Terrorists – Coming to a School Near You

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

It’s so sad that we even have to contemplate this possibility, but the facts of the Beslan Massacre in 2004 cannot be ignored.
What I, and many other bloggers, have tried to drill into everyone’s heads, is that Islam holds nothing sacred but their prophet. Children are only tools to be used to destroy the infidels (all the rest of us) or as tools to be used to hurt and shock the infidels, by killing our children in terrorist attacks.
Muslims do not value life. They are a death cult and honor only violence, death and destruction. Muslims believe they will be rewarded in heaven (by having at their beck and call, 72 perpetual virgins, to have sex with) if they can only kill lots of infidels. This is doctrine straight from their Koran (holy book).
What a terrible thought, that our children are at risk. Most schools, if there is a police presence at all, are limited to one or two offices armed with hand guns. Make no mistake; the terrorist will be very well armed and organized. The death and destruction to our children will be terrible and may make Beslan look mild compared to what we will experience.
The Muslim threat to this country is very real, despite what the Muslim mouth pieces in the media say. Neither Democrat or Republican, President or Presidential Hopeful, Senator or Representative, has any clue how to secure our borders and protect us from this type of threat.
I can only pray that somehow, our children will be protected, and WHEN this event happens, that the death toll will be slight, although in my opinion, any preventable death is one too many.

Authorities fear the school massacre that shook Russia a few years ago may be a dress rehearsal for what al-Qaida plans to do in America – only on a grander scale, launching multiple school attacks simultaneously across the country.

In 2004, Chechen terrorists associated with al-Qaida seized a school building in Beslan, Russia, and slaughtered 338, including 172 children.

Three years later, schools and local police in this country are still unprepared to deal with such an assault, experts warn. Most don’t have response plans for handling a single active shooter, let alone a cell of trained terrorists launching a large-scale attack.

Yet terror cells secreted inside America may be planning to use buses, as well as other vehicles and methods, as a Trojan horse to infiltrate school campuses and massacre students and teachers.

The FBI and Homeland Security Department last month distributed a bulletin to law enforcement across the country warning that Muslims with “ties to extremist groups” are signing up to be school bus drivers. They also noted “recent suspicious activity” by foreigners who either drive school buses or are licensed to drive them.

“The enemy is infiltrating us at all levels, and certainly school bus drivers are one area to look at,” warned retired Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, president of Killology Research Group, an anti-terror consultancy that trains the FBI and other law enforcement. “And how about high school, middle school and elementary school cafeteria workers? Janitors? Delivery people?”

Grossman says some school district security officials he works with have expressed concerns about some of the Muslim employees schools are hiring.

“But no one dares profile them,” he told WND.

“Islamic terrorists are already in place in the U.S. and, yes, that includes bus drivers, cafeteria workers and also airport workers,” added Grossman, a former Army Ranger and West Point professor.

Floor plans for schools in Virginia, Texas and New Jersey have been recovered from terrorist hands in Iraq, he notes. Videotapes confiscated in Afghanistan show al-Qaida terrorists practicing the takeover of a school.

Simultaneous attacks on schools in multiple states would follow Osama bin Laden’s goal of crippling the U.S. economy. If multiple schools were hit, Grossman says, parents would drop out of the work force en masse to protect their children. A prolonged labor disruption would cost businesses billions of dollars in lost revenue.

The 9/11 mastermind now in custody at Gitmo recently suggested al-Qaida may be targeting school children. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed said in his confession before a military tribunal that while he may not like killing kids, they’re fair game in jihad. He claims U.S. forces bombed and killed the children of bin Laden’s top deputy, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, and arrested and “abused” his own children.

According to the Middle East Media Research Institute, an al-Qaida spokesman has claimed Muslims have the right to kill up to 2 million American children in retaliation for Muslim children killed in Muslim lands.

“Osama bin Laden has promised that what has happened in (Beslan) Russia will happen to us many times over,” Grossman said. “And Osama tries very hard never to lie to us.”

Experts say terrorist cells are aided by many facilitators inside American cities who canvass targets and perform other logistics for such attacks.

“They are in the U.S., in all aspects of life, including the schools – and not just as bus drivers,” Grossman said. “And American school children may pay the price,” if schools and local law enforcement fail to implement counterterror plans.

