He Will Wipe Away the Tears

Friday, June 26th, 2009

On this mountain He will destroy
the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;

He will swallow up death forever.
The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears
from all faces;

Tears

He will remove the disgrace of his people
from all the earth.
The LORD has spoken.

Isaiah 25:7-8 (New International Version)

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

Soul Going to Heaven

Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Luke 23:42-43 (New International Version)

Obama Supporters Shut Down Atlanta Tea Party

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Message to the Federal Government – Don’t Tread on Me (Click Here to Learn More)

President Obama may restrict his reaction to the nationwide tea party movement whereby tens of thousands of people are objecting to the spending spree on which the U.S. government has embarked under his leadership, but some of his supporters are taking more direct action: using an easement agreement to cancel a July 4th event scheduled on private property in Atlanta.

Jason Lee at the American Thinker blog describes the situation that has developed for the 20,000 people expected to meet in Atlanta on July 4.

There, organizers had been working since March with officials to set up the tea party event in a parking lot of an old Macy’s building at Gwinnett Place Mall, owned by Simon Properties Group.

Then only days ago, mall officials objected, giving organizers no opportunity to find a replacement location and no choice but to cancel.

“It is unfortunate the event had to be canceled,” said Julianne Thompson, event co-organizer.

She continued, “The old Macy’s building is on private property, and not owned by Simon Malls, however the mall manager asked the property owner and [me] to come in the office on Thursday of this week, and told us Simon does not want political events on its property. They were also concerned about the fact we were using the term ‘protest.’ Although the event was on private property, the mall was able to assert authority on the matter due to reciprocal property easement agreements.”

Event co-chair Debbie Dooley stated, “Our Atlanta Tea Party team tried for the next day and a half to find an alternative location large enough for the event, and with the proper layout for our vendors, children’s activities, and fireworks show, but we could not find anything suitable that would have been available on July 4th.”

Added Lee, “With just a few days left until the Fourth of July Tea Parties begin, this is very unfortunate timing! One wonders why Simon Property Group waited until now to interfere.”

But he also connected the dots for those who really wonder:

1. Gwinnett Place Mall shut down the Atlanta Tea Party.
2. Simon Property Group owns Gwinnett Place Mall.
3. Melvin Simon (a Forbes 400 billionaire) is co-chairman of Simon Property Group, Inc.
4. Melvin Simon has provided large political contributions to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Al Franken, John Edwards, the DNC and many other Democrats and Democrat organizations.
5. Melvin Simon was a major contributor to Barack Obama’s inaugural committee and has given at least $1 million to the William J. Clinton foundation.
6. Melvin’s wife, Bren, personally donated almost $100,000 to various political candidates, was a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid and contributed to President Obama’s inaugural committee.

According to Bob Owens at Pajamas Media, the evidence of the motive also was clear.

California Proposition Eight Under Legal Attack Again

Friday, June 26th, 2009

This is going to be the norm, folks. California’s Proposition Eight is going to be attacked by homosexual activist again and again and again and again…well, you get the picture. They are not going to give up. They know the only way they can force the sinful lifestyle choice of homosexuality on everyone is through the liberal courts. So don’t look for this to ever go away.

George W. Bush’s former solicitor general, Ted Olson, has filed the lawsuit, which claims Prop. 8 — approved by 52 percent of voters in November 2008 — violates the due process and equal protection clauses of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. “Creating a second class of citizens is discrimination plain and simple,” Olson stated at a May 27 press conference. “Proposition 8 denies people fundamental constitutional rights.”

“Because of the fact that the attorney general of that state, Jerry Brown, has essentially conceded in his view that there is a federal constitutional right to same-sex marriage,” [Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel] explains. “So the state’s not going to defend it — and if the state’s not going to defend it, then who will?”

Olson is a member of the Federalist Society, an organization of attorneys who promote an “originalist” interpretation of the Constitution. In an interview with CNSNews.com, Liberty Counsel’s Matt Krause implies that Olson’s reputation as “somebody who stays true to the text of the Constitution and seems to be right on a lot of these issues” adds to conservatives’ concern about the lawsuit.

Obama Says We Shouldn’t Treat Old Folks to Save Money And the Media Goes Deaf

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Emperor Obama I’s Department of Propoganda (aka The Mainstream News Media) will continue to cover for him no matter what. It’s inane the lengths they will go to in order to keep Obama’s agenda out of the spotlight.

I am wondering when the euthanasia folks are going to start touting this one? I mean, it sure seemed to me as if the most caring, most civil, most intelligent president evah just said that healthcare could be cheaper if we don’t give old folks and the infirm the full measure of care they now get. It appeared that Obama said we should just let them die or suffer because they aren’t worth the effort. Imagine if Bush had said something like this? The left wouldn’t have hesitated to call him any manner of names. Oddly, though, the Old Media have not had so much as a raised eyebrow over his statements on Wednesday.

