“ON 9/11: TERRORISM IS ALIVE AND WELL” by Fern Sidman

Monday, September 11th, 2006

As the world stops to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, it appears that the war on terror has only just begun.

According to a JTA news release of 9/11/06, it would appear that Al Qaida is still planning attacks on the USA. The report states that “On the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, Al-Qaida urged Muslims to attack Israel. In a statement aired Monday by CNN, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden’s deputy, warned the West that it would suffer further attacks by Islamic terrorists. “You gave us every legitimacy and every opportunity to continue fighting you,” he said. “You should worry about your presence in the Gulf, and the second place you should worry about is Israel.”
In remarks that attested to the fact that the statement was recent, Zawahiri lambasted the United States for supplying Israel with weapons and urged the Muslim world to “rush with everything at its disposal to the aid of its Muslim brothers in Lebanon and Gaza.”

On the Iranian front, The Jerusalem Post of 9/10/06 reports that, “Iran maintained its refusal Sunday to suspend uranium enrichment as the Europeans gave signs that they might be willing to open talks first if Teheran would commit to a freeze soon after the start of negotiations. “The issue of suspension is a thing of the past. We won’t return to the past,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi told a press conference in Teheran.

It is clear that the Iranian government does not fear the threat of international sanctions and is planning to fully implement their uranium enrichment program, thereby creating a nuclear arsenal which threatens the very existence of Israel and the Western world. According to a report from the Israel Today web site, 9/11/06, the head of military intelligence Maj. General Amos Yadlin, warned that “international sanctions would not stop Iran from developing their nuclear program. Iran is showing great confidence and is continuing to enrich uranium. They are stalling for time, and now they want to continue with the research”, Yadlin said. “We assess that the international pressure must be increased, but the pressure and the sanctions will not stop them.”

Today, former Iranian President Mohammed Khatami spoke at Harvard University. While condemning the 9/11 attacks on the United States, he expressed his full support for Hezbollah in their battle against Israeli “colonization”. According to a JTA report of 9/11/06, “He also mounted a defense for his successor, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has stirred international controversy by calling the Holocaust a ‘myth’ and set up a cartoon competition and academic conference dedicated to those who question the extent of the Nazi genocide. I personally believe that he really didn’t deny the existence of the Holocaust”, said Khatami.

If this kind of blather wasn’t enough for one day, Israel Today (9/11/06) also reported that, “Head of Military Intelligence Maj. General Amos Yadlin told the Israeli cabinet that Iran is expected to give between $150 million to $180 million to Hizballah to rebuild Lebanese homes bombed by Israel during the war. He also said that Syria is looking into creating a Hizballah-like guerilla organization to fight Israel on the Golan Heights. Yadlin said in the meeting that Hizballah is currently looking for new ways of resistance such as using the Palestinians to open multiple fronts, a move which was unsuccessful during the war.”

Hezbollah can now continue to appear as a hero to the Lebanese people by bankrolling the rebuilding of their homes and providing a wide variety of social services. It is also clear that Iran is financing the military buildup of Hezbollah forces to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. Now that Syria has announced the formation of its own Hezbollah like terrorist organization, there is no doubt that the terrorism will escalate exponentially.

On another front, it was also reported in Arutz Sheva (9/11/06) that the warring factions of Hamas and Fatah have come to an agreement to settle their disputes and create a national unity government. According to the Arutz Sheva report, Abu Abbas of Fatah and Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas have agreed to form a unity government hoping that the international political boycott of Hamas will be removed. The report states, “The two Arab leaders announced in Gaza this afternoon (Monday) that they had agreed on guidelines for the new Palestinian Authority government.

Abbas’ Fatah party was trounced by Hamas in elections earlier this year. He said that the new government’s diplomatic plan is based on the Prisoners’ Document – a paper drawn up this past May by several leading terrorists imprisoned in Israel. Among those who formulated the document were Fatah’s Marwan Barghouti, who is serving five life sentences for murdering Israelis, Abdel Halik Al-Natsheh of Hamas, and Islamic Jihad’s Bassam Al- Saadi.

The original goal of the document was to restore coordination between the PLO (Fatah) and Hamas, without granting recognition to Israel. The document calls for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, without withdrawing claims to the area known as pre-1967 Israel, within the Green Line.

The so-called “right of return” for millions of Arabs to Israel is emphasized five times in the paper, and the PLO’s stage-by-stage policy is also reaffirmed.

