“No More Mister Nice Gay” by Todd Strandberg

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Last month, California voters went to the polls and passed an initiative on gay marriage. Proposition 8 would have changed the state constitution to restrict the definition of marriage to a union between a man and a woman and bar same-sex couples from marrying each other. Despite being one of the most liberal states in the union, the measure passed by a comfortable margin.

The amendment is not a done deal. The California Supreme Court still has to weigh in on the matter. Gay groups are asking the justices to strike down the measure, while supporters of Proposition 8 are calling for the amendment simply to be enforced.

Homosexual activists have not had much luck at the polls. Whenever there has been a ballot measure that would ban gay marriage, it has always passed. During the last presidential election, 11 states passed bans on same-sex marriage.

Gays keep losing at the polls primarily because most people view their lifestyles as grossly immoral. They also have the problem of only being a very small portion of the population. A recent government survey found that 4 percent of adults aged 18-45 identified themselves as homosexual or bisexual.

The main power of the gay movement is in the liberal media. The folks in Hollywood and the news outlets have been working for decades to give respectability to a whole series of perversions. Lately, I’ve noticed a constant bombardment of pro-gay propaganda from the liberal media.

Two weeks ago, Focus Features, the same film company that produced “Brokeback Mountain,” released “Milk.” This film is about Harvey Milk, who in 1977 was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, becoming the first openly gay man to be voted into public office in America. You would have to wait until hell freezes over before you would see Hollywood produce a positive movie about a conservative leader.

Newsweek recently printed a huge article that came out for same-sex marriage in a big way. I was passing through a Dallas airport when I saw the cover story titled, “The Religious Case for Gay Marriage.” It was written by Lisa Miller, the woman who interviewed me last month about Obama’s possible connection to the Antichrist. Most of the words in the nine-page article were spent on dismissing the Bible’s relevance. The article ultimately concluded that gay is okay because “Jesus doesn’t want people to be lonely and sad.”

I’ve noticed a dramatic shift in the homosexual movement’s strategy as a result of the Proposition 8 vote. Its members are now being more confrontational. Having lost at the polls, gay leaders are trying to intimidate the opposition.

Margie Christoffersen is one victim of this new tactic. She was the manager at El Coyote, the Beverly Boulevard landmark restaurant that’s always had throngs of customers waiting to get inside. Christoffersen donated $100 in support of Proposition 8, and by doing so, she showed up on lists of “for” and “against” donors. A boycott was organized on the Internet, with activists trashing El Coyote on restaurant review sites. Gays also picketed outside the restaurant, shouting “shame on you” at customers. As result of the protests, business at El Coyote has dramatically dropped off and Christoffersen has taken a voluntary leave of absence.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has also been a target. Members of the Mormon church were strongly urged by church leaders to contribute money to the Proposition 8 campaign. It is estimated that members of the church gave more than $20 million. When the money flow was traced back to Utah, thousands of gay protesters gathered outside the church’s headquarters in Salt Lake City. On November 12, 2008, more than 10,000 protesters gathered outside the Manhattan New York Temple to protest the LDS Church’s support of Proposition 8.

Pastor Rick Warren is another target in the Proposition 8 backlash. The head of Saddleback Church and author of the book The Purpose-Driven Life has been invited to give the invocation at Obama’s inauguration. Gay groups are pressuring the President-elect to find someone else. “We feel a deep level of disrespect when one of architects and promoters of an anti-gay agenda is given the prominence and the pulpit of your historic nomination,” said the president of Human Rights Campaign, Joe Solomonese.

This new campaign of intimidation may prove to be very successful. It comes at a time when most Christians are unwilling to take a stand for biblical truth. It is a terrible shame that the Mormon Church would be the lead financial backer of an effort to block gay marriage. Mormonism is a cult, and it has always been shy about public scrutiny. I doubt the Mormon Church would be willing to repeat its support of any future ballots.

Rick Warren’s involvement is a prime example of how moral standards are being rapidly degraded. Here we have Obama being attacked for making a great mistake by choosing Warren. If anyone is a fault, it should be Rick Warren. He is the one who is planning to offer his blessing to the most ultra-liberal president in our nation’s history.

A Christian can’t be neutral in any dealing with the world. The price for being accepted is always some type of concession.

The liberal media loves to root out compromise. Warren was asked by NBC News if he was homophobic. He replied by saying he was not. His answer should have been, “The Bible is homophobic, so I guess that makes me homophobic.”

I see us quickly headed to a point where it will be suicidal to make a stand against any gay measure. Homosexuality is no longer seen as a sin when you have the vast majority of church leaders unwilling to proclaim biblical truth. Now that gays have become militant in their quest for acceptance, they’ll probably be surprised to find how easy it is to silence their Christian foes.

I have no problem speaking out against perversion because I know that judgment day is coming. Any pastor who decides not to deal with the sin of homosexuality will have to answer to the Lord of heaven.