Recent events come on top of several other school bus-related incidents involving Mideast men that raise suspicion of terror activity.

They include last year’s surprise boarding of a school bus in Tampa, Fla., by two Saudi men dressed in trench coats. Authorities suspect they were making a dry run to see how easy it would be to hijack or blow up a school bus filled with innocent American students.

Previously, an Arab man from Detroit was caught trying to obtain a job as a school bus driver in New York using fake Social Security documents.

Experts also worry about terrorists operating independently of al-Qaida. “There are many lone wolves and self-starters out there who could attack at any time,” Grossman warned.

Muslim gunman Sulejman Talovic was loaded for bear in February when he opened fire on shoppers in a Salt Lake City mall. He was armed with a shotgun, a .38 pistol and a backpack full of ammunition. He killed five and would have kept killing if an alert off-duty police officer hadn’t returned fire and helped stop him.

If the 18-year-old Bosnian immigrant had targeted his old high school in a similar rampage, the number of body bags would have been horrific, experts say. Such a scenario is local law enforcement’s worst nightmare, because school resource officers, or SROs, are ill-equipped to handle such assaults.

Homeland security consultants recommend arming all SROs and training them in SWAT tactics to repel such attackers.

“The time may come when that one cop will have to keep several adults at bay, preventing them from prosecuting their assault plan on our kids until support arrives,” said John Giduck, president of Archangel Group, an antiterror training service.

Recent attacks on children in schools in Athens, Ga., Bailey, Co., Red Lake, Minn., and Nickel Mines, Penn., occurred in the absence of armed SROs.

“We can’t think that Columbine will be the worst tactical circumstances our SROs will face,” warned Giduck, author of “Terror at Beslan: A Russian Tragedy with Lessons for America’s Schools.”

Psalm 119:121-128 (New International Version)

ע Ayin

121 I have done what is righteous and just;
do not leave me to my oppressors.

122 Ensure your servant’s well-being;
let not the arrogant oppress me.

123 My eyes fail, looking for your salvation,
looking for your righteous promise.

124 Deal with your servant according to your love
and teach me your decrees.

125 I am your servant; give me discernment
that I may understand your statutes.

126 It is time for you to act, O LORD;
your law is being broken.

127 Because I love your commands
more than gold, more than pure gold,

128 and because I consider all your precepts right,
I hate every wrong path.

Exodus Chapter 12 – The Passover

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

We wish our Jewish friends and neighbors a most blessed Passover Holiday. Our prayers continue to be with them, that G-d will bless them and keep them safe during this very special time.

Exodus Chapter 12 – The Passover

1 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, 2 “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. 3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb [a] for his family, one for each household. 4 If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat. 5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats. 6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight. 7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs. 8 That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast. 9 Do not eat the meat raw or cooked in water, but roast it over the fire—head, legs and inner parts. 10 Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it. 11 This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the LORD’s Passover.

12 “On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn—both men and animals—and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD. 13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.

14 “This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD -a lasting ordinance. 15 For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast. On the first day remove the yeast from your houses, for whoever eats anything with yeast in it from the first day through the seventh must be cut off from Israel. 16 On the first day hold a sacred assembly, and another one on the seventh day. Do no work at all on these days, except to prepare food for everyone to eat—that is all you may do.

17 “Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread, because it was on this very day that I brought your divisions out of Egypt. Celebrate this day as a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. 18 In the first month you are to eat bread made without yeast, from the evening of the fourteenth day until the evening of the twenty-first day. 19 For seven days no yeast is to be found in your houses. And whoever eats anything with yeast in it must be cut off from the community of Israel, whether he is an alien or native-born. 20 Eat nothing made with yeast. Wherever you live, you must eat unleavened bread.”

21 Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Go at once and select the animals for your families and slaughter the Passover lamb. 22 Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood on the top and on both sides of the doorframe. Not one of you shall go out the door of his house until morning. 23 When the LORD goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.

24 “Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance for you and your descendants. 25 When you enter the land that the LORD will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony. 26 And when your children ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean to you?’ 27 then tell them, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.’ ” Then the people bowed down and worshiped. 28 The Israelites did just what the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron.

29 At midnight the LORD struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well. 30 Pharaoh and all his officials and all the Egyptians got up during the night, and there was loud wailing in Egypt, for there was not a house without someone dead.

