Soldier Goes On Shooting Rampage At Fort Hood, TX, 11 Killed, 31 Wounded

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

It looks like a case of a homegrown Muslim terrorist attacking his fellow soldiers. This is a typical symptom of Islam; random terrorist violence against innocent people, because to a Muslim, all “infidels” are valid targets.

A military doctor who feared an impending war deployment is believed to be the gunman behind a shooting rampage Thursday afternoon at the Army’s Fort Hood in Texas that killed 12 and wounded 31 before the gunman was shot multiple times.

Three soldiers were taken into custoy as possible suspects, Lt. Gen. Bob Cone told reporters Thursday evening, though two were later released.

Cone identified the lone gunman as Major Malik Nadal Hasan, a psychiatrist who reportedly didn’t believe in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and wanted out of the military before he was set to be deployed overseas.

Hasan was in stable condition condition at a local hospital Thursday night, Cone said after previously reporting that he was killed at the scene.

A female first responder who shot at Hasan who was also previously thought to be dead, was also alive.

Federal law enforcement officials say Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats.

The officials say they are still trying to confirm that he was the author.

One of the Web postings that authorities reviewed is a blog that equates homicide bombers with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades.

“To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause,” said the Internet posting. “Scholars have paralled (sic) this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers.”

They say an official investigation was not opened.

Hasan was working with soldiers at Darnall Army Medical Center on Fort Hood after being transfered in July from Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he had worked for six years before recently receiving a poor review.

A former neighbor of Hasan’s in Silver Spring, Md. told Fox News he lived there for two years with his brother and had the word “Allah” on the door.

She said the FBI interviewed her this afternoon, adding she used to see a woman and a 3-year-old girl coming and going.

Cone said the shooter used two guns, including a semi-automatic weapon. He added there was no indication they were military weapons.

The shooting took place 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the post’s Soldier Readiness Center, where soldiers undergo medical screening before being deployed or after returning from overseas.

“We have a terrible, tragic situation here,” said Cone. “Soldiers, family members and the civilians that work here are absolutely devastated.”

Cone said the injuries “vary significantly” among the victims wounded in the shooting. The victims include one civilian police officer.

The shooter’s cousin, Nader Hasan, told Fox News that their family is in shock.

“We are trying to make sense of all this,” Nader Hasan said. “He wasn’t even someone who enjoyed going to the firing range.”

He said his cousin, who was born and raised in Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech University, turned against the wars after hearing the stories of those who came back from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Nader Hasan said his cousin, who was raised a Muslim, wanted to go into the military against his parent’s wishes — but was taunted by others after the terror attacks of Sept. 11.

He now is believed to have been behind the worst mass shooting at a U.S. military base in history.

Noor Faleh Almeleki

Update at Bottom.

Thursday, November 5, 2009

A young Iraqi woman whose father allegedly hit her with his car because she had become too Westernized died from her injuries Monday after lying in a coma for nearly two weeks.

Noor Faleh Almaleki, 20, underwent spinal surgery and had been in a hospital since Oct. 20, when police say her father ran down her and her boyfriend’s mother with his Jeep as the women were walking across a parking lot in the west Phoenix suburb of Peoria.

The other woman, Amal Khalaf, is expected to survive.

Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, fled after the attack but was arrested Thursday when he arrived at Atlanta’s airport, where he was sent from the United Kingdom after authorities denied him entrance.

Peoria police interviewed him and brought him back to Arizona over the weekend, but have declined to release what Almaleki said to them.

At a court hearing over the weekend in Phoenix, county prosecutor Stephanie Low told a judge that Almaleki admitted to committing the crime.

“By his own admission, this was an intentional act and the reason was that his daughter had brought shame on him and his family,” Low said. “This was an attempt at an honor killing.”

Family members had told police that Almaleki attacked his daughter because he believed she had become too Westernized and was not living according to his traditional Iraqi values.

Update:

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Justice has been served in the ‘honor killing’ of a young Iraqi immigrant woman, Noor Faleh Almaleki, who was run down by her father for being “too Western”.

