You Knit Me Together in My Mother’s Womb

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Jesus and Mary

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

Pray For James and Gail

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

Our friend, James, who is suffering from cancer, has decided to suspend his cancer treatments.
The radiation treatments for the tumors in his brain were ineffective and the chemotherapy treatments were causing holes to form in his lungs.
James has been so sick from these treatments. He and Gail have decided to maximize their remaining time together.
As a side note, yesterday was their thirty-seventh wedging anniversary.
Please continue to pray for them and for God’s will to be done.
Thanks and God Bless!!

Obama Considers Detaining Terror Suspects Indefinitely

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

This Obama Emperor dude is something else. He’s going to treat the Gitmo terrorist exactly the same way Bush was doing, expect he’s going to put us all in danger by holding them in the U.S.
If we are going to hold them “indefinitely”, why not just leave them in Gitmo? Some days I wonder about the intelligence (or lack thereof) in the White House.

The Obama administration is weighing plans to detain some terror suspects on U.S. soil — indefinitely and without trial — as part of a plan to retool military commission trials that were conducted for prisoners held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The proposal being floated with members of Congress is another indication of President Barack Obama’s struggles to establish his counter-terrorism policies, balancing security concerns against attempts to alter Bush-administration practices he has harshly criticized.

On Wednesday, the president reversed a recent administration decision to release photos showing purported abuse of prisoners at U.S. military facilities in Iraq and Afghanistan. Mr. Obama cited concern that releasing the pictures could endanger U.S. troops. Mr. Obama ordered government lawyers to pull back an earlier court filing promising to release hundreds of photos by month’s end as part a lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union.

The decision to block the detainee photos contrasts with the administration’s release last month of Bush-era Justice Department memorandums outlining the interrogation tactics used on prisoners by the Central Intelligence Agency. The release of the memos set off a heated political fight, with supporters of the Bush administration accusing the Obama White House of endangering the country and some of the current president’s supporters calling for criminal probes of those responsible for the interrogation policies.

The administration’s internal deliberations on how to deal with Guantanamo detainees are continuing, as the White House wrestles with how to fulfill the president’s promise to shutter the controversial prison. But some elements of the plans are emerging as the administration consults with key members of Congress, as well as with military officials, about what to do with Guantanamo detainees.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.), who met this week with White House Counsel Greg Craig to discuss the administration’s plans, said among the proposals being studied is seeking authority for indefinite detentions, with the imprimatur of some type of national-security court.

An Interesting Questionnaire for Palestinian Advocates.

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

If you are so sure that “Palestine, the country, goes back through most of recorded history,” I expect you to be able to answer a few basic questions about that country of Palestine:

1. When was it founded and by whom?

2. What were its borders?

3. What was its capital?

4. What were its major cities?

5. What constituted the basis of its economy?

6. What was its form of government?

7. Can you name at least one Palestinian leader before Arafat?

8. Was Palestine ever recognized by a country whose existence, at that time or now, leaves no room for interpretation?

9. What was the language of the country of Palestine ?

10. What was the prevalent religion of the country of Palestine ?

11. What was the name of its currency? Choose any date in history and tell what was the approximate exchange rate of the Palestinian monetary unit against the US dollar, German mark, GB pound, Japanese yen, or Chinese yuan on that date.

12. And, finally, since there is no such country today, what caused its demise and when did it occur?

You are lamenting the “low sinking” of a “once proud” nation. Please tell me, when exactly was that “nation” proud and what was it so proud of?

And here is the least sarcastic question of all: If the people you mistakenly call “Palestinians” are anything but generic Arabs collected from all over, or thrown out of, the Arab world, if they really have a genuine ethnic identity that gives them right for self-determination, why did they never try to become independent until Arabs suffered their devastating defeat in the Six Day War?

I hope you avoid the temptation to trace the modern day “Palestinians” to the Biblical Philistines: substituting etymology for history won`t work here.

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
— Genesis 17:7,8
And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
— Genesis 21:12
Gen 48:4 And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee [for] an everlasting possession.
— Genesis 48:4

The truth should be obvious to everyone who wants to know it. Arab countries have never abandoned the dream of destroying Israel; they still cherish it today. Having time and again failed to achieve their evil goal with military means, they decided to fight Israel by proxy. For that purpose, they created a terrorist organization, cynically called it “the Palestinian people,” and installed it in Gaza, Judea, and Samaria. How else can you explain the refusal by Jordan and Egypt to unconditionally accept back the “West Bank” and Gaza, respectively?

