God Cannot Be Mocked

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:7-9 (New International Version)

Gun Control – The Facts

Monday, August 17th, 2009

There is an email making the rounds. I haven’t confirmed the figures yet, but they are in line with other articles I have read. Although the deaths of the people in those nations are not directly linked to gun control, it is a fact that a government is less likely to move against it’s own people when those people are armed.

After reading the following historical facts, read the part about Switzerland twice.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
—- ————- ————-
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control:
56 million.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own Government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:

Australia wide:

homicides are up 3.2 %.
assaults are up 8.6 %.
armed robberies are up 44 % (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it’s too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are citizens.
Without them, we are subjects.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends.

The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.

I’m a firm believer of the 2nd Amendment! If you are too, please forward.

Just think how powerful our government is getting. They think these other countries just didn’t do it right.

See my post on the subject of gun control here.

Experience a Hurricane

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Some of you might remember that my family and I experienced Hurricane Ike last year.

For those of you who have not experienced a hurricane, FoxNews has a pretty good demonstration of them here. Take a moment to look at them.

Here are the links I posted before, during and after Ike. Some have photos.

“The Babel Syndrome” by Terry James

Monday, August 17th, 2009

We are witnessing today powerful movements toward disaster, movements generated by a singular humanistic mindset. It is a luciferian mindset that is suctioning every unregenerate soul in its vortex toward total rebellion against the Creator of all things. The phenomenon, long ago prophesied for the end times, I’ve cocooned within the term “the Babel Syndrome.”

Man hasn’t changed since the original rebellion when Adam disobeyed in the Garden of Eden, bringing the Fall. Man was the same in the post-Flood time of the mighty hunter-leader, Nimrod. Moses chronicled the humanistic corporate thinking of that day:

And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. (Genesis 11:3–6).

The fallen minds of earth dwellers remain rebelliously consistent to this day, as witnessed by the incessant drive to return to banding together to kick God out of the process of governance. We can reflect on the U.S. Supreme Court decisions during and around 1963 to ban prayer and Bible reading in public schools. This action, in my view, was primary in setting America on a course of catastrophic ramifications, the fruition of which almost certainly looms just ahead.

John F. Kennedy’s election had the press corps and about half the nation giddy with the notion that we were on the edge of a “New Frontier.” That “New Frontier” was taken to mean by the woolly-minded Supreme Court of the day that we had now reached the point of erudition—of sophistication as a people—that Christian influences on America and the world were an atavistic drag on moving into modernity. The concept of the term “New Frontier” (in the justices’ mindset) was nebulous at best, and mind-anesthetizing at worst. “God has to go” was the bottom line.

With the banning of God’s influence, supposedly, went America’s youth and vitality. The “New Frontier” and any other hope for this much-blessed nation was slain as certainly as was the young president, who died in November of that fatal year on Elm Street in Dallas.

The “Great Society” was instituted, bankrupting the nation, as Lyndon Johnson declared his “War on Poverty.” Vietnam entered the picture, ultimately taking fifty thousand young American lives. The sexual revolution brought rebellious youth movements, hippies, addictions to illicit drugs, defections to Canada. Martin Luther King was murdered in Memphis, engendering tremendous racial strife and rioting. Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in L.A., and the nation was ripped and divided—and remains so to this day, with the schism widening daily.

Roe v. Wade was made law by an upside-down-minded Supreme Court—violating constitutional separation of powers and bringing about infanticide (fifty million babies aborted to this point) that will yet bring God’s wrath and judgment beyond anything imaginable. And imagination of mankind is at the heart of “the Babel Syndrome,” as I’ve coined it. It is the reprobate imagination of today’s self-appointed elitist leaders, their collective mindset fueled by sin, whose intentions it is in every discipline and aspect of human endeavor to bring the world together as one. These would accept “We are the World” as the global anthem.

God himself said of that post-antediluvian people under Nimrod: “…and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do…”

Man would have been able to build that tower to reach into the heavens, God said. They would have made Babel their center of luciferian confusion, to take mankind’s hearts and minds far from the Creator. The devil is the author of confusion. The globalist elitists of today are observably leading God’s creature called man back to Babel. They have circumvented through language-translation computer technologies the barriers God purposely interjected into the affairs of man, thus to defeat Satan’s attempt to usurp God’s throne in the earthly sense.

Today’s humanists elite continuously look for ways, even if unwittingly, to assist Lucifer in playing God. They seem to want to recreate themselves, booting God out of the entire arena of human activity. Their efforts, although ostensibly offered as intended for eradicating human frailties and problems, put humankind on the very precipice of God’s holy judgment. Remember, the Lord said that what man can imagine, he can eventually accomplish. He will not allow rebellion to run its course (read Psalms 2).

