“The Two Things To Know Before Your City is Nuked By Terrorists” by Douglas MacKinnon

August 16th, 2007 by Steve

1.) Tragically, horrifyingly, but quite predictably, it’s going to happen. The only question being which American city or cities?

In a recent conversation with a former high level intelligence operative of our government, I raised the possibility of terrorists successfully detonating a nuclear weapon within the United States. His response was sobering in its hopelessness.

First, he stressed how grateful he was that he did not work in Washington, DC, and that his family lived far enough out to survive the coming nuclear blast. When I pressed him as to why he was so sure that Islamic terrorists – with or without the help of Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez – would eventually hit DC or another American city with a nuclear weapon, his anger boiled out.

He pointed the finger squarely at our politicians and our politically correct, left-leaning media, who, in his opinion, have “sealed our fate.” He spoke of politicians from both sides of the aisle who consider border security nothing more than a cheap tool to be used for their reelection and enrichment. He despaired about a media that not only gleefully leaks our nation’s most trusted secrets for partisan gain, but then willingly acts as a propaganda tool for the very terrorists intent on our total destruction.

He warned of the hundreds of “loose nukes” floating around our planet. He patiently explained that the former Soviet Union (no matter what they or our government claim), can’t account for a number of their nuclear warheads. That North Korea may well have a few they are willing to sell to terrorists to prop up their totalitarian regime. That Pakistan – already a nuclear power – may soon fall victim to the Islamic extremists trying to overthrow that government. Of an Iran further ahead in their development of nuclear weapons than thought. And last, but not least, he spoke of the thousands of cruise missiles unaccounted for around the world. A number of those missiles being nuclear tipped.

In short, because of what he portrayed as a “betrayal by those sworn to protect us,” a nuclear attack within our nation, in his mind, is “inevitable.”

2.) When said attack comes, you and your family are on your own. Period. My friend stressed that “our government won’t be there to help us. It is broken beyond repair and incapable of assisting those most affected by the blast.”

He talked of critical infrastructures like water, electricity, fuel, banks, our food supply, medical services, police and firefighters, being unavailable for weeks or months. He warned of the blind panic that would follow such an explosion. Of the looting, of neighbor turning on neighbor to take what they don’t have for their own survival. Of our economy suffering an economic loss in the trillions of dollars.

Knowing this, are you prepared? Can you and your family ride out the frighteningly unpredictable weeks or months following the loss of an American city and its inhabitants? If you are not in the city hit, can you survive?

You must ask yourself this question. For, unless there is a miraculous epiphany about to be visited upon our self-centered politicians, then such an attack is certain.

If our politicians and the voters continue to suicidally put party and partisan politics before the welfare and security of our nation, then the terrorists will find the opening to hit us.

Our government and media are failing us. Prepare for the worst.

“Sanctuary Nation or Sovereign Nation” by Michelle Malkin

August 16th, 2007 by Steve

Will the execution-style murder of three young students in Newark, N.J., finally turn the tide in the immigration enforcement debate? Will we at last abandon the deadly, chaotic, lawless sanctuary nation experiment and restore America’s lost status as a sovereign nation under the rule of law?

The death of six innocent men and women and the injury of more than 1,000 at the hands of several illegal alien 1993 World Trade Center bombers wasn’t enough to convince politicians in New York and across this country to end illegal alien sanctuary policies.

The death of nearly 3,000 innocent men, women and children at the hands of the 9/11 jihadists who exploited our lax entrance and visa enforcement policies in 2001 wasn’t enough.

The death of 10 innocent men and women in the Washington, D.C., area at the hands of an illegal alien sniper and his bloodthirsty mentor in 2002 wasn’t enough.

But now we are in the heat of a presidential election cycle. The open-borders opportunists in immigration enforcement clothing are professing to see the light. With illegal alien murder suspect Jose Carranza and his alleged MS-13 gang-banging boy helpers who are being sought in the brutal Newark murder case dominating the news on the Eastern seaboard, politicians can’t find a camera fast enough to condemn the very sanctuary policies they promoted and tolerated for decades — sanctuary policies I’ve highlighted for years in this column and on this blog.

Amnesty-first GOP presidential candidate John McCain is now singing the enforcement-first tune. And GOP presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani vowed Tuesday to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the U.S.

He’s touting a “tamper-proof ID card” that includes fingerprints for everyone entering the country and a central database to track when they leave.

What Rudy-come-lately fails to comprehend is that there are already multiple alien tracking databases mandated by federal law that have yet to be fully implemented, integrated and used. The reason they don’t work is because open-borders interests have sabotaged them by restricting funding for them, objecting to them on civil liberties grounds, and pushing local and state governments to forbid public employees from checking them to verify citizenship status. Ring a bell, Rudy?