Obama said during the ABC Special on Wednesday night that a way to save healthcare costs is to abandon the sort of care that “evidence shows is not necessarily going to improve” the patient’s health. He went on to say that he had personal familiarity with such a situation when his grandmother broke her hip after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Obama offered a question on the efficacy of further care for his grandmother saying, “and the question was, does she get hip replacement surgery, even though she was fragile enough they were not sure how long she would last?”

But who is it that will present the “evidence” that will “show” that further care is futile? Are we to believe that Obama expects individual doctors will make that decision in his bold new government controlled healthcare future? If he is trying to make that claim it is a flat out untruth and he knows it.

Does your homebuilder negotiate with your city hall over whether you get a building permit, or does the permit get levied no matter what? Does a cop decide if you really broke the law, or does he simply arrest you and let the courts hash it out? Does your tax preparer negotiate with the IRS or is he supposed to just calculate your tax bill on their terms and have you pay the required amount?

Government does not work by negotiation. Government does not work from the bottom up. It works from the top down. This singular fact means that no doctor will be deciding if you are too old or infirm to get medical care. It will be a medically untrained bureaucrat that sets a national rule that everyone will have to obey. There won’t be any room for your grandma to have a different outcome than anyone else’s.

So, what will it be then? Who will decide when medical care is just too expensive to bother with? Who will be left to perish because they just aren’t worth the lifesaving effort? Well, for sure it won’t be any members of Congress or anyone that works for the federal government because they won’t be expected to suffer under the nationally socialized plan. It also won’t be Obama’s buddies in the unions who are about to be similarly exempted from the national plan, at least if Senator Max Baucus has his way.

Ah, but we are told that Obama’s ideas on healthcare are “evolving,” dontcha know? During the recent campaign for president (that was only 7 months ago, if you’ll recall) Obama insisted that he would never tax your healthcare benefits from work. He even ridiculed McCain for proposing such a plan. Lately, however, he’s “evolved” toward saying that such a new tax is on the table. What about his stance against fining people and businesses that don’t join his UberPlan? He was against that sort of coerciveness before. Now he’s “evolved.”

Originally, he said it was “healthcare for all,” but as of Wednesday night, it seems he’s “evolved” to say that only those worth the bother should get healthcare. The rest should be left to died and/or suffer. If he does any more “evolving” we’ll all be finding just who is “worth” what as far as he and his Democrats are concerned. Somehow I’d guess that many of you reading this today won’t quite be worth as much as certain others!

Let’s hope none of us are ever in a position to find out if Obamacare deems our grandmothers worth saving.

And what ever happened to the left’s mantra that healthcare is a “right” and that money should never enter into a life or death decision? Now The One is saying it’s just too darn expensive to save the old and infirm? Will our friends on the left now disown Obama the “murderer”?

Even worse, why has the media remained mum on the possibility that President Spock, Doctor of life, just said that old folks are too expensive to treat? Hello, CNN, NBC, New York Times… anyone?

The Ark of the Covenant and the Death of Michael Jackson – A Couple of Interesting Coincidences

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Does it seem interesting to anyone else that on the day that the “actual” Ark of the Covenant, from the ancient Jewish temple in Jerusalem, is to be unveiled, that the death of Michael Jackson promises to eclipse all other news stories? The timing is quite interesting to me.
Since the story of the Ark is “religious” in nature, specifically to Jews and Christians, the news of the unveiling would have been given low priority anyway.
Now with the death of Jackson, the Ark story will most likely be a few seconds of time, at the best.
In my opinion, there is someone who doesn’t really want the Ark story to get wide coverage. I won’t mention his name here, but he goes by the title of Satan.
Food for thought anyway.

Is the “Ark of the Covenant” Real – That is the Question

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Yesterday I posted that the patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia says he will unveil the actual Ark of the Covenant, that was reportedly removed from the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem over 2,000 years ago, and secretly relocated to Ethiopia.
I always try to keep a significant level of skepticism toward religious artifacts, but if this is the real deal, it could be hailed as the most significant Biblical find of all history. We will have to wait and see.

Ark hunters and Bible enthusiasts are buzzing about a report that the Ark of the Covenant, the ancient container that holds the Ten Commandments, is expected to be unveiled in Rome today.

As WND reported, the patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia
says he will announce to the world the unveiling of the Ark, which he says has been hidden away in a church in his country for millennia, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.

Abuna Pauolos, in Italy for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI this week, told the news agency, “Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of searches and studies for centuries.”

According to the Italian news agency, the announcement is expected to be made at 2 p.m. Italian time (8 a.m. Eastern) from the Hotel Aldrovandi in Rome. Pauolos will reportedly be accompanied by Prince Aklile Berhan Makonnen Haile Sellassie and Duke Amedeo D’Acosta.