The following excerpt paints the picture of this modern-day attempt to wrest control from the hand of God. The writer of the article first says there are only a handful of scientific revolutions that would really change the world. An immortality pill, a time machine, and faster-than-light travel that would allow the stars to be explored in a human lifetime would be on a short list of such change agents. He went on to write:

To my mind, however, the creation of an artificial mind would probably trump all of these—a development that would throw up an array of bewildering and complex moral and philosophical quandaries. Amazingly, it might also be within reach. For while time machines, eternal life potions and Star Trek-style warp drives are as far away as ever, a team of scientists in Switzerland is claiming that a fully-functioning replica of a human brain could be built by 2020.

This isn’t just pie-in-the-sky. The Blue Brain project, led by computer genius Henry Markram—who is also the director of the Centre for Neuroscience & Technology and the Brain Mind Institute—has for the past five years been engineering the mammalian brain, the most complex object known in the Universe, using some of the most powerful supercomputers in the world.

And last month, Professor Markram claimed, at a conference in Oxford, that he plans to build an electronic human brain “within ten years.”

If he is right, nothing will be the same again…

Yet, if the Blue Brain project succeeds, in a few decades—perhaps sooner—we will be looking at the creation of a new intelligent life form on earth. And the ethical dilemmas we face when it comes to experimenting on animals in the name of science will pale into insignificance when faced with the potential torments of our new machine mind. (Michael Hanlon, “Are we on the brink of creating a computer with a human brain?” sciencetech, Rapture Ready News, 8/12/09)

“The Babel Syndrome” afflicts everyone alive on the planet today. We see it in daily headlines, with the movement toward one world government, one world economy, one world religion, and on a myriad of other fronts. It’s perhaps only a matter of a short time until a satanically inspired, Nimrod-like leader imagines to complete the tower—in type, at least—like the attempted construction of that edifice of antiquity. The results will be the same. God will intervene with judgment. This time, however, the changes brought forth on planet earth will be God’s change, not the decimating changes wrought by fallen mankind.

Canada Considering Healthcare Overhaul With Private Insurance

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Oh this is just rich!! While our government is doing their best to mess up our heath care, the Canadians, who have already tried the “public option”, are now basically admitting it was a failure and intend to reform their health care by adding private insurance.

As President Obama and his Democrat-controlled Congress try to force healthcare reform on an American population largely pleased with the current system, our neighbors to the north are actually considering improving their structure by — wait for it!!! — welcoming additional competition from private insurers.

I kid you not.

Within hours of the Obama administration saying that it might consider a reform package without a government option, the Associated Press inconveniently reported the following:

The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says this country’s health-care system is sick and doctors need to develop a plan to cure it.

Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care and she adds that physicians from across the country – who will gather in Saskatoon on Sunday for their annual meeting – recognize that changes must be made.

“We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize,” Doing said in an interview with The Canadian Press. […]

[Dr. Robert Ouellet, the current president of the CMA] has been saying since his return that “a health-care revolution has passed us by,” that it’s possible to make wait lists disappear while maintaining universal coverage and “that competition should be welcomed, not feared.”

In other words, Ouellet believes there could be a role for private health-care delivery within the public system.

Oh my! Canada’s government-run healthcare system is in a state of disarray, so much so that they’re considering increasing competition by allowing folks to buy private insurance.

That’ll surely help Obama’s cause!

But here’s the money quote:

“(Canadians) have to understand that the system that we have right now – if it keeps on going without change – is not sustainable,” said Doig.

“They have to look at the evidence that’s being presented and will be presented at (the meeting) and realize what Canada’s doctors are trying to tell you, that you can get better care than what you’re getting and we all have to participate in the discussion around how do we do that and of course how do we pay for it.”

It’s going to be absolutely delicious to see how this gets reported by Obama-loving media in the next 24 hours.

Stay tuned.

“Big Brother-Care Looms Large” By J. Matt Barber

Monday, August 17th, 2009

It’s socialized medicine vs. the private sector. How does the former match-up to the latter? Well, by way of an ill-advised postal services analogy, our inspired physician-in-chief has gaffed upon the answer: “UPS and FedEx are doing just fine,” he observed, “It’s the post office that’s always having problems.”

Priceless – From the mouths of libs…

Speaking of “Federal Express:” Was there ever any doubt as to why the left’s government takeover of healthcare absolutely, positively had to be there overnight? Dr. Obama, Nurse Nancy and the rest of the congressional candy-stripers recognized that if Americans had a chance to actually vet this medical monstrosity, they’d rise-up against it.

Oops. We have and we have.

But despite a nose-dive in support, the Democratic Party’s ObamaCare Kamikazes refuse to pull-up. Instead, they’re unloading both barrels, hell-bent on sinking the U.S.S Free Market and taking our liberties, quality of care and American exceptionalism down with it.

Pelosi has disgracefully implied that town-hall goers who question this radical experiment in socialized medicine are Nazis. And in an August 10 USA Today op-ed, she and Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) shamelessly labeled those same heartland patriots – many of whom are senior citizens – as “un-American.”

But what is “un-American” is this socialist piece of Euro-trash being peddled as “healthcare reform.” This is not the “hope and change” America envisioned while punching Obama’s chad last November. He and liberals in Congress have betrayed their nation’s trust.