“Today’s Baal Worshipers” By Matt Barber

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9 NIV)

Modern-day liberals – or “progressives” as they more discreetly prefer – labor under an awkward misconception; namely, that there is anything remotely “progressive” about the fundamental canons of their blind, secular-humanist faith. In fact, today’s liberalism is largely a sanitized retread of an antiquated mythology – one that significantly predates the only truly progressive movement: biblical Christianity.

While visiting the Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg, Va., a few weeks back, I heard a troubling, albeit thought-provoking, sermon. Pastor John Mabray addressed the ancient Canaanite practice of Baal worship and, though he didn’t reveal it by name, connected the dots to its present-day progeny: liberalism. Baal, the half-bull, half-man god of fertility, was the focal point of pagan idolatry in Semitic Israel until God revealed His monotheistic nature to Judaism’s forebears.

In his sermon, Pastor Mabray illustrated that, although they’ve now assumed a more contemporary flair, the fundamentals of Baal worship remain alive and well today. The principal pillars of Baalism were child sacrifice, sexual immorality (both heterosexual and homosexual) and pantheism (reverence of creation over the Creator).

Ritualistic Baal worship, in sum, looked a little like this: Adults would gather around the altar of Baal. Infants would then be burned alive as a sacrificial offering to the deity. Amid horrific screams and the stench of charred human flesh, congregants – men and women alike – would engage in bisexual orgies. The ritual of convenience was intended to produce economic prosperity by prompting Baal to bring rain for the fertility of “mother earth.”

The natural consequences of such behavior – pregnancy and childbirth – and the associated financial burdens of “unplanned parenthood” were easily offset. One could either choose to engage in homosexual conduct or – with child sacrifice available on demand – could simply take part in another fertility ceremony to “terminate” the unwanted child.

Modern liberalism deviates little from its ancient predecessor. While its macabre rituals have been sanitized with flowery and euphemistic terms of art, its core tenets and practices remain eerily similar. The worship of “fertility” has been replaced with worship of “reproductive freedom” or “choice.” Child sacrifice via burnt offering has been updated, ever so slightly, to become child sacrifice by way of abortion. The ritualistic promotion, practice and celebration of both heterosexual and homosexual immorality and promiscuity have been carefully whitewashed – yet wholeheartedly embraced – by the cults of radical feminism, militant “gay rights” and “comprehensive sex education.” And, the pantheistic worship of “mother earth” has been substituted – in name only – for radical environmentalism.

But it’s not just self-styled “progressives” or secular humanists who have adopted the fundamental pillars of Baalism. In these postmodern times, we’ve also been graced, regrettably, by the advent of counter-biblical “emergent Christianity” or “quasi-Christianity,” as I prefer to call it.

This is merely liberalism all dolled up and gratuitously stamped “Christian.” It’s a way for left-wing ideologues to have their “religion” cake and eat it too. Under the guise of “social justice,” its adherents often support – or at least rationalize – the same pro-homosexual, pro-abortion and radical environmental policies pushed by the modern-day Baal worshiper.

Though the “Christian left” represent what is arguably a negligible minority within larger Christianity, the liberal media have, nonetheless, embraced their cause and seized upon their popularity among elites as evidence that the so-called “Christian right” (read: biblical Christianity) is losing influence – that Christianity is, somehow, “catching up with the times.”

Because emergent Christianity fails the authenticity test whenever subjected to even the most perfunctory biblical scrutiny, I suspect it will eventually go – for the most part – the way of the pet rock or the Macarena. But this does not absolve leaders within the evangelical community from a duty to call leaders of this counter-biblical revolution on their heresy. It’s not a matter of right versus left; it’s a matter of right versus wrong – of biblical versus non-biblical.

Nonetheless, the aforementioned pillars of postmodern Baalism – abortion, sexual relativism and radical environmentalism – will almost certainly make rapid headway over the next four to eight years, with or without help from the Christian left. The gods of liberalism have a new high priest in Barack Obama, and enjoy many devout followers in the Democratic-controlled Congress, liberal media and halls of academia.

Both Obama’s social agenda and that of the 111th Congress are rife with unfettered pro-abortion, freedom-chilling, pro-homosexual and power-grabbing environmentalist objectives. The same kind of “hope, action and change,” I suppose, that was swallowed up by the Baalist Canaanites of old.

So, today’s liberalism is really just a very old book with a shiny new cover. A philosophy rooted in ancient pagan traditions, of which there is naught to be proud.

There’s “nothing new under the sun,” indeed.

Continue to Pray for Our Friend James

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

We have mentioned our friend James several times over the last month or so (see here and here).
We need to continue to pray for him. The treatments seems to be working well, but as with all cancer treatments, the cure is almost worse than the disease.

With Economy in Shambles, Congress Votes Itself a Raise

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I guess congress doesn’t understand the fact that all the rest of us don’t get to vote ourselves pay raises. We actually have to earn them from successfully operated companies.

