analyst for the Jamestown Foundation, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank specializing in national security.

“Indeed,” he added, “the deftness and political timeliness of Zawahiri’s statements suggest that al-Qaida may have more than a single American advising it.”

Shocker: Creation Museum Drawing Criticism

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Ken Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis, is drawing criticism for his museum based on the Biblical account of creation. Ham points out that countless books and museums are dedicated to teaching evolution and these people are worried about one museum that teaches the truth of creationism. Maybe these “scientists” are worried that people WILL learn the truth of how our world was created.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – A museum where Adam and Eve share exhibit space with dinosaurs is drawing criticism from groups of science educators as it nears completion.

The $27 million Creation Museum, a few miles south of Cincinnati, tells a biblical version of the Earth’s history, asserting that the planet is just a few thousand years old and man and the giant lizards once coexisted.

The educators say its exhibits, inspired by the Old Testament, are geared toward children but lack scientific evidence.

“When they try to confuse (kids) about what is science and what isn’t science, scientists have an obligation to speak out,” said Lawrence Krauss, an author and physics professor at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. “There’s no doubt these are documented lies.”

Krauss has signed one of two petitions circulated by national groups last week that challenge the facility’s exhibits.

The museum, built by the nonprofit ministry Answers in Genesis with private donations, includes a 200-seat special-effects theater, a 40-foot-tall depiction of Noah’s Ark and robotic, roaring dinosaurs. The 60,000 square-foot facility in rural Petersburg, Ky., will open to the public next week on Memorial Day.

Answers in Genesis founder Ken Ham said the vast majority of natural history museums and textbooks available to students are devoted to teaching evolution.

“And they’re worried about one creation museum?” he said. “I think they’re really concerned that we’re going to get information out that they don’t want people to hear.”

Ham said critics need to tour the museum before making judgments

“Jerry Falwell and That Melting Iceberg” by Todd Strandberg

Monday, May 21st, 2007

The sudden death of Rev. Jerry Falwell has brought to mind a growing problem in the end-time Christian community. We are losing leaders, and there are none of equal stature to take their place. I envision a small iceberg of conservativism that is steadily melting away as it drifts along in this vast sea of atheistic liberalism.

Jerry Falwell had some faults, but they were far outweighed by the good he did for the cause of Christ. He labored to slow our nation’s moral slide, he helped elect political leaders who would respect biblical values, and he built a university to help pass along our Christian heritage to the next generation.

In recent years, Liberty University has become a haven for many key evangelical teachings. It is the center for pre-tribulationism. Some of the top names in prophecy are members of the Liberty staff. Tommy Ice, who is probably the best academic writer on the subject of prophecy, teaches at Liberty. Ed Hindson is a leading prophecy speaker, and he is the vice president of the university. Tim LaHaye gave Falwell $5 million to add a school of prophecy to the university. Another noteworthy person who is tied to Liberty is Ergun Caner, a professor of Christian theology who is highly respected for his fearless rebuttal of Islam and other false religions.

The reason Liberty has such a strong connection to prophecy is that so many other so-called Christian institutions have already turned their backs on the Bible. With so many of our spiritual eggs in one basket, we could be facing major disaster if the death of Falwell causes Liberty to stumble.

Dallas Theological Seminary is probably the most shocking example of how the enemy is invading our Bible-teaching institutions. Not too long ago, DTS was the Mecca of education concerning end-time prophecy. I don’t know how long the process took, but one day it was revealed that the faculty of DTS no longer believed that prophecy was being fulfilled today. The school has become overrun by progressive dispensationalism, a doctrine that says there will be no future kingdom on earth, and it considers modern Israel to be the work of man and not of God. It also has no need for a pre-trib rapture. Recently, there was a big controversy at DTS when it was revealed that a professor at DTS no longer believed the Bible was divinely inspired.

I don’t mean to just single out DTS. This same type of nonsense has infected Moody Bible Institute, Talbot Seminary, Biola College, Dallas Baptist University, and a number of other Bible colleges.

I don’t see any indication that Liberty University is going to follow Dallas Theological Seminary into prophetic doctrinal darkness. It has a more conservative board of directors, so I doubt that will happen. The greatest danger is that the new leadership will decide to step back from the national spotlight. Every time Falwell commented on controversial issues, the liberal media constantly set out to chop his head off.

Most people would say they didn’t need that kind of grief. What made Falwell special is that he stood for righteousness despite what people thought of him. Many of his attackers were fellow Christians. When I read that former President Jimmy Carter once said about Falwell, “In a very Christian way, as far as I’m concerned, he can go to hell,” I thought it was an urban legend, but apparently it’s true.

We’ve already seen a good example of a withdrawal from participating in a dialogue with the media at Bob Jones University. For many years, BJU was very active in the culture war. After repeatedly being the punch bag for liberals, the current administration has decided it doesn’t want to fight anyone. University President Stephen Jones recently told Newsweek he no longer wishes to play a political role. He also said, “The gospel is for individuals. The main message we have is to individuals. We’re not here to save the culture.” In a 2005 Washington Post interview, Jones admitted he was embarrassed by “some of the more vitriolic comments” made by his predecessors.