A jury convicted an Iraqi immigrant of second-degree murder Tuesday for running over and killing his daughter in a case prosecutors called an `honor killing.’

Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 50, also was convicted of aggravated assault for injuries suffered by the mother of his daughter’s boyfriend during the October 2009 incident in a suburban Phoenix parking lot.

House Health Care Vote Set for Saturday, November 7, 2009

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

If you have not contacted your representative, your time is running out. Please contact them right away about your opposition to massive health care “mistake”.

With health care reform tracking toward a possible vote in the House Saturday, Republicans are making a last-ditch bid to derail or at least delay the legislation by bringing public pressure to the steps of Congress.

The GOP is organizing a “House Call” Thursday afternoon on Capitol Hill, where they plan to rally constituents concerned about the implications of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s bill. Republicans are calling on those who attend to corner, politely, their elected representatives in Congress and put pressure on them to think twice about voting for the more than $1 trillion health care overhaul.

Republicans are looking to reprise the kind of grassroots resistance that boiled up during the August recess at town hall meetings across the country. That resistance seemed to temper Democrats’ ambitions for health care reform and just about dash any hope for passing a government-run insurance plan as part of the package — but just a few months later, both the House and Senate have included so-called public options in their bills.

“It seems like the lessons of the town halls and the tea parties are lost on these people,” Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., told Fox News. “So we need to bring the town hall here … and plead for real freedom-loving Americans to come to the steps of the U.S. Capitol.”

The conservative “tea party” movement has gotten involved with the rally, which is expected to feature speakers as well as the formal unveiling of the Republican version of health care reform.

Bachmann said she hatched this idea as a way to “really kill this bill.”

“Republicans are in the minority, but a minority in Congress plus the American people equals the majority,” Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., told Fox News Thursday.

It’s unclear how much of an impact the “House Call” can have so late in the process. Pelosi needs to unify Democrats around the package but does not need Republican support given the Democratic majority in the House.

“There Is No Honor; There’s Only Killing” by Debra J. Saunders

Noor Faleh Almeleki

We have posted often about the “honor killing” of Noor Almaleki, a young Muslim woman, living in Arizona, who was killed because her father found her to be to “Westernized”.

See our post here:
Another Muslim “Honor Killing”; Arizona Woman Run Down by Father, Dies.
Arizona Muslim Who Ran Down Daughter In Attempted ‘Honor Killing’ Arrested.
Arizona Muslim Ran Down Daughter In Attempted ‘Honor Killing’ For Becoming ‘Westernized’.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations sent out its usual roundup Tuesday of news stories alleging the mistreatment of Muslims in America. There was a story critical of the FBI harassment of Muslims in Queens, N.Y., in the wake of the arrest of a suspected terrorist. Another story concerned calls for an investigation into an FBI shooting that left Detroit Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah dead. There were also notices of CAIR banquets.

There was no story about Noor Faleh Almaleki. Her father, Faleh Hassan Almaleki, has been arrested for running down his 20-year-old daughter, as well as the mother of her live-in boyfriend, on Oct. 20 in an Arizona parking lot with his 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. On Monday, Noor Almaleki died, in what is considered the latest “honor killing” in America.

According to news reports, the father, who moved his family from Iraq in the mid-1990s, was angry because his daughter had become “too Westernized.” Before Noor Almaleki died, a local prosecutor described the crime as “an attempted honor killing.”

After the incident, Faleh Almaleki fled across the border to Mexico, then London. He was extradited and charged with two counts of aggravated assault on Saturday. The judge then assigned him an attorney. He has yet to enter a plea on the charges, which are likely to be upgraded to include murder or manslaughter.

Before the 20-year-old died, prosecutor Stephanie Low told a Maricopa County court that, “By his own admission, this was an intentional act and the reason was that his daughter had brought shame upon him and his family.” So where is CAIR, which bills itself as “America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization?” Spokesman Ibrahim Hooper told me, “We tend to deal with things that are related to Islam and the Muslim community.”

Hooper added that CAIR does not “believe there’s any so-called honor in an honor killing. These things occur. They’re completely against Islamic beliefs. There’s no justification.” And: “Horrible things happen all over the world. Domestic abuse among families goes along religious lines,” based on false justifications.

