“Chemical Weapons Could Bring A Mushroom Cloud” by Michael G. Mickey

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Among all the jubilation of the Mediterranean Union coming into existence, bringing with it the hope of Middle East peace coming soon, it’s hard to imagine that we could turn the news on tomorrow morning and hear that Damascus has been vaporized by a nuclear weapon but it is a possibility as I’m about to demonstrate.

Israel National News has two stories online right now indicating Hizbullah has the ingredients necessary to arm their rockets with weapons of mass destruction and is preparing to do so soon.

The first article, entitled “Kuwaiti Paper: Hizbullah Arming Rockets With Gas”, states “Hizbullah has acquired the chemicals needed to make chemical weapons such as nerve gas or mustard gas from North Korean suppliers and is allegedly preparing to arm its Katyusha rockets with chemical warheads. The Kuwaiti paper also declared that the assistance of Syria and Iran was crucial for Hizbullah’s efforts. The reports were based on information provided to al-Siyasa by Syrian opposition figures in the United States.”

The second, entitled “Hizbullah Gears Up For War, Olmert Asks for UN Help”, echoes the first but goes into some detail concerning how Hizbullah has rearmed itself in spite of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 with the peacekeeping force deployed in Lebanon by the United Nations doing nothing to stop it for the most part.

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak is quoted as saying the following in that article (emphasis added mine), “[UN Security Council] Resolution 1701 is being violated. Hizbullah continues to get stronger with the ongoing and intimate assistance of the Syrians.”

What does this tell us?

There is much we can glean from the two news stories linked above.

The first that comes to mind is WHY Bible prophecy tells us the “prince that shall come” (the prophesied Antichrist) is going to have to confirm (or make strong) the prophesied seven-year peace plan foretold in Bible prophecy.

Without genuine teeth being put toward peace being kept in the Middle East, this is what is going to happen time after time, in no small part because the United Nations never dedicates its resources to anything other than stopping Israel from defending itself!

As far as doing anything to stop Israel’s enemies? The U.N. is impotent. Worse than impotent!

Since UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) arrived in Lebanon, Hizbullah has been working, both around the clock and the U.N.’s so-called peacekeepers, entrenching themselves in hardened bunkers while potentially preparing a WMD attack! Had UNIFIL not been in Israel’s way, it’s highly likely the situation may have been far less dangerous than it presently is for all concerned. We can be sure of it, in fact.

The world should’ve let Israel cut the head off the snake that is Hizbullah back in 2006, but it didn’t. As a result, chemical weapons are potentially in the hands of Hizbullah that bring with them the possibility of a mushroom cloud rising in the Middle East. My guess? If that should occur, the fireball will rise from what is today known as Damascus, currently the world’s longest continuously inhabited city according to many scholars.

Isaiah 17:1: The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

In closing, isn’t it interesting how little play in the news the possibility that Hizbullah has chemical weapons and is preparing a WMD attack on Israel is getting? The birth of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s twins will get far more coverage.

FADC Says “Hand Out Gas Masks Immediately”

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Israeli civilians are unprepared for nonconventional attacks, warned prominent members of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Tuesday afternoon, blasting the defense establishment for ignoring calls to fix the situation.

Committee chairman MK Tzahi Hanegbi (Kadima) and MK Yuval Steinitz (Likud), chairman of the Subcomittee for Readiness, held a press conference during which they called on the government to begin immediate distribution of gas masks to the public. They complained that although Steinitz’s subcommittee published a report on the subject a year ago, no steps had been taken to fix the problems.

“The recommendations published in the report were not carried out,” said Steinitz. “There is a possibility for increased conflict on the borders, and failure to carry out the recommendations endangers lives.”

When the report on home front readiness in the face of nonconventional threats was published in 2007, the government agreed to comply with the findings, which included distributing gas masks to civilians according to “priority regions.” The first of those groups, which was supposed to have received gas masks by the end of 2007, consisted of northern residents and reservists’ families.

“If anything happens, the Winograd Report will pale in comparison to this failure,” warned Steinitz. “The danger of the use of chemical weapons – especially by Syria, which now holds the dubious record of most chemical country in the world – can not be ruled out.”

Hanegbi was more cautious, arguing that the risk of chemical attack was low, but adding that “even unlikely scenarios could occur, and thus we must urgently act to hand out the masks.”

Anglican Bishops Boycott Conference

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

I am sure that satan is having a field day because he has infiltrated the ranks of the Anglican church in a huge way. What does satan love more than division in the church? When churches accept, condone and encourage blatant sin.

A quarter of the world’s Anglican bishops boycotted on Wednesday a once-in-a- decade gathering of church leaders in a row over gay clergy.

Church officials said that 230 of the 880 bishops in the Anglican worldwide communion were staying away from the Lambeth conference being staged in the English cathedral city of Canterbury, spiritual home of the deeply divided church.

Bishops from Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda, who boast some of the fastest-expanding congregations in the Anglican church, were among those who pledged to snub the conference.

Liberal and conservative clergy have been brought to the brink of schism over the ordination in 2003 of Gene Robinson in New Hampshire, the first openly gay bishop in the church’s 450-year history.

Conservative Anglican leaders staged their own conference in Jerusalem last month at which they pledged to form a council of bishops to provide an alternative to churches who they say are preaching a “false gospel” of sexual immorality.

The Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) said member churches would continue sponsoring breakaway conservative parishes in the liberal western member countries and called for a separate conservative province in North America.

