Tea Party Protesters Gird for Possible Liberal Backlash

Message to the Federal Government – Don’t Tread on Me (Click Here to Learn More)

The disdain of the criminal liberal left (ACORN) says it all – “you (conservatives) don’t matter, so just shut up”. Their rage and anger against anything anti-Obama is pathetic.

“This is the first we’ve heard of these so-called ‘tea parties.’ And, frankly, a bunch of small get-togethers by fringe conservative activists dedicated to simply saying ‘no’ is of little interest to us,” said ACORN spokesman Brian Kettenring.

That’s what the left thinks of you. Are you disturbed by this? Maybe you should be…

What would a party be without party poopers?

As anti-tax protesters organize tea parties across the country on April 15, rumors are swirling that a backlash is brewing.

Some believe ACORN, which has been under scrutiny for accusations of voter fraud, is preparing to crash some of the tea parties. But ACORN says it is only helping to organize dozens of rallies on the same day in support of President Obama’s first budget.

“This is the first we’ve heard of these so-called ‘tea parties.’ And, frankly, a bunch of small get-togethers by fringe conservative activists dedicated to simply saying ‘no’ is of little interest to us,” said ACORN spokesman Brian Kettenring.

He did not say where the pro-Obama rallies would take place, leaving open the possibility that they may clash with some tea parties.

Tea party organizers, meanwhile, say they’re not worried at all about possible disruption.

“If ACORN wants to send some of their paid, pretend activists to show up, that’s fine,” John O’Hara, who is holding a tea party in Chicago, told FOX News. “They don’t have a message that resonates with the American people or resonates with this broad coalition that’s upset with the spending that’s going on in Washington.”

“We don’t take them seriously,” said Mark Mekler, who is organizing a tea party in Sacramento. “We expect people to attempt to infiltrate, we expect people to attempt to disturb what we’re doing.

“But the reality is this is a very broad-based grassroots movement,” he told FOX News. “There is no leader at the top. There is no individual event that they can disturb that would cause us a problem nationwide.”, which is helping to organize the protests, said more than 250 locations in all 50 states will hold rallies on April 15. Some believe ACORN will try to make the tea parties look like fringe group efforts at best, and racist undertakings at worst.

Mekler said he is not concerned with how outsiders may try to portray their efforts.

“The people who are involved understand they’re not racist, they’re not fringe, they’re not even partisan,” he said.

“I mean, these are events where we have across-the-board Democrats, Republicans, conservatives, liberals, libertarians. The people who are going to be there know what’s going on. We’re not worried about these folks polluting the event.”

ACORN said if there are protesters, it won’t be from its ranks.

“The idea that ACORN is out to disrupt these meet-ups of fringe activists is yet another conservative fantasy,” Kettenring said.

“At this point, it would not surprise us to wake up tomorrow and see conservative media fingering ACORN’s 500,000 member families as the principle cause of global climate change,” he said in a written statement.

Again, the disdain from ACORN is revolting.

Analyst: No Surprise Media Mainstays Ignore Tea Parties

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Message to the Federal Government – Don’t Tread on Me (Click Here to Learn More)

“That’s right, Serfs…know your place. No one dares to insult the inspired plans of The One, His Massive (un)Impressiveness, Emperor Obama I of America, with your so-called “Tea Party” protest. Who do you think you are, citizens with civil rights? Ha!!! Now cheer your admiration for him…or else.” 1

Major members of the traditional media in the United States – television networks, daily newspapers and the like – are ignoring the potentially nation-shaking story of the Tea Party protests because they attack President Barack Obama’s massive tax-and-spend policies, according to a media analyst.

“I don’t think they like a nationwide protest they perceive as attacking their guy,” said Dan Gainor, vice president of the Media Research Center’s Business and Media Institute.

“Yes, the mainstream media helped Obama get elected,” he affirmed.

Gainor’s comments came in an interview with Greg Corombos of Radio America/WND.