In short, CAIR will make a stink when (male) imams are not allowed to board a Minneapolis plane, but don’t expect the organization to make an issue of honor killings.

ELEMENTARY EPIDEMIC: 11 Uncovered Videos Show School Children Performing Praises to Obama

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Here are videos of liberal educator Obamabots indoctrinating our children as captive audiences in schools.

Big Hollywood has already posted a couple disturbing videos of young school children singing/speaking praises to President Obama, but when eleven more dropped in our email box it came as quite a shock. What seemed like an aberration now appears to be a troubling pattern.

Maybe “epidemic” is a better word.

Each one of the videos below is creepier than the last because the further down you go, the younger the children — brace yourself for kindergartners – except for the last and most disturbing video, which you have to see to believe.

Young captive minds, easily influenced, eager for direction, enlisted into a cult of personality focused on an individual who, other than being the first black president, has yet to accomplish anything of significance.

But Obama’s skin color has nothing to do with this. Does anyone interested in retaining their merit badge for intellectual honesty really want to argue that Condi Rice or J.C. Watts would’ve spawned a dozen-and-counting tribute videos?

This is about brainwashing our children into Leftist identity politics. Sure, the schools can argue that they had some kind of parental permission — which, if true, is somehow even more disturbing — but who even considers doing something like this with young minds? That’s a rhetorical question.

There was some guesswork, but to the best of our ability the videos run from oldest to youngest, starting with high schoolers. We list the name of the school and the date the video was posted. From there, if it could be found (or a confident guess made), you’ll find the schools’ website, followed by the original title given to the video and any notes added by whoever uploaded to YouTube.

Each video has also been transcribed so you can follow the bouncing ball…

Election Results Have Deeper Meaning

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

A conservative activist and former presidential candidate says Tuesday night’s election results show that many of last year’s Barack Obama supporters have experienced “buyer’s remorse.”

Despite the fact that President Obama campaigned hard for Democrat gubernatorial candidates in both Virginia and New Jersey, the GOP emerged victorious as Bob McDonnell and Chris Christie will be taking the reigns of power in their respective state capitols.

“One year ago, the president swept into office in a very impressive victory. On Inauguration Day in January, his approval rating was 78 percent,” reports [Gary Bauer, chairman of American Values]. “Today his approval rating is down [to] just a little above 50 percent. Almost every one of his policies are not getting majority support anymore.”

Indiana Congressman Mike Pence Comments About the Democrate “Health Care” Legislation

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Hat tip: Jeff Schreiber at America’s Right.

“We set up a reading room yesterday on Capitol Hill. Lots of members came in and were swapping notes reading it. The facts of this are just extraordinary: 1,990 pages; $1.2 trillion in new federal spending; $729.5 billion in new taxes, all of which is to support or provide for all of these entitlement programs created or expanded and the 111 additional offices, commissions, bureaus, programs and bureaucracies which are included in the legislation. And the mandates in this language — the use of the word “shall,” which is mandatory language, appears in the law 3,425 times. And yet Democrats say this isn’t a government takeover of health care?”

Big Victory for Traditional Marriage in Maine

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Another victory for traditional marriage over the homosexual agenda and the liberal courts.

PORTLAND, Maine- Voters in Maine have rejected an effort by lawmakers there to impose homosexual “marriage” in that state.

Gay marriage has now lost in every single state — 31 in all — in which it has been put to a popular vote. Gay-rights activists had hoped to buck that trend in Maine — known for its liberal-minded electorate — and mounted an energetic, well-financed campaign. With 87 percent of the precincts reporting, proponents of traditional marriage had 53 percent of the votes.

The outcome Tuesday marked the first time voters had rejected a gay-marriage law enacted by a legislature. When Californians put a stop to same-sex marriage a year ago, it was in response to a court ruling, not legislation.

Further to this, Fox News reports:

SAN FRANCISCO – Stunned and angry, national gay rights leaders Wednesday blamed scare-mongering ads — and President Barack Obama’s lack of engagement — for a bitter election setback in Maine that could alter the dynamics for both sides in the gay-marriage debate.