Significantly, the Prisoners’ Document encourages further terrorism – in violation of the Road Map plan’s fundamental demands – by calling for the “widening the circles of resistance” and for the “release of all [terrorist] prisoners” held by Israel “by all means.” Support of “those who bore the burden of resistance, in particular the martyrs’ families” – i.e., suicide bombers and their relatives – is encouraged.”

At least Hamas is open, honest and forthright about their intentions. They always have been. So much for those who believed that Abu Abbas (Abu Mazen) was dedicated to furthering peace. So much for Prime Minister Olmert’s attempts to include Abbas in his convergence-realignment plan. So much for those in the Bush administration who attempted to present Abbas as “the voice of reason” within the PA camp. Mr. Abbas’ ties to terrorism go back all the way to 1972 when he was a finance officer for the group called Black September which was responsible to the murder of eleven Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympic Games.

Let us face facts. Terrorism is alive and well. It is a burgeoning movement within the Islamic Fascist world. The historical background of this movement deserves closer examination. Al Qaida terrorist activities did not begin yesterday or the day before or even on September 11, 2001. It did not even begin in February of 1993 when terrorists bombed the World Trade Center.

The first evidence of Al Qaida terrorism manifested itself on the evening of November 5, 1990 in New York City when Egyptian born Al Qaida terrorist and operative El Sayyid Nosair murdered Rabbi Meir Kahane, ZTK”L. Within hours after the assassination, the New York City police department labeled this horrific crime as a routine homicide, without even investigating the suspect.

According to an article by Seamus McGraw on the Court TV web site, crimelibrary.com, it states, “As authorities would later discover, the bullets fired from Nosair’s gun were the opening salvo in a war, a war waged by Islamic extremists against America and its interests. Within three years of the Kahane shooting, a group of men closely linked to Nosair, men led by the blind Sheik Omar Ahmad Abdul Rahman, would launch the first attack on the World Trade Center, setting off a deadly bomb in the basement of the towering building. Later, members of the cabal would be accused of planning a reign of terror against New York, plans that included attacks on the city’s bridges and tunnels. And a few years after that, a handful of terrorists, under orders from Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda network, a network that counted some of Nosair’s allies among its members, would ultimately topple those towers, and attack the Pentagon.”

And now it would appear that New York City Police Department detective John Molelli has broken his silence concerning his investigation into the crime. According to Arutz Sheva (9/11/06) Detective John Molelli was the first one “to find and examine the papers in Nosair’s rented house in Cliffside, New Jersey. Molleli found and closely examined boxes of notebooks and other papers written in Arabic, complete with diagrams that revealed the existence of a terrorist cell operating in the New Jersey – New York area. The papers included plans to attack a number of targets in New York City, including the World Trade Center. Police found photos of the Twin Towers, the Empire State Building and the Washington Monument. They found manuals on how to make bombs. They also found written materials promoting terror attacks on American soil. He broke his silence about the evidence he found and its link to the World Trade Center attacks this year, the fifth since the Twin Towers were completely destroyed in a terror attack that rocked the world.”

The report goes on to say that, “The evidence was quickly removed to the offices of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and was largely ignored until the 1993 terror attack on the Twin Towers. Six people died and 100 were injured in the bombing. In the wake of the attack, the boxes that Molelli had discovered in Nosair’s rented house and which had been confiscated by the FBI were finally opened and closely examined, and the Arabic was translated. Nosair was later convicted as a co-conspirator of Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman for the 1993 bombing, as well as conspiracy to attack New York landmarks and assassinate U.S. politicians. Both men were sentenced to life in prison without parole, plus 15 years. It was only after that trial that Nosair was also convicted of murdering Kahane as part of the “seditious conspiracy.” Nosair continued to manage the affairs of the al-Qaeda terror cell that continued to operate in the U.S. and on September 11, 2001 succeeded in completing the job it attempted in 1993 — the destruction of the World Trade Center.”

It is clear that US authorities never really made an effort to investigate the murder of Rabbi Kahane. It is clear that the New York DA who prosecuted this case made no effort at uncovering facts that could have lead to Nosair’s conviction on murder charges. The murder of Rabbi Kahane was of no importance to authorities. It is also clear that the negligence displayed by the NYPD, the FBI and other investigatory agencies in thoroughly investigating and prosecuting this case directly lead to further terrorist attacks, culminating in the 9/11/01 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Thousands of lives could have been spared if the US government made a concerted effort to get to the bottom of this heinous conspiracy, rather than immediately sweeping it under the rug.

