America’s Most Wanted Airs Said Sisters “Honor Killing”, Caves to Political Correctness

Monday, November 24th, 2008

I was delighted when I found out that America’s Most Wanted was finally going to air a segment concerning the “Honor Killings” of Sarah and Amina Said.  That was until I saw the segment.
We have been publishing comments, for some time now, from Gail Gartrell, the girl’s Great-Aunt. After the show last night, Dr. Phyllis Chesler asked her what she thought about the segment.
With her permission, I am publishing her response to Dr. Chesler here.

  • Phyllis,

I am livid! My heart is broken for poor Amina! They portrayed her as a killer and even used a knife as an assumed weapon of choice. How dare they! Then, to show these girls plotting against a man who they feared more than a rattlesnake! How preposterous! In this airing, the producer and John Walsh made the victims seem deserving of what Yasser did to them. Now, I see them as victims of a show intended to bring justice!

You know, the facts were all wrong. Why? I know that I have spoken to this producer for months now! So has Joyce Boucher as well! Let me do a reality check! Here are the facts they misrepresented: My niece is not Arabic nor, is she Hispanic looking! She is pale skinned and blue eyed! They represented this as an Arabic family with a dictator father and husband. Another fact totally avoided…ISLAM, the brother and son of the parents from hell. The very one who promises to kill me. Where was Yasser’s and Tissy’s beloved son who spied on these girls and bullied his mother? To me, this was an intentional omission! To have added a character as radical as Islam, this might have given [CAIR] (Council on American-Islamic Relations. -ed.), the wrong impression! God forbid! Another, Amina DID NOT come home on her own! No way as she told Connie that she would rather be dead than ever go back home. She meant that too! Amina was [coerced] by my own niece to go back. This, after hours of calling Amina and telling her to come home. Tissy went as far as to put Yasser on the phone but, Amina knew death was awaiting her if she returned. When Amina did return, she and Sarah were taken into Yasser’s cab and she did not go into that kitchen and rummage through the frig. Give me a break! One of the biggest misrepresentation of the facts, Amina was in the front seat and Sarah was in the back seat. Amina, was sitting facing Yasser as a friend saw them and said so. If you simply listen to the 9-1-1 phone call from the cabbie who found them, he says there are two women, one in the front seat and one in the backseat! He describes what he sees in this call as he was asked too. He saw a woman in the front seat, “I have not seen her hand move, there is blood coming from her ear and she is slumped over.” THESE ARE EYEWITNESS FACTS! Yasser, also knew exactly where to park that cab! It could not be seen by the cameras which are on the Omni Mandalay. No mention of this premeditated fact! I could go on and on about how they misrepresented the facts and truth about this tragic HONOR KILLING of my sisters granddaughters.

Where was the part of Sarah’s call where she says, “no, not again, (door opens) I’m dying, my blood baba…no, stop it!” These were Sarah’s own words to her father. She is telling him, LOOK, see my blood! I’m dying, you do not need to do more to me! But, to no avail, he finishes her off as she is on the cell phone with the police who placed her on hold! How dare they! I guess they did not want everyone to hear the officer ask Sarah for the address and to hold on as he called the fire department for paramedics. Oh yeah, let’s not offend the police and certainly not the radical Muslims!! Talk about political correctness…what a joke.

I used to have a lot of respect for John Walsh as I know that man had to walk through hell when his own child was abducted. Now, I resent him saying this case was special to him! Yeah, right John! I saw his true colors tonight and he is definitely in this for the money…oh, of course, “in my opinion!!!!!” He did not even understand the term, honor killing, “Some people say this was an honor killing. But, there’s no honor in this.” Again, how dare he! I have worked my butt off to educate and get the word out about honor killings and he diminished what honor killings entail. You know, like usually, they are well planned out in advance and others in the family often involve themselves as well. How about this one? Yasser shoots the girls, gets out of the cab with not a single drop of blood on him (after 11 shots were fired at close range) and simple walks away. WHO PICKED HIM UP? He did not leave there on foot! Someone picked his sorry butt up and fled with him. FACT!