“The Ark of the Covenant is in Ethiopia for many centuries,” said Pauolos. “As a patriarch I have seen it with my own eyes and only few highly qualified persons could do the same, until now.”

Bob Cornuke, biblical investigator, international explorer and best-selling author, has participated in more than 27 expeditions around the world searching for lost locations described in the Bible. A man some consider a real-life Indiana Jones, he has written a book titled “Relic Quest” about the Ark of the Covenant and participated in History Channel production called “Digging for Truth.”

Next week, Cornuke will travel to Ethiopia for the 13th time since he began his search for the Ark. He told WND he believes this artifact may be authentic.

“They either have the Ark of the Covenant or they have a replica that they have believed to be the Ark of the Covenant for 2,000 years,” he said.

Cornuke said, if it is genuine, there’s a plausible explanation of how the Ark may have come to the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion in Ethiopia.

“The Ark could have been taken out of the temple during the time of the atrocities of Manasseh,” he said. “We have kind of a bread crumb trail that appears to go to Egypt
, and it stayed on an island there for a couple hundred years called Elephantine Island. The Ark then was transferred over to Lake Tana in Ethiopia where it stayed on Tana Qirqos Island for 800 years. Then it was taken to Axum, where it is enshrined in a temple today where they don’t let anybody see it.”

Cornuke said he traveled to Tana Qirqos Island and lived with monks who remain there today.

“They unlocked this big, four-inch thick wood door,” he said. “It opened up to a treasure room, and they showed me meat forks and bowls and things that they say are from Solomon’s temple. When the History Channel did this show, they said it was one of the largest viewed shows. People were fascinated.”

He said Ethiopians consider the Ark to be the ultimate holy object, and the church guards the suspected artifact from the “eyes and pollution of man.”

“In Ethiopia, their whole culture is centered around worshipping this object,” Cornuke said. “Could they have the actual Ark? I think I could make a case that they actually could.”

However, he said reports about Friday’s unveiling are somewhat perplexing because Ethiopia has traditionally shielded it from public view.

“That’s the surprise for me,” Cornuke said. “I have always thought that they would keep it under wraps.”

He explained that a special guardian lives inside the church and never leaves. Once a guardian is appointed, he stays until he dies and another man replaces him.

“We know for a fact that there have been 30 guardians in history who have never left that enclosure,” Cornuke said. “I know the guardian. When CNN and BBC went over there, he wouldn’t see anybody but me. So I went and talked to him, and he’s getting very aged. He told me they have the real Ark and he worships 13 hours a day in front of it. When he gets through, he is covered in sweat and he’s exhausted.”

He said he met a 105-year-old man who claimed to have seen the Ark 50 years ago when he was training a replacement guardian.

“It frightened him to death when he got a glimpse of it.”

Cornuke said he also met with the president of Ethiopia nearly nine years ago and had a one-on-one conversation with him in his palace. He asked if Ethiopia had the Ark of the Covenant.

According to Cornuke, the president responded: “Yes, we do. I am the president, and I know. It’s not a copy. It’s the real thing.”

Cornuke said Ethiopians claim their purported Ark is kept in a large stone sarcophagus lined in ornately hammered silver. The Ark itself is made of acacia wood and laminated with a thin veneer of gold. The mercy seat sits atop the Ark and is made of pure, hammered gold and includes two cherubim facing one another.

Whether the artifact is real or simply a copy, Cornuke said unveiling might leave the world with more questions than answers.

“We have only typology to go on,” he said. “We could probably have some people analyze the wood samples and come up with some kind of dating protocol on it because it is acacia wood to see if that is it.”

Rives said a close inspection of the Ten Commandments would be necessary to ensure they are in accordance with true text and not in accordance with later versions of the Ten Commandments.

Cornuke said experts would also need to determine whether the artifact itself fits the biblical description and trace its path to Ethiopia.

“We are peeking behind the veil of history,” he said. “We’re taking a glimpse of an artifact that could be a very holy object.”

Entertainers Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson Die on the Same Day

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Two notable entertainers have passed away on the same day.

Actress and 1970’s TV series “Charlie’s Angels” star, Farrah Fawcett, lost her battle with cancer and died yesterday (June 25) at 9:28 a.m. PDT. She was 62 years old. She was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006. After surgery and Chemotherapy, the cancer went into remission. Earlier this year, it was revealed that the cancer had metastasized to her liver. She stopped receiving cancer treatments in May. An NBC documentary, “Farrah’s Story,” was made to document her battle with cancer.

Pop music icon, Michael Jackson, also died yesterday (June 25), from suspected cardiac arrest at 2:26 p.m. PDT. He was 50 years old. In a FoxNews report, Jackson is described as “all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.” With a career spanning approximately 42 years, several of Jackson’s songs earned the titled of “world’s best-selling records”.

Please join me in praying for the family and friends of these two entertainment icons.