A crumbling economy, more than 2 million constituents who have lost their jobs this year, and congressional demands of CEOs to work for free did not convince lawmakers to freeze their own pay.

Instead, they will get a $4,700 pay increase, amounting to an additional $2.5 million that taxpayers will spend on congressional salaries, and watchdog groups are not happy about it.

“As lawmakers make a big show of forcing auto executives to accept just $1 a year in salary, they are quietly raiding the vault for their own personal gain,” said Daniel O’Connell, chairman of The Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a non-partisan group. “This money would be much better spent helping the millions of seniors who are living below the poverty line and struggling to keep their heat on this winter.”

However, at 2.8 percent, the automatic raise that lawmakers receive is only half as large as the 2009 cost of living adjustment of Social Security recipients.

Still, Steve Ellis, vice president of the budget watchdog Taxpayers for Common Sense, said Congress should have taken the rare step of freezing its pay, as lawmakers did in 2000.

“Look at the way the economy is and how most people aren’t counting on a holiday bonus or a pay raise — they’re just happy to have gainful employment,” said Ellis. “But you have the lawmakers who are set up and ready to get their next installment of a pay raise and go happily along their way.”

Member raises are often characterized as examples of wasteful spending, especially when many constituents and businesses in members’ districts are in financial despair.

Rep. Harry Mitchell, a first-term Democrat from Arizona, sponsored legislation earlier this year that would have prevented the automatic pay adjustments from kicking in for members next year. But the bill, which attracted 34 cosponsors, failed to make it out of committee.

“They don’t even go through the front door. They have it set up so that it’s wired so that you actually have to undo the pay raise rather than vote for a pay raise,” Ellis said.

Jesus ‘Not Banned’ From Public Schools

Friday, December 19th, 2008

[Hattiesburg, Mississippi, sixth-grader Andrew White] wrote a poem titled “A Great Christmas” that reads: “The best Christmas ever is when everyone is there. It is when everyone is laughing here and there. That is the Christmas I want to share. Christmas is about Jesus’ birth. About peace on Earth. This is what Christmas is about. It is when He lay in a manger. And the three wise men come to see. That’s what it means to me.”

After Andrew referenced Jesus in his poem, his teacher Latasha Atkins docked his grade and told him that mentioning Jesus was not allowed. She then instructed him to write a new poem.

Matt Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, disagrees with Atkins’ point-of-view. “The good news is that the principal, Carrie Hornsby, eventually sided with Andrew and his parents, changing his grade to a 100 and conceding that there was nothing improper in using the name of Jesus,” he notes.

The most horrifying part of the story, according to Staver, is that this sixth-grader was told that Jesus is not allowed in public school. “I think some educators need education that the story of Christmas, and the birth of Jesus, is not banned from our public schools,” he points out.

Palin Church Burning – ‘Hate Crime’ Virtually Ignored?

Friday, December 19th, 2008

Investigators say the fire that destroyed Wasilla Bible Church in Alaska on December 12 was likely the work of an arsonist, but the mainstream news media, with the exception of The Associated Press, has largely ignored the story.

Terry Mattingly is the editor of the website GetReligion.org, a Scripps Howard columnist, and director of the Washington Journalism Center. He says because the fire occurred in a remote area, major networks may not want to fly reporters in from Los Angeles, Washington, or New York. Mattingly believes a regional bias could be at play, but adds that he has no doubt that if a fire occurred at the church of a socially accepted victim group, the coverage would have been more extensive.

“To give you an example: right now in a parallel case down in California, we have demonstrations and some vandalism and stuff at Mormon churches….We’re beginning to see some coverage of that,” he points out. “Yet I think that if you had some sort of corresponding mirror image situation, say, conservative crowds that were doing vandalism and picketing, say, a congregation in the gay-friendly Metropolitan Community Church, you’d be seeing that on page one of the Los Angeles Times.”

Hamas Declares End to Ceasefire with Israel in Gaza, Fires More Rockets

Friday, December 19th, 2008

With a new U.S. president, whom is perceived as sympathetic to the Palis, the terrorist can see light at the end of the tunnel. They know that all they need to do is step up the violent attacks against innocent Jewish women and children and new U.S. president will pressure Israel in giving in to them.

GAZA (Reuters) – Hamas on Thursday declared an end to a six-month-old Egyptian-brokered ceasefire with Israel in the Gaza Strip, raising the prospect of an escalation in cross-border fighting.

“The calm is over,” Hamas official Ayman Taha said in an announcement after concluding talks with Palestinian factions in the coastal enclave controlled by the Islamist group.

He said the ceasefire, which Hamas says was scheduled to expire on December 19, would not be renewed “because the enemy did not abide by its obligations” to ease a crippling blockade of the Gaza Strip and halt all attacks.

Hamas stopped short of threatening an immediate escalation against Israel, which had hoped to extend the truce and appears wary of a confrontation that could cause heavy casualties on both sides.

Twenty-three Kassam rockets pounded the western Negev on Wednesday as the IDF went on high alert ahead of the official end of the cease-fire on Friday.

