“The Gaza Flotilla and Bible Prophecy” by Michael G. Mickey

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

A future battle commonly referred to as the battle of Gog-Magog is foretold in Ezekiel 38-39. As I have anticipated and openly predicted for years, the nation of Turkey is steadily progressing toward becoming a participant in that future event which will see a Russian-Arab confederacy attack the nation of Israel in a perceived time of safety.

The nations most believe will be participants in the future Gog-Magog attack are as follows, all of them taken from Ezekiel’s prophecy:

* Magog – Most agree this is a reference to Russia.
* Meshech – Most associate this with modern day Turkey, ancient Anatolia, but some say it refers to the Moscow area.
* Tubal – Most associate this with modern day Turkey, ancient Anatolia.
* Persia – modern Iran
* Ethiopia
* Libya
* Gomer – eastern Europe or Turkey
* Togarmah – southeastern Europe or Turkey

Having demonstrated Turkey’s future role as an active participant in the battle of Gog-Magog described in Ezekiel 38-39, let’s turn our attention to an event that is potentially pivotal to Turkey’s future alignment with the list above – the Gaza flotilla incident presently a top story in global news.

A May 31, 2010 Associated Press article explained the incident as follows, in part:

Israeli commandos rappelled down to an aid flotilla sailing to thwart a Gaza blockade on Monday, clashing with pro-Palestinian activists on the lead ship in a botched raid that left at least nine passengers dead.

Before we proceed any further, it’s important that everyone grasps that this flotilla was looking for a confrontation with Israeli Defense Forces at the time the raid described above occurred and, immediately upon getting an opportunity to do so, took full advantage of it as video of the incident highlights.

Immediately upon their descent from helicopter, Israeli commandos were beaten with metal rods and chairs by a mob of “activists”, up to 50 of whom we’re now learning may have connections with global jihad-affiliated groups. Not only that, at least one IDF commando was thrown from one deck of the boarded ship to another, certainly a use of deadly force on the part of the passengers of the boarded vessel. It isn’t difficult to see how things quickly got out of hand, but setting the specifics of the flotilla and the raid on it aside for now, I want to get to the meat of this commentary, specifically how this incident is driving a wedge between Turkey and Israel, bringing Turkey closer to its Gog-Magog future than ever before.

Shortly after the incident occurred, Turkey, leading international condemnation of Israel, withdrew its ambassador to Israel and referred to the incident as “state terrorism”.
Inside Turkey, as news of the flotilla raid made its way to the Turkish public, the Turkish citizenry’s anti-Semitic sentiments spilled over, reportedly turning into rioting in some areas, prompting Israel’s Counterterrorism Bureau to issue a statement warning Israelis against travel to Turkey.

The Los Angeles Times noted that the Israeli raid had dealt a blow to Israel’s ties with Turkey, acknowledging what has been being documented here for some time now, a noteworthy cool down in Israel-Turkey relations. The Times opened its article as follows:

Longtime ally Turkey recalls its ambassador and calls off joint military exercises as Turks protest the aid flotilla raid. Ties had been deteriorating since the Gaza assault in 2008-09.

Of greater significance as we consider where Turkey is headed in the prophetic future, away from its pro-Western military alignment to its future partnership with Russia and Iran, is the language and tone of statements which have been made by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan in the wake of the raid. Having referred to the raid as “state terror”, “piracy”, and a “massacre”, Erdogan has come perilously close to suggesting the two nations are on a war footing, warning Israel “not to test Turkey’s patience.”

Adding to already high tensions between Turkey and Israel, concerns are growing that a future flotilla to Gaza may be accompanied by Turkish warships, Ankara having played a prominent role in the first flotilla’s journey to the region to test Israel’s resolve where its blockade of Gaza is concerned – a blockade which is necessary, I might add, because anti-Israel forces the world over are relentlessly trying to arm Israel’s enemies in Gaza.

In conclusion, the Christian Science Monitor has quoted writer Sami Kohen, a veteran Turkish political analyst and columnist, as saying the following of interest in light of where bible prophecy tells us Turkey is headed in the prophetic future:

“Turkey now is one of the sides in the Middle East conflict. It is quite clearly opposed to Israel. This event is almost a climax in this shift.”

