The Lamp of the Body

Jesus the Light of the World

“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you.”

Amina and Sarah Said

Wednesday, January 2, 2008

Yaser Abdel Said, 50, of the Dallas suburb of Lewisville, is accused of shooting Sarah Yaser Said, 17, and Amina Yaser Said, 18, in his taxi Tuesday night [January 1, 2008] and abandoning it in a parking lot, leaving them to die.

Police have not released a motive for the shootings, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported in its online edition Wednesday.

One of the teens called 911 on a cell phone about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and said she was shot, but she couldn’t tell police where she was, Irving police said.

Officers were dispatched to the area, which turned out to be about half a mile from the taxi, but didn’t find anyone, The Dallas Morning News reported in its online edition Wednesday. Police found the taxi with the bodies inside an hour later after a witness called and reported a suspicious vehicle in a hotel parking lot, said David Tull, an Irving police spokesman.

Police described Yaser Abdel Said as about 6-foot-2, weighing about 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black turtleneck shirt or sweater, a brown coat and tan pants. He is believed to be armed with a handgun, police said.

“Obama’s Cairo Speech” by Michael at Oleh Musings

    Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

I haven’t blogged lately, for a lot of reasons, but I recently posted my take on Obama’s Cairo speech to Facebook. It started out as a response to my sister’s knee-jerk applause for the President, and got a little bigger. Here it is:

Here is my take on President Obama’s speech in Cairo. I won’t post the whole text, just the parts I want to comment on. You can read the full text of the speech here.

He started out with a paragraph of meaningless platitudes, but started his second paragraph with this: “We meet at a time of great tension between the United States and Muslims around the world — tension rooted in historical forces that go beyond any current policy debate.”

Well, he’s right about that, but it’s about as obvious as stating that the sky is blue, or the night is dark. He very quickly gets into an appalling mess of historical misinterpretation and inaccuracy, combined with political naivete and wishful thinking, that can only lead to dire consequences. He continues: “…tension has been fed by colonialism that denied rights and opportunities to many Muslims, and a Cold War in which Muslim—majority countries were too often treated as proxies without regard to their own aspirations.”

What Obama is missing here is that “colonialism” is used by Islamic propagandists as a catchall term to deny any self-responsibility for thier own problems… It’s not our fault, the colonialists did it to us!” It’s also used as a code for “Zionists,” to deligitimize anything to do with Israel… “They don’t belong here, they’re just colonists!” By using the language of Islamics propagandists, Obama is feeding into their lies.

He also ignores the Cold War fact that many Arab and Muslim rulers tried to use the US-Soviet conflict to further their own aims, without regard for their own people’s needs. Nasser of Egypt was particularly adept at playing Cold War sides against each other.

Obama continues: “The attacks of September 11, 2001 and the continued efforts of these extremists to engage in violence against civilians has led some in my country to view Islam as inevitably hostile not only to America and Western countries, but also to human rights. All this has bred more fear and more mistrust.”

Well, duh! Can you imagine any better description of why Americans might not like or trust the Islamic world? Obama is on the edge of true understanding here, but falls right into wishful thinking: “I’ve come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition.”

Where is the mutual respect in Isamic Jihad? Or the laws of dhimmitude? Or in CAIR? I remember in 2006, during the Lebanon War, when some 10,000 Arabs and Muslims marched through Dearborn chanting ‘Death to Israel.’ Is that the mutual respect that Obama has in mind? Or is he thinking of the Mohammad cartoon riots?

And now we get to a crux of the matter: the mores of the Islamic really do appear quite incompatible with the mores of America. Where in any Islamic tradition is there anything that compares to the Bill of Rights? Is it in the provision that apostates get the death penalty? Or in the PA law mandating death for anyone who sells land to a Jew?

Obama continues: “But I am convinced that in order to move forward, we must say openly to each other the things we hold in our hearts and that too often are said only behind closed doors.”

Perhaps the President should take his own advice. The Islamic terrorists are not shrinking violets, and they are not shy about saying publicly what what is in their hearts… Just listen to Ahmadinijad, or Hamas, or Hezbollah, or even Turkish PM Erdogan, when he recently tried to shout down Pres. Peres. If Obama really wants to listen, it’s not too hard….