Gainor said the ethics of professional journalism require that the “big news” of the day be covered.

But on Feb. 27 when 30,000 gathered for Tea Party protests the events largely were ignored.

“Now [on Wednesday] we’re looking at hundreds of thousands of people potentially,” he said.

He said the Tea Party movement itself is remarkable.

“What it shows here is that Barack Obama got elected by high-tech means … using new technology,” Gainor said. “Not even 100 days into Obama, a conservative [movement] … managed to coalesce opposition to big spending in Washington.”

He said the movement was mobilized using Twitter, talk radio and other high-tech methods.

If, or when, the media outlets fail to cover the Wednesday events, “Certainly a couple hundred thousand people are going to know very clearly why the traditional media is falling away, why people are turning to alternative media, on the Web, or talk radio,” he said.

1 “or else” may include the following: headache, fever, chills, targeted taxation, labeled as a domestic “terrorist” and/or internment in one of the Emperor’s “reeducation” facilities (“Emperor Obama, The One” one hour video documentary shown hourly for the duration of your sentence). If “conservative” symptoms persist, discontinue use of civil freedoms and locate the nearest Home Land Security operative or Obama Youth Brigade (aka “Brown Shirt”) member for further indoctrination.

Homeland Security on Guard for ‘Right-Wing Extremists’

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Emperor Obama and his Homeland Security chief would like you to believe that so-called “right-wing” conservatives are the new “terrorist” and must be watched closely for possible criminal activity.
His Most (un)Impressiveness, Emperor Obama I, won’t use the word “terrorist” to describe actual terrorist. He has renamed the “War on Terror” to the mundane and non-descriptive “Overseas Contingency Operation”, so why wouldn’t he hang the misnomer of “terrorist” on his conservative detractors in order to demonize them?
He was voted in on the promise of “change”. Now he hopes to “change” all of his detractors into criminals.

Jen Rast at the Scriptorium had this to say:

“Obama and Homeland Security are following the Marxist Handbook and busying themselves labeling us conservatives as right wing extremists, and even terrorists. In this report that was originally intended for office use only, but got leaked, DHS insults Veterans by warning that they may come home from war and use their skills for terrorist attacks at home. It also warns of the threat posed by Christians who believe in end-time prophecy. Clinton went after the Militias of the 90’s in a similar way, but he wasn’t this insulting, and he didn’t take it to this extreme. Below are a few choice paragraphs and quotes from the report, but you should read the whole article. This country is going to change drastically in the near future, I fear. And it’s not the kind of change the Left thought they would get (with the exception of the hard left, who’ve been calling us conservatives terrorists for years). We elected a Kenyan Muslim, and now Christians and Veterans are the new terrorists among us. Nice. I hope they don’t expect us to be intimidated by this report and go into hiding. The tax day Tea Parties should dispel any notion that we aren’t going to fight the communist takeover of our country by Obama and his tax evading thugs.”

“Yeah, us Christians have been blowing up buildings, planning attacks on military bases, and bombing peoples homes for years. Wait, no, that was Obama’s long time friend, the author of his memoirs, William Ayers of the Weather Underground. My mistake.”

“UPDATE: For anyone who doubted the authenticity of the DHS report above, Michelle Malkin is reporting that the hit job Obama did on conservatives through DHS is indeed an accurate report, and the Report is real.”

Here is a link to Michelle Malkin’s information.

WASHINGTON – A newly unclassified Department of Homeland Security report warns against the possibility of violence by unnamed “right-wing extremists” concerned about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on firearms, abortion and the loss of U.S. sovereignty and singles out returning war veterans as particular threats.

The report, titled “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment,” dated April 7, states that “threats from white supremacist and violent anti-government groups during 2009 have been largely rhetorical and have not indicated plans to carry out violent acts.”

However, the document, first reported by talk-radio host and WND columnist Roger Hedgecock, goes on to suggest worsening economic woes, potential new legislative restrictions on firearms and “the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.”

