Mexican Military Invades U.S…Again

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

How long are we going to live with the joke of “border security” in this country? What is going to have to happen in order to get people to demand that our borders be sealed? Is it going to take a city being destroyed before we understand? Wake up America!!

Mexican soldiers and civilian smugglers engaged in an armed standoff with nearly 30 American law enforcement officials on the southern U.S. border, according to Texas police and the FBI.

At a spot more than 200 yards inside the U.S., Mexican Army troops set up several mounted machine guns when U.S. Border Patrol agents called for backup Monday, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin of Ontario, Calif., reported.

The paper said Mexican military Humvees were towing what appeared to be thousands of pounds of marijuana across the border into the U.S., according to Chief Deputy Mike Doyal of the Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident took place on the Rio Grande near Neely’s Crossing, about 50 miles east of El Paso.

“It’s been so bred into everyone not to start an international incident with Mexico that it’s been going on for years,” Doyal told the Daily Bulletin. “When you’re up against mounted machine guns, what can you do? Who wants to pull the trigger first? Certainly not us.”

Confirming the afternoon encounter, FBI spokeswoman Andrea Simmons told the paper, “Bad guys in three vehicles ended up on the border. People with Humvees, who appeared to be with the Mexican Army, were involved with the three vehicles in getting them back across.”

Deputies captured one vehicle and found 1,477 pounds of marijuana inside, according to Doyal, who added Mexican soldiers set fire to one of the Humvees stuck in the river.

Such incidents are common, Doyal told the Daily Bulletin. Last November, his deputies were called on to back up agents from the Fort Hancock border patrol station in Texas after confronting more than six fully armed men dressed in Mexican military uniforms.

Armed with machine guns, the men were trying to bring more than three tons of marijuana across the border in military vehicles.

Doyal insisted the federal government must do something about the incursions, pointing out the deputies and border agents are not equipped for combat.

But Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff today played down the reports of Mexican military incursions, suggesting many could have been mistakes or criminals dressed in military garb. Last week, Mexican officials denied their military made any incursions.

The Daily Bulletin reported, however, border agents interviewed over the past year believe the confrontations were with Mexican military personnel.

Maine Middle School To Offer Children the ‘Pill’

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

Okay, let’s forget for a minute that we are talking about mere 11 year old children — that is mind boggling enough, but let’s think about the logic (or lack thereof) in this decision. At my child’s school it would take an act of congress to get him an aspirin, but this school system is going to allow children access to birth control without parental consent. Are you kidding me? Do we even know the risk factors (i.e. cancer, etc) associated with giving and 11 year old birth control pills? I seriously doubt that we do.
I am not naive enough to believe that there aren’t 11 year olds out there who are having ‘consentual’ sex, but I daresay that the majority of those who are having sex are being sexually molested against their will (and that is a problem that should be addressed by the authorities and not the school board!). There are so many things wrong with this decision I could never address them all, but it seems to me that the issue here is not preventing pregnancy. The issue here is that if an 11 year old child is having sex and tells an adult, that situation needs to be investigated thoroughly and not just glossed over by giving the child the ‘pill’. I wonder how many 11 year old kids are going to take that pill properly anyway. It is a completely ignorant, idiotic, and uneducated decision by a bunch of people who need to be voted out immediately!

Pupils at a city middle school will be able to get birth control pills and patches at their student health center after the local school board approved the proposal Wednesday evening.

The plan, offered by city health officials, makes King Middle School the first middle school in Maine to make a full range of contraception available to students in grades 6 through 8, according to the state Department of Health and Human Services.

There are no national figures on how many middle schools, where most students range in age from 11 to 13, provide such services.

“It’s very rare that middle schools do this,” said Divya Mohan, a spokeswoman for the National Assembly on School-Based Health Care.

The Portland School Committee voted 5-2 for the measure.

Chairman John Coynie voted against it, saying he felt providing the birth control was a parental responsibility. The other no vote came from Ben Meiklejohn, who said the consent form does not clearly define the services being offered.

Opponents cited religious and health objections.

Diane Miller said she felt the plan was against religion and against God. Another opponent, Peter Allen, said he felt it violated the rights of parents and puts students at risk of cancer because of hormones in the pill.

A supporter, Richard Verrier, said it’s not enough to depend on parents to protect their children because there may be students who can’t discuss things with their parents.

Condoms have been available since 2002 to King students who have parental permission to be treated at its student health center.

About one-fourth of student health centers that serve at least one grade of adolescents 11 and older dispense some form of contraception, said Mohan, whose Washington-based organization represents more than 1,700 school-based centers nationwide.

Iran Dismisses Bush World War III Remark

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

Iran Thursday shrugged off a warning by US President George W. Bush that its nuclear programme could lead to “World War III”, saying his remarks only served to show Tehran’s diplomatic success.
“These declarations show the anger of the United States against the success of Iran on the international stage,” said Abdol Reza Rahmani Fazli, the deputy head of Iran’s supreme national security council.

“The statements by the American president, who claims that Iran is seeking to make an atomic bomb, are part of a psychological war,” he added.

Bush warned on Wednesday that Iran must be barred from nuclear weapons after President Mahnoud Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be “wiped from the map.”

“I’ve told people that, if you’re interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon,” he said.