Giuliani’s newfound border security zeal is intended to blunt criticism by GOP rival Mitt Romney of Giuliani’s pro-sanctuary record as NYC mayor. Giuliani has issued Clintonian denials that he supported sanctuary. But the record is clear. New York City’s sanctuary policy was created in 1989 by Democrat Mayor Ed Koch and upheld by every mayor succeeding him. When Congress enacted immigration reform laws that forbade local governments from barring employees from cooperating with the INS, Giuliani filed suit against the feds in 1997. He was rebuffed by two lower courts, which ruled that the sanctuary order amounted to special treatment for illegal aliens and was nothing more than an unlawful effort to flaunt federal enforcement efforts against illegal aliens. In January 2000, the Supreme Court rejected his appeal, but Giuliani vowed to ignore the law.

To this day, the city’s policy of safe harbors for illegal immigrants stands. Giuliani successor Michael Bloomberg defiantly reiterated the official sanctuary posture of NYC this week: “Let ‘em come.” Could he be more callous, cavalier and out of touch in a post-9/11 world?

From New York to Newark to Seattle to Portland to San Francisco to Los Angeles to San Diego to Houston to Miami, lawmakers have taken this go-with-the-flow attitude toward illegal alien border-crossers and visa overstayers and deportation fugitives. “Let ‘em come.”

But in the wake of the Newark murders and the illumination of illegal alien gang crime penetrating the country, a new rallying cry came from the lips of Newark Mayor Cory Booker: “Get this evil out of my city.” That won’t happen without a demonstrated commitment to cooperate with the feds to enforce immigration laws and deport violent and dangerous criminal aliens first.

A few weeks ago, I launched deportthemnow.com. Nearly 8,000 volunteers have signed up to make their voices heard. Our top priorities will be to push for the adoption of a program known as 287(g) to identify criminal illegal aliens in as many cities as possible; to repeal “don’t ask-don’t tell” sanctuary laws; and to support lawmakers like Newark City Councilman Ron C. Rice, who is pushing a resolution to coordinate efforts between law enforcement when an illegal immigrant is charged with a felony, and New Jersey Assemblyman Richard Merkt, R-Morris, who proposed prohibiting jail officials from releasing illegal immigrants and requiring them to be remanded to federal authorities.

It’s time for ordinary Americans to come out of the shadows and remind Washington every day in words and actions that we are a sovereign nation, not a sanctuary nation.

No more promises. No need to wait for Election ‘08. Just do it.

Lone Star State’s Religious Expression Bill Goes Into Effect Sept. 1

August 16th, 2007 by Steve

It’s a shame we even need this law. It should be common sense.

Under a new law enacted earlier this summer and going into effect in a few weeks, public school students in Texas should feel less intimidated by the threat of legal action when sharing or expressing their personal faith on campus, whether it be verbally or in a class assignment.

The “Religious Viewpoints Anti-Discrimination Act” (HB 3678), approved during the last legislative session and signed by Texas Governor Rick Perry in early June, gives public school districts across the Lone Star State until September 1 to adopt a policy designating school events where public forums will be available for students. Many say it will create more opportunities for students to express their religious views in public schools — perhaps because the new law creates guidelines for student speakers at graduation ceremonies, football games, and other school-wide events, and also allows students to organize religious groups and activities.

Jonathan Saenz is with Plano-based Liberty Legal Institute, which helped draft the bill. He says the new law will protect the free-speech rights of students.

“This bill will give students confidence to be able to talk about what their beliefs are, just like students talk about all other kinds of topics and interests they have,” Saenz explains. “They won’t feel like they’re second-class citizens because they actually talk about something that’s religious or they happen to mention the name ‘God’ when they’re in a public school — something that our Supreme Court has said for years they’re allowed to do.”

Saenz argues that despite the high court’s standing on the matter, many school districts have been guilty of violating students’ freedom of speech. “It’s been a pattern of cases and a number of cases, and just, really, the school districts showing their unwillingness to follow the law,” he asserts.

“And so year after year, we see these things happen in Texas — and we decided enough is enough,” the attorney continues. “They’re obviously not following the law as it’s been brought down and decided by court cases, so we had to put it in state law so we can make absolutely clear to them what the law is.”

The bill, which faced strong opposition from the American Civil Liberties Union and teachers unions, was sponsored by Republican State Representative Charlie Howard from Sugar Land, a Houston suburb.