One of the rockets struck next to a shopping center in Sderot, wounding three people and causing extensive damage to storefronts and parked cars. The wounded were evacuated to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon.

Following the attack, the IDF bombed two rocket launchers in the northern Gaza Strip, next to Beit Hanun. The military said the launchers were ready for use. Moments later, two more Kassams hit the Sdot Negev region and another struck the Sha’ar Hanegev region.

Defense officials said the escalation in rocket fire came after Hamas instructed Islamic Jihad to increase its attacks ahead of the end of the cease-fire. The officials predicted that Hamas would eventually agree to an extension of the truce but was “posturing itself” in an attempt to gain a commitment from Israel and Egypt to reopen the crossings into Gaza.

In response to the ongoing violations of the cease-fire, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert warned of impending Israeli military action.

“The rocket fire is just clarifying what we’ve been saying all along, that we can’t have a situation where supposedly there is an agreed-upon cease-fire, while the reality on the ground is completely different,” Olmert said after voting in the Kadima primary. “Of course this demands that we address the situation, and we will.”

Abortion – Your Tax Dollars at Work During Economic Slump

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Last week, the Obama-Biden Transition Project posted a report on its website that calls for dramatic policy reversals on abortion, including $1 billion in taxpayer money for international abortion groups like Planned Parenthood. The report, titled “Advancing Reproductive Rights and Health in a New Administration,” also calls for a 133-percent increase in funding for the Title X program, which funds Planned Parenthood clinics across the country.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, is hoping a Republican-led effort in the Senate will block Obama’s plan to substantially increase taxpayer funding of the abortion industry.

“This billion-dollar bailout of the abortion industry comes at a time, number one, when the economy is suffering dramatically with true need. And number two, it communicates an incredible depth of arrogance, especially when you consider that the vast majority of Americans — men and women, no matter who you talk to — they don’t believe that people who don’t believe in abortion should be funding it,” she contends. “Most Americans don’t believe that we should be funding abortions, especially in a time of economic crisis.”

“Suppose the Shoe Thrower Targeted Saddam” by Larry Elder

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

The name: Muntadhar al-Zeidi — a new hero to many in the Muslim world.

President Bush — in a surprise, end-of-term visit to Iraq — held a press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. Al-Zeidi, an Iraqi “reporter,” shouted, “This is your farewell kiss, you dog,” and threw a shoe at Bush. The reporter quickly threw a second. The shoes missed their target only because an agile President Bush managed to duck. And with his typical self-deprecating humor, he later joked, “It was a size 10.”

“(Al-Zeidi’s) a rather nervous type,” al-Zeidi’s brother later said, “and above all hates violence and the bombing.” Al-Zeidi’s employer, Iraqi-owned but Egypt-based Al-Baghdadia television, refused to apologize for its reporter’s behavior, calling him a “proud Arab and an open-minded man.”

The Los Angeles Times wrote: “In the few seconds it took Iraqi journalist (Muntadhar al-Zeidi) to wing a pair of shoes at President Bush, the Middle East got its own version of Joe the Plumber. Just as Joe Wurzelbacher’s gripes to Barack Obama catapulted him to fame, (al-Zeidi’s) burst of rage toward Bush has made him a household name across the Middle East.”

“Joe the Plumber”?

Would that be the working-class citizen who politely questioned then-candidate Barack Obama about his spread-the-wealth philosophy? Or was the reference to the lost video of Joe the Plumber hurling a couple of pipe wrenches at Obama’s head while calling the now-President-elect a “dog”?

Let us pose a few questions.

Suppose one or both shoes hit their mark. What if President Bush had been struck in the eye and been seriously injured? After all, in the chaos, press secretary Dana Perino was injured when a microphone struck her in the eye. Would some in the media have considered it as comical had the reporter targeted Barack Obama? It is, after all, quite reasonable that the incoming President will be the subject of a greater than usual number of threats.

Suppose the Iraqi reporter had thrown his shoes at Saddam Hussein.

During the dictator’s 24-year reign, Saddam killed an estimated 300,000 Iraqi citizens. Some place the number at more than a million. This means that, on the low end, over the past six years, a still-in-power Saddam would have killed 75,000 people. Since the March 2003 coalition invasion of Iraq, the Iraq Body Count — which many consider reliable — puts the number of violent Iraqi civilian deaths at between 89,000 and 98,000, a number that includes “insurgents” and civilians killed by them. But Iraq now has a fledgling multi-sectarian democratic government, a better economy — and a free press.

“All over central Iraq,” wrote the BBC mere months after Saddam Hussein’s fall, “independent radio and television stations are suddenly emerging to fill the void left by the destruction and collapse of the old national broadcaster. Iraqis are enthusiastically embracing the possibilities of a free media after years of heavy censorship. Alongside these do-it-yourself radio and TV stations, dozens of newspapers representing every kind of political viewpoint are suddenly available.”