The Exodus
31 During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the LORD as you have requested. 32 Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me.”

33 The Egyptians urged the people to hurry and leave the country. “For otherwise,” they said, “we will all die!” 34 So the people took their dough before the yeast was added, and carried it on their shoulders in kneading troughs wrapped in clothing. 35 The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold and for clothing. 36 The LORD had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians.

37 The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Succoth. There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children. 38 Many other people went up with them, as well as large droves of livestock, both flocks and herds. 39 With the dough they had brought from Egypt, they baked cakes of unleavened bread. The dough was without yeast because they had been driven out of Egypt and did not have time to prepare food for themselves.

40 Now the length of time the Israelite people lived in Egypt [b] was 430 years. 41 At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the LORD’s divisions left Egypt. 42 Because the LORD kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt, on this night all the Israelites are to keep vigil to honor the LORD for the generations to come.

Passover Restrictions
43 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “These are the regulations for the Passover:
“No foreigner is to eat of it. 44 Any slave you have bought may eat of it after you have circumcised him, 45 but a temporary resident and a hired worker may not eat of it.

46 “It must be eaten inside one house; take none of the meat outside the house. Do not break any of the bones. 47 The whole community of Israel must celebrate it.

48 “An alien living among you who wants to celebrate the LORD’s Passover must have all the males in his household circumcised; then he may take part like one born in the land. No uncircumcised male may eat of it. 49 The same law applies to the native-born and to the alien living among you.”

50 All the Israelites did just what the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron. 51 And on that very day the LORD brought the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions.

Gideons Facing Charges for Being on Public Land

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

The Gideons have been handing out Bibles for years. They do not force nor coerce people to take them. They used to be protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. But in Florida, apparently people were absent the day they taught about the U.S. Constitution.

Two Florida men who wanted to give Bibles to children in their community are being charged under a state law that bans anyone from being within 500 feet of the land on which schools are built unless they have “legitimate business” or “prior authorization.”

As WND reported earlier, Anthony Mirto and Ernest Simpson of Monroe County were arrested, booked into jail and charged with trespassing because they were handing out Bibles while standing on a public sidewalk adjacent to a school.

Those trespassing charges were dismissed on a motion from lawyers for the Alliance Defense Fund, who challenged them on factual and constitutional grounds.

But Senior Legal Counsel David Cortman told WND he’d been notified that the two men now are being re-charged under a different statute, this one banning anyone from being on public property within 500 feet of a school property without “prior authorization” or “legitimate business.”

He said the law also includes an exemption for someone who lives within that distance from a school property.

“This obviously is unconstitutional for several reasons,” Cortman said. “The First Amendment gives you a right to be out there and engage in speech. Is anyone who uses the sidewalk or [the adjacent] highway now in violation?”

He said another issue is the definition of “legitimate business.” It’s not for the government to apply those words using one definition to one group of people, and then apply those words using another definition to another group of people, he said.

“The government is not allowed to have unbridled discretion to define words in whatever manner they choose,” he said.

On the face of the statute cited by the prosecutor, people driving by the school on the highway technically are in violation of the law, unless they have an exemption, and if the same exemption doesn’t apply to the two members of Gideons International, then that creates a content-based speech restriction, which also isn’t proper, Cortman said.

“The question I have is why is the state so intent on punishing these gentlemen for passing out Bibles on public property?” he asked. “This is just beyond comprehension.”

(U.K.) Teachers Drop Holocaust To Avoid Offending Muslims

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

The dhimmitude of the U.K. continues to reach new heights. Now to avoid possibly offending Muslims, teachers are dropping any mention of the Holocaust. I guess they feel it’s better to offend a Jew then a Muslim. Far be it to actually teach what actually happened in history. Much better (in their opinion) to make up “new” history.
I also wonder how long it will be before the Union Jack is retired, since it must really gall the Muslims to have to fly a flag made up of not just one, but three Christian Crosses (the crosses of St. George, St. Andrew and St. Patrick).

Schools are dropping the Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, a Governmentbacked study has revealed.

It found some teachers are reluctant to cover the atrocity for fear of upsetting students whose beliefs include Holocaust denial.

