University Instructor Fired Over Religious Belief Homosexuality is a Sin

Friday, July 9th, 2010

More religious persecution at the hands of the liberal education system.

URBANA, Ill. — The University of Illinois has fired an adjunct professor who taught courses on Catholicism after a student accused the instructor of engaging in hate speech by saying he agrees with the church’s teaching that homosexual sex is immoral.

The professor, Ken Howell of Champaign, has taught at the university for nine years. He says his firing violates his academic freedom.

A professor at the university who is also president of the American Association of University Professors agrees. Cary Nelson says teachers are allowed to express their own beliefs.

University spokeswoman Robin Kaler declined comment because Howell’s firing is a personnel issue.

The student had a friend register his complaint and has remained anonymous.

“Islam, The Next Frontier of NASA” by Michael G. Mickey

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Recently it was reported by a number of news sources that President Obama recently admitted in private, to Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit, that he is a Muslim. It immediately brought back to the forefront of my mind memories of him telling ABC’s George Stephanopoulos in a 2008 interview that then-presidential candidate John McCain hadn’t talked about his “Muslim faith”, seconds after which Stephanopoulos reminded Obama that he was a Christian and Obama attempted a recovery which fell flat from my perspective. Why? Because, no matter how many times I watched the video, I couldn’t get past how easily the words “my Muslim faith” rolled over then-Senator Obama’s lips, coupled with the fact it wasn’t the first time Obama had given indications that he might be a Muslim.

I’d previously read an interview of Senator Obama that appeared in the New York Times on March 6, 2007, during which he referred to the Muslim call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset” and “recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent”, some pretty strange behavior for one who refers to themself as a Christian to be engaging in.

Let’s look at what President Obama was saying in that 2007 interview when he recited the Muslim call to prayer so fluently, shall we? He was saying:

“Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that Muhammad is his prophet!”

Question: How many Christians do you know – real blood-bought, born-again Christians – who would utter, even in recollection of their time spent as a child in a foreign land which is the case where President Obama is concerned, that there is “no god but Allah”? Not too many, just as you aren’t going to find many committed Muslims who are going to believe in the Trinity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost or the Gospel of Jesus Christ as recorded in the bible. Sure, Christ exists in the Muslim faith but He is lowered to the role of a mere prophet by Islam, leaving Him a mortal man. Know any genuine Christians who are okay with that? I don’t which is why I’m at a loss to know what religious faith, if any, President Obama affiliates himself with in his heart, which is where it matters.

We all know that many people, particularly politicians, are like tumbleweeds. They roll whichever direction the winds of change carry them, switching positions on moral, ethical, spiritual and even diplomatic issues as needed to gain acceptance – and votes. Perhaps President Obama is one of those people. If he is, it isn’t helping him any in gaining favor with an increasingly disapproving American public as his daily approval ratings are reflecting. Perhaps this is because the only people who trust tumbleweed personalities are other tumbleweed personalities. Principled and spiritually-grounded people, regardless of what religious faith they ascribe to, know who they are and what they stand for which is why true Christians don’t recite the Muslim call to prayer (fluently or otherwise) and Muslims reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the latter being something the Church needs to be working to change in love of those practicing the Muslim faith.

Is President Obama a Muslim or is he a Christian? I don’t know, which is one reason I don’t trust him in the office he presently holds. I’d love to be able to trust him, honestly I would, but I believe scripture when it says that a “double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:8)

Is President Obama unstable in all his ways? He certainly seems to be from my perspective. He claims to be a Christian publicly and occasionally, it seems, claims to be a Muslim, the latter sometimes occurring, allegedly, in private conversations and other times during network television interviews. He has an ‘unbreakable bond’ with Israel this week but it wasn’t long ago that he treated visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a manner unbecoming his office, as well as to the disgrace of the American people, the vast majority of whom strongly support Israel.

Some will likely say I’m overstating how badly things went the last time the Israeli PM visited, but am I? Consider the following excerpt from a Jerusalem Post story posted on 7-7-10, particularly the statements a member of the Knesset made during which he assessed Netanyahu’s recent visit to Washington in contrast to the aftermath of PM Netanyahu’s last visit to Washington:

US President Barack Obama’s attempts to portray himself as pro-Israel in his press conference with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu at the White House on Tuesday failed to persuade right-wing MKs, who warned that Obama is “still evil.”

The MKs questioned the president’s motives and suggested that he was putting on a show for American Jews ahead of the crucial November mid-term elections, in which the Democrats may lose control of Congress.

“He doesn’t sound evil now because he needs Jewish votes and money,” said Deputy Negev and Galilee Development Minister Ayoub Kara.