What of the fate of the shoe thrower in today’s Iraq? Eyewitness and NBC news producer Ghazi Balkiz put it this way: “(Under Saddam) any insult to the president or the president’s guests used to be punished by death.” So while al-Zeidi remains in custody, he faces no feet-first visit to the wood chipper.

Who knows? Maybe he’ll even get his shoes back.

Las Vegas Hit by Rare Snowstorm

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

There is a funny side to this…the global warming alarmist will try to tell us that what has been a very harsh winter so far this season, is caused by global warming.
OK…

LAS VEGAS — A rare snowfall blanketed Las Vegas on Wednesday, canceling flights, snarling traffic and dusting palm trees and marquees along the Las Vegas Strip with accumulations that were expected to reach 3 inches overnight.

Other locations were forecast to receive as much as 8 inches of snow in the second winter storm this week to drop snow on the desert city.

Snow piled up around the famous “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign on the south end of the Strip, as visitors parked and posed for pictures wearing hooded jackets. In other parts of the Las Vegas valley, snowfall toppled trees, blanketed rooftops and delighted residents who rarely get to see winter weather.

“The Defense of Thugs” by Terry Scambray

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Hatred for America is not a recent phenomenon. Despite the opportunities offered in America for all races, creeds and nationalities, a tradition persists that Americans are racist, superficially religious and uncomfortable with foreigners.

One of the episodes in American history used to support this lie is the Sacco & Vanzetti case, enshrined as the most shameful example of American racism, intolerance and xenophobia. However, despite the parade of books, movies and monuments commemorating Sacco & Vanzetti as victims of American bigotry, the truth is that they were assassins and terrorists.

The Crime

On April 15, 1920, in South Braintree, Massachusetts, a paymaster and his guard were shot to death by two bandits who took $16,000.

Nicola Sacco & Bartolomeo Vanzetti were convicted and sentenced to death for these crimes. After various legal motions, capped by an exhaustive investigation by a governor’s committee, the verdict was upheld and they were executed on August 23, 1927, amid international, anti-American protests in which several people were killed.

The Evidence

When arrested, Sacco carried a loaded Colt automatic along with a variety of spare bullets. Ballistics tests matched his gun to one of the fatal bullets — a conclusion confirmed by ballistics tests in 1961 and 1983. Also confirming Sacco’s guilt was the fact that some of his spare bullets, though extremely rare, matched the fatal bullet. Also, the bullets found on him matched the brands of the spent shells at the crime scene. Though no more evidence was needed, tests in 1983 revealed that shells found at the crime scene were manufactured by the same machine as the bullets found on Sacco.

Vanzetti, though not tied to the crime by such unequivocal evidence, also carried a loaded revolver like the one that was taken from the paymaster’s guard as he was dying. Also incriminating were the contradictory alibis that Sacco & Vanzetti improvised in order to explain their suspicious behavior.

Yet, despite the obvious guilt of the defendants, how did this case become the bronzed icon known as “The Case of the Century”, or, as Stalin called it, “The second most important event of the 20th century”?

A Publicity Stunt

Realizing what a lame case he had, Fred Moore, Sacco & Vanzetti’s defense attorney, framed it as a morality play, pitting xenophobic New Englanders against two indigent immigrants with unpopular anarchist ideas. Moore thus pioneered the use of the “Oprah” factor, now relentlessly exploited to gain sympathy for a variety of miscreants, including Guantanamo detainees.

But the man who really energized the case as a vehicle of international anti-Americanism was Willi Munzenberg, Stalin’s public relations genius. Munzenberg saw the case as a way to discredit America as the world’s great melting pot which rivaled the Soviet myth of Russia as a worker’s paradise.

He finessed Felix Frankfurter, then a Harvard professor, into writing an article which became the most influential polemic supporting the defendants. Though the article was rubbish, Frankfurter’s prestige mesmerized the intelligentsia.

Munzenberg had the article circulated worldwide which attracted a host of gullible world class figures like H.G. Wells and others who relished seeing America degraded. So Munzenberg’s lie took root. As Paul Johnson, the peerless British historian writes: “The Sacco Vanzetti case laid the first of what were to be many archeological layers of anti-Americanism in the world, and destroyed the faith of many innocent people in the American dream.”

Abortionists: Here’s How to Evade Reporting Rape

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

No surprise to me over what these people are capable of doing.

Another staff member for Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion industry player, has counseled a “pregnant 13-year-old” to avoid mandatory statutory rape reporting laws, suggesting the patient look into the states that surround Indiana.

In Indiana, sex involving an adult and a 13-year-old is a felony, and any time a minor under 14 is involved, law enforcement must be contacted immediately. However, the video released by LiveActionFilms.org reveals a counselor suggesting how those requirements can be avoided.

It’s the second such revelation in just the past few days.

WND reported earlier when the pro-life activist making the videos, 20-year-old Lila Rose, went under cover into a Bloomington, Ind., Planned Parenthood facility where a “nurse” ignored the apparent felony and coached the “patient” to protect the assailant.