There is also resistance to tackling the 11th century Crusades – where Christians fought Muslim armies for control of Jerusalem – because lessons often contradict what is taught in local mosques.

The findings have prompted claims that some schools are using history ‘as a vehicle for promoting political correctness’.

The study, funded by the Department for Education and Skills, looked into ’emotive and controversial’ history teaching in primary and secondary schools.

It found some teachers are dropping courses covering the Holocaust at the earliest opportunity over fears Muslim pupils might express anti-Semitic and anti-Israel reactions in class.

The researchers gave the example of a secondary school in an unnamed northern city, which dropped the Holocaust as a subject for GCSE coursework.

The report said teachers feared confronting ‘anti-Semitic sentiment and Holocaust denial among some Muslim pupils’.

It added: “In another department, the Holocaust was taught despite anti-Semitic sentiment among some pupils.

“But the same department deliberately avoided teaching the Crusades at Key Stage 3 (11- to 14-year-olds) because their balanced treatment of the topic would have challenged what was taught in some local mosques.”

A third school found itself ‘strongly challenged by some Christian parents for their treatment of the Arab-Israeli conflict-and the history of the state of Israel that did not accord with the teachings of their denomination’.

The report concluded: “In particular settings, teachers of history are unwilling to challenge highly contentious or charged versions of history in which pupils are steeped at home, in their community or in a place of worship.”

Drill at NJ High School Features Mock ‘Christian Terrorists’

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

If I recall correctly, the ‘terrorists’ who have caused incidents like Columbine and many other school shootings were not Christians, but shot other students because they were Christians. Now Christians are being portrayed as terrorists. This drill was a ridiculous idea and should never have been allowed to proceed as it did. This is just another example of Christians being portrayed as extremists. I have a great idea, how about replacing the Christians in the drill with Muslims —doesnt that seem more realistic? Realsitic? Yes. Politically correct? Apparently not.

The head of a national, Texas-based pro-family group says a recent hostage drill at a New Jersey high school, which portrayed conservative Christians as terrorists, is reflective of a dangerous philosophy that has become prevalent in many parts of America, where it is having negative effects on education.

A local paper reports that a drill at Burlington Township High School in New Jersey involved police portraying mock gunmen, described as “members of a right-wing fundamentalist group called the ‘New Crusaders’ who don’t believe in the separation of church and state.” The fake gunmen were said to have been “seeking justice because the daughter of one [member] had been expelled for praying before class.”

Historian and constitutional expert David Barton is president of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization that distributes historical, legal, and statistical information and helps citizens become active in their local schools and communities. He says the stereotyping used in the New England high school’s drill is an accurate indicator of what is being taught in public schools in that region of the country.

“It’s been interesting to see the indoctrination that goes on,” Barton notes, “where we’ve had in the same region, even federal courts up in that same area, say it’s okay to start teaching second graders about homosexuality and homosexual ‘marriage.'”

Also, the author and historian observes, the common thinking prevalent in this region is “that, by the way, we do not have to notify parents that we’re going to indoctrinate kids because this is such an important societal value that all citizens need it.” But in fact, he asserts, such liberal indoctrination of students in religious and moral areas of thought has been shown to lead to some undesirable outcomes.

Reporter’s Diary Adds New Clue in 70-Year-Old Amelia Earhart Mystery

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

For many years, the disappearance of Amelia Earhart has fueled speculation and urban legends. Now, a reporters diary may hold additional clues to what happened to Earhart and her co-pilot.

It’s the coldest of cold cases, and yet it keeps warming to life. Seventy years after Amelia Earhart disappeared, clues are still turning up.

Long-dismissed notes taken of a shortwave distress call beginning, “This is Amelia Earhart …,” are getting another look.

The previously unknown diary of an Associated Press reporter reveals a new perspective.

A team that has already found aircraft parts and pieces of a woman’s shoe on a remote South Pacific atoll hopes to return there this year to search for more evidence, maybe even DNA.

If what’s known now had been conveyed to searchers then, might Earhart and her navigator have been found alive? It’s one of a thousand questions that keep the case from being declared dead, as Earhart herself was a year and a half after she vanished.

———-

Also listening in the Itasca’s radio room was James W. Carey, one of two reporters aboard. The 23-year-old University of Hawaii student had been hired by The Associated Press to cover Earhart’s Howland stopover. His job was to send brief radiograms to the AP in Honolulu and San Francisco.

