Archeology Proves Bible Once Again

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

I’m going to reiterate once again that there has yet to be even one example where archeology has disproved an account from the Bible.

WASHINGTON — The fictional King Solomon’s Mines held a treasure of gold and diamonds, but archaeologists say the real mines may have supplied the ancient king with copper.

Researchers led by Thomas Levy of the University of California, San Diego, and Mohammad Najjar of Jordan’s Friends of Archaeology, discovered a copper-production center in southern Jordan that dates to the 10th century B.C., the time of Solomon’s reign.

The discovery occurred at Khirbat en-Nahas, which means “ruins of copper” in Arabic.

Located south of the Dead Sea, the region was known in the Old Testament as Edom.

Research at the site in the 1970s and 1980s indicated that metalworking began there in the 7th century B.C., long after Solomon.

But Levy and Najjar dug deeper and were able to date materials such as seeds and sticks to the 10th century B.C.

“We can’t believe everything ancient writings tell us,” Levy said in a statement. “But this research represents a confluence between the archaeological and scientific data and the Bible.”

“The Realities of a New World Order” by Michael Mickey

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

I woke up this morning to find an e-mail in my inbox from a deacon of my former church in Virginia, Eric K., the topic of today’s commentary.

Eric told me his wife had watched and recorded video of a WSLS TV interview of Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden when it first aired on the Roanoke Virginia NBC affiliate’s station during a 6 p.m. broadcast. In the midst of the speech, Eric indicated his wife heard Joe Biden say the Democratic party had adjusted to “the realities of a new world order.”

Eric, who I’m assuming wasn’t home at the time, went to the WSLS TV website and watched video posted there of WSLS TV anchor Jay Warren interviewing Biden. When the video reached the point where Biden had said the Democratic party had adjusted to the realities of a new world order, the video had obviously been re-filmed so Joe could change what he’d said to indicate that the Democratic party had adjusted to the realities of a new world situation.

Here’s where this story gets funny. If you go to their website right now, as soon as you see this blog entry please, you will note the following written in the transcript of the interview between Biden and Warren located below the video on the page linked above:

WARREN: “Many of the polls show that your ticket may be headed to victory in November and that the Democrats may pick up a larger number of seats in the House and perhaps win 10 seats for a filibuster proof Senate. Republicans are beginning to make the argument that that means Democratic dominance in Washington, unchecked power. Is that a good thing?”

BIDEN: “First of all, we’re no where near there. We have 8 days to go. This is the most important election in the public’s life. They are looking at these races very closely. I think this is going to be much closer than everyone thinks it is. Second, with regard to the Democratic Party, this is a new Democratic Party not the party of the 70s and 80s. This is a party that has adjusted to the realities of a new world order.” He went on to say, “I think there is going to be a collaborative effort to make the 21st century an American century.”

Leave a blog comment as evidence

Everyone who goes to the WSLS page linked above who sees the video and transcript, please leave a comment on the blog in agreement with the fact that the video shows Joe Biden saying the Democratic party has accepted the realities of a new world situation in contrast to what the transcript reveals, which is Joe Biden originally said the Democratic party has accepted the realities of a new world order.

Right now the media in all its forms, from mainstream outlets to local media stations like Roanoke Virginia’s WSLS TV 10, is doing everything possible to ensure that nothing harmful to the cause of Senator Obama’s White House bid is fed to the public. This is why I’m asking my readers to acknowledge what they see with their own eyes and hear with their own ears because, once WSLS realizes the transcript and the video don’t match, the transcript will be modified in all likelihood if not removed from the page altogether.

Although it is my understanding that Senator Obama has a lead in the polls in Virginia as a whole, in southwest Virginia the words ‘new world order’ raise red flags because there are still a lot of churches there that actually embrace the teaching of Bible prophecy. Thus, it would seem, from the outside looking in, WSLS TV 10 is doing its subtle part to ensure that Senator Obama’s campaign isn’t hurt by Joe Biden’s most recent slip of the tongue.

Hats off to my brother, Eric, and his wife for giving me a heads-up on this as it’s symbolic of the campaign of distorted information and political swerving we’ve seen both the media and Team Obama engage in throughout the election process this year. Not only that, it is demonstrative of the fact that what the Bible has told us is going to come – a globalized new world order – is becoming a more and more openly accepted ‘reality’ in the eyes of those in key positions of power, both in the United States and abroad. To that end, President Bush recently met with current EU and French president Nicolas Sarkozy and EU Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso at Camp David. The outcome of that meeting brought the prophesied new world order closer to being born. Clearly, as shown here, Senators Biden and Obama are going to continue our nation’s path toward participation in same. (See my previous commentary and video for further on that.)

