Whoever Believes In Jesus Is Not Condemned

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Arizona School District Student Discipline Plan Racist Against Whites – Feds Investigate

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Racism has many faces and isn’t just limited to Blacks and Hispanics. Whites also have to endure it.

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is investigating an Arizona school district’s newly adopted racial policy that purportedly calls for a “two-tiered form of student discipline: one for black and Hispanic students; one for everyone else,” according to a newspaper columnist.

As WND reported, Arizona Republic columnist Doug MacEachern drew attention to a decision made by the Tucson Unified School District’s board over the summer to adopt a “Post-Unitary Status Plan,” which includes the goal of reducing suspensions and expulsions of minority students to reflect “no ethnic/racial disparities.”

“TUSD principals and disciplinarians (assuming such creatures still exist) are being asked to set two standards of behavior for their students,” MacEachern commented. “Some behavior will be met with strict penalties; some will not. It all depends on the color of the student’s skin.”

MacEachern’s column quoted a section of the board’s 52-page plan titled “Restorative School Culture and Climate,” subhead, “Discipline.”

“School data that show disparities in suspension/expulsion rates will be examined in detail for root causes,” the new policy states. “Special attention will be dedicated to data regarding African-American and Hispanic students.”

Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne blasted the discipline plan Wednesday, according to the Arizona Daily Star. He admitted he hadn’t read the plan but called it “abhorrent,” warning that ethnicity should never be a consideration in disciplinary decisions.

“Either students have misbehaved or they haven’t,” he said.

“When you issue a decree that we want to reduce the discipline of minority students, you’re sending a message to teachers that if they have a student who is misbehaving and who is in a protected class, then they need to treat that student more leniently.”

TUSD Superintendent Elizabeth Celania-Fagen said Horne’s portrayal of the policy “is really not the truth.”

According to the report, the district is receiving dozens of angry e-mails from people across the nation.

The district has asked the Arizona Republic to retract the MacEachern’s characterization of the discipline policy.

MacEachern recently claimed his column prompted the federal government to look into the district policy.

“The legal office of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights told me Tuesday that it is looking into the district’s overly enthusiastic plan for lowering minority discipline reports, as a result of my Sunday column on the subject,” he wrote on AZ Central.

According to MacEachern’s original column, the board also created an “Equity Team” to ensure “a commitment to social justice for all students.”

“The happy-face edu-speak notwithstanding, what the Tucson Unified School District board of governors has approved this summer is a race-based system of discipline,” MacEachern concluded. “Offenses by students will be judged, and penalties meted out, depending on the student’s hue.”

However, school officials have refuted MacEachern’s description of the policy as “two-tiered” and argued that the new guidelines will only help correct racial inequalities that already exist in the system.

TUSD Governing Board member Adelita Grijalva told the Daily Star that MacEachern’s column was right in one aspect:

“Currently, we do have a two-tiered system,” she said. “If you look at children of color vs. Caucasian children, you will see that for the same kind of offenses, children of color are getting more severe consequences.”

The board’s report includes statistics that while American Indian students make up only 4 percent of the student body, they account for 20 percent of the suspensions across the district. And while black students only make up 7 percent of the student body, they account for 16.3 percent of out-of-school suspensions.

Grijalva also told the Star that administrators have had too much discretion over the years to give some kids a pass while throwing the book at others; and since the majority of teachers are white, they might not understand cultural differences.

“This will allow us to look at the situation with a bigger lens,” she said, “and I am 100 percent supportive of it.”

TUSD Assistant Superintendent Jim Fish told the Star that MacEachern had misunderstood what is meant by the board’s plan to adopt a more “restorative” culture and that seeing a two-tiered system of discipline in the policy is “far-fetched.”

“This would apply to all children,” Fish said. “There is no such thing as treating one class of students differently.”

Fish explained that suspensions and expulsions, which he sees as punitive and ultimately damaging to the students’ academic progress, will be reduced across the district, replaced instead with disciplinary measures that present “restorative” learning opportunities.

For example, Fish related to the Star, he dealt recently with a pair of students involved in a fight. Instead of an automatic suspension, he called the boys, their parents and a counselor into a meeting. The group discussed how the boys’ actions affected others and how disappointed the parents were. After the students expressed remorse and shook hands, they went back to class instead of being sent home.

“We’re teaching kids about the mistakes they’ve made,” Fish said. “People miss the point because they assume when they’re disciplining kids, they’re doing that. But they’re really punishing kids. If you’re out of school 10 days or 45 days and you’re not dealing with the infraction, you haven’t changed your thoughts or behaviors or actions.”