But during the eight days since arriving at Howland, Carey also had been keeping a diary.

In small notebooks, he jotted down comments about the island’s “gooney birds,” beachcombing and poker games in Itasca’s wardroom. He also noted how Earhart’s delayed departure from Lae was affecting crewmembers’ morale, writing on June 30: “They are getting tired of waiting for a `gooney’ dame who doesn’t seem to be aware of the annoyance the delays have made.”

Carey’s diary was unknown to Earhart scholars until last September, when a typewritten copy turned up on eBay and was bought by a member of The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery, or TIGHAR. The non-profit organization believes Earhart and Noonan were not lost at sea, but landed on an uninhabited atoll called Gardner Island, and lived for an unknown period as castaways.

“Even though the diary doesn’t answer the big question, it’s an incredible discovery,” said TIGHAR executive director Ric Gillespie, who has led eight expeditions to the island since 1989, and plans another this July if his group can raise enough money.

“We have long had the transcripts of the radio traffic, but this is the first document that puts a real person aboard Itasca and tells us something from a firsthand witness about what went on during those desperate hours and days.”

———-

Seventy years later, the mystery lingers. Millions have been spent on expeditions and deep-sea probes, and although legally declared dead by a California court in early 1939, Earhart has been the subject of more than 50 nonfiction books.

“In 1937 she was a celebrity — today she’s an icon,” says Gillespie, of Wilmington, Del., whose own book, “Finding Amelia: The True Story of the Earhart Disappearance,” was published last year.

Theories have ranged from the official version — that the Electra ran out of gas and crashed at sea — to the absurd, including abduction by aliens, or Earhart living in New Jersey under an alias.

A 1943 Hollywood movie, “Flight for Freedom,” echoed groundless claims that the pair were on a secret government spying mission against the Japanese and were captured and executed. A 1999 book asserted, without proof, that “the solution to the Earhart mystery lies on the ocean floor under 17,000 feet of water.”

Gillespie’s book, along with “Amelia Earhart’s Shoes,” a 2001 book written by four other TIGHAR volunteers, offers a bold, reasoned thesis that Earhart and Noonan crash-landed on a flat reef on Gardner, in the Phoenix Islands, 350 miles south of Howland, and survived, perhaps for months, on scant food and rainwater.

Searches of the remote atoll, now called Nikumaroro, have produced a tantalizing, if inconclusive, body of evidence.

In 1940, Gerard Gallagher, a British overseer on Gardner, recovered a partial human skeleton, a woman’s shoe and an empty sextant box at what appeared to be a former campsite, littered with turtle, clamshell and bird remains.

Earhart being his first thought, Gallagher sent the items to Fiji, where a British doctor, examining the human bones secretly to avoid “unfounded rumors,” decided they belonged to a stocky European or mixed-blood male, ruling out any Earhart-Noonan connection.

The bones later vanished, but in 1998, TIGHAR investigators located the doctor’s notes in London.

Dr. Karen Ramey Burns, a forensic osteologist at the University of Georgia, found the Fiji doctor’s bone measurements were more “consistent with” a female of northern European descent, about Earhart’s age and height. Burns’ report was independently seconded by Dr. Richard Jantz, a University of Tennessee forensic anthropologist.

On their own visits to Gardner, TIGHAR teams recovered an aluminum panel that could be from an Electra, another piece of woman’s shoe and “Cat’s Paw” heel dating from the 1930s; another shoe heel, possibly a man’s, and an oddly cut piece of clear Plexiglas.

The sextant box might have been Noonan’s. The woman’s shoe and heel resemble a blucher-style oxford seen in a pre-takeoff photo of Earhart. The plastic shard is the exact thickness and curvature of an Electra’s side window.

The evidence is promising but, as Gillespie is careful to note, remains circumstantial. “We don’t have serial numbers,” he says.

Iranian President Applauds Suicide Bombers

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

Okay, if this doesn’t make people realize that Ahmadinejad is a nut, then nothing will.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad praised his country’s ability to recruit “hundreds of suicide bombers a day,” saying “suicide is an invincible weapon.”

Ahmadinejad made the comments during a visit to a site south Iran used to prepare suicide bombers during the Iraq-Iran war, Iranian state television reported.