Most students of Bible prophecy are now of the opinion that a new world order is coming no matter which political party is elected to the White House. That may well be the case but, if we’re to slow its advance even slightly, there is no hope of that in electing Senators Obama and Biden. They’ve openly accepted the realities of a new world order. You heard it here first so vote wisely, Church!

Keep looking up! Jesus Christ is Lord and He is coming soon!

Obama the “Unapologetic Socialist”

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Socialism is the phantastic younger brother of despotism, which it wants to inherit. Socialism wants to have the fullness of state force which before only existed in despotism. … However, it goes further than anything in the past because it aims at the formal destruction of the individual … who … can be used to improve communities by an expedient organ of government.

– Friedrich Nitzsche

Despotism is a form of government by a single authority, either an individual or tightly knit group, which rules with absolute political power. In its classical form, a despotism is a state where a single individual, the Despot, wields all the power and authority embodying the state and everyone else is a subsidiary person. This form of despotism was common in the first forms of statehood and civilization; the Pharaoh of Egypt is exemplary of the classical Despot.

The term now implies tyrannical rule. Despotism can mean absolutism (dominance through threat of punishment and violence) or dictatorship (a form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator, not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition etc.)

Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating state or collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and the creation of an egalitarian society. Modern socialism originated in the late nineteenth-century working class political movement. Karl Marx posited that socialism would be achieved via class struggle and a proletarian revolution which represents the transitional stage between capitalism and communism.

Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital and creates an unequal society. All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly, although there is considerable disagreement among socialists over how, and to what extent this could be achieved.

A pro-family leader warns that the economic policies being promoted by Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama represent those of an “unapologetic socialist.”

Earlier this month, OneNewsNow noted the mainstream news media has chosen not to report on Barack Obama’s past membership in a socialist organization (related article). While running for the Illinois State Senate, Obama was a member of the Chicago “New Party,” which was established by the Democratic Socialists of America.

Tim Wildmon, president of the American Family Association, has written a new column for Christian Worldview Network titled “President Obama Will Be An Unapologetic Socialist.” Wildmon says Obama’s “spread the wealth” philosophy builds class warfare and is a play on jealousy and envy.

“The idea that you take from some people who earn money and then give it to people who have not earned that money, really Robin Hood if you will, is in itself…immoral,” he contends. “Twenty percent of the people pay 86 percent of the income tax in this country, so that’s enough. You should not compel people to pay more just because they earn more, than we have already in this country.”

Obama often promises he will cut taxes for 95 percent of American workers and their families, but his tax policy plan also raises taxes on income, capital gains, and dividends for families earning more than $250,000 a year. According to the plan, the revenue generated by these tax increases will be redistributed to lower and middle-income people through a refundable tax credit.

Amnesty Inevitable, Says Immigration Group

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

The majority of people have told the government time and time again they do not want amnesty for illegal aliens. If Obama is elected president and the congress and senate stay Democrat, you can kiss your wishes goodbye. They will pass amnesty for illegals, plain and simple.

Numbers USA president Roy Beck explains he does not want people to feel a sense of desperation, but at the same time he does not want anyone to feel complacent when it comes to the reality of the upcoming election. Beck contends both John McCain and Barack Obama will not hesitate to push amnesty if either is elected on November 4.

“We are going to have to mobilize, as grassroots people…against the establishment if we’re going to save this country, because believe me, we are talking about saving the country,” he says.\

“If they pass that amnesty, and they pass big increases in immigration, you’ve got 12-to-20 million illegal aliens who immediately are legal, and now they’re free to start bringing in all their relatives. We’re going to see another gigantic run on the border if an amnesty goes through. America, as we know it, won’t exist in ten years. So a lot is at stake.”

Homosexual Propaganda Rampant in Mass. Schools

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Mass Resistance president Brian Camenker says that immediately after Massachusetts courts made homosexual marriage legal in his state, many schools had assemblies celebrating the decision. Those assemblies featured pro-homosexual speakers, teachers who announced that they would “marry” their same-sex partners, and homosexuals who announced they would pursue adoption.