Obama goes on to misinterpret a great deal of history. I have only limited space here, so I’ll focus on a few small points: “I also know that Islam has always been a part of America’s story. The first nation to recognize my country was Morocco.”

He adds the Treaty of Tripoli, in which the US, under President Adams, said it was not at war with Islam. What Obama fails to recognize is that that treaty was negotiated by the fledgling republic to stop the Barbary coast pirates and slavers from taking US ships. After independence, American ships were no longer protected by the British Navy, and so were fair game for the Barbary pirates. The Treaty of Tripoli was, in effect, extortion: the US had to buy off the pirates. The attempt failed, and President Jefferson had to take America into its first foreign war: against those same Barbary pirates, who preyed on American ships and sailors.

But also, for a “student of history,” Obama sure does make a lot of basic mistakes. The first country to recognize the United States was France. Spain was second. Even Britain, the mother country, recognized American independence before Morocco did.

Obama adds: “And when the first Muslim American was recently elected to Congress, he took the oath to defend our Constitution using the same Holy Koran that one of our Founding Fathers — Thomas Jefferson — kept in his personal library.”

All I can say is: Inconceivable!
(You keep using that word. I do think it means what you think it means.)

What, exactly, is Obama implying about Jefferson here? Does he know why Jefferson read the Koran in the first place? Jefferson helped to negotiate the Treaty of Tripoli, and in so doing, met the Morroccan Ambassador to London, who gave an explicity Islamic justification for the piracy: infidels have no rights, but large commission just might hold the enforcement of Islamic law in abeyance. It was a shakedown job. Jefferson read the Koran to know his enemy.

An aside: I used to have a Koran in my personal library. Does that mean anything? Or does it just mean that I try to be educated, and widely-read?

Obama continues: “…I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”

He hasn’t read the Constitution. Here is Obama’s job description: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” That comes from the Constitution of the US. Nothing in there about boosting Islam, but a lot about boosting the US. Fighting negative stereotypes (of all sorts) can be compatible with that oath of office, but only as a minor sideshow.

Obama continues for a couple of paragraphs about how great Muslims are in America, and how great America is for Muslims. Mostly, it’s just platitudes, based on America’s tolerance for diversity. He never once contrasts it with the repression and discrimination that is rampant in the Islamic world.

But then Obama says this: “In Ankara, I made clear that America is not — and never will be — at war with Islam. We will, however, relentlessly confront violent extremists who pose a grave threat to our security — because we reject the same thing that people of all faiths reject: the killing of innocent men, women, and children.”

Three comments: First, America may not be at war with Islam, but a sizable chunk of Islam is at war with America. That’s what a lot of the troubles in the world today are all about. Take a look at Syria, Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Taliban, just for starters.

Second: Yes, people of all faith reject killing innocents, but there is only one faith that commands its adherents to kill or subjugate everyone else. I seem to remember a few things about that when I read the Koran….

Finally, civilized people reject the killing of innocents, but just how do we define innocents? A lot of Islamic terrorists (and plain rabble rousers) take the line that no one who isn’t Muslim can be innocent… which means it’s OK to kill everyone else. Whether those guys are right or wrong is irrelevant, since they ACT on their conviction. Obama ignores this fact at everyone else’s peril.

Obama continues with several paragraphs about the war in Afghanistan, showing that he absolutely does not understand the nature of the conflict. He says that America is only fighting one group (al-qaeda), but makes no mention of combatting the ideology that underlies that group, or of recognizing that al-qaeda is only one of many such groups. He can’t lead a winning campaign this way.

Obama goes on to say that the terrorists will win in Iraq by 2012, because that’s when US troops will leave.

And now Obama gets to Israel. This is where he starts to *really* get everything wrong. Which is sad, because he does make a couple of good points. First, the good:

“America’s strong bonds with Israel are well known. This bond is unbreakable….”

    “Palestinians must abandon violence….”

“Now is the time for Palestinians to focus on what they can build. The Palestinian Authority must develop its capacity to govern, with institutions that serve the needs of its people….”

Those are accurate statements, and can be the basis for an actual peace, except… that President Obama has no clue about what’s real, on the ground, here in the Middle East. Let’s continue from each set of elipses, shall we?

“America’s strong bonds with Israel are well known. This bond is unbreakable. It is based upon cultural and historical ties, and the recognition that the aspiration for a Jewish homeland is rooted in a tragic history that cannot be denied. Around the world, the Jewish people were persecuted for centuries, and anti-Semitism in Europe culminated in an unprecedented Holocaust….”