He praised Hizbullah fighters for their suicidal spirit during last summer’s confrontation with Israel.

Iran recruited thousands of suicide bombers, many of whom were children, and sent them to the frontline to face Saddam Hussein’s army.

“Suicide bombers in this land showed us the way, and they enlighten our future,” he said.

The Iranian president said the will to commit suicide was “one of the best ways of life.”

Gay Cleric Spouts Lies to Radio Listeners

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

It’s very difficult to know where to start in pointing out the errors in this story. So, I guess it is best to start with the obvious. A homosexual should never be a leader in the church. Secondly, this former Bishop says that Jesus did not die for our sins, but so He could identify with our struggles. I am amazed daily at how satan uses people who are associated with God’s church (even though it is the liberal Church of England) to blind people to the Truth that is plainly stated in the Bible. No where in the Bible does it say that Christ died to identify with us! Jesus Christ died on the cross at Calvary so that we could live. His death paid the price so that we could live eternally with Him. He took all our sins upon Himself and substituted His perfect life for our sinful lives because He loves us so much. Any other explanation of Jesus’ death is preposterous. Make no mistake, this former Bishop is NOT a man of God, in fact, quite the opposite!

Church of England traditionalists, wearied by the battles over homosexuality in the church and the clergy, are about to take it on their spiritual chins once again when a leading “gay” cleric will tell listeners to BBC Radio 4 that Christianity’s traditional teaching on Christ’s crucifixion for the sins of mankind is “repulsive,” “insane” and makes “God sound like a psychopath.”

Rev. Jeffrey John, who was forced to withdraw before assuming a position as bishop in 2003 after it was learned he was in a longterm homosexual relationship, is scheduled to appear on Wednesday and will criticize ministers who use their Easter messages to preach that Jesus was sent to earth to die as an atonement for sin, reported the London Telegraph.

Christian theology has taught the doctrine of “penal substitution” – that humans, alienated from God by their sins and unable to save themselves, could only be forgiven by God sending Christ as a substitute to suffer and die in their place.

“In other words, Jesus took the rap and we got forgiven as long as we said we believed in him,” said John. “This is repulsive as well as nonsensical. It makes God sound like a psychopath. If a human behaved like this we’d say that they [sic] were a monster.”

‘Renew Animal Sacrifices on Mount’ Says Radical Rabbi

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

Notice that the press labels Rabbi Dov Stein as “radical” for suggesting that modern Jews actually follow the laws God laid down for them in the Torah.

Animal sacrifices should be renewed on the Temple Mount, a member of the radical Sanhedrin organization told Ynetnews.

In ancient Israel and Judea, the Sanhedrin served as the highest court in the land, and was made up of 71 top judges. Now, a group of fringe rabbis say they have reformed the group, although the organization has received no recognition from Israel’s official religious authorities.

“In the Torah there are around 200 commandments dealing with animal sacrifices,” said Rabbi Dov Stein, of the Sanhedrin organization. “The Torah of Israel demands animal sacrifices. When the people of Israel were in the Diaspora, it couldn’t be done. But now, there is the supreme institution, the Sanhedrin, made up of experts, and it can be done. The new Sanhedrin, like the old, will educate the people of Israel on how to keep and safeguard the Torah.”

‘Democracy was not invented today’

Stein vowed that “we will try to carry out animal sacrifices on the Temple Mount this Passover, as commanded by the Torah.”

Asked if his organization sought to rebuild the third Temple, Stein’s answer was unequivocal. “We want to establish the Temple again. Unfortunately, standing in our way is a hostile regime, the Israeli government, and rabbis who for political interest don’t want this to happen.”

Stein even suggested that Muslims would agree to the project, saying: “The Omar Mosque (the Dome of the Rock), built by Khalif Omar, was actually intended to safeguard the site for the Jews. Islam hasn’t always been so hostile. Despite its hatred and massacres against us, Islam sees in Judaism a source and a guide. I think the moment will come that Muslims understand the need to build the Temple and go along with us.”

Stein outlined his plan for Israel, calling for a king to be appointed democratically. “Democracy was not invented today, the king is elected from a list of candidates. A senior judge, as was done during the days of the judges, can also be appointed,” he added.