Camenker points out the homosexual agenda was even promoted in middle schools and elementary schools. “David Parker was the parent of a kindergartner in Lexington, where they were telling the kids about same-sex families being normal just like their mother and father,” he explains. “And they had gotten to the point, even by 2005, where they considered this so important to tell kids that they refused to allow parents to opt their own kids out of that propaganda and wouldn’t even tell them when it happened.”

Parker sued the school system, but Camenker says the judges ruled that, because homosexual marriage was legal in that state, parents had no right to opt out and also said that the schools were promoting good citizenship. (See related story) Camenker warns that public schools have become a major target of the homosexual agenda, and that the passage of homosexual marriage in other states will only embolden the movement.

CBS Evening News Spikes Newly Found Obama ‘Redistributive’ Audio

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

We blogged about Obama’s “redistributive” audio the other day. Once again, the mainstream media is a shill for Obama, by spinning anything that could reflect negatively on him as utter nonsense.

YouTube postings over the weekend divulged a 2001 radio interview in which Barack Obama regretted that “the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society,” but though John McCain on Monday cited this new evidence of Obama’s long-standing advocacy of redistributing wealth, the CBS Evening News offered nothing more than a McCain soundbite surrounded by reporter Chip Reid discrediting the criticism as he relayed the Obama campaign’s charge McCain had made a “false, desperate attack” and Reid bemoaned: “If the events of today are any guide, this is a campaign that is taking an increasingly negative tone in the last week.”

Larry King Live Barely Touches Obama ‘Redistributive’ Audio; Fixates on Sarah the ‘Diva’

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

I really don’t need to post anything further on “media bias” to prove my point, but Larry King was so blatant in that area, the other night, that I felt compelled to mention it.

Don’t blink your eyes. If you do, you might miss the one very brief mention of Barack Obama’s stunning 2001 radio interview on Larry King Live last night where he called for legislative means to redistribute the wealth. Are you ready? Okay, here it comes in this brief mention by former Republican congresswoman Susan Molinari:

I think there’s still a lot of fighting spirit in this campaign as we go state to state. The numbers are starting to get closer. Senator McCain is continuing and Governor Palin, to take the argument of the words that Senator Obama had given us as far back as 2001 and as lately as a few weeks ago in terms of his determination to redistribute the wealth throughout the United States.

And that was it. Just a very vague reference to that 2001 radio interview which has been all over the web but barely mentioned in the mainstream media including being spiked by the CBS Evening News. Instead Larry King Live spent the major portion of the show obsessing over Sarah Palin’s clothes and presenting her as a “diva.” Here is a transcript of the video (emphasis mine):

KING: All right.

We’ll be checking back with you in a couple of minutes.

John King, CNN’s chief national correspondent, in San Francisco.

A new member of the panel, Julie Menin.

What do you make of this controversy?

JULIE MENIN, DNC WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP FORUM, SUPPORTS OBAMA: (INAUDIBLE) just saying that they’re calling her a diva. If anything, I would say that she was actually overly submissive by allowing herself to be handled in this way.
If she would have gone out from the start and said, listen, I’m a hockey mom, I’m folksy, this is who I am. But now there are these inconsistencies, that she allowed the RNC to spend $2,500 a day on clothing or that she allowed herself to be sequestered from a lot of press interviews.

I think she’s really taking a hit in terms of her overall reputation and that’s something that she’s thinking about. She’s obviously thinking about 2012 and what she can do to get back to who she is as a person.

Skinheads Planned to Kill Obama

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

It is so sad that we are still dealing with such racial prejudice here in America.

Two white supremacist skinheads were arrested in Tennessee over plans to go on a killing spree and eventually shoot Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, court documents showed on Monday.

Daniel Cowart and Paul Schlesselman were charged in a criminal complaint with making threats against a presidential candidate, illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun and conspiracy to rob a gun dealer.

The plot did not appear to be very advanced or sophisticated, the court documents showed.

“We’re unsure of their ability or if they have the wherewithal to carry out any of their threats,” said a source close to the investigation.

Obama would be the first black president in U.S. history if he defeats Republican John McCain in the November 4 election. Concerns about Obama’s safety led the Secret Service to provide round-the-clock protection from early in his campaign.

“An Open Letter to Evangelicals” by Harry R. Jackson, Jr.

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

The most frequent objection of those who fear the presence of believers in government is, “What right do you have to impose your morals on us?” Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council tells them, “The same right you have to impose your lack of morals on us.” Someone’s values will always be reflected in public policy. Almost every government policy decision is a value judgment. In this postmodern world, where moral relativism is the philosophy of choice, these value judgments are often based on the conditions of the moment rather than objective, transcendent, biblical truth. This is where the two sides diverge.