Never, will I watch this comedy of errors again. If only they researched, then perhaps I would believe this show has some credibility. I suppose no one read the autopsy. Amina had more [rigor mortis] than Sarah. Does this not imply that perhaps, Amina was shot before Sarah? After all, she was sitting in the front, not the back! My niece told me herself that Sarah called not ten to fifteen minutes after Yasser left with these girls and she did not answer the phone. “I don’t know why I did not answer the phone for Sarah.” I think she did and does know why she did not answer that phone to Sarah. Yet, AMW made Tissy look like a beaten down puppy. If that were so, then why did Yasser not kill her for running with his girls? After all, Sarah and Tissy did return before Amina was brought back. Yasser had plenty of time to kill them both but, he waited! He was waiting on Amina and Amina knew it too! My opinion, so did my niece!

By the way, those girls were not shot and left in the parking lot of the Omni Mandalay! I believe Yasser shot them at another location. In fact, there are two shooting ranges just a few blocks from the hotel. Had he shot them there, no one would have been shocked to hear gun shots ring out. The cell tower where Sarah’s call came in…right near the shooting ranges! The cowardly beast shot them and I think he thought they were dead until Sarah made that call. This forced him to drive quickly to the Omni as Sarah gave away the location from using that phone. If it had played out the way they portrayed this, it would have meant that Yasser killed the girls in the daylight, at an exclusive hotel on New Years Day, and no one heard 11 bullets ring out nor, saw anything. You know, like a bloody mess walking down the sidewalk, in daylight?

Phyllis, you and I both know AMW made this Muslim friendly for their viewers. But, we also know that the truth was NOT enacted. Simply, a fact! Someone please [write] to AMW and define honor killings for these pseudo intellectuals! Oh! My opinion, of course! Let’s keep this politically correct! I DETEST THIS TERM! It hides many sins of mankind! Truths, too!

Will U.S. Push Israel to Concede Biblical Heartland?

    Monday, November 24th, 2008

JAFFA, Israel – The Palestinian Authority has asked the U.S. to impose sanctions on Israel if the Jewish state continues building any new housing structures in the strategic and historic West Bank, a top PA source told WND.

The source, who works from PA President Mahmoud Abbas’ office, said the threat of sanctions would be part a series of Israeli-Palestinian understandings to be guaranteed by the U.S. that both sides are trying to reach before January.

The understandings, the source said, would result in an eventual Israeli withdrawal from the vast majority of the West Bank, an area rich in biblical history and significance.

Last week, informed Israeli and Palestinian sources told WND that despite media reports painting a dismal picture of negotiation prospects, Israel and the PA are still quietly working to conclude a major agreement before President Bush leaves office at the end of the year.

Aside from a major West Bank withdrawal, the agreement would also grant the PA permission to open official institutions in Jerusalem but would postpone talks on the future status of the capital city until new Israeli and U.S. governments are installed next year.

A top source said the PA requested that as part of the understandings, the U.S. would threaten sanctions for any new Jewish construction in the West Bank.

    America’s Ignorance of Obama ‘Disturbing’

    Monday, November 24th, 2008

The trend, by the majority of Americans, to accept Obama at face value without any attempt to actually learn what he is all about, is incomprehensible to me. Without introducing some kind of Satanic influence into the equation, I am completely at a loss to explain people’s willingness to follow this man without any hesitation.

Two months before the presidential election, Investors Business Daily (IBD) published an editorial entitled “Michelle’s Boot Camps for Radicals.” It revealed that Barack Obama was a founding member of the board of a publicly funded non-profit organization known as Public Allies, but he resigned when his wife Michelle became executive director of the Chicago chapter of Public Allies in 1993.

The IBD editorial said the organization’s mission is to radicalize American youth and use them to bring about “social change” through threats, pressure, tension, and confrontation. On its website, Public Allies said the IBD piece painted an inaccurate, distorted view of their work. But the editorial points out that during the presidential campaign, Obama said, “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the military.