Washington accuses Tehran of seeking a nuclear weapon, allegations vehemently denied by the Islamic republic, which insists it only wants to generate electricity.

Rahmani Fazli also accused Bush of playing down the importance of Tuesday’s visit to Tehran by Russian President Vladimir Putin who backed Iran’s right to nuclear energy and emphasised Moscow’s differences with the West.

Bush was trying to “cover up the information about Putin’s visit and minimise the results of this visit,” he said.

The US president said he was looking forward to hearing Putin’s “read-out from the meeting” and “whether or not he continues to harbor the same concerns that I do.”

Syrian Official Says Israeli Airstrike Hit Nuke Facility

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

We now have confirmation that an Israeli air strike on Syria was against a developing nuclear facility.

DAMASCUS, Syria — A high-ranking Syrian official confirmed that Israel’s airstrike last month in northern Syria hit a nuclear facility, according to a document obtained Wednesday by FOX News.

“Israel was the fourth-largest exporter of weapons of mass destruction and a violator of other nations’ airspace, and it had taken action against nuclear facilities, including the 6 July attack in Syria,” Syrian representative Bassam Darwish is quoted in the document as saying.

Diplomats familiar with the document cannot explain why July 6 was invoked, instead of Sept. 6, the date both countries say an incident occurred. A State Department source tells FOX News the best explanation is that Darwish misspoke.

The document, released by the General Assembly’s Department of Public Information, recounted Tuesday’s proceedings at the annual gathering of the U.N.’s Disarmament and International Security Committee.

What is clear is that this is the first time Syria has acknowledged its nuclear efforts.

Kansas Planned Parenthood Clinic Charged With Providing Unlawful Abortions

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

I keep wondering how many more nails we have to drive into the coffin of abortions before people realize how awful they are. The Planned Parenthood infanticide providers seem to be getting into a lot of trouble lately all over the nation.
Pray that this country will put an end to abortion on a demand soon.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Planned Parenthood’s Overland Park, Kan., clinic was charged Wednesday with 107 counts, including accusations that it provided unlawful late-term abortions.

Johnson County prosecutor Phill Kline charged the clinic with 23 felony counts and 84 misdemeanor counts, according to court records. Besides 29 misdemeanor counts of providing unlawful late-term abortions, the clinic is charged with multiple counts of making a false writing, failure to maintain records and failure to determine viability.

Case documents have been sealed, according to a court order. The first hearing is set for Nov. 16.

Kline’s office did not immediately comment on the charges.

Peter Brownlie, president and chief executive officer of Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri, said Wednesday that the group hasn’t had any contact with the district attorney’s office but has heard rumors for months that Kline, an abortion opponent, was planning to file criminal charges.

“I’ve heard nothing at all about specific charges that have been filed,” Brownlie said in a telephone interview. “We always provide high-quality care in full accord with state and federal law.”

As for allegations that Planned Parenthood performed illegal late-term abortions, Brownlie said its clinic doesn’t perform any past the 22nd week of pregnancy.

Vladimir Putin Pledges to Complete Iranian Nuclear Reactor

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

End time signs continue to stack up at an alarming rate. It appears that Russia has now completely committed to making Iran a nuclear power. Keep looking up, Christians!!

President Putin forged an alliance with Iran yesterday against any military action by the West and pledged to complete the controversial Iranian nuclear power plant at Bushehr.

A summit of Caspian Sea nations in Tehran agreed to bar foreign states from using their territory for military strikes against a member country. Mr Putin, the first Kremlin leader to visit Iran since the Second World War, insisted that the use of force was unacceptable.

“It is important . . . that we not only not use any kind of force but also do not even think about the possibility of using force,” he told the leaders of Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

The declaration of the five states did not specify a particular threat. Rumours have long circulated, however, that the US is seeking Azerbaijan’s permission to use airfields for possible military action to stop Iran from developing a nuclear bomb.

Russia is building Iran’s first atomic power plant in the port city of Bushehr. A row over Iranian payments has slowed down the work, and Mr Putin emerged from yesterday’s meeting without setting a date for the $1 billion (£500 million) project.

However, Russian media later reported that Moscow had promised to complete the work on schedule. “The construction and the commission of Bushehr will be implemented in accordance with the agreed timetable,” the Russian news agency Ria reported, citing the two leaders’ joint statement. Mr Putin also invited Mr Ahmadinejad to Moscow.

Burka Bandit Hits Hiddenite Bank

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

What will be interesting if, when this person is caught, he/she are indeed Muslim. I know this going to sound strange, but where I can believe with little stretch of my imagination, a burka clad terrorist, having one holding up banks doesn’t fit their mindset.
I may be wrong, but I’m going to say that I believe this person is probably not a Muslim.

HIDDENITE, N.C. — Police are investigating an unusual robbery in Hiddenite.

Someone dressed in a burgundy burka walked into the People’s Bank at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, showed the teller a handgun and demanded money.

The robber then took off down N.C. 90 in a burgundy sport utility vehicle.

Authorities are looking into whether this bank robbery can be connected to one in Morganton.

An androgynously dressed person held up a bank there last week.

Officers aren’t sure whether they’re looking for a man or a woman in either case.

Police also think there is a good chance the burka burglar is working with at least one other person, a getaway driver.