Fish explained that some behaviors, including having drugs or weapons at school will still carry suspensions, but many other instances would be better handled as restorative learning opportunities.

FBI Arrest 19-Year-Old Jordanian Muslim Terrorist, In U.S. Illegally, For Attempting to Set Off a “Car Bomb” Near Downtown Dallas

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Hats off to the FBI for foiling another Muslim Jihadist terrorist. Are you awake yet, America?

DALLAS — James T. Jacks, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, and Robert E. Casey, Jr., Special Agent in Charge for the Dallas Office of the FBI, announced today that Hosam Maher Husein Smadi, 19, has been arrested and charged in a federal criminal complaint with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction. Smadi, who was under continuous surveillance by the FBI, was arrested today near Fountain Place, a 60-story glass office tower located at 1445 Ross Avenue in downtown Dallas, after he placed an inert/inactive car bomb at the location. Smadi, a Jordanian citizen in the U.S. illegally, lived and worked in Italy, Texas, (approximately 45 miles south of Dallas). He has repeatedly espoused his desire to commit violent Jihad and has been the focus of an undercover FBI investigation.

“The highest priority of the FBI and the Department of Justice remains the prevention of another terrorist attack within the United States,” said U.S. Attorney Jacks. “In that effort, it is the job of the FBI to locate and identify individuals intent upon carrying out any type of attack upon this country and its citizens/residents. Whether as part of a group or acting alone, persons contemplating such acts need to know that all components of the government are working together to ferret out their activities and to insure that such individuals face the full measure of the law. The identification and apprehension of this defendant, who was acting alone, is a sobering reminder that there are people among us who want to do us grave harm,” Jacks continued.

Special Agent in Charge Casey said, “Today’s arrest of Hosam Maher Husein Smadi underscores the FBI’s unwavering commitment to bring to justice persons who attempt to bring harm to citizens of this country and significant danger to this community. Smadi made a decision to act to commit a significant conspicuous act of violence under his banner of “self Jihad.” He will now face justice. The many agents, detectives, analysts and prosecutors who helped to bring about Thursday’s arrest deserve special thanks for their efforts. This case serves as a reminder of the continuing threats of terrorism we face as a nation and the FBI’s resolve to meet those threats. The arrest of Smadi is not in any way related to the ongoing terror investigation in New York and Colorado.”

“The criminal complaint alleges that Hosam Smadi sought and attempted to bomb the Fountain Place office tower, but a coordinated undercover law enforcement action was able to thwart his efforts and ensure no one was harmed,” said David Kris, Assistant Attorney General for National Security.

Smadi will make his initial appearance tomorrow in U.S. District Court before U.S. Magistrate Judge Irma C. Ramirez, at 11:00 a.m.

According to affidavits filed today with the complaint and search warrants:

Smadi was discovered by the FBI espousing his desire to commit significant acts of violence. Smadi stood out because of his vehement intention to actually conduct terror attacks in the U.S.

The FBI developed an investigative plan to determine Smadi’s true intent while also protecting the public’s safety. Smadi made clear his intention to serve as a soldier for Usama Bin Laden and al-Qa’ida, and to conduct violent Jihad. Undercover FBI agents, posing as members of an al-Qa’ida “sleeper” cell, were introduced to Smadi, who repeatedly indicated to them that he came to the U.S. for the specific purpose of committing “Jihad for the sake of God.” Smadi clarified that he was interested in “self-Jihad,” because it was “the best type of Jiihad.” Smadi was interested in violent Jihad against those he deemed to be enemies of Islam. The investigation determined Smadi was not associated with other terrorist organizations.

Throughout the investigation, undercover FBI agents repeatedly encouraged Smadi to reevaluate his interpretation of Jihad, counseling him that the obligations a Moslem has to perform Jihad can be satisfied in many ways. Every time this interaction occurred, Smadi aggressively responded that he was going to commit significant, conspicuous acts of violence as his Jihad.

In June 2009, Smadi identified potential targets in the Dallas area; but in mid-July, he notified an undercover FBI agent that he had changed his mind regarding the targets. On July 21, 2009, Smadi met with an undercover FBI agent and directed the agent to drive them to a Wells Fargo Bank in downtown Dallas. Smadi and the undercover FBI agent then drove to 1445 Ross Avenue where the Fountain Place office tower is located. A Wells Fargo Bank is located in that building. Smadi went into the building where he conducted his own reconnaissance.

