Bible Archaeology Search and Exploration Institute.

Thursday, January 19th, 2006

If this guy is legitimate, he may be on the verge of discovering some very valuable Biblical evidence. He has researched Mount Sinai, The Ark of the Covenant, Noah’s Ark and Paul’s shipwreck.
Take a look at his site. Even if he’s not completely legitimate, his website does have interesting information.

The Bible Archaeology, Search & Exploration (B.A.S.E.) Institute is dedicated to the quest for archaeological evidence to help validate to the world that the Bible is true, and that it represents an accurate, non-fictional account of God’s will to bring the people of this world back into relationship with Him.
BASE Institute fulfills its mission by engaging in activities of research, exploration & public education, to present credible archaeological information that is sound in scholarship, but also interesting and motivational to the general public.

I am an investigator who uses the Bible as a literal guide, a compass if you will, to try to find lost biblical locations and artifacts. We at the BASE Institute have sought the best biblical and scholastic minds we have been privileged to know. We have a high regard for those with expertise; whether or not other scholars and biblical investigators agree with these experts is their prerogative.
I take full responsibility for any errors and always try to correct them according to further light from the Bible. For the record, we will not respond in kind to personal attacks and vendettas. This simply is not the way Christians should interact, especially regarding the Bible and its interpretation. We encourage our friends, supporters, and the curious to read on our website the information we have compiled and will continue to compile, and let them judge for themselves. Let honest presentation of a variety of views stand or fall on their own merits.
I stand by our work at the BASE Institute, and am convinced more than ever of the validity of the Bible’s testimony to historical, verifiable truth in every area – including the details of historical geography. I appreciate your continued support, and encourage you to read over our materials. Click our link below to visit our exciting new FAQ section!

France defends right to nuclear reply to terrorism

Thursday, January 19th, 2006

What’s This??? What’s This??? France is actually talking about taking on terrorist? Have they actually grown some courage? Did the cries of anger and frustration from the souls of the brave French men and women who have given their lives over the ages finally get through to them? Well, words are cheap…I guess we’ll have to wait and see what they really do.

France said on Thursday it would be ready to use nuclear weapons against any state that carried out a terrorist attack against it, reaffirming the need for its nuclear deterrent.
Deflecting criticism of France’s costly nuclear arms programme, President Jacques Chirac said security came at a price and France must be able to hit back hard at a hostile state’s centres of power and its “capacity to act”.
He said there was no change in France’s overall policy, which rules out the use of nuclear weapons in a military conflict. But his speech pointed to a change of emphasis to underline the growing threat France perceives from terrorism.
“The leaders of states who would use terrorist means against us, as well as those who would consider using in one way or another weapons of mass destruction, must understand that they would lay themselves open to a firm and adapted response on our part,” Chirac said during a visit to a nuclear submarine base in northwestern France.
“This response could be a conventional one. It could also be of a different kind.” Chirac, who is commander-in-chief of the armed forces, said all of France’s nuclear forces had been configured with the new strategy in mind and the number of nuclear warheads on French nuclear submarines had been reduced to allow targeted strikes.
It was the first time he had so clearly linked the threat of a nuclear response to a terrorist attack.
Chirac, 73, did not say whether France would be prepared to use pre-emptive strikes against a country it saw as a threat.

Study offers solutions for J’lem holy sites

Thursday, January 19th, 2006

I’m surprised the Israelis would propose this. With the international community being very anti-Jewish/anti-Israeli, I would think the last thing they would want to do is turn control of Temple Mount over to them.
Right now the islamafacist, who are squatting on Temple Mount, are working unhindered at erasing Jewish history from the area. Think how much easier it would be under international control.
Hey Israelis…here’s a hint:
You own Temple Mount and all of Jerusalem. Why don’t you use the troops and police, who are currently trying to remove your own people from their land, and send them up to Temple Mount to remove the islamic squatters and their illegal buildings (the dome thing and all their “mosque”)?
Just an idea.

