Charlton Heston, Actor, Conservative, Dead at 84

Monday, April 7th, 2008

I have always admired actor Charlton Heston for his great acting. He was also a staunch conservative who was involved in support of second amendment right to keep and bare arms and anti-abortion legislation. He will be sorely missed.

LOS ANGELES (April 6) – Charlton Heston, who won the 1959 best actor Oscar as the chariot-racing “Ben-Hur” and portrayed Moses, Michelangelo, El Cid and other heroic figures in movie epics of the ’50s and ’60s, has died. He was 84.

The actor died Saturday night at his home in Beverly Hills with his wife Lydia at his side, family spokesman Bill Powers said. He declined to comment on the cause of death or provide further details.

“Charlton Heston was seen by the world as larger than life. He was known for his chiseled jaw, broad shoulders and resonating voice, and, of course, for the roles he played,” Heston’s family said in a statement. “No one could ask for a fuller life than his. No man could have given more to his family, to his profession, and to his country.”

Heston revealed in 2002 that he had symptoms consistent with Alzheimer’s disease, saying, “I must reconcile courage and surrender in equal measure.”

With his large, muscular build, well-boned face and sonorous voice, Heston proved the ideal star during the period when Hollywood was filling movie screens with panoramas depicting the religious and historical past.

“I have a face that belongs in another century,” he often remarked.

Quote of the Day

Monday, April 7th, 2008

“Apparently Ted Kennedy is at least smart enough to recognize that most Americans are still not ready for women to be forced to share public restrooms, locker rooms, and shower facilities with gender-confused men who like to wear dresses.”
-Matt Barber, policy director for cultural issues at Concerned Women for America in response to the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, otherwise known as ENDA, introduced by Ted Kennedy.
This bill, which passed the House last November, would ban alleged “workplace discrimination” against individuals based on their sexual orientation, quite possibly allowing men who are “confused” about their gender to use women’s public restrooms and locker rooms.

Clinton (Hillary) Lies Yet Again

Monday, April 7th, 2008

I’m convinced this woman can’t tell the truth. Her lying borders on being a psychosis. This rates right up there with her Bosnian sniper story. The presidency will be really safe in her hands…NOT!!! Check out her latest episode of “I mis-spoke”.

April 6, 2008 — Hillary Rodham Clinton “misspoke” again on the campaign trail – and a distraught Ohio family is furious about it.

Several times in recent months while talking about her plan for universal health care, Clinton told a tale of woe about a young pregnant woman who sought medical care at a local hospital and was turned away for lack of insurance – and both she and the baby died.

But the family of the 35-year-old woman – Trina Bachtel – says the story is simply not true.

“Trina had good insurance. She was a good girl, and she worked hard. That story made her look like she was a welfare bum,” her 80-year-old grandmother May Mayle told The Post yesterday.

Mayle confirmed that Bachtel died last August from complications related to a late-pregnancy miscarriage, but said she was never turned away from a hospital.

“The family is real torn up about it. I can’t understand why they’d make her out to look like she was so unstable,” said Mayle.

As Clinton told the story during campaign rallies, the young, pregnant woman in difficulty was turned down for treatment because she was uninsured and couldn’t pay $100 up front.

She didn’t name Bachtel or the hospital involved, but after the Washington Post ran a story identifying her and where she worked – a Pizza Hut in Pomeroy, Ohio – local papers made it front-page news, horrifying her still-grieving family.

“Of course she would have had $100,” fumed Mayle. “Her boyfriend’s real angry about it, too, because he had good insurance. They were going to get married, but worked so hard they couldn’t find the time.”

Evolution’s Big Problems, Part 3

Monday, April 7th, 2008

In two previous posts, I have discussed many of the problems facing the theory of evolution.
Today, I would like to mention what I call the “design signature”.
Back in 2006, a team of biologist reported that “…the core machinery for initiating DNA replication is the same for all three domains of life – Archaea, Bacteria and Eukarya.”
Their contention; since all life shares a common DNA, it must have evolved from the same starting point.
I contend that it’s because we all share a common creator and we are seeing His design signature.
What is a design signature, you may ask? It is the common mode of design built into something by it’s designer. For example, in engineering, we can often tell who designed a device by seeing how he/she arrived at his/her solution and implemented it. This engineer will typically carry some common design features from one design to another. I call this the “design signature”.
As one studies how living plants and creatures are “made”, it is not difficult to see the “design signature” of a common designer. When one part “worked”, we can see where it was used over and over again in other designs.
Now you might say “What a bunch of hooey”. I would ask you though; how is my example any less believable than the claims made by evolutionist?
They want us to believe that we all came from a pool of warm goo (primordial soup) and that everything is still evolving. If this is true, where are the intermediate forms? They would be happening as we speak, and yet out of all the thousands of different types of animals in the world today, there is not one example of a creature evolving into a completely different creature. The fossil record should hold thousands of examples of the intermediate forms, yet to date, no one has found even one.
The evolutionist “cherry pick” the available data, find one thing that can possibly be presented as “proof” of evolution and trumpet that the debate is over. They are so panicked to find just one shred of evidence to support their position that they will accept any fossil evidence. So far, all of the “missing link” fossils have proven to be mistakes or even worse, frauds. The most recent fraud was a dinosaur with feathers. This “fossil” from China was an elaborate hoax made by using actual dinosaur bone fossils and mixing them with newer bird bone fossils. It was even presented as the feature article in the National Geographic Magazine before the hoax was uncovered.
Over the course of these three post I have made, it should have become very apparent to most everyone that the theory of evolution is grievously flawed at best or an outright lie at worse.
Until the evolutionist come up with some hard data to support their theory, then they have no right to shut down discussion and debate on intelligent design and creation.

Evolution Fraud.