In late August 2009, while meeting with one of the undercover FBI agents in Dallas, Smadi discussed the logistics and timing of the bombing, stating that he would have preferred to do the attack on “11 September,” but decided to wait until after the month of Ramadan, which ended on September 20, 2009. At the conclusion of the meeting, Smadi decided that a vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) would be placed at the foundation of the Fountain Place office tower. Unbeknownst to Smadi, the FBI ensured the VBIED contained only an inert/inactive explosive device which contained no explosive materials.

A federal complaint is a written statement of the essential facts of the offenses charged, and must be made under oath before a magistrate judge. A defendant is entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. The offense of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction carries, upon conviction, a maximum statutory sentence of life in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The case is being investigated by the FBI in conjunction with members of the FBI-sponsored North Texas Joint Terrorism Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dayle Elieson is in charge of the prosecution. The Counterterrorism Section of the Justice Department’s National Security Division is assisting in the prosecution.

“The America’s Right ‘Know Your Protesters’ Quiz” by Jeff Schreiber

A humorous twist to what we’ve been saying here for years…

There is something going on in America. Supporters of President Barack Obama and the Democrats decry what they call a newfound display of partisanship, as if they were somehow elsewhere during the eight years prior to the inauguration of the Marxist Messiah, as if they forgot completely about the hatred spewed toward former President George W. Bush, the hateful signs displayed at street-corner protests, the movies made and books written about his hypothetical assassination.

What the American political left cannot come to grips with, however, is that those of us concerned for the future of our nation are not crazy, are not prone to violence. Time after time we’ve seen leftist political activists destroy whatever downtown district in which the G-20 and other world economic meetings take place. We see store windows broken, cars flipped over, rocks hurled at police officers, multiple arrests, and somehow that’s all accepted by the mainstream press. Yet when a few thousand people get together in a town square in Anytown, U.S.A. or a few hundred thousand get together in Washington, D.C. without a single arrest, it’s suddenly the epicenter of racism and political violence.

Think about it, for a moment. In New Hampshire, outside a contrived town hall-style meeting conducted by Barack Obama, a concerned, employed American stood with a sign in his hands and a pistol lawfully strapped to his thigh. In Arizona, a black man fielded questions at a tea party-type rally with an AR-15 lawfully slung across his shoulder and an extra magazine tucked neatly into the back pocket of his dress pants. The media went absolutely crazy, obsessed with the assassination of their president. Both men were bona-fide assassins in the eyes people like MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. The black gun owner found, even, that MSNBC refused to show his skin color because it was the gun which fit into that network’s interpretation of the American uprising, while his skin color worked against the point they were trying to make.

Consider for a moment what might have occurred if the same pistol and rifle were in the hands of some of the protesters in Pittsburgh yesterday. Somehow, I don’t think the result would be the same.

When I first saw video and images of the protests in Pittsburgh yesterday, all I could do was shake my head and laugh. Radical leftists were once again doing their thing, while even litter was hard to come by after the throngs of tea party patriots left Washington, D.C. to go back to their lives and jobs.

It’s time for America to come to grips with reality, to understand the bill of goods being sold to them by the Progressives and the mainstream press. It’s time for America to see that we have a president who errs on the side of totalitarianism, and a Congress more than willing to help him get there. And it’s time for America to see that there are real, true patriots willing to stand up and fight for their uniquely American freedom and God-given natural rights.

Look at the distinction between the two groups. Who are the violent ones? Who are the divisive ones? Who are the radicals? Know your protesters. See the difference. And make sure your friends and neighbors do, too.

U.S. to Accuse Iran of Building Secret Nuke Plant

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Well, it’s no surprise at all that Iran has a secret nuke plant. It’s been talked about for, oh let’s say, three to five years or so. The U.N. surely pass a resolution or two about it, condemning Iran for being naughty and not ‘fessing up to the fact they are trying to make nuclear weapons. Although if one were to think about it (and Google this blog), one will find many instances where Iran pretty much came out and stated 1) that they wanted a nuclear bomb, 2) they were working on making a nuclear bomb and missile system to carry it, and 3) they intend on using it on Israel someday.
So in light of those facts, please don’t act surprised about this. You’ve had tons of warnings.

Iran revealed the existence of a covert uranium enrichment facility to the U.N. nuclear watchdog this week after it discovered the project’s secrecy had been breached by Western intelligence agencies, FOX News has learned.

The U.S., Britain and France will accuse Iran on Friday morning of building the facility underground in secret and charge that it has hidden the facility for years from international weapons inspectors, a senior White House official said.

At an announcement before the opening of the G-20 economic summit in Pittsburgh, President Obama, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and French President Nicolas Sarkozy will demand weapons inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency be granted immediate access to the facility.

An official told FOX News that Iran revealed the existence of the second plant in a letter sent Monday to IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei.