The “nurse” in that video later was disciplined by Planned Parenthood, although it was just the latest in a series of videos released by Rose that have documented the activities of Planned Parenthood. She first revealed similar results from a Planned Parenthood facility in California, and also released a series of reports when Planned Parenthood officials agreed to accept a donation that would fund the killing of an unborn black baby.

The newest video shows the Planned Parenthood counselor suggesting the investigator, again Lila Rose posing as a 13-year-old, check out nearby states to avoid Indiana’s mandatory reporting requirements if she wants an abortion.

The video is embedded here: [see original link. -ed]

The Indianapolis video was made the same day as the earlier one from the Bloomington Planned Parenthood, officials with LiveActionFilms said.

It reveals Rose entering the clinic and reporting her age as 13, and expressing concern about the trouble her pregnancy could cause for her boyfriend.

“I can understand that. We have laws to follow here in Indiana. And you have to get (parental) approval if you’re a minor. And we have to follow the laws,” a Planned Parenthood employee said.

But she also confirmed, “We don’t ask anything about your boyfriend. We don’t really care about who, what the age of the boyfriend. It’s consensual. It’s your choice.”

The patient then is turned over to a “counselor,” who hears again of the concern over trouble for the boyfriend.

“Well, a lot of people will say, well, you know, yeah, he is over such and such. And you can do statutory rape and whatever. But it’s going to be in the papers. So most people will threaten stuff and don’t go through with it, ok,” the counselor says.

Then she continues. “Surrounding states don’t have parental consent.”

“What state should I go to,” the patient asks.

“I can’t tell you any more,” continues the counselor. “I said surrounding states, so think about the states that are surrounding Indiana and do some research.”

An earlier video featuring Rose, who recently was named a winner of a Life Prize award presented by the Gerard Health Foundation, revealed a Planned Parenthood counselor suggesting to the 13-year-old how to answer if questions about her boyfriend arise.

“You know. You’ve seen him around. You know he’s 14. He’s in your grade and whatever. OK. So that’s that problem solved,” Planned Parenthood’s counselor said.

Then she suggests how to get an abortion without a parental signature by going across state lines to Illinois.

“Now I’m going to give you a piece of paper, because I cannot tell you this. OK. But I can show you this,” she said.

She shows the patient a piece of paper with the information about an Illinois clinic circled. The patient responds, “So in Illinois.” Then the nurse circles all of the other clinic listings on the page to conceal her efforts to direct the child to the Illinois clinic.

Officials with LiveAction said the video, a part of the Mona Lisa project, demonstrates “the routine lawlessness of abortion providers at Planned Parenthood.”

Rose cited the status of Planned Parenthood as a tax-exempt non-profit that made more than $100 million in profit in 2007 and has a budget of $1 billion, nearly one-third of which comes from taxpayers.

The Texas-based pro-life group Life Dynamics previously conducted an extensive undercover project in which an adult volunteer posing as a 13-year-old called every Planned Parenthood clinic in the U.S., saying she was pregnant by a 22-year-old boyfriend. Almost without exception, the clinics advised her to obtain an abortion without her parents’ knowledge and told her how to protect her boyfriend, who would be guilty in any state of statutory rape.

Pakistani President Zardari Claims “No Firm Proof” Mumbai Terrorist Came From Pakistan

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

Pakistan is going to continue to fool around and not take responsibility for the terrorist who came from their country. This could very well lead to an escalation in violence between the two countries. A real shooting war between two nuclear powers…two nuclear powers who believe they will be greatly rewarded in death by killing lots of their enemies. This sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has said there is still no firm proof that gunmen who attacked the Indian city of Mumbai came from Pakistan.

US, Indian and British officials all say there is clear evidence suggesting the attacks originated in terrorist training camps inside Pakistan.

But speaking to the BBC, Mr Zardari said there was still no conclusive evidence to substantiate the claim.

However he promised Pakistan would take action if a link was proved.

More than 170 people died in last month’s attacks in Mumbai (Bombay), which India blamed on the Lashka-e-Taiba militant group.

Full investigation

Mr Zardari told the BBC’s Alan Little in Islamabad that Pakistan was prepared to act if adequate evidence of any Pakistani complicity in the attacks emerged.

“If that stage comes, and when it comes, I assure you that our parliament, our democracy, shall take the action properly deemed in our constitution and in our law,” he said.

He said that Western intelligence agencies had not offered firm evidence to justify claims that the attacks were orchestrated from Pakistani soil and that he would not jump to conclusions until a full investigation had been conducted.

Mr Zardari said claims that the sole surviving attacker had been identified by his own father as coming from Pakistan had not been proven. The man has been named as Mohammed Ajmal Amir Qasab and is in Indian police custody.

The Pakistani president also said Hafiz Saeed, the leader of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa charity, would remain under house arrest.