However, such practices ended 2000 years ago, Rabbi Doniel Hartman was quoted by the Associated Press as saying.

“Around that time, animal sacrifice, as a mode of religious worship, stopped for Jews, Christians and Muslims,” said the rabbi from the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem, according to AP. “Moving back in that direction is not progress,” he added.

According to mainstream Jewish thought, animal sacrifices must not be carried out outside of Temple, which itself cannot be rebuilt by human endeavor, but will be rebuilt upon the arrival of the messiah.

Imams narrow target of ‘(John) Does’

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

In their attempt to silence all forms of opposition to their attempt to force radical Islam on the United State, the terrorist front group, CAIR, attempted to include the individual citizens, who blew the whistle on the “flying imams”, in their lawsuit against U.S. Air. Now seeing that they were loosing support for this “carte blanc” lawsuit tactic, they have began to list the individuals who did the whistle blowing. These concerned citizens are being labeled by CAIR as “racist” and claim that they “falsely accused them (the imams) of behaving suspiciously.”
All these citizens did was to report what they felt was suspicious behavior. It was up to the airline security officials as to what to do with this information.
The legal ramifications against all citizens who report “suspicious” behavior is enormous. If this suit is allowed to go through, and not immediate quashed by a judge, citizens who do report “suspicious” behavior anywhere, could be sued for doing their civic duty. Let us hope that our liberal justice system can see that.

A group of imams suing US Airways for discrimination amended their lawsuit this week to target only the “John Doe” passengers who they say are racist and falsely accused them of behaving suspiciously.
The six imams were removed from a flight in Minneapolis in November for disruptive behavior reported by passengers and members of the flight crew.
The lawsuit filed earlier this month targeted “passengers who contacted US Airways to report the alleged ‘suspicious’ behavior of plaintiffs performing their prayer at the airport terminal.”
The amended lawsuit identifies possible John Does as individuals who “may have made false reports against plaintiffs solely with the intent to discriminate against them on the basis of their race, religion, ethnicity and national origin.”
“The only individuals against whom suit may be raised in this litigation are those who may have knowingly made false reports against the imams with the intent to discriminate against them,” Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), said in a letter this week to the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, a public interest law firm. The Becket Fund had publicly condemned CAIR for supporting the case.
“The imams will not sue any passengers who reported suspicious activity in good faith, even when the ‘suspicious’ behavior included the imams’ constitutionally protected right to practice their religion without fear or intimidation,” Mr. Nihad said. “When a person makes a false report with the intent to discriminate, he or she is not acting in good faith.”
The imams are being represented by New York lawyer Omar Mohammedi in the lawsuit, which has triggered an outcry among lawyers who say they will defend the “John Does” for free.
Becket Fund Chairman Kevin Hasson criticized the amended changes in a letter to CAIR on Thursday.
“There is no way Mr. Mohammedi can possibly determine whether the John Does ‘knowingly made false reports’ against his clients ‘with the intent to discriminate against them’ without taking their testimony under oath, at least during pretrial discovery,” Mr. Hasson said.
“That prospect alone, of being dragged into court proceedings, will certainly provide a great disincentive for other citizens to come forward with their own suspicions,” he said.
The case prompted House Republicans on Tuesday to insert a shield law for “John Does” into a rail safety bill. The legislation would protect passengers against lawsuits for reporting suspicious behavior that foreshadows a terrorist attack.
It is “unconscionable” that those who report suspicious activity could be “terrorized in our own court system in our own country,” said Rep. Steve Pearce, New Mexico Republican, who introduced the measure.
“Religious liberty is not absolute,” Mr. Hasson said. “It must yield before the government’s legitimately compelling interests. And the prevention of terrorism aboard airlines is certainly such an interest.”
The Becket Fund labeled the case “legal terrorism,” which Mr. Awad said “only adds to the empty and sensationalistic rhetoric of those who seek to disparage and demonize a segment of our society.”
“It was not meant as an insult,” Mr. Hasson said. “I think the public outcry over the targeting of the John Does proves the point I was trying to make. That legal tactic is self-defeating.”