Iran is under three sets of U.N. Security Council sanctions for refusing to freeze enrichment at what had been its single known enrichment plant, which is being monitored by the IAEA.

A senior administration official told FOX News that the U.S. has been tracking the secret project for years, but Obama’s announcement comes after Iran discovered in recent weeks that the West had been monitoring the project.

Iran’s letter to the U.N. contained no details about the location of the second facility, when — or if — it had started operations or the type and number of centrifuges it was running.

“They [Iran] have cheated three times, and they have now been caught three times,” an unnamed official with access to the intelligence told The New York Times.

But one of the officials, who had access to a review of Western intelligence on the issue, said it was about 100 miles southwest of Tehran and was the site of 3,000 centrifuges that could be operational by next year.

Iranian officials had previously acknowledged having only one plant — the one under IAEA monitoring — and had denied allegations of undeclared nuclear activities.

The last IAEA report on Iran in August said Iran had set up more than 8,000 centrifuges to churn out enriched uranium at the cavernous underground Natanz facility, although the report said that only about 4,600 of those were fully active.

The Islamic Republic insists that it has the right to the activity to generate fuel for what it says will be a nationwide chain of nuclear reactors. But because enrichment can make both nuclear fuel and weapons-grade uranium, the international community fears Tehran will use the technology to generate the fissile material used on the tip of nuclear warheads.

The revelation of a secret plan further hinders the chances of progress in scheduled Oct. 1 talks between Iran and six world powers.

At that meeting — the first in more than a year — the five permanent U.N. Security Council members and Germany plan to press Iran to scale back on its enrichment activities. But Tehran has declared that it will not bargain on enrichment.

While Iran’s mainstay P-1 centrifuge is a decades-old model based on Chinese technology, it has begun experimenting with state-of-the art prototypes that enrich more quickly and efficiently than its old model.

U.N. officials familiar with the IAEA’s attempts to monitor and probe Iran’s nuclear activities have previously told the AP that they suspected Iran might be running undeclared enrichment plants.

The existence of a secret Iranian enrichment program built on black-market technology was revealed seven years ago. Since then, the country has continued to expand the program with only a few interruptions as it works toward its aspirations of a 50,000-centrifuge enrichment facility at the southern city of Natanz.

Elementary School Students Taught to Sing Praises of President Obama

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Check out the latest blasphemy to come out of our public schools:

“One song that the children were taught quotes directly from the spiritual ‘Jesus Loves the Little Children,’ though Jesus’ name is replaced with Obama’s: ‘He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama.'”

Christians need to be angry about this and demand firings. Enough with sitting on our hands.

Some parents in a New Jersey school district are up in arms after a class of elementary school students was videotaped singing the praises of President Obama, an activity that has been criticized as “indoctrination.”

The tension at B. Bernice Young Elementary School escalated to such a degree Thursday that the school was placed temporarily on lockdown after its principal received death threats over a YouTube video that showed nearly 20 children being taught songs lauding the president, though back-to-school night events continuing as planned Thursday night at the school.

Video of the students at the Burlington, N.J., school shows them singing songs seemingly overflowing with campaign slogans and praise for “Barack Hussein Obama,” repeatedly chanting the president’s name and celebrating his accomplishments, including his “great plans” to “make this country’s economy No. 1 again.”

One song that the children were taught quotes directly from the spiritual “Jesus Loves the Little Children,” though Jesus’ name is replaced with Obama’s: “He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama.”

The video has set off some families in Burlington, who said they were horrified that their children at the being “indoctrinated” to view the president like a cult figure.

“I’m stunned — I can’t believe it’s our school,” said Jim Pronchik, who told his 8-year-old son Jimmy was one of the 18 students in the video. “We don’t want to praise this guy like he’s a god or an idol or a king or anything like that. That’s the wrong message to be sending.”

Click here to see the full lyrics to both songs.

Pronchik said he and his wife were never informed about the lesson, which the superintendent of Burlington Township schools says was held in February as part of Black History Month “to honor the contributions of African Americans to our country.”

But Andrea Ciemnolonski, the parent of another one of the students in the video, said the song was part of a second-grade project on a variety of topics related to the month of February, such as Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day.

“They did songs about President Washington, Lincoln, and they did do one about President Obama,” Ciemnolonski said. “My daughter was in the class that did the songs about Obama. It was black history month. … It was something for the kids to celebrate.”

Ciemnolonski said she “just can’t look at it as indoctrination,” though she added, “The comparisons made were a little exuberant.”