Terrorism is indeed alive and well. At this moment in time, the world mourns for the victims of 9/11. It is a date that will live in infamy, a date that has signified a drastic change in the world in which we live. We mourn for all victims of Islamic terrorism. As Jews, we know we are the major targets of terrorism, we always have been and will be. It is time to acknowledge that our fate and destiny is not in the hands of the savage and ruthless terrorist organizations who threaten our annihiliation. Our fate is in the hands of our Creator, the Almighty G-d of Israel. We must never fall victim to the fear that terrorists seek to place in our hearts. We are a people who acknowledges and fears only the Master of the Universe. Through our faith and trust in G-d, we know it is He, and He alone who has the power to eradicate our enemies.

Let us remember and recite the words that we utter after our daily prayers. “Do not fear terror that comes suddenly, nor the holocaust of the wicked when it comes. Plan a conspiracy and it will be annulled, speak your speech and it will not stand, for with us is G-d.”

Five years after 9/11, the ACLU considers Christians the terrorists

Monday, September 11th, 2006

Joe Cook has long since apologized for what he said last summer.
Although he is director of the Louisiana chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, and strenuously opposed to anything resembling prayer in public schools or God in public life, he says he wasn’t speaking for the ACLU – or, curiously, even for himself – when he said what he said.
He said it about some teachers, students, and school board members in Tangipahoa Parish who, on infrequent occasions, have offered public, “sectarian” prayers in their classrooms, at school banquets, or to open board meetings.
“They [the Christians] have always crossed the line of separation of church and government,” Cook said. “They believe they answer to a higher power, in my opinion… which is the kind of thinking you had with the people who flew airplanes in the buildings in this country.”

-snip-

Taken at face value, Cook’s statement equates a teacher praying for, say, a student’s ailing mother, or her pupils’ performance on a standardized test, with the determination of radical Muslim terrorists to destroy as many innocent lives as possible. A child saying grace over lunch or a teen praying for the team’s injured player is really no different from a terrorist praising Allah for the privilege of slitting a flight attendant’s throat.
Because, Cook said, people who really believe in God are often the people who find fulfillment in destroying other people.
No, no, no, he says, now. That’s not what he meant.
“Our message in the Tangipahoa schools case and elsewhere is simple,” he says. “Religious freedom thrives best when government stays out of religion.”
But, of course, what the ACLU really wants is for religion to stay out of government.

“ABC’s Vast, Right Wing Conspiracy to Help Republicans Exposed!” by Jack Kinsella

Monday, September 11th, 2006

Evidently, a new ABC miniseries called ‘The Path to 9/11’ has the Democrats fighting mad. It is worth noting that if the Democrats were as willing to fight the war on terror as they are for their reputation as fierce warriors, Iraq would be a tourist destination by now.
The other day, Democrat Gary Hart (who hadn’t seen the movie) went on “The O’Reilly Factor” to set the record straight, indignantly telling Bill O’Reilly that he ‘warned’ the Bush administration of an impending al-Qaeda attack.
Hart went on to say that his report was backed up by Sandy Berger, William Cohen and Madeline Allbright. When O’Reilly took the bait and asked when, Hart shot back, “On January 31, 2001.”

-snip-

Let’s climb into the WayBack Machine to January 31st, 2001.
Instead of the traditional 73 day ‘transition period’ the Bush White House had a ridiculously short five weeks – the shortest transition period of any elected president in American history. On January 31st, the Bush administration was in total disarray.
The fax machines had been packed with pornographic pictures, computers had been sabotaged, the ‘W’s’ had been removed from White House keyboards, the phone systems were sabotaged, desk drawers were super-glued shut, etc.
Historical revisionists claim the vandalism reports were invented by the Bush administration. But the GAO issued an official report that the damage included 62 missing computer keyboards, 26 cell phones, two cameras, ten antique doorknobs and several presidential medallions and office signs. The damage estimate was about $20,000.
(The GAO had the same civil service staff working for it during both administrations, rendering charges of a GOP partisan cover-up implausible at best.)
The Dems are upset because the miniseries portrays the Clinton administration as too distracted by the Lewinsky scandal to pay adequate attention to the threat posed by al-Qaeda. Well, wasn’t he? And if not, then what WAS the reason for doing nothing? And if they DID do something, perhaps someone would be able to point out what it was? (Besides blowing up an empty Sudanese factory and sending million dollar Cruise missiles to blow up empty $10 tents in Afghanistan, that is.)
Gary Hart’s ‘defense’ on O’Reilly was really an indictment. The logic of Hart’s argument eludes me, if there is any to be found there. If the Clinton administration officials he cited were so certain of an impending al-Qaeda attack by January 31st that it merited immediate action by an eleven day old Bush administration, did they reach that conclusion over the space of that eleven days? Or did they know before and do nothing?
At the same time, they find no conflict in the argument that the Bush administration bears 100% of the responsibility for a problem that existed for eight years prior to his election. The hypocrisy is staggering!
The folks complaining about the ABC miniseries’ supposed ‘inaccuracies’ are the same folks that lined up two deep to go see Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 911.” Moore’s alleged ‘documentary’ became a legend – not for its facts, but rather for how breathtakingly inaccurate it was in almost every respect.
Sandy Berger, one of the loudest objectors to the film’s accuracy, (who hadn’t seen the movie) claims that the movie doesn’t tell ‘the truth’ about his tenure in the White House. Berger was arrested (and convicted) of stealing classified documents relevant to the administration’s efforts against bin-Laden that he was ostensibly gathering for the 9/11 Commission investigation.
The documents were never recovered. Berger claimed he ‘lost’ them. THAT’s a guy I trust for telling the truth.
Bill Clinton (who hadn’t seen the movie) dismissed it as ‘indisputably wrong.’ There’s another guy I trust to tell me the truth about something, even if the truth would make him look bad.
The State of Arkansas disbarred him for lying under oath about Paula Jones. He was hauled before a Senate impeachment hearing for lying to a federal grand jury about Monica Lewinsky.