Conservatives, in contrast, celebrated Maine voters’ rejection of a law that would have allowed gay couples to wed, depicting it as a warning shot that should deter politicians in other states from pushing for same-sex marriage.

“Every time the citizens have voted on marriage, they have always sided with natural marriage,” said Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, a Florida-based Christian legal group. “Maine dramatically illustrates the will of the people, and politicians should wake up and listen.”

Gay activists were frustrated that Obama, who insists he staunchly supports their overall civil rights agenda, didn’t speak out forcefully in defense of Maine’s marriage law before Tuesday’s referendum. The law was repealed in a vote of 53 percent to 47 percent.

“President Obama missed an opportunity to state his position against these discriminatory attacks with the clarity and moral imperative that would have helped in this close fight,” said Evan Wolfson of the national advocacy group Freedom to Marry. “The anti-gay forces are throwing millions of dollars into various unsubtle ads aimed at scaring people, so subtle statements from the White House are not enough.”

The White House, asked about the criticism, had no immediate comment.

The marriage debate is simmering in at least a half-dozen states where a same-sex marriage bill is pending or where a court ruling or existing law is being eyed by conservatives for possible challenge.

Had Maine’s law been upheld by voters, it would have become the sixth state to legalize gay marriage — and the first to affirm it by popular vote. In Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Iowa, gay marriage resulted from court decisions or legislation.

California is sure to be a major battleground over the next several years. Last year, conservatives succeeded in winning public approval of Proposition 8, which overturned a state court ruling allowing gay marriage. Gay rights groups want to take the issue back to the voters but are divided on a timetable.

Democrats’ Plan to Help ‘Uninsurables’ Requires 6-Month Wait

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Well here we go…
It’s almost embarrassing how often I and other conservatives have been right about the Democrats’ nonsensical policies and outright lying to the public. How do these clowns even take themselves seriously?

WASHINGTON – You’re afraid your cancer is back, and a health insurance company just turned you down.

Under the health care bills in Congress, you could apply for coverage through a new high-risk pool that President Barack Obama promises would immediately start serving patients with pre-existing medical problems.

Wait a second. Read the fine print. You may have to be uninsured for six months to qualify.

“If you are a cancer patient and have cancer now, you can’t wait six months to go into a plan because your condition can go from bad to death,” said Stephen Finan, a policy expert with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. He called the waiting period in the Senate bill “unacceptable.”

Advocates for people with serious health problems, as well as some insurance experts, are raising questions about one of the most important upfront benefits in the Democratic health care legislation: a high-risk pool for the medically uninsurable.

Obama proposed the pool in his September health care speech to Congress. Intended to serve the most vulnerable as a temporary fail-safe, it would stay in place until 2013. That’s when insurance companies would be banned from denying coverage because of medical problems.

Government subsidies to make coverage more affordable for millions of uninsured would also start that year.

Now, concerns are being raised about the design of the high-risk pools. In addition to the six-month wait, there’s a more fundamental issue — whether $5 billion set aside for the three-year program is enough. The money would be used to help people in poor health pay premiums.

Obama credits his Republican presidential rival, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, for the risk-pools idea. But when the GOP candidate proposed it in 2008, the estimated cost was $7 billion to $10 billion a year.

The six-month wait is in the health care bill the Senate Finance Committee approved last month. To qualify for the pool, patients must be turned down for coverage because of a pre-existing condition and uninsured for at least six months.

“If you are somebody with cancer or a heart condition who needs immediate coverage and immediate treatment, that’s not very helpful,” said Karen Pollitz, a Georgetown University health policy professor.

Senate Finance staffers say the restriction is meant to prevent people switching from more expensive coverage to take advantage of government assistance.

But the House health care bill unveiled last week by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., doesn’t include a waiting period. Instead, it would require insurance plans who “dump” seriously ill patients to repay the federal pool. “The House provision will provide immediate relief for people with high-risk conditions who have no alternative for coverage,” said Finan.

It may be easier to fix the waiting period than the financing.
