Low Turnout for Muslims’ Capitol Hill Rally

A political activist and pro-family leader says last week’s Islamic event on Capitol Hill was clearly a bust as far as attendance was concerned. Robert Knight, a senior fellow at the American Civil Rights Union and a senior writer for Coral Ridge Ministries, adds that unless a person could understand Arabic, one wouldn’t have known what was being said there.

Organizers of Friday’s “Islam on Capitol Hill” event blame opposition by some Christian groups for a much smaller turnout than they anticipated. The number of Muslims who actually gathered outside the U.S. Capitol ranged from 1,000 to 3,000 — a fraction of the 50,000 that organizers expected. Muslims who did participate report they heard calls to repent from some of the Christians.

“[Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch] said they did add up to the ultimate goal of submission to Islam and had a triumphal air to them. People who could understand them knew they were talking about the superiority of Islam over everything else,” he adds.