NJ Activist Fears School Play Will Distort Facts of Matthew Shepard Murder

August 16th, 2007 by Steve

A New Jersey pro-family group is raising objections to a high school’s plans to sponsor a play intended to honor a slain homosexual college student.

The drama club at Ocean Township High School will perform a controversial play called “The Laramie Project” for a school assembly and on three other occasions in November. The play is about the reaction to the brutal murder of homosexual University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard in 1998.

Superintendent Thomas Pagano initially opposed the performance, but after receiving a flood of protest from homosexual activists in New Jersey, decided he will allow the play on campus. Steve Goldstein, who heads the homosexual advocacy group Garden State Equality, claims 2,000 of the group’s members sent letters to school officials protesting Pagano’s original decision.

Len Deo, president of the New Jersey Family Policy Council, says Goldstein’s group wields a significant amount of power and has become very active in homosexual-related issues in the Garden State.

“They were extremely involved in the movement for domestic partnership benefits, then for civil unions,” Deo notes. “And now they’re … aggressively working to have marriage totally redefined in the State of New Jersey, and to be legislatively enacted, [Goldstein] says, within the next two years.”

Deo says he fears by allowing “The Laramie Project” to be performed on campus, facts surrounding the Shepard murder will be distorted — something he claims homosexual activists and their supporters have already done.

“[W]hat the gay activists have done is they’ve spun this into what they believe to be a hate crime,” Deo asserts. “And so [they] are using it and using this young man’s life as a wedge issue to move their political agenda further down the field, so to speak.”

The murder, in fact, occurred during “somewhat of a drug deal that went bad,” Deo claims. “It involves basically an issue of drugs … and that’s why you had that horrendous crime,” states the Family Policy Council spokesman.

The family advocate fears allowing the play may not only blur the facts surrounding the Shepard murder, but also give the impression that Ocean Township High School has no problem with the homosexual lifestyle.

Texas Church Refuses to Host Memorial Service That Would Have Glorified Homosexuality

August 15th, 2007 by Steve

The pastor of a Texas church that refused to host a memorial service for a homosexual says the entire story has not been reported in the national media.

Gary Simons is pastor of High Point Church in Arlington. Last week, Lee Sinclair — an employee and also a member of the church — called a church staff member to let them know his brother, Cecil, was in critical condition and in the hospital. Cecil Sinclair, who was not a member, died a short time later.

The church offered to host Mr. Sinclair’s memorial service for free. However, when the family submitted photos for a memorial service video, Pastor Simons says church staff became concerned.

“One of the female staff personnel had called me — I was on a family vacation — and said, ‘We have some inappropriate photos here and we don’t know what to do.’ And I [asked], ‘Well, what do you mean inappropriate?’ [She responded] ‘Well, openly homosexual.’”

Also, friends and family wanted a local homosexual choir to sing at the service, as well as an open mike so anyone attending the memorial service could speak. In addition, ministers of the church would not be allowed to direct the service or to have control over what was said or emphasized. “Basically, they were asking us for our place of worship — but they were going to celebrate what they wanted to celebrate,” says Simons. “And of course homosexuality is not something — [according to] our principles, based in the Word of God — that we celebrate.”

Consequently, the pastor says, the decision was made to retract the offer to host the memorial service because the event would have been a celebration not of the Navy veteran’s life, but instead of the homosexual lifestyle.

“We had to live by our principles,” says Simons of that decision. “We would hypocritical if we didn’t stand by what we believed concerning homosexuality. We believe the Word of God does not condone homosexuality. But at the same time, we made a strong attempt to practice the love of Jesus.”

Pastor Simons points out that the church produced the memorial video for the family, without the inappropriate photos. In addition, many High Point members cooked and delivered food to Cecil Sinclair’s family and friends. He also reports that several High Point staff members attended the memorial service to support the family and reported afterwards that the “tone” of the service was openly homosexual.

In a statement read to the High Point congregation on Sunday, Simons stated his belief that the church acted properly and according to God’s Word in holding firm to its convictions concerning homosexuality.

“It’s our desire to always demonstrate the love of Christ to all people in both word and deed,” says the statement. “We would hope that the Sinclair family and the homosexual community would see our love for them through the many acts of kindness and outreach that we have extended to them. We realize that they might not agree with our convictions, but we hope that they would respect them.”

Ahmadinejad: Islam Must Rule the World

August 15th, 2007 by Steve

What I do not understand is why this type of comment is not considered more newsworthy? Here is a man who comes right out and tells everyone what he has planned for us. Remember “Israel must be wiped off the face of the earth”? He wants nukes and has told everyone what he plans to do with them. This man is not someone to be taken lightly.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Tuesday that rule of Islam on mankind is the only way for salvation of human beings.

