Update: Sneaky Senate Dems to Add Free Tuition for Illegal Aliens to Defense Bill

Last week we blogged about an amendment to a defense spending bill that would grant illegal aliens free tuition, a favor even U.S. citizens are not granted.
If you have not contacted your senator, time is running out. There are only 18 senators who have committed to vote “no” on this bill. Michelle Malkin has the list of those who have and have not. Contact your senator today and let them know that you are not in favor of this amendment.

Senate Amendment 2237 (referred to as the “DREAM Act”) is set to be added to the Department of Defense authorization bill (H.R. 1585) later this week.
As we have come to expect lately from Senate Democrats, despite overwhelming public opposition, they are still determined to shove illegal alien amnesty down our throats.
Time to contact your senator again. Do it today so that this legislation doesn’t get pushed through.
By the way, you won’t hear about this in the mainstream media (big surprise).

Better re-read Leviticus 19:33-34 before you write again. The overwhelming majority of these people came here to work and have a better life. They are the new sojourners or aliens in the land. God directed the Jews to treat them as well as they treated themselves. Why are we any different?

Leviticus applies to those who entered the land with permission from the Israelites. Because of this, they were protected by the Jewish law. You are comparing apples to oranges. The Israelites kept many different cultures that they deemed “dangerous” to them, out of their lands. If these people came into Israel “illegally” they could have been (and many were) “put to the sword”.

    James,
Don’t get me wrong here. I’m all for people coming to our country legally. I agree that the process for admitting people to our country legally needs fixing so that it doesn’t take so long and tie people up in an endless bureaucracy.
But just because the system doesn’t work good doesn’t give people the right to break our laws. It doesn’t give them the right to ask for rights, once they have arrived illegally, that are reserved for those who are citizens and legal immigrants.