The devil knows fully well that once he corrupts the younger generation, he can just wait for the troublemakers to die off. A random sampling of Christian evangelical leaders shows that Satan doesn’t have too much time to wait. Here are a few names and ages of leading evangelicals in America: James Dobson, Focus on the Family President, 71; John Hagee, pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, 67; Dave Hunt, a leading Christian apologist, 81; Tim LaHaye, producer of the “Left Behind” series, also 81; J. I. Packer, a leading evangelical theologian, 79; and Hal Lindsey, the author of The Late Great Planet Earth, 76.

Without good watchmen, there is nothing to prevent our world from sinking deeper into the quicksand of apostasy. We have plenty of young and vibrant watchmen who tell us how to be happy, rich, and carefree. I’ll let the Word of God comment on their usefulness:

“His watchmen [are] blind: they are all ignorant, they [are] all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber” (Isa. 56:10).

Meat Plant Refuses Muslim Employee Demands for Prayer Breaks

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Well, at last. Someone actually willing to stand up to the Islamo-Thugs. I’ll highlight two key statements in the article below.

The founder of a pro-Israel ministry is praising a meat packing plant for refusing to cave into the demands of Muslim workers who wanted to take extra breaks in order to perform Islamic rituals. Dozens of Muslim workers walked off the job at a Swift and Company meat packing plant in Grand Island, Nebraska, because their prayer times were not accommodated.

A company spokesman says breaks are governed by a labor contract and all employees are told about them during orientation for new employees. The head of the union local also said the contract makes no provisions for prayer.

Jan Markell is founder of Olive Tree Ministries. “Since when did a population in America of one to two percent start changing the way 98 percent of the rest of Americans have to live?” she asks.

“We don’t see the Swedish immigrants doing this. We don’t see even Jewish cultural things being thrown in the face of the rest of America’s non-Jewish population or — you name it — the Irish. When they come to America, they become American. They blend in, they assimilate. Not so with the Muslims.”

Markell says while she praises the meat packing company for its stance, too many accommodations are being made for Muslims in her own home state. “Three cheers for [Swift and Company],” she says. “But, see, that does not happen in the late, great state of Minnesota. Where I come from, here we have about eight or ten issues where the state caves and gives in to them.”

The Olive Tree Ministries spokeswoman says she is always heartened when she hears that some state or location refuses to cave. “But more and more, they are caving,” she asserts.

Markell says her home state of Minnesota has gone out of its way to accommodate Muslim demands, which is why she calls it the “Islamic Republic of Minnesota.”

Hamas Says Israel Will Be Wiped Off the Map

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Another day another threat from terrorists. Hamas says that they will use rockets and missiles to wipe Israel off the map.

Voices from within Hamas called out loudly for Israel’s destruction on Monday, following an IAF attack on a Hamas lawmaker’s home Sunday night as part of ongoing IDF operations against Kassam rocket fire.

A senior Hamas leader in Gaza declared Monday morning that it was signed and sealed within his party that Israel would be wiped off the map and replaced by a Palestinian State, Israel Radio reported. He added that rockets and missiles were the means of removing Israel from the picture.

Meanwhile, a Hamas-affiliated group in the PA parliament called for suicide attacks and other violence against IDF troops in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for the strikes. The organization’s armed wing, Izzadin Kassam, threatened the same and warned Sderot residents that even fleeing to Ashkelon would not protect them from rocket attacks.

According to Army Radio, IDF troops operating in Gaza were ordered to keep alert for possible kidnapping attempts or attacks on soldiers.

Muslim Paramilitary Compounds Springing Up Around America

Monday, May 21st, 2007

For those who don’t quite understand this, let me equate a key word here. “Paramilitary” means “Armed Terrorist”.
This really should be more of a concern for all of us. This isn’t a bunch of overweight, middle aged men shooting paint balls at each other in the forest. These are well coordinated and funded training centers for Islamic terrorist, right here in your back yard. That should really be worrying people a lot.

A U.S. defense analyst and author says Americans should be very concerned about some radical Muslim paramilitary compounds that have sprung up around the country and that are surrounded with “No Trespassing” signs.

Greg Copley, president of the International Strategic Studies Association (ISSA), says the compounds are often populated with former U.S. convicts who were converted to Islam in prison. These convicts, he contends, are connected to a Pakistani organization.

“Islamberg in New York, Ahmedabad in Virginia, and Holy Islamville in South Carolina, and so on are places which have been formed largely by Jamaat ul-Fuqra,” Copley notes, “which is a fundamentalist jihadist movement, which has been involved in terrorist activity and supporting terrorist activity.”

The U.S. government has been monitoring the organization’s activities, the ISSA official says. “The U.S. government, for example, claimed that ul-Fuqra members were involved in more than a dozen bombings and arson attacks during the 1980s and 1990s,” he points out, and that members were “possibly responsible for a couple dozen homicides, and possibly linked to the murder of Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter who was killed in Pakistan.”

Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which means “community of the impoverished,” recruits converts from the U.S. prison system, the defense analyst says. “They’re a very big international group,” he asserts. “They do have connections to fundamentalist groups in Pakistan.”

There is also evidence that ul-Fuqra may have been linked to shoe-bomber Richard Reid, Copley adds. He says he believes U.S. authorities should thoroughly investigate and keep a watch on the activities of these Muslim compounds that are located in America but connected to a Pakistani jihadist movement.