Hezbollah Turns Over Bodies of Israeli Soldiers in Prisoner Swap

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

OK, let me get this straight; Hezbollah gives back the bodies of two Israeli soldiers and in return gets five live terrorist, one of whom is guilty of killing an Israeli toddler by repeatedly smashing her head with his rifle. This after shooting her dad to death in front of her.
Does anyone else have problem with this?

ROSH HANIKRA, Israel — Lebanon’s Hezbollah guerrillas turned over to Israel two coffins containing the bodies of Israeli soldiers captured two years ago, setting in motion a dramatic prisoner exchange between the bitter enemies Wednesday.

The U.N.-mediated swap closes a painful chapter for Israel, which launched a war in 2006 against Hezbollah in response to the soldiers’ capture in a cross-border raid. It is likely to be a significant boost for Hezbollah at a time when it is trying to rebuild a reputation tarnished after its guerrillas turned their guns on fellow Lebanese in May.

After the bodies handed over by Hezbollah were confirmed to be those of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, Israel was to turn over five Lebanese prisoners — including a militant convicted in what is perceived here as a monstrous attack.

“Flying Imams” Want Airline Security Information

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Some of you might remember the case of the “Flying Imams”. For those of you who don’t here’s a recap:
Several imams were removed from US Airways Flight 300 on November 20, 2006 when they began to engage in what has been called “suspicious activity”.
Many of us in the Blogshere have long speculated that it was a setup to further advance the Muslim agenda of spreading Jihad by any means necessary. The involvement of CAIR (the terrorist funding front group) has added additional credence to this theory.
Now we see yet another facet of why this may have happened.

Omar Mohammedi, attorney for the imams, and President of the Board of Directors for the New York Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, went first. His motion was for the judge, Arthur Boylan, to compel US Airways to divulge its training manuals, and information on its security procedures, so that they could show that the security procedures were not followed down to the last jot and tittle when the imams were removed from US Airways Flight 300 on November 20, 2006.

Those of you who are following this case closely might be thinking “Arthur Boylan? What happened to Ann Montgomery?” The PACER database reports that Ann Montgomery is the presiding judge, and Arthur Boylan is a referral judge. Ann Montgomery will still be the judge at the trial in 2009.

When I realized what Mohammedi was asking for, I was briefly dazed, as I heard the sound in my mind’s ear of a thousand bloggers screaming something to the effect of “Ok, let me get this straight. A group of imams led by a fundraiser for a Muslim charity (the Holy Land Foundation) which was shut down by the Treasury Department for its connections to Hamas, is asking a judge to compel an airline to divulge its security procedures. And everyone’s OK with that?!?”

Colombian Military Used Red Cross Emblem in Rescue

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

It’s been pointed out that if this is true, it could be a violation of the Geneva Convention.
It’s also been pointed out how when the Pali terrorist used ambulances to carry weapons, schools and mosque as weapons caches and sniper firing post, the Red Cross has been very silent about it.
I think they need to take this in context. The hostages were rescued. That is the most important fact of this story, despite what liberal CNN says.

BOGOTA, Colombia (CNN) — Colombian military intelligence used the Red Cross emblem in a rescue operation in which leftist guerrillas were duped into handing over 15 hostages, according to unpublished photographs and video viewed by CNN.
What seems to be part of a red cross is seen on a bib worn by a man involved in the rescue in this official image.

What seems to be part of a red cross is seen on a bib worn by a man involved in the rescue in this official image.

Photographs of the Colombian military intelligence-led team that spearheaded the rescue, shown to CNN by a confidential military source, show one man wearing a bib with the Red Cross symbol. The military source said the three photos were taken moments before the mission took off to persuade the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia rebels to release the hostages to a supposed international aid group for transport to another rebel area.

Such a use of the Red Cross emblem could constitute a “war crime” under the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law and could endanger humanitarian workers in the future, according to international legal expert Mark Ellis, executive director of the International Bar Association.

“It is clear that the conventions are very strict regarding use of the symbol because of what it represents: impartiality, neutrality. The fear is that any misuse of the symbol would weaken that neutrality and would weaken the [Red Cross],” Ellis said.Video Watch possible misuse of emblem »

“If you use the emblem in a deceitful way, generally the conventions say it would be a breach. [Based on the information as explained to me,] the way that the images show the Red Cross emblem being used could be distinguished as a war crime, ” he added.

The unpublished video and photos of the mission, hailed internationally as a daring success, were shown to CNN by a military source looking to sell the material. CNN declined to buy the material at the price being asked; it was therefore unable to verify the authenticity of the images.

Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and his top generals have categorically denied that international humanitarian symbols were used in the July 2 rescue mission that freed the prized hostages, who included former presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt, three U.S. military contractors and 11 Colombian police and soldiers.

The hostages had endured years of harsh captivity and deprivation in jungle camps since being captured or kidnapped. Some were held for as long as 10 years.

The rescue ruse also included bogus communications, sent electronically and by human couriers, to convince FARC rebels that superiors were ordering them to hand over hostages to the group posing as aid workers for transfer to another rebel camp.

On Monday, government and military spokesmen reiterated that all logos and emblems used in the operation had been invented and that no genuine symbols had been used.

Misuse of the Red Cross emblem is governed by articles 37, 38 and 85 of Additional Protocol One to the Geneva Conventions, the international rules of war. The articles prohibit “feigning of protected status by the use of … emblems” of neutral parties and say that such misuses are considered breaches of international humanitarian law that qualify as a “war crime.”