“THE ABANDONMENT OF OUR BROTHERS” by Fern Sidman

Monday, September 11th, 2006

Now that the recent decision has been made to lift the Israeli naval blockade of Lebanon, we can only interpret this move as the final nail in the coffin in the already moribund Israeli strategy concerning the release of the three Israeli kidnapped soldiers. As of now, Hamas and Hezbollah have not released any signs of life from Gilad Shalit, Edud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev. If these men are alive, the Israeli government has virtually abandoned them.

It is yet the latest phase in the otherwise abysmally impotent and incompetent policy of the Olmert administration. As we know, the Olmert government failed to formulate a successful military strategy in Lebanon, thereby achieving none of its stated objectives, leaving Israel in the wake of its worst military defeat since the creation of the state. Throughout the war, the Olmert government was riddled with hesitation, confusion and internal strife. More to the point, this military defeat places Israel in even greater danger in the future. Hezbollah and Hamas now can carry on further kidnappings of Israeli soldiers with impunity, while developing the military strength to do even greater damage to Israel. If this time around, the city of Tel Aviv was not the recipient of Katyusha rocket attacks, there is a greater possibility that down the road, more deadly and lethal military hardware will be developed that will indeed wreak great havoc, destruction and devastation. It is only a matter of time.

It is no wonder that there are calls for the immediate resignation of the entire Olmert government. If there has been any unifying factor in Israel as of late, it has been calls from both the far left and right for the Olmert government to resign. Seems like the only one satisfied with Olmert’s performance during the war is none other than Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, who stated, “If we have to choose between a foolish prime minister and another who is strong and capable, we prefer that the fool remain,” he told Lebanese Al-Safir newspaper Tuesday. Nasrallah made the comments when asked about the prime minister’s recent claims – themselves based on Nasrallah’s statements – that Israel had won the war. (Arutz Sheva – 9/7/06)

Last night in Tel Aviv over 40,000 Israelis protested against the Olmert government, demanding the formation of a state commission of inquiry of improprieties during the war. This protest was organized by Israeli army reservists who have been continually keeping a political fire under the Olmert government since the cease fire had been announced. They were joined in the outcry against the government by retired Meretz Party chairman Yossi Sarid, senior reserve officers and relatives of soldiers who fell during the war.

Under the banner Movement for Quality Government (MQG), the group is calling for a state commission to examine the government’s actions, while the reservists have been calling for the resignation of the top government officials for their management of the recent war in Lebanon.

According to an Arutz Sheva report of the protest, Eliad Shraga, chairman of the MQG stated, “The Prime Minister must open his eyes and realize that a state commission of inquiry is needed.”

Also speaking at the protest were former Defense Minister Moshe Arens of the Likud, retired Meretz Party chairman Yossi Sarid, senior reserves officers and relatives of soldiers who fell during the war.

“It is unacceptable that those under investigation appoint the investigators,” Arens told the crowd. “Only a state commission of inquiry will examine in a thorough manner the decision of the government in the last war in Lebanon. Never have there been such confusing and contradictory orders issued in the handling of a war.”

“If we continue to remain silent, we will be hit with another bomb,” Movement For Quality Government spokesman Shuki Levanon said. He added that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert had been invited to the protest, “to declare from this podium that he has heard the will of the people and will establish a state commission – but the chicken didn’t even answer.”

