Rev. Jerry Falwell Has Died

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

Rev. Jerry Falwell, 73, has died unexpectedly. Please join me in praying for his family and friends during this difficult time.

LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Rev. Jerry Falwell has died, according to the Associated Press.

A Liberty University executive told the AP that Falwell, a leading Christian conservative televangelist, died Tuesday.

Falwell was hospitalized in “gravely serious” condition after being found unconscious in his office at Liberty University, a school executive said.

Ron Godwin, the university’s executive vice president, said Falwell, 73, was found unresponsive around 10:45 a.m. and taken to Lynchburg General Hospital. Godwin said he was not sure what caused the collapse, but he said Falwell “has a history of heart challenges.”

“I had breakfast with him, and he was fine at breakfast,” Godwin said. “He went to his office, I went to mine, and they found him unresponsive.”

Godwin said Falwell was receiving emergency care. A hospital spokeswoman said she had “no information to release at this time.”

Falwell, a television evangelist who founded the Moral Majority, became the face of the religious right in the 1980s. He later founded the conservative Liberty University and serves as its president.

Falwell survived two serious health scares in early 2005. He was hospitalized for two weeks with what was described as a viral infection, then was hospitalized again a few weeks later after going into respiratory arrest. Later that year, doctors found a 70 percent blockage in an artery, which they opened with stents.

Liberty University’s commencement is scheduled for Saturday, with former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich as the featured speaker.

Noah’s Ark Part 2 – A Bible Story Mural

Noah's Ark Part 1

On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark. They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings. Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark. The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.

For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered. The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than twenty feet. Every living thing that moved on the earth perished—birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind. Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died. Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.

The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.

Genesis 7:13-24 (New International Version)

“More Animals headed to the Ark! There are more than 60 animals in the two murals depicting Noah’s Ark. What a joy it is to see children choosing their favorite animals! Sunday School teachers at Central Baptist often bring the children to a mural as they teach that lesson.”

Calif. Students Pay Price for Refusing to Observe Pro-Homosexual ‘Day of Silence’

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

I was surprised at the number of students who stayed home on the “Day of Silence” in protest of it. It has also come to light that almost 50 students who did show up and then offered an opposing viewpoint were punished for exercising their constitutionally protected right of free speech.

Dozens of students at three Sacramento, California, area public schools were suspended when they took a stand against a pro-homosexual event — the “Day of Silence,” which was observed nationwide late last month.

In the Sacramento area, an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 students chose to stay home instead of being confronted with the pro-homosexual message on the Day of Silence. But nearly 50 students who did attend school that day wore clothing and distributed literature highlighting the dangers of homosexuality. Some of these students were sent home, some were suspended, and others were given “Saturday school.”

Brad Dacus is president of the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI), which is working to clear the offenses from the students’ records. “We’re hopeful that we’ll be able to reach a positive resolution without having to file a lawsuit. We’re still at the early stages,” he says.

“Unfortunately, California is like many parts of the country,” Dacus points out. “School districts and administrators are often very dogmatic about their liberal agendas,” he says.

The head of PJI believes the suspension of students who chose to counter the homosexual message was a clear violation of the Constitution of the United States. “The Constitution protects students from being discriminated against simply because the school district doesn’t like what they say or the fact that what they say comes from the Bible,” he asserts.

Dacus says the attorneys at PJI are working to have the suspensions rescinded. If that does not happen, however, he says legal action will be necessary, and this case could possibly wind up at the U.S. Supreme Court.

‘We Can Fire 3,000 Rockets a Day’ Says (Hizbullah Leader) Nasrallah

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

I found this quote almost funny:
“Resistance’ is stronger today than before, UNIFIL force can’t stop us”. As if the UNFIL has even been trying!! They’re too busy notating “violations” made the Israelis to notice the blatant violations made by Hizbullah as they totally ignore the U.N.
Here is a typical day in the life of UNFIL forcing Hizbullah to honor U.N. mandates:
Over the weekend, Israel’s Channel Two reported that Hizbullah had planted its flag on the Israeli-Lebanese border, before it was removed by members of the UNIFIL force. After a number of confrontations between UNIFIL and Hizbullah, Hizbullah members again planted their flag on their border.