With all due respect to Mr. Kohen, this is only a climax in Turkey’s growing hostility to Israel thus far. The prophet Ezekiel tells us armed conflict between Turkey and Israel is ultimately going to occur.

Gog-Magog is on the prophetic horizon.

Can you see it?

As the world continues to demonize Israel for her role in defending her citizens in the Gaza flotilla debacle, livid Jewish demonstrators pushed back against the onslaught of invectives being hurled at the Jewish state in a rally that was staged on Tuesday evening, June 1st in front of the Turkish Consulate on E 46th Street and 1st Avenue, outside of the United Nations. Organized by the organization called RAJE, the Russian American Jewish Experience, over 300 rally attendees took to the streets in defense of Israel. Holding aloft such signs that read “Israel: We Stand With You”, “Gaza Peace Activists Don’t Use Clubs or Knives” and “Peace Activists Should Not Support Hamas”, the demonstrators held both Israeli and American flags and called for an end to Hamas terrorism.

Dovid Ha’Ivri of the Shromron Liaison office and a resident of the Israeli settlement of Tapuach said, “Any country in the world has a right to defend themselves and Israel is no different. Clearly, this purportedly “Free Gaza” flotilla was filled with Hamas supporters who refused to cooperate with the Israeli military. They had their own nefarious agenda and it’s just too bad that the lives of our commandos were put in jeopardy. Orders should have been given that the Mavi Marmara be sunk. Israel has nothing to apologize to the world for and certainly Turkey has no right to pass judgment on Israel after the Holocaust that they inflicted on the Armenian population.”

Just several blocks away in front of the Israeli Consulate, several thousand pro-Palestinian and pro-Hamas apologists gathered for their own raucous demonstration in which they spewed forth their own inimitable brand of vitriol against Israel. “The Israelis are murderers and pirates and they should be tried for war crimes and genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza” said Ahmed Wahad of the organization Al-Awda. Insisting that the mission of the flotilla activists was purely a humanitarian one, he denied allegations that the people on the Mavi Marmara brutally assaulted Israeli commandos as they descended on to the ship. “Look, the people in Gaza are suffering due to the inhumane Israeli blockade of food, medicine and other essential supplies and these people on the boat were victimized by the savage Israeli occupiers”, he continued.

Members of the anti-Israel contingent began marching down East 42nd Street towards Times Square shouting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” and “No more US tax dollars for Israel” as they called for the end of the ‘occupation’ of Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine.

Video evidence of the incident reveals quite clearly that the Israeli commandos came aboard the boat peacefully, without the intention to inflict harm, when they were set upon by passengers wielding metal pipes, clubs, and knives. Several pistols were stolen from the commandos and shots were fired as one commando was thrown overboard into a side boat.

“It’s really pretty simple. At one time such terrorist groups as Hamas and Hezbollah believed that the best way to destroy Israel was to murder our citizens either through conventional warfare and through suicidal terrorist attacks. They woke up and came to the conclusion that such actions only garner sympathy for Israel. Now, they are keenly cognizant of the fact that the war they are fighting is through the media and world opinion, so the best way to destroy us is to force us into a position to kill them”, said Meir Epstein, 52, of Monsey, NY who traveled down to attend the pro-Israel rally.

Across the street from the Turkish consulate stood Turkish nationals and members of the vehemently anti-Israel Neturei Karta movement who continued to berate Israel while leveling epithets laced with hatred at members of the pro-Israel contingent. “Murderers, occupiers and pirates” they shouted while calling for the annihilation of Israel. “Israel should not exist because it is a racist state and we oppose the Jewish character of the state. Why should the Jews have their own country, when the land that they live on was stolen from the Palestinians. A country composed of Jews cannot be a true democracy”, said Fagria Behar, a Turkish national.

The defiant pro-Israel faction continued to shout, “Am Yisroel Chai”, (the people of Israel live) and “We have the right to self-defense” while police kept both sides separated behind barricades. “The fact that the UN saw fit to hold an emergency security council session to condemn Israel is nothing new”, said Ronn Torrosian, a renowned New York publicist and a board member of RAJE. “It is cesspool of Jew hatred and what these so called peace activists on the Turkish vessel pulled off was nothing short of a cleverly devised anti-Semitic lynching” he added.

