Poll Indicates Strong US Sympathy for Plight of Israel

It looks like maybe people are starting to catch on to the true situation in Israel as they attempt to appease the world in regards to the terrorist state, pali-land.

A national poll shows that U.S. support for Israel is at a five-year high, with 84% of America’s “opinion elite” considering Israel one of America’s strongest allies. The same poll shows that 92% of those surveyed consider Iran — more than any other country in the world — the most serious and immediate threat to the United States.

The “opinion elite” group comprises college graduates with a minimum household income of $75,000 who regularly get news from national newspapers, newsmagazines, and television or radio news. Commissioned by The Israel Project, the survey found that 73% of America’s opinion elite understand that Islamic extremism is responsible for instability in the Middle East. By contrast, just 12% of those polled said Israel and its policies were at fault for instability in the region.

Three-fourths of those surveyed said that the United States should not resume aid to the Palestinian Authority until it officially recognizes Israel’s right to exist and denounces and stops terrorism. Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi, founder and president of the Israel Project, says 72% of those polled agreed that resuming aid to the Palestinians should also be contingent on putting an end to their “culture of hate.”

That, she says, is “a problem that has sadly been perpetuated and exacerbated in Palestinian public schools and textbooks.” By contrast, she points out, “Israel proudly teaches a peace curriculum in its curriculum and in its schools.”

And the percentage of those who consider Iran to be a serious threat to the U.S. is higher than for North Korea, Syria, Sudan, or Venezuela, notes the Israel Project spokeswoman.

“People are clearly concerned about Iran — and they should be,” says Mizrahi, “because it’s the world’s biggest state-sponsor of terror. In fact, almost three-quarters of U.S. opinion elite believe Iran should be stopped from developing nuclear weapons. At the same time, more than eight out of ten people surveyed say Americans should divest from companies doing business with Iran.”

Florida recently became the first state to pass a bill to divest from companies doing business in both Iran and Sudan.