Bible-believing Christians believe there is absolute truth, a view that was held by all Christians until the turn of the twentieth century. Belief in objective truth is the first step in developing a Christian worldview. A Christian worldview is based on the belief that there is a personal God who is directly involved in the activities of man and who authoritatively communicates to man through His Word and the Holy Spirit.

Shortly after the Civil War, the Protestant church divided over this belief in a literal interpretation of Scripture. Liberals moved away from Scripture as the sole authority in order to accommodate “rational truth,” which they saw as incompatible with the Bible. These liberals embraced the “essence of Christianity” rather than the inerrancy of Scripture so they could synthesize their Christian thought with so-called scientific findings of the day.

One of the preeminent voices to emerge in defense of absolute truth shortly after the turn of the century was a Princeton Theological Seminary professor and Presbyterian minister, J. Grescham Machen, who would later lead a split within the Presbyterian Church over the rejection of biblical orthodoxy. In his definitive work, Christianity and Liberalism, Machen said that liberalism was not only theologically wrong but was not connected at all to true Christianity. “What the liberal theologian has retained after abandoning to the enemy one Christian doctrine after another is not Christianity at all, but a religion which is so entirely different from Christianity as to belong in a different category.” Machen felt that the argument was no longer between two views of evangelicalism, conservative and liberal, but rather a conflict between two religions. Liberalism is “a type of faith and practice that is anti-Christian to the core,” Machen wrote.

What has transpired in many mainline denominations over the last one hundred years gives clear evidence of the results of abandoning absolute truth. Mainline denominations have shrunk in size and no longer debate the inerrancy of Scripture but issues such as the ordination of homosexuals. As we look at their decline, we wonder what will be next for a church or a society that has rejected absolute truth.

The present divide among evangelicals that the media frequently points to as “evidence” of the declining influence of the conservative Christian movement is not new. In 1984, Christian theologian Francis Schaeffer spoke to the cause of this divide—a rejection of absolute truth. Schaeffer chastised those who had compromised their view of Scripture and had accommodated the culture in the name of “love.”

Unfortunately, a growing number of Christians are influenced more by the popular culture than Scripture in terms of their worldview. Even younger evangelicals, who tend to track conservatively on most core social issues, do not consistently view the world from a biblical perspective.

Are Christians Sitting This Election Out?

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

As I read through the news every day, I have to ask myself if people realize just how much is at stake in next weeks election. Do they truly understand that we are locked into four years of whatever policies either one of this men choose to foist on us? One promises to cut cost by removing government programs. The other promises to raise taxes on the middle class. One is moderately pro-abortion. The other is vehemently pro-abortion. One has many years in Washington, the other has less than a year. Both have some questionable friends. One has ties to big business interest, the other to foreign and domestic terrorist and hate mongers. Both claim to be Christians. One lives more like than the other.
I was having a conversation with a coworker the other day. We were discussing the decline in American values, the fact that our nation has turned it’s back on God. We both feel that God has withdrawn his hand of protection from our country.
Maybe the results of this election are the punishment this country deserves.
Christians, it’s time to put your faith back in God and vote your morals. Do what God wants you to do.

MSNBC Under Fire From Hollywood?

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

You know things are bad when even the liberal left is speaking out against MSNBC.

In a room full of television industry executives, no one seemed inclined to defend MSNBC on Monday for what some were calling its lopsidedly liberal coverage of the presidential election.

The cable news channel is “completely out of control,” said writer-producer Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, a self-proclaimed liberal Democrat.

She added that she would prefer a lunch date with right-leaning Fox News star Sean Hannity over left-leaning MSNBC star Keith Olbermann.

Olbermann was criticized by many who attended Monday’s luncheon sponsored by the Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The event was dubbed “Hollywood, America and Election ’08.”

Bloodworth-Thomason and others seemed especially critical of the way MSNBC — and other media — has attacked Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin while demeaning her supporters.

“We should stop the demonizing,” she said, adding that Democrats have been worse than Republicans as far as personal attacks on candidates are concerned. “It diminishes us,” she said of her fellow Democrats.

Bloodworth-Thomason even suggested a defense of Palin and her supporters should be written into TV programing, just as she went out of her way to portray Southern women as smart in her hit TV show “Designing Women.”