“Let me assure you that if there is any investigation to be found pointing towards his involvement in any form of terrorism, he shall be tried for that reason,” the president said.

Jamaat-ud-Dawa is accused of being a front for Lashkar-e-Taiba, a charge it denies.

Mr Zardari said that he had asked India to co-operate in an investigation and he would not leap to judgement while that investigation was continuing.

He said that while he was not in denial about Lashkar-e-Taiba’s continued activities, ”when you ban an organisation they emerge in some other form”.

‘Hiccup’

Meanwhile, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has expressed regret after his Indian counterpart said peace moves between the countries were on hold because of the Mumbai attacks.

But Mr Qureshi said relations between the two countries – which both have nuclear arms – would recover.

“This unfortunate incident has been a setback… to the extent that our composite dialogue is at a pause at the moment,” Mr Qureshi said.

“But I am confident that we will overcome this hiccup… the future of Pakistan demands good neighbourly relations with India, so it’s my responsibility to develop good bilateral relations.”

Mr Qureshi said that the two countries had a “common objective, a common challenge and a common enemy” in relation to “terrorism”.

Mutilated Indian Christian Girl, 10, Forgives Hindu Attackers

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

Pray for this young girl and that her attackers will come to understand what Jesus is all about.

Hindu extremists may have burned a 10-year-old Christian girl’s face, inflicted shrapnel wounds on 40 percent of her body and forced her family to hide in a forest and flee to a refugee camp in Orissa, India, but her plight hasn’t shaken her faith and thankfulness to God this season.

“Christmas is a time to thank the baby Jesus who saved me from the fire and saved my face which was disfigured and wounded,” Namrata Nayak told Asia News.

Nayak’s face was severely mutilated after Hindu extremists bombed the home where she was staying on Aug. 26. They broke into the house and burned it while Nayak and her siblings hid in a small bathroom. Before exiting the home, they left a bomb in a dresser, according to the report.

While the little girl surveyed the destruction, the bomb detonated and burned her face.

The explosion also lodged shrapnel into her face, hands and back.

Nayak’s mother, Sudhamani, came running out of the forest where she was hiding.

“We saw everything burned, and feared that everyone had died in the flames,” Sudhamani said. “Instead, thanks to God, everyone was safe. Only that my daughter had been wounded. But Jesus took care of her. We took her to the hospital in Berhampur, still unconscious and badly hurt.”

Nayak spent 45 days recovering in the hospital. Despite all her troubles, she is cheerful and giving thanks to God for healing her.

“There is so much pain and suffering, and I don’t know how long the special forces will protect us,” she told Asia News. “But Christmas is a time of gratitude. I am afraid that my people will still be attacked, but this is our life. If God has saved me, he can save other Christians too.”

The Hindu attackers have vowed to launch another widespread assault on Christians during Christmas. The violence began after Christians were blamed for the death of Hindu leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati on Aug. 24. They continue to be persecuted even though Maoists openly admitted to murdering Saraswati.

Hindus have offered money, food and alcohol to anyone who murders Christians and destroys their homes – especially pastors. Thousands of homes and churches have been destroyed, and Christians have been forced to flee the violence. Many have been doused with kerosene and torched after refusing to renounce their Christian faith.

Nonetheless, Nayak urges India’s Christians to forgive their Hindu attackers.

“[W]e forgive the Hindu radicals who attacked us, who burned our homes,” she told Asia News. “They were out of their minds, they do not know the love of Jesus. For this reason, I now want to study so that when I am older I can tell everyone how much Jesus loves us. This is my future.”

Nayak said her life plan is to share the message of God’s love.

“The world has seen my face destroyed by the fire, now it must come to know my smile full of love and peace,” she said. “I want to dedicate my life to spreading the Gospel.”

Isam Biased Against Women

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

Not a very surprising title really. One would expect a religion that views their women as property to be somewhat biased against them.

A Muslim think tank has found some UK Imams discriminate against women when enforcing Islamic Sharia law.

Scholars at the Centre for Islamic Pluralism (CIP) interviewed 90 Muslims in London, the West Midlands, Lancashire and West Yorkshire.

They found some women did not get fair hearings in forced marriage, arranged marriage and domestic violence matters.

It comes after an NHS doctor was freed in Bangladesh following claims she was being held there for a forced marriage.

Sharia law governs every aspect of a Muslim’s life, and Imams or scholars give out rulings on how to live by God’s wishes. Some mosques hold Sharia courts.

The CIP’s international director and its report’s author Dr Irfan Al-Alawi said women seeking help in situations like forced marriages often turned to Imams for a ruling on what to do.

“Our research shows that domestic violence and forced marriages seem to be the dominant problems that women are facing and seeking Sharia rulings on.

“In every case it is a male who is the defendant coming from India, Pakistan or Bangladesh.

“Some ladies have approached the Imams and the Imams… have encouraged the ladies to stay with their husband or with their in-laws, whereby they have a duty bound under the Sharia.”