The report from DHS’ Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines right-wing extremism in the U.S. as “divided into those groups, movements and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups) and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”

“[T]he consequences of a prolonged economic downturn – including real estate foreclosures, unemployment and an inability to obtain credit – could create a fertile recruiting environment for right-wing extremists and even result in confrontations between such groups and government authorities similar to those in the past,” the report says.

It adds that “growth in these groups subsided in reaction to increased government scrutiny as a result of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and disrupted plots, improvements in the economy and the continued U.S. standing as the pre-eminent world power.”

“Proposed imposition of firearms restrictions and weapons bans likely would attract new members into the ranks of right-wing extremist groups as well as potentially spur some of them to begin planning and training for violence against the government,” the report continues. “The high volume of purchases and stockpiling of weapons and ammunition by right-wing extremists in anticipation of restrictions and bans in some parts of the country continue to be a primary concern to law enforcement.”

Most notable is the report’s focus on the impact of returning war veterans.

“Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to right-wing extremists,” it says. “DHS/I&A is concerned that right-wing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize veterans in order to boost their violent capacities.”

The report cites the April 4 shooting deaths of three police officers in Pittsburgh as an example of what may be coming, claiming the alleged gunman holds a racist ideology and believes in anti-government conspiracy theories about gun confiscations, citizen detention camps and “a Jewish-controlled ‘one-world government.'”

It also suggests the election of an African-American president and the prospect of his policy changes “are proving to be a driving force for right-wing extremist recruitment and radicalization.”

The report also mentions “‘end times’ prophecies could motivate extremist individuals and groups to stockpile food, ammunition and weapons. These teachings also have been linked with the radicalization of domestic extremist individuals and groups in the past, such as the violent Christian Identity organizations and extremist members of the militia movement.”

“DHS/I&A assesses that right-wing extremist groups’ frustration over a perceived lack of government action on illegal immigration has the potential to incite individuals or small groups toward violence,” the report continues.

The report states the DHS will be working with state and local partners over the next several months to determine the levels of right-wing extremist activity in the U.S.

Last month, the chief of the Missouri highway patrol blasted a report issued by the Missouri Information Analysis Center that linked conservative groups to domestic terrorism, assuring that such reports no longer will be issued. The report had been compiled with the assistance of DHS.

The report warned law enforcement agencies to watch for suspicious individuals who may have bumper stickers for third-party political candidates such as Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin.

It further warned law enforcement to watch out for individuals with “radical” ideologies based on Christian views, such as opposing illegal immigration, abortion and federal taxes.

Chief James Keathley of the Missouri State Patrol issued a statement that the release of the report, which outraged conservatives nationwide, prompted him to “take a hard look” at the procedures through which the report was released by the MIAC.

“My review of the procedures used by the MIAC in the three years since its inception indicates that the mechanism in place for oversight of reports needs improvement,” he wrote. “Until two weeks ago, the process for release of reports from the MIAC to law enforcement officers around the state required no review by leaders of the Missouri State Highway Patrol or the Department of Public Safety.”

“For that reason, I have ordered the MIAC to permanently cease distribution of the militia report,” he said. “Further, I am creating a new process for oversight of reports drafted by the MIAC that will require leaders of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Department of Public Safety to review the content of these reports before they are shared with law enforcement. My office will also undertake a review of the origin of the report by MIAC.”

April 13 – New York – The American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists has announced that they will be holding a week long counter-conference in New York City from April 20-24 as a response to the upcoming UN sponsored Durban II conference to he held in Geneva, Switzerland. While the purported agenda of the Durban II conference includes addressing such issues as “racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and other forms of intolerance” it appears that the Durban II conference will be a replication of the Durban I conference that was held in 2001. At that notoriously anti-Israel hate fest, both representatives from Israel and the USA walked out in defiance of the libelous propaganda being promulgated against Israel. Besides labeling Israel as an apartheid state, other metaphors reminiscent of Nazi incitement were also extolled.