The Jewish aspiration for a homeland is not rooted in a tragic history. In fact, it predates the tragic history, predates the Holocaust, predates European anti-semitism, predates modern European civilization, predates Islam, predates Christianity… I think you get the picture.

Fact: Jewish aspirations for a homeland, in Israel, are based on a 3000+ year history of living in and loving this land. Israel is central to our religious beliefs and practices, we built the first independent kingdoms here, and through 1800 years of exile, never forgot our roots. The aftermath of WWII may have made the *re*establishment of Israel politically possible, but the desire for nation-hood and independence? That was there long before 1948.

Here’s the rest of that second quote: “Palestinians must abandon violence. Resistance through violence and killing is wrong and it does not succeed. For centuries, black people in America suffered the lash of the whip as slaves and the humiliation of segregation. But it was not violence that won full and equal rights. It was a peaceful and determined insistence upon the ideals at the center of America’s founding.”

Where to begin? First, Obama used the word ‘resistance.’ In pro-palestinian circles, this word has a very specific meaning: action against Israel. He says it’s wrong, but only through violence. I know that he meant it was always wrong, but what his audience hears is: “You’ve got the wrong tactic.”

And, to compound the error, he says that “resistance through violence” is wrong because it fails. In other words, for Obama, there is no moral argument against palestinian terrorism, only a practical argument. He has just swallowed all of their propaganda. And equated them with the morality of America’s Civil Rights movement, to boot.

Next quote: “Now is the time for Palestinians to focus on what they can build. The Palestinian Authority must develop its capacity to govern, with institutions that serve the needs of its people. Hamas does have support among some Palestinians, but they also have to recognize they have responsibilities. To play a role in fulfilling Palestinian aspirations, to unify the Palestinian people, Hamas must put an end to violence, recognize past agreements, recognize Israel’s right to exist.”

Uh-oh… President Obama has just said that any peace depends on Hamas. That ends it, right there. Has he ever read the Hamas Charter? Hamas believes that Israel will exist until Islam obliterates it. Period. There’s no room for past agreements, or Israel’s right to exist in there.

Let’s look at what else the President had to say about Israel:

“On the other hand, it is also undeniable that the Palestinian people — Muslims and Christians — have suffered in pursuit of a homeland. For more than 60 years they’ve endured the pain of dislocation. Many wait in refugee camps in the West Bank, Gaza, and neighboring lands for a life of peace and security that they have never been able to lead. They endure the daily humiliations — large and small — that come with occupation….”

Does Obama realize that the palestinians brought this on themselves? They left in ’48, at the urging of their leaders, to make room for Arab armies to kill all the Jews. And when those armies failed, the palestinians’ “Arab brothers” dumped them in refugee camps to use as a political weapon. It’s been a brilliant strategy, but it is not Israel’s fault. Since the end of WWII, the palestinians are the *only* refugee population that has not been repatriated or absorbed by their ethnic relations, as well as the only refugee population for whom refugee status is a birthright.

As for the occupation, we’ve seen what happens when Israel pulls its army out, from Lebanon in 2000, and Gaza in 2005. The result was emboldened terrorists who felt that Israel was on the ropes, prompting them to launch the 2006 Lebanon War, and a multi-year rocket campaign from Gaza. What do you think will happen if Israel pulls the army out of Judea and Samaria?

If the palestinians don’t want an “occupation,” they should put down their guns. And go home. And no one will follow them. But it’s obvious what will happen if Israel drops it’s weapons: every rocket out of Gaza tells us that.

The point is that President Obama has swallowed the propaganda of palestinian terrorists and their supporters. He’s using their terminology. He’s pushing for one of their big issues: no more “settlements,” or even construction in settlements. He’s even pushing to end the ‘natural growth’ exception.

This means that, according to Obama, the biggest obstacle to peace is Jews having babies. That’s natural growth. Obama’s *stated* formula is: Palestinians must stop violence, but Jews can’t have babies.

We are in for a dangerous four years with this joker in the White House.

“Misusing the Memory of the Murdered” by Stan Goodenough

    Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

I almost dare not write this. But I feel I dare not not. What I see is vivid as daylight. I have to let it out.

Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel has an ability shared by surely very few if any other men: to invoke with words the deep pain that has etched itself forever on his face.

Friday, he stood beside US President Barack Obama at Buchenwald, recalling how his father had died in that very same Nazi camp, just below him, and yet all alone. For nearly a year, father and son had been through hell together. And then, three months before liberation, it ended for his dad. After enduring the unendurable, his life had slipped away.

“The day he died was one of the darkest in my life. He became sick, weak, and I was there. I was there when he suffered. I was there when he asked for help, for water. I was there to receive his last words. But I was not there when he called for me, although we were in the same block; he on the upper bed and I on the lower bed. He called my name, and I was too afraid to move. All of us were. And then he died. I was there, but I was not there.”

As Wiesel spoke, his voice breaking, the sides of his mouth downturned in the anguish that clearly yet eats away inside him 64 years after that loss, tears must have been flowing in a million or more households where the moment was watched on TV. They surely flowed here.

Even more fell, as I watched Wiesel turn and appeal to Obama; pleading with him:

“Mr. President, we have such high hopes for you because you, with your moral vision of history, will be able and compelled to change this world into a better place, where people will stop waging war…

“And of course this hope includes so many of what now would be your vision for the future, Mr. President. A sense of security for Israel, a sense of security for its neighbors, to bring peace in that place. The time must come. It’s enough — enough to go to cemeteries, enough to weep for oceans. It’s enough”

He sounded so despairing, so trusting, at the same time, so without any real hope.

And this thought knifed through my mind, almost blasphemous, too quick to stop, too piercing to pretend away, too terrible to ignore:

    My heart felt squeezed, crushed.

How awful, how wicked, that the memory of the mass murder of Jews be used to pave the way for the mass murder of more.

I don’t want to believe it, but it won’t go away. The evidence of history – the history of the Jews, the history of the last century, the history of the last 20 years – it’s inescapable for me. Undeniable.

President Obama has set his course to propel Israel by pressure into the death trap of “two-states-for-two-peoples.” Positioning himself as a visionary, as a man of peace, as a man who really cares, he is seducing the world with lies about Islam, seducing Israel with lies about American friendship, and even seducing Elie Wiesel into putting his hope in the new American administration.

Before the survivor spoke, Obama scored Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and other Holocaust deniers:

“We are here today because we know this work is not yet finished. To this day, there are those who insist that the Holocaust never happened — a denial of fact and truth that is baseless and ignorant and hateful. This place is the ultimate rebuke to such thoughts; a reminder of our duty to confront those who would tell lies about our history.

“Also to this day, there are those who perpetuate every form of intolerance — racism, anti-Semitism, … hatred that degrades its victims and diminishes us all. … This places teaches us that we must be ever vigilant about the spread of evil in our own time, that we must reject the false comfort that others’ suffering is not our problem and commit ourselves to resisting those who would subjugate others to serve their own interests.”

What breath stealing hypocrisy. The president’s condemnation of Ahmadinejad for denying the Holocaust( comes just days after he hosted at the White House a man who chose Holocaust denial for his doctoral thesis and who heads up an organization the consistently lauds Holocaust deniers: Mahmoud Abbas and his Palestinian Authority (PA).

Abbas denies the Holocaust even as his PA works – as clearly documented by the Palestinian Media Watch ( and even acknowledged two years ago by Hillary Clinton – to poison the minds of their children against the Jews, to brainwash them into believing that they must and will destroy Israel, and to prepare the way to accomplish exactly that, using the two-state-solution as the jumping off point for their final solution.

Friday’s stint with Wiesel must have been very precisely planned – so carefully choreographed. It took to a whole new level Obama’s recent and increasingly high-profile speeches about America’s determination to “help bring peace to the Middle East” – coating them in the oil of compassion; and presenting them as the heartfelt wishes of a world leader moved to the depths of his soul.

How can Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his already divided government hope to resist and withstand such an overwhelming wave of sentiment and emotion?

How will Israel now be able to refuse Obama’s wish, the wish of the world, that it embrace the “solution” mandating the cutting in half of the Jews’ tiny, historic homeland; the suicide of the Jewish state?

This seems so useless; trying to write about it. Yes, I see these things clear as the daylight, but feel pathetically powerless to do anything about it at all.