“There is no truth on earth but monotheism and following tenets of Islam and there is no way for salvation of mankind but rule of Islam over mankind,” said Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Afghan Sunni and Shiite ulama at Iranian Embassy in Kabul.

President Ahmadinejad said nations are today distancing themselves from culture of materialism and selfishness and look for a new way for their prosperity, that is the path of Islam.

He said that the world is on verge of a great upheaval and ulama at this juncture shoulder a heavy responsibility that is introducing genuine Islam as it is.

“Nations today have no haven but religion,” the Iranian president announced, cautioning Muslim nations against enemies’ divisive plots.

He said, “All of us have the duty to resist the enemy by closing our ranks.”
He said that the Iranian nation today feels more than ever the need to stand beside the Afghan nation.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has kindly received their Afghan brothers and will continue to do so in future. Minor issues will cannot affect Iran’s policies on Afghanistan,” he added.

The president said Islam belongs to all generations and Muslims should get ready for global mission of Islam.

Muslim Brotherhood Leader Prohibits Vaccination of Children, Sees Conspiracy by Jews and Freemasons

August 15th, 2007 by Steve

By all means, Muslims, let your children die of preventable diseases. Instead of caring for your family, see a Jewish conspiracy under every rock. I mean really, kids are only property to a Muslim man anyway. He can always subject his wife and make more of them. He’s only going to teach them to strap bombs on their bodies and blow up innocent civilians anyway. What’s the problem with letting a couple of them die of preventable diseases?
Folks, this is the mentality we are dealing with from the Islamist. Even the ones who live here in the U.S.

Following are excerpts from an interview with Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed, leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on July 28, 2007:

Interviewer: We are visiting you at a time when events in Darfur are casting a shadow on Sudan. I would like to ask you for your opinion about what is happening, and who is responsible for it.

[…]

Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed: The West, and the Americans in particular, have been planning this for years.

Interviewer: The West or the Americans?

Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed: The Americans in particular. The reason is that they studied this region extensively – the Darfur region in particular – and realized that it is full of treasures, the likes of which have never been found elsewhere in Sudan.

Interviewer: So in your opinion, the Americans are behind what is happening in Darfur?

Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed: Yes. They are behind all the tragedies that are taking place in Darfur.

Interviewer: Would you accept a Christian as the ruler of Sudan, now that peace accords have been signed here?

Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed: I would not accept this.

Interviewer: Even if he is elected by the people?

Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed: If he is elected by the people, and this becomes a reality, then that’s it – this will be the reality. But if you ask for my opinion – no.

Interviewer: Why not? What is the reason for this?

Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed: Islam does not permit a non-Muslim to rule over Muslims.

Interviewer: You issued a fatwa prohibiting the vaccination of children, claiming it is a conspiracy of the Jews and Freemasons. Is this true?

Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed: This is 100% true.

Interviewer: How come?

Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed: I followed this issue in several shocking articles, which failed to shock anyone in the government.

Interviewer: But where did you get the information about a conspiracy?

Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed: I am following this issue, along with two or three brothers. We are following this issue globally through the Internet, through several media outlets, and through the ministry that carries out this procedure, which I consider to be a crime against the children.

Interviewer: But how come? After all, there is medical supervision…

Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed: No, brother. They only claim that there is medical supervision. I wrote and challenged the Health Ministry to meet with me for a dialogue, in which I would provide the proof, and they would have to prove me wrong. But they refused. Allah be praised, the fact that I followed this issue bore fruit, and thousands of children were saved from the claws of the Jewish movement, which is represented by the watchamacallit…

Interviewer: The Freemasons?

Sheik Sadeq Abdallah bin Al-Majed: …the Freemason movement, which is behind this. If the Jews could find a way to annihilate the people throughout the world, and ultimately have the rule to themselves – they would do it.

Shari’a Lunch (or Lack of Lunch in This Case) Comes to Scotland

August 15th, 2007 by Steve

In yet another example of the fall of the U.K. to Islam, health care workers have been banned from eating lunch at their desks on the chance that it might offend their Muslim colleagues during the month long Muslim holiday of Ramadan.

DOCTORS and health workers have been banned from eating lunch at their desks - in case it offends their Muslim colleagues.

Health chiefs believe the sight of food will upset Muslim workers when they are celebrating the religious festival Ramadan.

The lunch trolley is also to be wheeled out of bounds as the 30-day fast begins next month.

But staff and politicians branded the move political correctness gone mad and warned that it was a step too far.

Bill Aitken, the Scottish Conservative justice spokesman, said: “This advice, well-meaning as it may be, is total nonsense.