Concerning those countries involved in planning the agenda for the Durban II conference, Anne Bayefsky of the web site and the Hudson Institute issued a report dated April 7 that states, “the most active participants by a huge margin are the member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference [OIC]. And right at the top of the OIC’s star contributors — in a meeting to combat intolerance — is Iran. That’s the country where homosexuality is a capital offence, women are stoned to death for alleged adultery, and whose president openly advocates the murder of 5 million Jews.”

Bob Weinberg, former president of the AAJLJ said, “As to what will occur at the Durban II conference in Geneva, we are under no illusions. The Durban II conference will symbolize a devolution of venalities from Durban I and we expect that every sophistical argument under the sun will be used against Israel in order to further the demonization of the Jewish state that is already in full swing. This is why we feel compelled to sponsor a counter-conference that will answer all the gross distortions, half truths and bald face lies that will be leveled against Israel especially in terms of their treatment of the Palestinians.”

Mr. Weinberg said that the conference which is being co-sponsored by 20 major American Jewish organizations including the American Jewish Committee, the Anti Defamation League, the American Zionist Movement and the Yale Institute for the Study of Anti-Semitism will take place at Fordham University Law School, on East 62nd Street off of Columbus Avenue in New York from Monday, April 20th to Friday, April 24th. The sessions will be held from noon to 2:00 pm on April 20, 21, 23 and 24 and from 4pm to 6pm on April 22nd. The public is invited and admission is free.

Among those addressing the Durban II counter-conference will be the Honorable Irwin Cotler, former Minister of Justice of Canada and Ambassador Richard Schifter, former US representative in the UN Human Rights Commission. A featured speaker on the topic of honor killings of women in the Muslim world will be Jewish Press op-ed contributor, Dr. Phyllis Chesler, Professor Emerita of Psychology and Women’s Studies at the City University of New York and author of 13 books including, “The New Anti-Semitism”.

“Racing Past the Constitution” by George Will

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

WASHINGTON — Rampant redistribution of wealth by government is now the norm. So is this: It inflames government’s natural rapaciousness and subverts the rule of law. This degeneration of governance is illustrated by the Illinois Legislature’s transfer of income from some disfavored riverboat casinos to racetracks.

Illinois has nine licensed riverboat casinos and five horse-racing tracks. In 2006, supposedly to “address the negative impact that riverboat gaming has had” on Illinois horse racing, the Legislature — racing interests made huge contributions to Gov. Rod Blagojevich — mandated a transfer of 3 percent of the gross receipts of the four most profitable casinos, those in the Chicago area, to the state’s horse-racing tracks. This levy, subsequently extended to run until 2011, will confiscate substantially more than $100 million.

What is to prevent legislators from taking revenues from Wal-Mart and giving them to local retailers? Or from chain drugstores to local pharmacies? Not the tattered remnant of the Constitution’s takings clause.

The Fifth Amendment says private property shall not “be taken for public use without just compensation” (emphasis added). Fifty state constitutions also stipulate taking only for public uses. But the Illinois Supreme Court ignored the public use question. Instead, the court said it is “well settled” that the takings clause applies only to government’s exercise of its eminent domain power regarding land, buildings and other tangible or intellectual property — but not money.

Conflicting rulings by state courts demonstrate that that question is chaotically unsettled. That is one reason the U.S. Supreme Court should take the Illinois case and reject the preposterous idea that money is not property within the scope of the takings clause — an idea that licenses legislative confiscations. Another and related reason why the court should take the case is to reconsider its 2005 ruling that rendered the “public purpose” requirement empty.

The careful crafters of the Bill of Rights intended the adjective “public” to restrict government takings to uses directly owned by government or primarily serving the general public, such as roads, bridges or public buildings. In 1954, in a case arising from a disease-ridden section of Washington, D.C., the court broadened the “public use” criterion. It declared constitutional takings for the purpose of combating “blight” that is harmful to the larger community.