Gary Bauer, chairman of American Values, does not believe American voters did enough research on Obama before the election. “One of the things he has talked about is this universal voluntary public service corps. But there are some disturbing signs that this might be another one of these left-wing ideas that have motives behind it that are not entirely reassuring,” he contends.

“How The End Looks” by Michael G. Mickey

    Monday, November 24th, 2008

I continue to catch a lot of heat from those skeptical of the position of this small ministry for Christ, which is that Jesus Christ is coming soon, but, whenever I’m feeling beaten down or wearied, all I have to do is look at the news of our world today and compare it with Bible prophecy. That does the trick for me each and every time.

Rarely does a 24-hour period go by that I can’t find something in the news that I can point to and say to anyone, “THIS is how the end looks, according to Bible prophecy!”

Let’s review a few examples of recent findings I’ve come across that point to this being the case.

The United States on its way out as a superpower

Anyone who has examined Bible prophecy extensively or tried to answer the question of where the USA is located in prophecy has ultimately come to a very limited number of conclusions. Me? I’ve come to the conclusion that the USA isn’t going to remain the all-powerful nation it is today OR the USA, whether willfully or by necessity, is going to become part of the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy we today refer to as the European Union, the embryo of the new world order to come. Looking at the news of late, I can see potential for either to occur.

Fox News is reporting the following, in part:

The next two decades will see a world living with the daily threat of nuclear war, environmental catastrophe and the decline of America as the dominant global power, according to a frighteningly bleak assessment by the U.S. intelligence community.

“The world of the near future will be subject to an increased likelihood of conflict over resources, including food and water, and will be haunted by the persistence of rogue states and terrorist groups with greater access to nuclear weapons,” said the report by the National Intelligence Council.

The analysts said that the report had been prepared in time for Barack Obama’s entry into the Oval office on January 20, where he will be faced with some of the greatest challenges of any newly-elected president.

“The likelihood that nuclear weapons will be used will increase with expanded access to technology and a widening range of options for limited strikes,” the 121-page assessment said.

Living under a daily threat of nuclear war? Environmental catastrophes occurring regularly? A world in persistent threat of armed conflict because of supply being unable to match demand for the earth’s ever-dwindling resources? All of this is inevitable. Because of an ever-growing human populace, the spread of weapons of mass destruction and evil world leaders coming to power periodically as they have throughout human history, these things are bound to happen! Not only that, it’s how the end looks according to God’s prophetic Word, isn’t it?

Not only can students of Bible prophecy see we’re reaching a critical point in human history, voices from the secular world are expressing concerns, predicting calamities galore even!

Christians, we have a lot of work to do – and not a lot of time left to do it, in all likelihood, this side of the Rapture of the Church, but let’s continue on the topic at hand for now.

I remember that it wasn’t too long ago that I was receiving quite a bit of criticism for suggesting that the United States might be overcome by the rising new world order being born in Europe. I’m not being laughed at so much anymore, particularly with NewsMax.com, for example, chillingly reporting the following, in part (emphasis added mine):

The results of the G-20 economic summit amount to nothing less than the seamless integration of the United States into the European economy.

In one month of legislation and one diplomatic meeting, the United States has unilaterally abdicated all the gains for the concept of free markets won by the Reagan administration and surrendered, in total, to the Western European model of socialism, stagnation, and excessive government regulation.

Sovereignty is out the window. Without a vote, we are suddenly members of the European Union.

My theories? They’re not quite so outlandish anymore. They never were to me because I’ve read my Bible and folks? This is how the end looks!

“Is Obama Embarking On Bill Clinton’s Third Term?” by Austin Hill

    Monday, November 24th, 2008

“John McCain has decided to run for George Bush’s third term, and we can’t afford it.”

If Barack Obama stated that once during his campaign, he stated it hundreds of times.

And the fact that Senator McCain had alienated his own party by being a thorn in Bush’s side for much of the past eight years didn’t matter. It was a clever way for Obama to label McCain during the campaign, and by all indications, it worked.