“But I won’t forget the pressure he put on Netanyahu and the stress I saw in the prime minister the last time he came back from Washington. He is acting the way he is for political reasons.”

Is President Obama suddenly pro-Israel or is he thinking about the upcoming November elections, getting Jewish and Christian votes? I’m inclined to believe the latter, especially in light of the fact NASA’s (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) next frontier doesn’t appear to be in space but here on earth where its foremost mission handed down by the Obama administration, according to Administrator Charles Bolden, is to improve U.S. relations with the Muslim world.

The following was recently said by Bolden in an interview he participated in on the Al Jazeera network:

“When I became the NASA administrator — or before I became the NASA administrator — he charged me with three things. One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science … and math and engineering.”

Personally, I’m wondering why our tax dollars dedicated to space exploration and science are being utilized to build better relationships with specifically Muslim nations. I’m doubly wondering why an even greater effort is being placed where “dominantly Muslim nations” are concerned. What, pray tell, is the agenda behind this on the part of the Obama administration? Is this merely an example of liberals doing the nutty things that liberals tend to do politically, diplomatically, and spiritually or something more sinister? I’ll leave that for others to decide but the last time I checked? “Dominantly Muslim nations” tend to be hostile to the United States of America, Israel and the God of the bible. Bible prophecy doesn’t seem to point to that changing at all, not that I suspect anyone in the Obama administration has taken that into consideration. As such, while I am as supportive as anyone can humanly be of our nation befriending every nation and people willing to accept our friendship, which is God’s will of course, my soul is very troubled by the course the Obama administration has set for NASA.

The Obama administration’s vision for NASA’s future only reinforces, in my mind, suspicions that President Obama is too sympathetic to the desires of “dominantly Muslim nations”, some of which want nothing less than to wipe Israel from the face of the earth, to keep the United States from greatly offending Almighty God who has been crystal clear in stating which side of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, for example, all nations had best place themselves on – the side of Israel!

Our choice as a nation, as stated in Genesis 12:3, is to either bless Israel and subsequently be blessed by God or to curse (or oppose) Israel and be cursed by God. Which choice is the Obama administration going to make? Increasingly it seems the latter. May God have mercy on those worthy of receiving it should that be true.

Psalm 122:6: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

“Whitewashing Black Racism” by Michelle Malkin

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Here is an important fact to remember:
The term “Cracker” is to a white person what the word “Nigger” is to a black person. Both are very racist and disparaging remarks, completely inappropriate and uncalled for.

Why haven’t national media outlets reported on the vile and violent rants of the New Black Panther Party (NBPP) thugs whose 2008 voter intimidation tactics got a pass from the Obama administration? Simple: Radical black racism doesn’t fit the Hope and Change narrative. There’s no way to shoehorn Bush-bashing into the story. And, let’s face it, exposing the inflammatory rhetoric of the left does nothing to help liberal editors and reporters fulfill their true calling — embarrassing the right.

This week, Justice Department whistleblower J. Christian Adams came forward with damning public testimony about how Obama officials believe “civil rights law should not be enforced in a race-neutral manner, and should never be enforced against blacks or other national minorities.” In the wake of Adams’ expose on how the Obama DOJ abandoned default judgments against the NBPP bullies for the sake of politically correct racial politics, a shocking video clip of one of the lead defendants in the Philadelphia voter intimidation case resurfaced on the Internet. It shows bloodthirsty King Samir Shabazz during a 2009 National Geographic documentary interview spewing:

“You want freedom? You’re gonna have to kill some crackers! You’re gonna have to kill some of their babies!”

These NBPP death threats and white-bashing diatribes are nothing new to those who have tracked the black supremacy movement. In August 2009, nearly a year ago, I reported on a sign on display outside NBPP defendant (and elected member of Philadelphia’s 14th Ward Democratic Committee) Jerry Jackson’s home. It reads: “COLORED ONLY: No Whites Allowed.” In July 2009, I interviewed poll watcher/witness Christopher Hill, whom Shabazz and Jackson called “cracker” several times while Shabazz brandished his baton.

“They physically attempted to block me,” Hill recounted. He also saw a group of elderly ladies walk away from the polling site without voting while the duo preened in front of the entrance. “If you’re a poll watcher, you shouldn’t be dressed in paramilitary garb,” Hill said, as he wondered aloud at what would have happened if he had showed up in the same sort of costume.

In May 2009, I reported on the affidavit of civil rights attorney and poll watcher Bartle Bull, who witnessed the NBPP thuggery in Philadelphia and reported on billy club-wielding Shabazz’s election day boast: “You’re about to be ruled by the black man, cracker.”