“It is the sort of thing that can stir up resentment rather than result in good relations.”

The new guidance comes in the wake of the failed terror attacks on Glasgow and the death of suspect Kafeel Ahmed, 27.

Health chiefs in Lothian and Glasgow will give all employees time off to pray and to celebrate Eid, which marks the end of Ramadan.

But Greater Glasgow and Clyde as well as Lothian NHS boards also issued the advice, warning workers not to take working lunches, and said all vending machines should be removed from areas where Muslims work.

One senior consultant said: “What next? Are we going to have advice on how to deal with Catholics during Lent?
“This kind of thing does more harm than good.”

The guidance, which was sent round many organisations, was produced by Glasgow consultancy Meem, which advises on Muslim issues and counts the Scottish Parliament among its clients.

“The Legal Jihad Is Already Underway” By Phyllis Chesler

August 15th, 2007 by Steve

When will the West awaken? Of course, I am not talking about your ordinary citizen or soldier but about our Talking Heads and other gate-keeping chatterers who simply refuse to “get it.”

Cambridge University Press not only recalls but has promised to pulp the book that authoritatively documents one Saudi billionaire’s funding of terror; many anti-jihadic writers and all our leading mainstream media have privately apologized to this same billionaire. Only Rachel Ehrenfeld has refused to “apologize” for telling the truth and has counter-sued him in an American court of law based on her First Amendment right to tell the truth. (She was initially sued in London where she lost by default; she chose not to appear in court).

At a recent conference in Los Angeles, sponsored by the American Freedom Alliance, Daniel Pipes announced his intention to start a legal defense bail fund for those who are sued by Islamists and their Western apologists for telling the truth. Not a moment too soon–although, regrettably, perhaps too late for Ehrenfeld. And, The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has begun a process of legal intimidation against my esteemed colleague, Robert Spencer. Accordingly, David Horowitz has launched a legal defense fund for Spencer. I have pledged money to this and advise us all to do the same.

Before this war is over, we will each need legal defense funds. And that’s if we’re lucky. Those in the Islamic East need bodyguards and air-lifts to safety in the West. But there is a pattern emerging in the West which we ignore at our own peril.

For example, a leading American publisher of law enforcement and counter-terrorism titles cancelled Dr. Nancy Kobrin’s book about Islamic suicide terrorism. I wrote the Introduction for it and together Dr. Kobrin and I “went public.” A number of other publishers emerged–but they quickly disappeared too.

I have been trying to find a publisher for a book titled The Islamification of America and guess what? No takers so far. I am ready to self-publish the work.

This is a very special kind of Gulag. The internet provides us with the most sophisticated and universal of platforms for such 21st-century “samizdats.”

We who write in the America are so far lucky. We are legally intimidated. We are silenced on campuses due to the “politically correct” ideologies that rule there. True, the American Jewish Committee recently paid for a full page New York Times ad signed by American college presidents who oppose the eternally-intended British boycott of Israeli academics and who bravely suggest that they be boycotted too. Well and good.

But guess who did not sign? Harvard, Yale, Vassar, California State University at Berkeley, Los Angeles, UCLA, San Francisco State, and of course, Norman Finkelstein’s old perch, De Paul in Chicago. (Maybe I’m wrong, maybe they did sign in a Harry Potter kind of way in invisible ink).

But this is nothing compared to what Muslim intellectuals (and women and human beings) must endure in the Islamic world today. If they are lucky, they live in exile or in hiding and write under pseudonyms. A handful write openly and travel with bodyguards.

I am just told that Taslima Nasrin was, yet again, attacked by one hundred angry Muslim fanatics as she held a press conference in Hyderabad, India, to launch her new book. Nasrin, a physician and a feminist author who was born in Bangladesh, was once nearly lynched by a mighty mob there. She fled her country and lived in exile in Sweden and in hiding. Now, she lives in India where dozens of Muslim protesters, led by three lawmakers physically attacked her and her co-panelists. They demanded that India extradite her to Bangladesh (I guess for the kind of justice Bangladesh has meted out to that other hero, parliamentarian Chadhury, who was imprisoned and tortured because he wanted to visit Israel).

Her works have been banned in Bangladesh. She is being accused of being “anti-Islam.”

Islamists are moving against us in the West very carefully and in legal ways. In the overly revered “Third World” they speak in violence, their speech IS violence.

I hope that Taslima Nasrin remains safe and in India. And that the sleeping giant awakens before we have all been sued and censored into silence.

Obituary: Common Sense

August 14th, 2007 by Steve

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were lost long ago in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn’t always fair, and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know my Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I’m a Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.