At nearly 1,100 pages, even the President admits he hasn’t read H.R. 3200 – the House version of the bill – and supporters like Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) have ridiculed the very idea that anyone would.

Well, some of us are reading it – silly as we may be.

Liberty Counsel’s Washington D.C. staff ( has compiled a comprehensive bullet-point summary of the bill. It’s gone viral and Americans are arming themselves with the information it provides. They’re taking it to town-hall meetings around the country and are respectfully, but firmly holding their Representatives’ feet to the fire.

“What Americans Need to Know About the Healthcare Takeover” provides a link to both an overview of H.R. 3200 and the full text of the bill so that people can verify for themselves the overview’s accuracy. This is democracy in action and it’s making the Left mouth-foaming furious.

ObamaCare is fatally flawed on numerous levels, but, for now, let’s focus on just a few:

First, despite ludicrous denials by both an increasingly partisan AARP and a “snitch on your comrade” White House, pages 424, 425 and 426 of the plan do, in fact, mandate compulsory government “end-of-life” consultations for seniors who have “not had such a consultation within the last 5 years.”

According to the bill, these consultations “shall include…an explanation by the practitioner of the continuum of end-of-life services and supports available, including palliative care and hospice.” (Or, as President Kevorkian put it, instruct you that: “Maybe you’re better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller.”)

Again, these are mandatory consultations. The word “shall” is a legal term of art that means – for lack of a better word – “shall.” Notwithstanding White House and AARP claims to the contrary, “shall” does not mean “may,” “can” or “have the option to.”

So, in the interest of candor and for the sake of clarity, let’s call ObamaCare’s mandatory “end-of-life counseling” what it truly is: “End-your-life” counseling. Better yet, let’s call it the “Useless-Eaters-Get-Out-of-the-Way-and-Just-Die-Already” provision.

Next, we have Sec. 163, pages 58 – 60 which – whether you like it or not – grants federal bureaucrats full access to both your private medical records and personal bank account for automatic fund withdrawals.

Here’s how it works: In order to “standardize electronic administrative transactions,” the government issues you a handy-dandy “machine-readable health plan beneficiary identification card” to “enable electronic funds transfers” from your private bank account.

But lest you worry about having to deal with any of those pesky “choices” or confusing “decisions,” Uncle Sam promises to “be authoritative, permitting no additions or constraints for electronic transactions.”

Got that? Our “authoritative” federal government will not permit you to place any “constraints” on its access to your bank account. (Yea! Big Brother’s got your back! How could anyone be opposed this kind of government coddling? One question, though: Will Uncle Sam pick-up our NSF fees?)

And then there’s the “Health Benefits Advisory Committee.” This lovely government appointed panel of bureaucrats is to consist of “medical and other experts” who get to “recommend covered benefits.”

Other experts? What in the Rahm Emanuel is that supposed to mean?

Grandma neither wants – nor can she survive – a liberal Democrat appointed, “one size fits all” panel of distinguished experts in the field of “other” deciding what medical services she will or will not be allowed to receive. We’re not numbers on a page, Mr. President. We’re people.

But this brings us back to the aforementioned threat of “standardization.” As with every socialist nation that has adopted its own version of ObamaCare, standardized, universal healthcare, is – and always will be – an abysmal “healthcare rationing” failure. It’s no longer you and your doctor deciding what’s best for you and your family; it’s Big Brother.

Keep in mind; we’ve only covered three provisions, here. H.R. 3200 is nearly 1,100 pages of wonderfully ambiguous little nuggets just like these, which grant the government unlimited loopholes to do whatever it pleases with your life and well-being.

Where’s my America?

Ronald Reagan on National Healthcare

Monday, August 17th, 2009

“One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. . . . Now, the American people, if you put it to them about socialized medicine and gave them a chance to choose, would unhesitatingly vote against it.”
– Ronald Reagan, 1961

TX Congresswoman Accused of ‘Elitism’

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Sheila Jackson Lee didn’t get the moniker of “Queen Sheila” for no reason. She tries to impose that impression on everyone, every day.

Thousands of Americans have been viewing a video circulating on the Internet showing Democratic Texas Representative Sheila Jackson Lee taking a phone call during a Houston town hall meeting while a cancer survivor was attempting to ask her a question.

In the video, the questioner is interrupted by others at the meeting, telling her the congresswoman is “not even listening” to her. Jackson Lee is then heard reassuring the questioner that “I’m here” — but continues talking on her cell phone.

The congresswoman claims she was calling a White House help line to get answers to her constituents’ questions.

“I think if that’s what she was doing — I think I heard the word ‘dude’ being screamed into her phone — and not only did she take it away from her ear, but put it up to her mouth in order to speak rather loudly into her cell phone,” [Cathie Adams, president of Texas Eagle Forum] points out.

“So I think what we were looking at…is a member of the ruling elite dealing with the working class. This is not the American way,” she remarks. “That is socialism, and no thank you.”