The fact is, Arabs populating Gaza, Judea, and Samaria have much less claim to nationhood than that Indian tribe that successfully emerged in Connecticut with the purpose of starting a tax-exempt casino: at least that tribe had a goal that motivated them. The so-called “Palestinians” have only one motivation: the destruction of Israel and in my book that is not sufficient to consider them a nation”, or anything else except what they really are: a terrorist organization that will one day be dismantled.

In fact, there is only one way to achieve peace in the Middle East. Arab countries must acknowledge and accept their defeat in their war against Israel and, as the losing side should, pay Israel reparations for the more than 50 years of devastation they have visited on it. The most appropriate form of such reparations would be the removal of their terrorist organization from the land of Israel and accepting Israel`s ancient sovereignty over Gaza, Judea, and Samaria.

That will mark the end of the Palestinian people. What are you saying again was its beginning?

EPA Criticized for CO2 Findings Based on Politics, NOT Science

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

The case against man made global warming continues to weaken and fall apart…

A White House memo has created a firestorm after it criticized the Environmental Protection Agency’s classification of greenhouse gas as a public health threat and warned that regulation of CO2 will result in “serious economic consequences” for businesses and the economy.

The document from the Office of Management and Budget questions the EPA’s April assessment because it claims it was not based on a thorough examination of costs and benefits and falls short on solid scientific findings.

Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., exposed the “smoking gun” after he received a nine-page memo marked “Deliberative: Attorney-Client Privilege.”

He presented the document to Lisa P. Jackson, EPA administrator, at a Tuesday hearing of the Environment and Public Works Committee.

“Council in this administration repeatedly, repeated questions the lack of scientific support that you have for this proposed finding,” he told Jackson. “Your findings were political, not scientific.”

He read from the memo. “There is a concern that the EPA is making a finding based on harm from substances that have no demonstrated direct health effects, such as respiratory or toxic effects,” it stated.

On multiple occasions, the document questions the EPA’s judgment in determining that greenhouse gases endanger public health.

“Since tropospheric ozone is already regulated under the Clean Air Act, EPA should explain why those regulations are inadequate to protect public health from the ozone impacts of climate change,” it said.

The OMB memo states:

Making the decision to regulate CO2 under the CAA [Clean Air Act] for the first time is likely to have serious economic consequences for regulated entities throughout the U.S. economy, including small businesses and small communities. Should EPA later extend this finding to stationary sources, small businesses and institutions would be subject to costly regulatory programs such as New Source Review.

Barrasso warned in a blog posting, “This misuse of the Clean Air Act will be a trigger for overwhelming regulation and lawsuits based on gases emitted from cars, schools, hospitals and small business. This will affect any number of other sources, including lawn mowers, snowmobiles and farms. This will be a disaster for the small businesses that drive America.”

The document is a combination of findings from government agencies sent to the EPA notes there are several gray areas in which greenhouse gases are “not well determined” and “not well understood.”

“Despite the findings in the memo, the White House has given the EPA the green light to move ahead with regulation under the Clean Air Act,” Barrasso wrote.

Senior Fellow Marlo Lewis of Competitive Enterprise Institute, a non-profit, non-partisan public policy group, said the memo simply confirms what free-market groups have been saying for months.

“The endangerment finding will trigger a regulatory cascade with potentially severe impacts on energy prices, economic development, and jobs,” he said in a statement.

Lewis said Obama is “playing with political dynamite.”

“Once EPA finalizes the endangerment finding, the stage is set for a flood of litigation to impose draconian Clean Air Act controls on the economy,” he said. “Similarly, litigation groups will demand that the Administration use the Endangered Species Act to stop greenhouse gas emissions.”

Lewis continued, “It will all happen on President Obama’s watch, and he will take all the blame. Republicans will be quick to exploit the political backlash. For the sake of the country and his own political legacy, President Obama should introduce legislation to preclude regulation of greenhouse gases under existing environmental statutes.”