Israel and the Palestinians should allow the international community to supervise Jerusalem’s Temple Mount and the city’s other holy sites, a study carried out by a liberal Jerusalem think tank and released Tuesday said. “The strong connection of members of all monotheistic religions to the city on the one hand, and the lack of trust between Israel and the Palestinian Authority on the other justifies some international intervention in overseeing the area, especially from the securitystandpoint and with regard to preserving the holy sites,” the study by the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies states.
The document, titled “Jerusalem’s Historic Basin – a Situation Report and Alternatives for a Solution,” offers five different solutions to the bitterly contested question of sovereignty over the city’s holysites. They include full Israeli control over the sites; full Palestinian sovereignty; territorial division of the basin between the two sides, with international supervision to help monitor and settle disputes; a distribution of powers in the basin between the two sides, with international backing or Authority over the historical basin; and entrusting the authority of the historical sites to an international body, which can delegate powers to both sides in certain aspects.
The study states that continued full Israeli sovereignty would be rejected the Palestinians and the international community, while Palestinian sovereignty would likewise be rejected by Israel.
The study’s researchers conclude that entrusting the authority of the historical sites to an international body is the preferable and the most realistic option provided that both sides can put their faith in an international body and in its ability to run the holy sites fairly.
The study, which was widely criticized by Israeli politicians on both the right and left, notes that both sides may in fact perceive international sovereignty on the Temple Mount as a desecration and try to fight such a plan.
Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski called the proposal an “irresponsible political and populist plan” which has been rehashed during an election campaign.
He said that it was simply unacceptable that the most holy site in Judaism would fall under international control.

China, Russia Urge Iran Nuke Negotiations

Thursday, January 19th, 2006

This is somewhat data information, but I wanted to post it anyway to show it in light of Biblical prophecy about the two nations who seem to be siding with Iran; Russia and China.

Pressure on Iran intensified Tuesday, with key European countries and the United States moving ahead with plans to refer Tehran to the U.N. Security Council and Israel vowing not to let the Iranians develop nuclear weapons.
But Russia and China _ Iran’s past backers _ urged negotiations instead of confrontation, casting doubt on whether next month’s International Atomic Energy Agency meeting will demonstrate a unified political will.
A meeting Monday in London produced no agreement among the United States, France, Britain and Germany and Moscow and Beijing on whether to refer the dispute over Iranian nuclear enrichment to the Security Council, which could impose sanctions.
Past opposition to such action by Russia and China led the Europeans and the United States to postpone referral.
Russia and China have joined Europe and the U.S. in criticizing Iran’s resumption of uranium enrichment. But both would prefer to avoid Security Council involvement and are outright opposed to sanctions.
A draft text by Britain proposing referral when the IAEA’s 35-nation board of directors meets Feb. 2 reflected deference to the Russians and Chinese, stopping short of calls for punitive measures.
Instead, the text, read in part to The Associated Press by a European diplomat accredited to the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency, urges the 15- nation council to press Tehran “to extend full and prompt cooperation to the agency” in its investigation of suspect nuclear activities.
It also asks the council to make clear “that additional transparency measures are indispensable” if Iran hopes to prove it does not want to make nuclear weapons.
The diplomat agreed to share the confidential information only on condition of anonymity.
The wording of the text is sure to change ahead of the IAEA meeting. Still, the fact that it was calling on the council to send Iran’s nuclear file back to the IAEA provided the latest indication the country could escape sanctions.

How does this fit in with end time prophecy?

Revelation 9:16 “And the number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.”

An army of that size had never existed until China’s army reached that number in the 1960’s.

Ezekiel 38:1-6 The word of the Lord came to me; Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; prophesy against him and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army – your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops – the many nations with you.’