If only what I put down would pierce, spear, rivet those who read it, drive them to act.

But it dribbles out; ineffectual, embarrassing, weak. Unable to make a difference. Unable to change a thing.

God alone can turn this around. God alone.

Without Him, the Jewish people would never have survived. Without Him, Israel will not survive.

May we indeed see Him act, speedily coming to the rescue of His Chosen People and their Promised Land.

North Korea Warns of ‘Merciless’ Nuclear Offensive

    Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

More saber rattling or is this an example of what happens when you let a mad man get nuclear weapons?

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea said Tuesday it would use nuclear weapons in a “merciless offensive” if provoked — its latest bellicose rhetoric apparently aimed at deterring any international punishment for its recent atomic test blast.

Pyongyang raised tensions a notch by reviving its rhetoric in a commentary in the state-run Minju Joson newspaper Tuesday.

“Our nuclear deterrent will be a strong defensive means … as well as a merciless offensive means to deal a just retaliatory strike to those who touch the country’s dignity and sovereignty even a bit,” said the commentary, carried by the official Korean Central News Agency.

It appeared to be the first time that North Korea referred to its nuclear arsenal as “offensive” in nature. Pyongyang has long claimed that its nuclear weapons program is a deterrent and only for self-defense against what it calls U.S. attempts to invade it.

The tough talk came as South Korea and the U.S. lead an effort at the U.N. Security Council to have the North punished for its nuclear test with tough sanctions.

Seoul’s Yonhap news agency reported Tuesday that South Korea had doubled the number of naval ships around the disputed sea border with the North amid concern the communist neighbor could provoke an armed clash there — the scene of skirmishes in 1999 and 2002.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff declined to confirm the report, but said the North has not shown any unusual military moves.

The tensions emanating from Pyongyang are beginning to hit nascent business ties with the South: a Seoul-based fur manufacturer became the first South Korean company to announce Monday it was pulling out of an industrial complex in the North’s border town of Kaesong.

The complex, which opened in 2004, is a key symbol of rapprochement between the two Koreas but the goodwill is evaporating quickly in the wake of North Korea’s nuclear test on May 25 and subsequent missile tests.

“Obama: It’s in Palestine’s Best Interest” by Michael G. Mickey

    Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Barack Obama’s long-anticipated speech to the Muslim world, delivered in Cairo, has finally been spoken and, in typical fashion, the entire liberal world is losing its mind praising him. Or should I say that the entire liberal world, already without a great deal of mind or conscience to begin with, is continuing its praise of him?

While there was much worthy of critique contained in Obama’s speech, which was filled to the brim with pandering to Muslims everywhere, I am going to strive to limit my commentary on our apologist-in-chief’s remarks to a discussion of what is in everyone’s “best interest”, from a prophetic perspective instead of the perspective Obama shared with the world today, one not a great deal unlike a speech our last president would have given, minus, perhaps, the ridiculous claim that “since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the United States.” Now don’t get me wrong here. I’m not suggesting that Americans of the Muslim faith haven’t done many of the things Obama credited them with during our nation’s storied history, but let’s get real here: America was founded as a Christian nation. The role Muslims played in shaping this nation’s early history? They played a role, sure, but it was anything but positive!

The first time Muslims enriched America wasn’t a great deal different than the radical elements of the faith have in recent years. Did you know that the first time this nation ever went to war it did so to fight off Muslim pirates? It’s true. That would be why our president then, Thomas Jefferson, owned the Koran that Obama brought up in today’s speech in a pathetic attempt to shore up his claim of Muslims enriching the U.S. from the very start! Sorry, sports fans and liberals everywhere! Thomas Jefferson wasn’t paying his respects to Islam by having a Koran as Barack Obama wanted everyone in Cairo to believe during today’s speech; he had one because he wanted to understand America’s enemies, but back to the topic at hand which is what Obama claimed today was in everyone’s best interest.

    The two state solution delusion

At a point in today’s speech, Obama said:

As the Holy Koran tells us, “Be conscious of God and speak always the truth.” That is what I will try to do – to speak the truth as best I can, humbled by the task before us, and firm in my belief that the interests we share as human beings are far more powerful than the forces that drive us apart.” (emphasis added mine)

With all due respect to both Obama and the Koran, a lot of what Barack Obama had to say had very little to do with the truth. In fact, that speech was as far from the truth on one topic as the east is from the west! What topic am I referring to? The topic of Middle East peace being a realistic final outcome of the creation of a Palestinian state on Israel’s covenant lands, an internationally concocted mess commonly referred to as the ‘two-state solution’.