“The Bible Always Comes Up Right” by Michael G. Mickey

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

With all the drama surrounding Miss California Carrie Prejean expressing support for the biblical definition of marriage, the post-pageant ugliness being directed at her from every direction for expressing a politically incorrect viewpoint, all the risque photos of her appearing out of nowhere damaging her Christian witness, and her fight to keep her crown, it would be easy, if only due to fatigue, for us to overlook something important in the news we need to absorb and remember.

Something frequently claimed by those supportive of the sinful lifestyle of homosexuality is scientists, in recent years, have proven there is a “gay gene” some people have that decides their sexuality for them; it’s something they’re born with. Is that claim factual? In a word, no. I’d liken it more to wishful thinking than fact. I’m not alone. is reporting that A. Dean Byrd, the past president of the National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH), is indicating that the American Psychological Association has issued an updated brochure that seems to take a totally different position than one it issued in 1998 which stated: “There is considerable recent evidence to suggest that biology, including genetic or inborn hormonal factors, play a significant role in a person’s sexuality.”

The latest brochure, according to the WND article, indicates “no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors.” NO FINDINGS as in NONE. Remember that, Christians!

To those of us who believe God’s Word, this news should come as no great surprise. After all, soon or later, the bible always comes up right. Because this is true, no one who reads this should feel unloved, disrespected or uncared for by Christians or by God Himself. Let me explain.

Regardless of the sinful nature we all have, myself included, God has provided us a path to reconciliation with Him in the person of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. No matter the sin, big or small in the eyes of man, the Bible tells us that salvation is available to everyone as well as eternal life! My prayer is that everyone who reads this, if they haven’t already, will call upon the Lord and be saved. The bible always comes up right and its promise to us all is unmistakable: If we place our trust in Christ, we are going to someday find ourselves in the eternal presence of God, all of us in perfect agreement, sin-free and so happy and fulfilled that nothing which presently troubles our minds or hearts will even come to mind any longer. Please, if you haven’t thus far, choose to follow Jesus Christ today.

Obama Warns Netanyahu: Don’t Surprise Me With Iran Strike

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

Emperor Obama has spoken. “Fools…don’t even dream of attacking an enemy bent on your ultimate destruction, most likely via nuclear weapons. You must clear it with me first. I am The One!! See my might!! I am everything to everyone. Know your place serfs!! No one does anything without my permission!! You will tell me your plans and I will hold one of my daily press conferences to tell the world about it and show everyone how much I’m in control. Israel, hear me and tremble!! Who do you think you are, the Chosen People of the Most High God??”

U.S. President Barack Obama has sent a message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanding that Israel not surprise the U.S. with an Israeli military operation against Iran.

The message was conveyed by a senior American official who met in Israel with Netanyahu, ministers and other senior officials. Earlier, Netanyahu’s envoy visited Washington and met with National Security Adviser James Jones and with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and discussed the dialogue Obama has initiated with Tehran.

The message from the American envoy to the prime minister reveals U.S. concern that Israel could lose patience and act against Iran. It is important to the Americans that they not be caught off guard and find themselves facing facts on the ground at the last minute.

Obama did not wait for his White House meeting with Netanyahu, scheduled for next Monday, to deliver his message, but rather sent it ahead of time with his envoy.

It may be assumed that Obama is disturbed by the positions Netanyahu expressed before his election vis-a-vis Tehran – for example, Netanyahu’s statement that “If elected I pledge that Iran will not attain nuclear arms, and that includes whatever is necessary for this statement to be carried out.” After taking office, on Holocaust Memorial Day Netanyahu said: “We will not allow Holocaust-deniers to carry out another holocaust.”

Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak do not oppose American dialogue with Tehran, but they believe it should be conducted within a limited window of time, making it clear to Iran that if it does not stop its nuclear program, severe sanctions will be imposed and other alternatives will be considered.

The American concern that Israel will attack Iran came up as early as last year, while president George W. Bush was still in office. As first reported in Haaretz, former prime minister Ehud Olmert and Barak made a number of requests from Bush during the latter’s visit to Jerusalem, which were interpreted as preparations for an aerial attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Following the Bush visit to Jerusalem, about a year ago the previous administration sent two senior envoys, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen, and the former U.S. national intelligence chief Mike McConnell to demand that Israel not attack Iran.

The previous administration also gave the message greater weight through Mullen’s public statement that an Israeli attack on Iran would endanger the entire region. Since that statement, Mullen has met a number of times with his Israeli counterpart, Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi.