In the fall of 2008, just days before he showed up to hector white poll workers, Shabazz told the Philadelphia Inquirer:

“I’m about the total destruction of white people. I’m about the total liberation of black people. I hate white people. I hate my enemy….The only thing the cracker understands is violence….The only thing the cracker understands is gunpowder. You got to take violence to violence.”

The desire to kill, subordinate and demonize white people is a staple of NBPP propaganda. An NBPP Trenton, NJ, chapter “block party” music video posted on YouTube calls on black followers to “bang for freedom,” “put the bang right into a cracker’s face,” and “if you’re going to bang, bang for black power…hang a cracker…if you’re going to bang, bang on the white devil…burying him near the river bank with the right shovel…community revolution in progress…banging for crackers to go to hell, we don’t need ’em.”

Chanting “Black Power,” Minister Najee Muhammad, national field marshal for the New Black Panther Party, and Uhuru Shakur, local chairman of the Atlanta NBPP chapter, issued a pre-Election Day 2008 threat to “racists and other angry whites who are upset over an impending Barack Obama presidential victory.” Said Muhammad: “Most certainly, we cannot allow these racist forces to slaughter our babies or commit other acts of violence against the black population, nor our black president.”

That’s rich, given that the only racists talking about slaughtering babies are the ones with New Black Panther Party patches on their puffed chests.

If a Tea Party activist threatened to kill the babies of his political opponents, it wouldn’t just be front-page news. It would be the subject of Democrat-led congressional investigations, a series of terrified New York Times columns about the perilous “climate of hate,” a Justice Department probe by Attorney General Eric Holder, a domestic terror alert from Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, and another Important Teachable Moment Speech/Summit from Healer-in-Chief Barack Obama.

But with the racism shoe on the other foot, Team Obama and its media water-carriers are exhibiting the very racial cowardice Holder once purported to condemn. Thanks to Obama’s feckless Department of Injustice, these black supremacist brutes are free to show up on the next national Election Day at polling places in full paramilitary regalia with nightsticks, hurling racist, anti-American epithets at those exercising their right to vote and at those protecting the integrity of the electoral process.

The reaction of our national media watchdogs: Shhhhhhhh.

“NEW YORK JEWS WELCOME NETANYAHU” by Fern Sidman

Friday, July 9th, 2010

“Welcome to New York City, Mr. Prime Minister” was the rallying cry of the day as over 150 zealously pro-Israel supporters gathered outside the Council on Foreign Relations on Manhattan’s upper east side on Thursday afternoon, July 8th to greet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as he delivered an address on Israel’s role in the global community. The demonstration of support for Israel was spearheaded by the campus advocacy organization, “Stand With Us” along with the endorsement of other such organizations as American Friends of Likud, American Zionist Movement, AMIT, Dor Chadash, Emunah of America, Zionist Organization of the Conservative Movement, the National Council of Young Israel, the Northern New Jersey Region of Hadassah, the Queens Jewish Community Council, The AISH Center of NY, the West Side Sephardic Synagogue and the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism.

“The State of Israel wants peace and has done everything in its power to achieve it, but the only thing standing in the way are such purported “peace partners” as Hamas and Hezbollah who have vowed to obliterate Israel with the help of their financial backers such as Iran”, said Avi Posnick, New York City chapter chairman of Stand With Us.

Posnick’s comments come only a day after Prime Minister Netanyahu met with President Barack Obama in closed door meetings at the oval office of the White House. Responding to reports of the demise of the U.S.-Israel relationship, Netanyahu said they are “flat wrong.” In contrast to the icy reception accorded the Israeli prime minister by the US president back in May of this year, the two leaders presented a united front with President Obama telling reporters, “The United States is committed to Israel’s security. We are committed to that special bond. And we are going to do what’s required to back that up, not just with words, but with actions.”

For the Israeli leader’s part, Netanyahu said of the seemingly intractable Israeli-Palestinian conflict, “We’re committed to that peace. I’m committed to that peace.” Hinting at the possibility of circumventing proximity talks with Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority and resuming direct face-to-face talks that stalled in December of 2008, Netanyahu said he and Obama discussed specific steps that could be taken in the coming weeks to move the peace process forward, without elaborating. “When I say the next few weeks, that’s what I mean,” he said. “The president means that too.”