91% of Americans Believe in God

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

March 30, 2007 – A belief in God and an identification with an organized religion are widespread throughout the country, according to the latest NEWSWEEK poll. Nine in 10 (91 percent) of American adults say they believe in God and almost as many (87 percent) say they identify with a specific religion. Christians far outnumber members of any other faith in the country, with 82 percent of the poll’s respondents identifying themselves as such. Another 5 percent say they follow a non-Christian faith, such as Judaism or Islam. Nearly half (48 percent) of the public rejects the scientific theory of evolution; one-third (34 percent) of college graduates say they accept the Biblical account of creation as fact. Seventy-three percent of Evangelical Protestants say they believe that God created humans in their present form within the last 10,000 years; 39 percent of non-Evangelical Protestants and 41 percent of Catholics agree with that view.

Captors Reportedly Step Back From Shalit Deal

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

As usual, the pali terrorist back away from doing the right thing. It’s bad enough that Israel has agreed to free dozens of terrorist in order to secure the release of Shalit, thus legitimizing the tactic of kidnapping.

RAMALLAH – Negotiations on the release of Gilad Shalit the Israeli soldier held by Hamas since his abduction on June 25 last year, have hit a bump and are now back at the starting point, Palestinian sources said yesterday.

These statements contradict the declarations of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, who said last week that he and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert had agreed on the outline of the deal for Shalit’s release.

All that remained, sources quoted him as saying, was to “conclude the final details.”

But Palestinian sources told Haaretz yesterday that a group of high-ranking officials in Hamas’ military wing, Iz al-Din al-Qassam, which is headed by Ahmed Jabri, have thwarted the deal.

They claim Shalit’s captors have expressed fear Israel reprisal if Shalit is released. They therefore decided against transferring the list of prisoners whom they wish to exchange for Shalit, the sources said.

Israel was to release their list of prisoners in several stages, and the abducted soldier was to be transferred to Egypt after the release of the first group.

The entire process was to be negotiated in Egypt with two delegations, Palestinian and Israeli.

However, the captors decided to disregard their agreement with the Hamas leadership in Damascus, and not to transfer the prisoner list to the Egyptians – deadlocking the talks.

The Christian Victims of Iraq

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

Please continue to pray for Christians who are victimized throughout the world.

Holy Week is a time when Christians think of the crucifixion of Jesus. This year, they should also be meditating on another crucifixion: that of a 14-year-old boy, nailed to a cross by Islamists in Iraq.

This diabolical crime was part of a campaign by jihadists to extinguish one of the most ancient Christian Churches in the world, that of the Assyrians. Thanks to the indifference of the West, the campaign is going jolly well.

Assyrian Christians, who belong to the Syrian Orthodox Church and a number of other small, ancient Churches, worship in (and sometimes speak) the mother tongue of Jesus, Aramaic. A few weeks ago, I had the honour of attending the liturgically rich and strange Syrian Orthodox Vespers in Westminster Cathedral.

I don’t know if the Christian teenager who was crucified in Basra last October knew Jesus’s language, but by the time the Islamists had finished with him he certainly knew a great deal about his suffering.

The West’s lack of interest in the fate of the Assyrians is disgusting, as you can read in this brilliant article by Ed West in the Catholic Herald. Here is how the piece starts:

“When they cook a dish in the Middle East, it is traditional to put the meat on top of the rice when they serve it. They kidnapped a woman’s baby in Baghdad, a toddler, and because the mother was unable to pay the ransom, they returned her child – beheaded, roasted and served on a mound of rice.

“The infant’s crime was to be an Assyrian, but this story, reported by the Barnabus Fund, went unnoticed in the West, like so many other horrific accounts of Christian persecution in Iraq. Since the invasion of Iraq, Muslim militants have bombed 28 churches and murdered hundreds of Christians. Last October, Islamists beheaded a priest in Mosul in revenge for the Pope’s remarks about Islam at Regensburg.”

The botched Allied intervention in Iraq has made the plight of the Assyrians infinitely worse – let us be in no doubt about that. But Western apologists for Saddam Hussein should note that it was his vile dictatorship that began the ethnic cleansing of Assyrians.

“Saddam destroyed over 200 of our towns and villages, but with our very limited resources, we have rebuilt hundreds of homes,” says a spokesman for the Assyrian Aid Society.

But, unless the conscience of Western Christians is diverted from facile gestures such as apologising for the slave trade, the charity’s efforts will be in vain.