So now, what are we to make of the return of the Clinton gang to Washington? As one liberal blogger noted, “Barack Obama acted all hopey and changey to get elected,” but now that he’s actually going to be President, he needs to staff-up with people “who actually know what they’re doing.”

That’s one way to look at it. But what are the implications of having the “Clintonistas,” and maybe even the Clintons themselves, in and around the Obama White House? It would be horribly naïve to assume that these “Washington insiders” will only bring their utilitarian value and “professional expertise” to the table, and will leave behind the policies, instincts, and sensibilities of 1990’s Washington.

So let’s not be so naïve. The passionate Obama partisans aren’t. The polling data on these voters released last week by John Zogby may have confirmed what many of us had suspected for months – – that millions of Americans who supported the Obama candidacy knew essentially nothing about him – – but that doesn’t dismiss the fact that Obama sold people on the idea of “change.” And based on the left-wing reaction to the Clinton re-emergence, “change” was taken to mean not merely a reversal of the past eight years, but an un-doing of the past couple of decades.

This has left-wingers outraged. Obama spent much of the past two years vowing to end the “senseless war in Iraq.” As he stood on stage with Hillary Clinton and John Edwards for those seemingly never-ending Democratic debates, he took every opportunity imaginable to remind us that he was the only candidate who had always opposed the war in Iraq. Yet, now he may be about to appoint a “war supporter” to head up the Department of State. That’s not “change,” and it’s not hopeful – – at least not to those who have been caught-up in the Obama trance.

“When Science Points To God” by Dinesh D’Souza

    Monday, November 24th, 2008

Contemporary atheism marches behind the banner of science. It is perhaps no surprise that several leading atheists—from biologist Richard Dawkins to cognitive psychologist Steven Pinker to physicist Victor Stenger—are also leading scientists. The central argument of these scientific atheists is that modern science has refuted traditional religious conceptions of a divine creator.

But of late atheism seems to be losing its scientific confidence. One sign of this is the public advertisements that are appearing in billboards from London to Washington DC. Dawkins helped pay for a London campaign to put signs on city buses saying, “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.” Humanist groups in America have launched a similar campaign in the nation’s capital. “Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness sake.” And in Colorado atheists are sporting billboards apparently inspired by John Lennon: “Imagine…no religion.”

What is striking about these slogans is the philosophy behind them. There is no claim here that God fails to satisfy some criterion of scientific validation. We hear nothing about how evolution has undermined the traditional “argument from design.” There’s not even a whisper about how science is based on reason while Christianity is based on faith.

Instead, we are given the simple assertion that there is probably no God, followed by the counsel to go ahead and enjoy life. In other words, let’s not let God and his commandments spoil all the fun. “Be good for goodness sake” is true as far as it goes, but it doesn’t go very far. The question remains: what is the source of these standards of goodness that seem to be shared by religious and non-religious people alike? Finally John Lennon knew how to compose a tune but he could hardly be considered a reliable authority on fundamental questions. His “imagine there’s no heaven” sounds visionary but is, from an intellectual point of view, a complete nullity.

If you want to know why atheists seem to have given up the scientific card, the current issue of Discover magazine provides part of the answer. The magazine has an interesting story by Tim Folger which is titled “Science’s Alternative to an Intelligent Creator.” The article begins by noting “an extraordinary fact about the universe: its basic properties are uncannily suited for life.” As physicist Andrei Linde puts it, “We have a lot of really, really strange coincidences, and all of these coincidences are such that they make life possible.”

Too many “coincidences,” however, imply a plot. Folger’s article shows that if the numerical values of the universe, from the speed of light to the strength of gravity, were even slightly different, there would be no universe and no life. Recently scientists have discovered that most of the matter and energy in the universe is made up of so-called “dark” matter and “dark” energy. It turns out that the quantity of dark energy seems precisely calibrated to make possible not only our universe but observers like us who can comprehend that universe.