Hizbullah “could launch between 1000 and 3000 rockets daily,” its secretary general Hassan Nasrallah claimed in an interview with a Dubai statellite TV station last week.

Nasrallah’s comments were reproduced on Hizbullah’s Arabic language website on Saturday, under the heading: “We could launch… 3000 rockets daily in a war in July.”

Last week, the UN’s Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, said he was disturbed by the levels of arms being smuggled to Hizbullah via the Syrian-Lebanese border. Ki-moon told the UN Security Council that evidence of the smuggling of arms was “detailed and substantial.”

During his interview, Nasrallah boasted that Hizbullah had amassed tens of thousands of rockets since the war last summer, adding that the international UNIFIL force stationed in southern Lebanon would be unable to stop Hizbullah from attacking Israel.

“When I said Hizbullah possesses more than 12 thousand missiles and then I said that we have more than 20 thousand rockets, this means that maybe we have 30 thousand or 80 thousand rockets or maybe more,” Nasrallah told the ‘Qalam Rasas’ program on Dubai Satellite TV.

While Hizbuallah fired between 300 and 400 rockets a day on Israel during last summer’s war, Nasrallah could now launch between 1000 and 3000 rockets daily, the Hizbullah site quoted its leader as saying. “Nasrallah stressed that the resistance is stronger today than before and can fight better than last year,” the website said.

“Asked whether Hizbullah was able to respond to Israeli attacks with the presence of international forces in southern Lebanon, the Secretary-General stressed that the resistance is located in the southern villages south of the Litani, and thus are still in their villages, mocking the enemy which said that Hizbullah is far from the border,” the website reported.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has often reiterated his view that the presence of the international UN force in Lebanon has succeeded in keeping Hizbullah cells away from Israel’s northern border, thereby marking a victory for Israel in the 2006 conflict.

John Doe in the Ft. Dix Six Case is a Teenage Hero

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

We should all thank this young man. He had a presence of mind that is absent in many adults and has saved many lives.

May 13, 2007 — MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. – It all began on a frigid January day with 10 bearded Muslim men huddled in the parking lot of a Circuit City debating who would go inside to have a copy made of a tape showing them firing guns and praising jihad.

Eventually, the group – who’d been seen standing outside earlier that January 2006 week – selected two men to go inside while the rest waited in the parking lot, an employee who was outside smoking at the time recalled.

Once inside, the two men approached the television section of the electronics store where videos could be transferred to DVD and copies could be made.

They handed the teenage clerk a mini-cassette tape from a camcorder and asked for a $20 transfer to be made to DVD. As they waited, the two men calmly walked around the store looking at televisions, video games and DVDs.

What they didn’t know was that they had sealed their ultimate fate.

When the teen and another employee went into a back room and began the conversion of the tape, they saw a group of bearded men wearing “fundamentalist attire” and shooting “big, **** guns,” the teen later told co-workers.

Throughout the 90-minute-long tape, above the booming gunfire at a Pennsylvania target range, the jihadists could be heard screaming “God is great!”

The two employees “freaked out,” their co-worker recalled.

At first, the teenage clerk didn’t know what to do, his pal said.

“Dude, I just saw some really weird ****,” he frantically told his co-worker. “I don’t know what to do. Should I call someone or is that being racist?”

The fellow employee tried to calm his friend and told him that if what he saw terrified him so much, he should tell the police.

The teen first consulted with a manager before making the 911 call.

FBI agents got a copy of the tape from Circuit City, and went to the teen’s house and interviewed him at length.

Hamas Terrorist Kill Fatah Terrorist

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

We continue to see perfect examples of what happens to population when they are taught hate all of their life. The pali terrorist have not been able to kill any innocent Israeli civilians lately, so they do what any good terrorist will do…they turn on each other. It still reminds me of the “rabid dog” scenario.
I have a lot of things that are amazing me today and this rates right up there with the others…why do we still think that these people deserve their own country??