What best summed up the collective thoughts of the pro-Israel rally goers was a sign featuring an Israeli flag and the words under it: “It’s better to have a Jewish State that’s hated by the whole world than an Auschwitz that’s loved by it.”

Conn. Town Can’t Hold Graduations in Church, Judge Rules

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Yet another idiotic act based on the imaginary “separation of church and state”. This is a true case of cutting off ones’ nose to spite ones’ face.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn.– A federal judge has ruled two Connecticut public high schools can’t hold their graduations inside a church because that would be an unconstitutional endorsement of religion.

U.S. District Court Judge Janet Hall made the ruling Monday in the case of Enfield High School and Enrico Fermi High School, both in Enfield.

The Enfield school board says it voted to hold services June 23 and 24 at The First Cathedral in Bloomfield because it had enough space at the right price. But two students and three of their parents sued.

The judge says Enfield had unconstitutionally entangled itself with religion by agreeing to cover much of the church’s religious imagery. She also says the town coerced the plaintiffs to support religion by forcing them to enter the church for graduation.

Illegal Immigrants Crime Spree in Washington State

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Yet another reason why we should secure our borders and deport illegal aliens.

One woman is dead and two others were raped recently and police say each crime was committed by a different illegal immigrant. One of the sexual assaults happened just hours before the Seattle city council passed an ordinance boycotting Arizona over its new immigration law.

Gregorio Luna Luna had a history of beating up his live-in girlfriend Griselda Ocampo Meza. He was also in the U.S. illegally. On May 1, Luna Luna was deported to Mexico. Three weeks later Meza was murdered in her apartment in a violent knife attack.

Franklin County prosecutors say Luna Luna slipped past the border again and killed Meza in front of their five year old son. He’s in the county jail awaiting trial.

A suspected rapist in Edmonds, Washington has been deported at least 4 times according to Snohomish County prosecutors. Jose Lopez Madrigal has been charged with raping a woman next to a dumpster behind a Safeway store. A witness to the attack alerted police and Madrigal was taken into custody.

An illegal immigrant just convicted of his possible 3rd strike in Whatcom county- a rape of a homeless woman- has been deported to Mexico five times.

Washington State ranks 11th in the nation in the number of illegal immigrants with an estimated 150,000. They make up 2% of the state’s population, but account for 4.5% of those in Washington prisons. In Franklin county, 14% of the jail bookings are illegal immigrants.

Currently, over half of the individuals on the Washington State Patrol’s Most Wanted List are suspected illegal immigrants. 18 of the 26 on the list are Hispanic with no place of birth identified. Most are wanted for vehicular homicide and they have languished on the Most Wanted list for several years.

There are about 50,000 felony warrants currently issued in Washington State and according to a source in the U.S. Marshall’s office between 30-40 percent are believed to be illegal immigrants.

We asked the State Patrol about the immigration status of the most wanted suspects and they told us they didn’t know. Officials say that information is not important in trying to locate the individuals.

The U.S. Marshall’s Service disagrees. Leaders of the region’s fugitive task force say knowing immigration status can be very important to an investigation. In fact, the Marshall’s have an office in Mexico to help with cross-border cases.

Last week, the city of Tacoma joined Seattle in admonishing Arizona for its immigration law. While the council did not go so far as passing a boycott, the ordinance does criticize Arizona for its stand against illegal immigration.

Flag Vandalism Mars Memorial Day in Several States

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Who burns American flags? Terrorist certainly do. Muslims overseas do. Illegal Mexican immigrants do. Neo-Nazi’s do. Anti-War protesters do. Take your pick.

From Oregon to Minnesota to Ohio, vandals trampled on Old Glory over the Memorial Day weekend. In one Ohio town alone, approximately 25 American flags were found set ablaze on Monday.

At least one national veterans group called for those responsible for the “shocking and reprehensible” acts of vandalism to be quickly arrested and prosecuted.

Police in Wooster, Ohio, were going door-to-door early Tuesday in search of the people who torched roughly 25 flags and flagpoles along Saunders Drive and Morgan Street, Capt. John Quicci said.

“They were set on fire,” Quicci told, adding that an investigation is ongoing.

No suspects or motives had been identified, according to Quicci, who was unable to estimate damages to the 3-by-5-foot flags and the 10-foot metal poles placed outside of residents’ homes by the annual Wooster Rotary Parade of Flags project.