Just last week, in the same location in Tel Aviv, hundreds of thousands of Israelis demanded that the Olmert government secure the release of the three kidnapped soldiers, yet this cry of anguish has fallen on deaf ears. Within days of the protest, the government of Israel issued the order the lift the naval blockade of Lebanon. The government has thus far made no viable attempts to ensure the safe release of the kidnapped soldiers.

It is a government that has abandoned its people and its brothers. It is a government that is immersed in internal corruption, conflict and scandal. It is a government that suffers from a terminal case of inexhaustable loquaciousness, yet takes no actions in protecting its citizens or soldiers.

The demand for the resignation of the Olmert government has also been spotlighted in the Israeli media and the pressure is mounting at a rapid pace. It is time for the world Jewish community to weigh in on this most critical issue. We are a nation without real leadership, during a time when real and authentic leaders are so desperately needed. Leaders who will display the strength and fortitude it takes to devise a concrete plan to bring our kidnapped soldiers home and to deal with terrorism on both fronts with swift and decisive measures. We need leaders who can and will elevate a nation from its collective despair and loss of morale.

Silence on the part of world Jewry at this moment of paramount importance in the history of the Jewish nation is totally unacceptable and is equivalent to blatant apathy and indifference.
While anti-Semitism has reached epidemic proportions throughout the world, since the beginning of the war, particularly in England and Australia, it does not behoove the international Jewish community to remain silent. We are living in precarious times, times that do not bode well for the State of Israel and the Jews worldwide.

The time has come to realize that world Jewry must summon up the strength and courage to seize this moment while it still can. It is time to demand that the leadership of Israel be placed in the hands of those whose platform is the belief in the Almighty G-d of Israel and scrupulous adherence to Torah principles. Without Torah leadership, we are left with a leadership vacuum that can only lead to more destruction and deadly consequences for the future of Israel and the Jewish people.

As we approach the 16th yahrzeit of Rabbi Meir Kahane, ZTK”L let us take this time to remember his words of wisdom, vision and foresight. It was Rabbi Kahane who said, “The obligation to listen to, obey and respect the authority of government rests upon whether that government, in a particular case, is itself obeying the Torah, the need of the people”. (Israel: Revolution or Referendum?, 1990, p.95)

It was Rabbi Kahane who also said, “No government, including the Israeli one, has any right to protest when – because of its failure to carry out its elementary duty to protect its citizens – individual Jews, who fear for their lives and future, rise up and act in self defense”. (Israel: Revolution or Referendum?, 1990, p.118)

It is time to heed these words. In this month of Elul, we must seek to become closer to our Creator, to beseech Him to allow us to return to His holy Torah. It is a time to immerse ourselves in fervent prayer, to examine our deeds and misdeeds and to rectify them.It is time to reach out to our brothers in kindness and compassion. It is time to speak out against those in leadership who cannot and will not lead. It is time to demand a return to G-d. This is our only path to salvation as a people and as a nation. Our date of redemption is coming closer as we are in the midst of “Chevlei Moshiach”, the birth pangs of our holy Redeemer. Our future is inextricably tied to our efforts to infuse ourselves and our leadership with true Torah values.

May we always remember the words of the sweet singer of Israel, King David who said, “Teach me the way, Oh G-d, that I may walk in Your Truth”. (Psalms)

9/11/2001 – Let Us Never Forget

Monday, September 11th, 2006

In Memory of the 2,996 innocent victims who died on September 11th, 2001, as the United States suffered the worse attack since Pearl Harbor in 1941.
Join me in remembering these good people; normal, everyday people like you and me, only interested in making a life for themselves. Join me in celebrating their lives.
Remember who attacked us. Don’t ever forget who this evil enemy is.
Pray for the families of these innocent victims. Pray for our military and all those who stand in the way of another attack.
Remember. Never Forget.

Sunrise

The lives of 2,996 innocent mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, wives and husbands, ended to bring a smile to the face of Muslim Terrorist. Families, forever broken and destroyed, to a shout of “Allahu Akbar” (Arabic for ‘God is Great’) as 19 Islamic terrorist changed the face of the earth.

Twin Towers Hit

Fire fighters, police officers, public servants from many different departments, martyred, but not to a hateful cry of “Jihad” as came from an Islamic terrorist’s mouth, but martyred as they responded unselfishly, with little regards to their own safety, to the cry for help. Heroes, each and every one of them.

Twin Towers Fallen

No, don’t ever forget these 2,996 innocent victims, or the Islamic terrorist who killed them in cold blood, in the name of their prophet, in the name of Jihad, in the name of Islam, in the name of hate. No, don’t ever forget.