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Hamas gunmen on Tuesday ambushed rival Fatah forces near a key crossing along the Israeli border, killing eight people in the deadliest battle yet in three days of factional fighting. The incident briefly drew Israeli gunfire, threatening to drag Israel into the conflict.

At least 18 people have died in the infighting, bringing life in Gaza to a standstill and pushing the fragile Palestinian unity government closer to collapse. Hamas and Fatah formed the union in March with the aim of ending months of violence.

Monday’s fighting erupted when Hamas gunmen approached a training base used by Fatah forces that guard the crossing, officials said. The base was set up in part by an American security team sent to train Palestinians on how to check cargo and baggage at crossings.

The Hamas force attacked the base with rockets, rocket-propelled grenades and mortars, said Ahmed al-Kaisi, spokesman for the pro-Fatah Presidential Guard, which guards the crossing under an agreement with Israel. “We consider this a serious provocation and a crime committed in cold blood,” al-Kaisi said.

When forces from another Fatah security unit raced to the scene to provide backup, they were ambushed by Hamas gunmen, witnesses said.

Connecticut High Court to Decide on ‘Gay’ Marriage

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – The question of whether same-sex couples in Connecticut should be allowed to ”marry” is now in the hands of seven state Supreme Court justices.

The couples, who have been together between 13 and 31 years, allege their equal protection and due process were violated when they were denied marriage licenses in Madison Town Hall.

Their case also raises questions about whether the state’s 2005 civil unions law — the first adopted nationwide without court pressure — helped or hurt same-sex couples in their quest for equality.

The plaintiffs want the court to rule that the state’s marriage law discriminates against them because it applies only to heterosexual couples, therefore denying gay couples the financial, social and emotional benefits of marriage.

The state argued Monday that Connecticut’s civil unions law gives the couples the equality they seek, and that the issue is a policy question best left to lawmakers rather than judges.

“All of those rights and benefits, at least under state law, have been granted,” Assistant Attorney General Jane Rosenberg said. “From a legal perspective, there are no rights that have been taken away from that group and, in fact, equal rights have now been given to that group.”

Radical Muslim Paramilitary Compound Flourishes in Upper New York State

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

I really am confused why the mainstream media continues to overlook this type of thing. It also amazes me that when it does finally come to light that more people are not really concerned about it.
Wake up, America!!

Situated within a dense forest at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains on the outskirts of Hancock, New York, Islamberg is not an ideal place for a summer vacation unless, of course, you are an exponent of the Jihad or a fan of Osama bin Laden.

The 70 acre complex is surrounded with “No trespassing” signs; the rocky terrain is infested with rattlesnakes; and the woods are home to black bears, coyotes, wolves, and a few bobcats.

The entrance to the community is at the bottom of a very steep hill that is difficult to navigate even on a bright sunny day in May. The road, dubbed Muslim Lane, is unpaved and marred by deep crevices that have been created by torrential downpours. On a wintry day, few, save those with all terrain vehicles, could venture forth from the remote encampment.

A sentry post has been established at the base of the hill.

The sentry, at the time of this visit, is an African American dressed in Islamic garb – – a skull cap, a prayer shawl, and a loose fitting shalwat kameez. He instructs us to turn around and leave. “Our community is not open to visitors,” he says.

Behind the sentry and across a small stream stand dozens of inhabitants of the compound – – the men wearing skull caps and loose fitting tunics, the women in full burqa. They appear ready to deal with any unauthorized intruders.

———-

The place is even off limits to the local undertaker who says that he has delivered bodies to the complex but has never been granted entrance. “They come and take the bodies from my hearse. They won’t allow me to get past the sentry post. They say that they want to prepare the bodies for burial. But I never get the bodies back. I don’t know what’s going on there but I don’t think it’s legal.”

On the other side of the hill where few dare to go is a tiny village replete with a make-shift learning center (dubbed the “International Quranic Open University”); a trailer converted into a Laundromat; a small, green community center; a small and rather squalid grocery store; a newly constructed majid; over forty clapboard homes; and scores of additional trailers.