According to Obama, it is our responsibility, as in mankind’s collective responsibility, to ensure that the day will come when Israelis and Palestinians will be able to live in “peace and security.” An interesting concept, sure, but at what cost? To achieve this goal, the world will have to thumb its nose at Almighty God and His everlasting covenant with Israel by pandering to the Palestinians, the majority of whom voted for a terrorist organization to head their democratically elected government, not to mention create an existential threat for Israel to cope with in the process! Does that sound like a good idea to anyone, something in everyone’s best interest? If so, please turn to Genesis 12:3 in the Holy Bible for starters. There you’ll see that there is absolutely nothing the world can do contrary to Israel’s best interests that’s in mankind’s best interest! That would be because Israel, not Palestine, is the apple of God’s eye. (Zechariah 2:8)

Regardless, to hear Barack Obama, the two state solution is in the best interest of:

    1. Israel
    2. PALESTINE – Yes, he actually called the mythical nation of Palestine by name.
    3. America
    4. The world

Foolish mankind and its godless goals

May God have mercy on those He is willing to between now and the time the Tribulation Period begins as Barack Obama, on this very day, told the Muslim world and, via his goon squad (the mainstream media), that it is in the entire world’s best interest for the seven-year Tribulation Period foretold in bible prophecy to begin. For accuracy’s sake, Obama didn’t knowingly say that and yet he precisely did. Why do I say that? Because the Antichrist to come, whoever he turns out to be, is going to confirm a covenant of peace in the Middle East seven years in length (Daniel 9:26-27). This event will, initially at least, cause many to rejoice that “peace and safety” has finally come! Their enthusiasm, however? It will be short-lived.

1st Thessalonians 5:3: For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. (emphasis added mine)

The moral of the story? Be very careful what you wish for, particularly if what you wish for is what God doesn’t!

Through God’s Word, all of this makes perfect sense!

The Bible long ago predicted that Jerusalem would become a “cup of trembling” and a “burdensome stone” to the world in the last days. (Zechariah 12:2-3)

Seemingly in direct response to that being the case, we’re told in prophecy that, sooner or later, someone is going to come forward on the world’s diplomatic stage who will take the world by storm by being, initially, a great peacemaker. He will “confirm” peace in the Middle East” with many” according to the prophet Daniel and, ironically, by the same peace “destroy many” according to Daniel 8:25. You see, by the time the true colors of this satanically anointed human being become visible and the world realizes he is the Antichrist, it will be too late for those who jumped on his bandwagon to get off it. And those who do? They will be fortunate to survive to the end of the Tribulation Period. That, my friends, is the cold, hard truth. Not Barack Obama-style truth, but biblical truth!

    The end is near

Just today someone wrote me to ask one of the most frequently asked questions ever posed to me, that question being whether I truly believe Christ’s return is drawing near. My answer, of course, was yes! After all, on this very day, a powerful leader told the world, in a speech televised live around the globe, that what is in the world’s best interest is for the world to enter into the prophesied Tribulation Period, assuming, of course, that the seven-year covenant of peace the Antichrist will confirm is going to be the one that leads to peace between Israel and its enemies, among whom are the Palestinians Barack Obama feels so sorry for — the same Palestinians who danced in the streets and passed out candy on September 11, 2001.

    The end times drama continues…

Call to the lost: What if the rapture comes and you’re left behind?

One of the most-read commentaries on my site is its post-rapture survival guide.

If you’re reading this today and haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I hope you will take what you’ve read here very seriously as today’s topic is just one of many issues in our world today pointing toward the return of Jesus Christ for His Church, potentially in the not-too-distant future.

If you have never read or heard what the future holds for those who miss the rapture, please take time to read the guide linked above because its contents may well be your future if you continue to live your life in rebellion against God. From my perspective, if you want to put off coming to faith in Jesus Christ right now at the risk of dying and going to hell OR missing the rapture and having to endure the Tribulation Period, that’s your call to make, but someone should still love you enough to share the facts with you so you’re at least able to make an informed decision, weigh the risks and benefits, you know?