The Hebrew word ‘rosh’ in verse 3 is identified with Russia, ‘Tubal’ with Tiblisi or Tobolsk and ‘Meshech’ with Moscow, therefore Gog and Magog refers to Russia. This is one of the most commonly held views and is based on a different interpretation of the Hebrew word Rosh (used as a noun rather than adjective), similarities in the pronunciation of words, and the Greek translation of Rosh referring to a tribe of people found in what is now Russia.
The ancient Persian Empire was centered in the nation known today as Iran. Iran was called Persia until 1935 when it was changed to Iran and then to the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979 during the Iranian Revolution.

As we watch events unfold in the Middle East, keep these thoughts in mind.

Groups Say Golden Globes Presented Hollywood’s Hyped Version of Homosexuality

Thursday, January 19th, 2006

Hollywood just doesn’t get it. They are loosing money hand over fist, but continue to push the homosexual agenda to a country that just isn’t interested. Get a clue hollywood.

(AgapePress) – A prominent pro-family organization and a leading “ex-gay” ministry are highlighting the highly hyped and politicized atmosphere of Monday night’s Golden Globes award ceremony, at which the pro-homosexual film Brokeback Mountain was a clear victor.
Winning four Golden Globe Awards, the film about homosexual sheepherders who hide their affair for decades held the spotlight for much of the evening, while other homosexual- and transgender-themed films also received accolades.
The Golden Globes honored Brokeback Mountain with the best drama, best director, best song and best screenplay awards. Meanwhile, Desperate Housewives co-star Felicity Huffman won best actress honors for her role as a pre-operative male-to-female transsexual in the gender-bending road trip movie Transamerica. And Philip Seymour Hoffman won best actor for his portrayal of homosexual writer Truman Capote, author of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and In Cold Blood, in the film Capote.
Concerned Women for America (CWA), the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization, is calling attention to the way these and several other winners at this year’s Golden Globes are playing into a massive public relations campaign that is even now seeking to pave the way for the spread of liberal ideology, including the further mainstreaming and public acceptance of homosexuality. The pro-family organization contends that, except for the Johnny Cash bio-pic Walk the Line and the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, the evening’s Golden Globe winners were all characterized by decidedly leftist viewpoints.
Examples include Mary Louise Parker, whose character sells pot to pay her bills in the film Weeds; and George Clooney, who won best supporting actor for his role in the film Syriana, which some conservative critics have described as politically correct and “subliminally” anti-American. Dr. Janice Crouse, senior fellow at Concerned Women for America’s Beverly LaHaye Institute, feels the recent awards show suggests that Leftist Hollywood is even more concerned with pushing its liberal agenda than it is with the “bottom line” of the entertainment business.
“Once again,” Crouse observes, “the media elites are proving that their pet projects are more important than profit.” She goes on to note that “none of the three [Golden Globe Award-winning] movies — Capote, Transamerica, or Brokeback Mountain, is a box office hit.” In fact, the CWA spokeswoman says, “Brokeback Mountain has barely topped $25 million in ticket sales. While it has recouped all the production costs, it is doubtful that receipts have covered the massive PR costs.”
Exodus International president Alan Chambers, a former homosexual, says the Golden Globe Awards was deliberately pushing the envelope with the nomination of controversial new films that center around the issues of homosexuality and transsexuality. But ultimately, he insists, Hollywood’s one-sided portrayal of homosexual life is damaging and hurtful.
Chambers says while some of the themes in the homosexual themed films that dominated the Golden Globe Awards explore the unhappiness, pain, promiscuity of the homosexual lifestyle, their overarching premise sends the wrong message to Americans about culture and sexuality.
“Hundreds of thousands of men and women have rejected the notion that life must be dominated by our unwanted same-sex attractions and have found a way out of homosexuality through Jesus Christ,” he asserts.”
Exodus International is the largest network of former homosexuals in the world. “Our desire,” Chambers notes, “is to empower others with more information and offer the same hope for change that has brought life and freedom to us.”