It is home to hundreds – – all in Islamic attire, and all African-Americans. Most drive late model SUVs with license plates from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The locals say that some work as tollbooth operators for the New York State Thruway, while others are employed at a credit card processing center that maintains confidential financial records.

While buzzing with activity during the week, the place becomes a virtual hive on weekends. The guest includes arrivals from the inner cities of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and, occasionally, white-robed dignitaries in Ray-Bans from the Middle East.

———-

Islamberg is not as benign as a Buddhist monastery or a Carmelite convent. Nearly every weekend, neighbors hear sounds of gunfire. Some, including a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, have heard the bang of small explosives. None of the neighbors wished to be identified for fear of “retaliation.” “We don’t even dare to slow down when we drive by,” one resident said. “They own the mountain and they know it and there is nothing we can do about it but move, and we can’t even do that. Who wants to buy a property near that?”

The complex serves to scare the bejeesus out of the local residents. “If you go there, you better wear body armor,” a customer at the Circle E Diner in Hancock said. “They have armed guards and if they shoot you, nobody will find your body.”

At Cousins, a watering hole in nearby Deposit, a barfly, who didn’t wish to be identified, said: “The place is dangerous. You can hear gunfire up there. I can’t understand why the FBI won’t shut it down.”

Islamberg is a branch of Muslims of the Americas Inc., a tax-exempt organization formed in 1980 by Pakistani cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, who refers to himself as “the sixth Sultan Ul Faqr,” Gilani, has been directly linked by court documents to Jamaat ul-Fuqra or “community of the impoverished,” an organization that seeks to “purify” Islam through violence.

Though primarily based in Lahore, Pakistan, Jamaat ul-Fuqra has operational headquarters in New York and openly recruits through various social service organizations in the U.S., including the prison system. Members live in hamaats or compounds, such as Islamberg, where they agree to abide by the laws of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which are considered to be above local, state and federal authority. Additional hamaats have been established in Hyattsville, Maryland; Red House, Virginia; Falls Church, Virginia; Macon, Georgia; York, South Carolina; Dover, Tennessee; Buena Vista, Colorado; Talihina, Oklahoma; Tulane Country, California; Commerce, California; and Onalaska, Washington. Others are being built, including an expansive facility in Sherman, Pennsylvania.

Before becoming a citizen of Islamberg or any of the other Fuqra compounds, the recruits – – primarily inner city black men who became converts in prison – – are compelled to sign an oath that reads: “I shall always hear and obey, and whenever given the command, I shall readily fight for Allah’s sake.”

In the past, thousands of members of the U.S. branches of Jamaat ul-Fuqra traveled to Pakistan for paramilitary training, but encampments, such as Islamberg, are now capable of providing book-camp training so raw recruits are no longer required to travel abroad amidst the increased scrutiny of post 9/11.

Over the years, numerous members of Jamaat ul-Fuqra have been convicted in US courts of such crimes as conspiracy to commit murder, firebombing, gun smuggling, and workers’ compensation fraud. Others remain leading suspects in criminal cases throughout the country, including ten unsolved assassinations and seventeen fire-bombings between 1979 and 1990.

The criminal charges against the group and the criminal convictions are not things of the past. In 2001, a resident of a California compound was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of a sheriff’s deputy; another was charged with gun-smuggling’ and twenty-four members of the Red House community were convicted of firearms violations.

By 2004 federal investigators uncovered evidence that linked both the DC “sniper killer” John Allen Muhammed and “Shoe Bomber” Richard Reid to the group and reports surfaced that Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was captured and beheaded in the process of attempting to obtain an interview with Sheikh Gilani in Pakistan.

Even though Jamaat ul-Fuqra has been involved in terror attacks and sundry criminal activities, recruited thousands of members from federal and state penal systems, and appears to be operating paramilitary facilities for militant Muslims, it remains to be placed on the official US Terror Watch List. On the contrary, it continues to operate, flourish, and expand as a legitimate nonprofit, tax-deductible charity.