He said he knew of a 15-year-old girl in Pakistan who was tricked into marriage over the telephone with a 40-year-old man from Sheffield, who had the mental age of a four-year-old child.

“The Home Office refused to recognise the validity of the marriage but the Islamic Sharia Council in Britain accepted it,” said Dr Al-Alawi.

He said Imams should be working at the heart of their communities showing leadership, but some were failing to do so.

President Bush Thinking of Border Agent Pardons?

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

Former U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean are in jail for shooting a drug runner in the bottom. He was running away from them and showed a weapon, so they fired on him. They got ten years for doing this.
There is still some facets of this situation that don’t make sense. The punishment doesn’t fit the crime. The fact that the witness against the border agents was caught red handed with a van full of drugs, but this evidence was not allowed in court. There are just many strange things about this case that don’t add up.
We should put pressure on President Bush to pardon these agents.

As president, George W. Bush has pardoned or commuted sentences for 32 drug dealers, 12 thieves, seven embezzlers, an arsonist, an armed bank robber and eight Thanksgiving turkeys, among others – but U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean remain in prison this Christmas, praying for their release.

“It’s pretty much salt in the wound,” Ramos’ wife, Monica, told WND. “But we have a lot of hope. My husband has quite a bit of faith, and we pray a lot. We are hoping the outpouring of support that we have here from people all over the nation is going to help us.”

Ramos and Compean are serving 11- and 12-year prison sentences, respectively, for shooting at a fleeing illegal alien drug dealer while he smuggled nearly 750 pounds of marijuana across the border. They were convicted of assault, discharge of a weapon in the commission of a crime of violence, tampering with an official proceeding and deprivation of civil rights.

U.S. Attorney
Johnny Sutton’s office gave the smuggler, Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila, full immunity from prosecution for agreeing to serve as the government’s star witness and testify against the border agents. A ruling, from the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of appeals, affirmed all convictions except for tampering with an official proceeding, which it vacated and remanded for resentencing.

Another lonely Christmas

For the Ramos and Compean families, this time of year is often very emotional without Ignacio and Jose.

“We have six children involved,” Monica said. “It’s really difficult – especially right now during this holiday season. Holidays for us are very depressing.”

She said the Ramos and Compean children, five boys and one girl, range in age from 2 to 15. Ramos’ imprisonment has drastically altered his three children’s lives.

“Four years later, the kids have really changed,” she said. “Their father was a huge part of their everyday routines, from little-league baseball to hunting. A lot of the traditions that we’ve had during our holidays have just changed. There is not much tradition anymore because there’s a big void in our family right now.”

Ramos’ children rarely get to see their father because Monica’s visits have been restricted to a single weekday, when the children are in school.

“My husband is supposed to be eligible for extra visits, and they have denied me extra visits with him,” she said.

Ramos was segregated from the general prison population after he was assaulted in a Yazoo City, Mass., federal penitentiary following an “America’s Most Wanted” episode that detailed the agents’ struggles.

“A couple of the inmates in general population on the night it aired recognized my husband on TV,” Ramos said. “They approached him shortly after the airing right when it was time to go to sleep, and five illegals just beat him severely.”

The agent suffered three herniated disks and a fractured shoulder from the assault.

Sign WND’s petition urging President Bush to free U.S. Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.

Four days later, representatives from Washington, including Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., and other congressional staffers, went to visit him.

“They were absolutely floored with what they saw happen to my husband,” his wife said.

Ramos served only four days in general population. He was placed in total solitary confinement after the attack, and within months he was relocated to the Phoenix Federal Correctional Institute so he could be closer to his family. The new prison was accommodating and allowed normal visitation privileges at first.

However, Monica said seeing her husband now “is like pulling teeth.”

“He is not supposed to be under the punitive consequences of segregation, even though he’s there,” she said. “He is supposed to be eligible for any of the provisions that would be for any general population.”

India-Pakistan War a Real Concern

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

Lt. Colonel Bob Maginnis (USA-Ret.) recently published a commentary on HumanEvents.com. He believes the Indian government desperately seeks a diplomatic solution in the wake of the massacre of hundreds of innocent Indians by Islamists who belonged to the Pakistani-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, or LeT.

A captured LeT gunman admitted that he was trained in Pakistan by an army official. The Asia Times also reported that an element of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence agency allegedly approved the Mumbai attack. Maginnis says now there has been significant movement by both countries in preparation for some kind of military action.

“Clearly India has put its air force on alert in anticipation of, perhaps, a military action. We have seen some movement by the Pakistanis going after some of the leaders of LeT,” he explains. “We’ve seen them arrest people, attack base camps, and so forth.”

Maginnis adds that whatever the Pakistanis do may be insufficient. “I do believe that the political pressure on the Indian government [means] that they’re going to have to take some sort of retaliatory action because this is not the first in the last couple of years [of] Islamic attacks,” he contends. “There have been quite a few. So it is a worrisome trend.”