“My question is: Who is the real Barack Obama?” declared New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D) who represents the 48th assembly district in Boro Park, Brooklyn. Hikind, a featured speaker at the demonstration is also a longtime Jewish activist. “There is nothing like an election year that would serve as an impetus for the President of the United States to actually treat the Prime Minister of Israel with respect” Hikind declared. “It is Hamas who has publicly proclaimed its commitment to violence and it is Israel who has many every effort towards a long range peace with the Palestinians including making the most painful decision to evacuate Jewish residents of Gush Katif in 2005” he said.

Holding aloft signs saying, “Israel Has a Right to Defend Herself” and “Iran Is The Impediment to Peace”, the demonstrators waved Israeli flags and chanted “Am Yisroel Chai” (the nation of Israel lives) as a formidable contingent of anti-Israel and pro-Hamas apologists stood directly across the street in opposition. Some 40 members of the anti-Zionist Chareidi organization Neturei Karta stood shoulder to shoulder with members of The New York Campaign for the Boycott of Israel, American Jews for a Just Peace, Adalah – NY, Jews Say No! and the WESPAC Foundation as they called for an “end to the siege on Gaza”. Holding Palestinian flags and chanting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, the demonstrators called Prime Minister Netanyahu “a war criminal” for his role in the May 31st Turkish flotilla controversy.

“The Palestinian people in Gaza are living in squalor; without food, medicine and basic supplies because of Israel’s blockade. We are demanding that President Obama and world leaders call for an international war crimes tribunal against the leaders of the Israeli government for their brutal execution of humanitarian activists on the Marvi Mamara” said Ahmed Husseini of the Muslim Students Foundation.

“Don’t believe for even a moment that there is a humanitarian crisis in Gaza” said Malcolm Hoenlein, executive vice chairman and CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. “There is no shortage of food and medicine in Gaza. Every week Israeli allows tens of thousands of pounds of food and other essential staple items into Gaza”, he said. “We, too, want to end the ‘siege’ on Gaza. We, too, want to end the siege that has been imposed on the Palestinian people of Gaza by the Iranian proxy terrorist organization Hamas. We, too, want to see a ‘free’ Gaza. A Gaza that is free of rockets, missiles and deadly explosives that are smuggled in by the kinds of people who were aboard the IHH sponsored flotilla” he intoned.

Referring to the counter-protestors, Hoenlein said, “Despite the signs they hold that designate themselves as humanitarians, the clearly stated objectives of these people is the annihilation of Israel. We must let the world know that those who are enemies of Israel are also enemies of freedom, democracy, justice and liberty and they threaten Western civilization as we know it.”

Hoenlein also called upon Hamas to release Sgt. Gilad Shalit, the Israeli soldier who has been held captive by Palestinian terrorists since 2006. “Both Gilad Shalit and Jonathan Pollard should be released from their respective prisons and we will not stop working towards their freedom is assured”, he said. Prime Minister Netanyahu said on CNN’s Larry King Live that he would offer 1000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the freedom of Gilad Shalit. “While the majority of these Palestinian prisoners will be freed only to kill and maim both Israeli soldiers and civilians, some kind of deal must be struck to secure Gilad Shalit’s freedom”, said Dov Hikind.

Radical Islam on the Rise, Compliments of Obama

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Obama has made clear his support of radical Islam and his disdain of Israel. He has consistently “slapped”, so to speak, Israel at every opportunity, while inviting radical Islam to grow and prosper.

On July 11 the radical Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir America (HTA) will hold its second annual “Global Campaign for Khilafah” in a Chicago suburb to call for an end to capitalism and to hype the virtues of an Islamic state ruled by strict sharia law. Last year’s gathering — themed “Fall of Capitalism & Rise of Islam” — drew about 500 people, but this year the group has reserved an 11,000-square-foot ballroom, hoping to draw more than a thousand participants. This year’s event is billed “Emerging World Order: How the Khilafah Will Shape the World.”

HTA is an extremist organization which wants to establish a global Khilafah. The group has been described by the president of American Islamic Forum for Democracy as “a conveyor belt to terror” and a former member as believing that “homosexuals should be thrown off the highest building.” Among its alumni are 9/11 mastermind Kalid Sheik Mohammed and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the one-time leader of al-Qaida in Iraq. (See related article)

Robert Knight is a senior fellow at the American Civil Rights Union and a senior writer for Coral Ridge Ministries. He contends that radical Islamic groups such as HTA have become emboldened because of President Obama’s snubbing of Israel and his outreach to Muslims.

“He’s sent many signals that Islam is on the rise in America and that he’s fine with it,” Knight points out. “And I think these groups are feeling emboldened that they can step out of the shadows and proclaim that they are working for establishment of sharia law, which is entirely unconstitutional by our standards. But they feel so emboldened that they can hold public conferences and proclaim the fall of capitalism and the rise of Islam.”