Superintendent Christopher Manno said in a written statement Thursday that the taping itself was out of order, but failed to address whether the lesson was approved. “The recording and distribution of the class activity were unauthorized,” he wrote in a note to parents and the media.

Other families arriving at Bernice Young Elementary to pick up their children said they were outraged at the songs, which also tout a fair-pay bill Obama signed in January: “He said we must be clear today/Equal work means equal pay.”

“I felt this was reminiscent of 1930’s Germany, and the indoctrination of children to worship their leader,” said Robert Bowen, father of two children at Bernice Young Elementary.

“I thought that if this was a civics class in say high school or upper level middle school, in might be appropriate to discuss policies or politics, but as far as children in first grade, second grade — those types of levels — it’s inappropriate to discuss how a president is changing the world after only six weeks in office.”

Parents said the songs were performed in Elvira James’ second grade class. James, who refused to comment to, retired at the end of the previous school year on a full pension in New Jersey.

Bowen said he thought there should be consequences for having provided such a one-sided lesson to impressionable students there.

“It’s something that there should be serious repercussions for … the administration here, and I think the school board needs to be answerable to the parents of the community,” said Bowen. School board members did not respond to requests for comment.

Though the school was not planning to address the tape during back-to-school-night events, many parents were heading in with with a lot of questions about the tape.

“This video is disturbing,” said a grandparent named Sandy, who spoke on the condition that her last name not be included. “We don’t teach politics in pre-school — or kindergarten or first grade.”

“This has no place in the classroom,” said Sandy, added Sandy, who told she has two grandchildren attending Bernice Young Elementary. “It may have been the opinion of one or two, and someone should pay the consequences for it.”

The author of the songs is unknown, but a woman — possibly a teacher — can be heard in the beginning of the video correcting and helping a student who has forgotten the words. Another woman, the person holding the camera, cheers the students on: “All right,” she says. “I like that.”

“Alteredbeat,” the YouTube user who posted the video on the Internet, told that the video was first put online by Charisse Carney-Nunes, an activist and author of the children’s book “I Am Barack Obama,” which her Web site says “allows children to see themselves through the inspirational story of President Obama.” Carney-Nunes has been promoting the book during visits to schools on the east coast.

A poster for the book can been seen near the stage of the auditorium in the video of Bernice Young Elementary, but it is unclear whether Carney-Nunes had visited the school or was present during the filming.

“Alteredbeat” told that he reached out to Carney-Nunes, who insisted that the program had been filmed in June as part of a Father’s Day tribute to President Obama. “The kids made up the songs on their own,” she wrote, according to the YouTube user.

“Alteredbeat” originally posted the video Sept. 6, two days before Obama made an address to the nation’s schoolchildren in which he praised the American education system as the best in the world and urged students to stay in school.

“At the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, and the best schools in the world,” Obama said.

Urgent: Westboro ‘Church’ Members to Target Brooklyn Jews

Friday, September 25th, 2009

The ‘Westboro Wackos’ are up to their same old routine again, this time in my good friend, Fern Sidman’s neighborhood, Brooklyn.
As I said here, “OK, I’m not an expert on cults, but I am officially declaring the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas, a cult. To call them a “Baptist Church” is akin to calling Madeleine Murray O’Hare an advocate of school prayer. These people are so far away from the teachings of Jesus and, for that matter, the Bible as a whole, to call them Christians is a slap in the face of our Lord, Jesus Christ and all who diligently follow Him.
I rebuke them and pray that God will open their eyes to the folly they are committing.”

For those of you who are not regular readers of our blog, I want to assure you that we do not have anything in common with the people at Westboro. Nothing at all. They are truly evil and are a pawn of Satan, despite their claim to be “Christians” and “Baptist”. They are anything but.
If you are reading this and live in Brooklyn or the surrounding area, please consider organizing or joining a counter protest. Please show up in massive numbers and show support for our Jewish brothers and sisters, and let’s show Westboro how much God hates those who pervert His Word!!

Topeka-based hate group Westboro Baptist Church is targeting Brooklyn Jews with a barrage of hate-filled demonstrations this week.

“These guys are really sick; they’re filled with hatred for Jews and a lot of other people,” said Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Borough Park). “We have to make their lives miserable when they come to Brooklyn.”

The anti-Semitic, anti-gay organization plans to picket five synagogues in the borough Saturday, the day before Yom Kippur, the most important religious holiday for Jews.

The group is on a four-day visit to New York, where they’ll demonstrate at 19 locations, mostly synagogues, around the city and Long Island.

They will start today at Brooklyn Tech High School in Fort Greene to bring their message to students.

The group’s members think the end of the world is coming, and frequently picket churches, temples and even funerals to try to spread their beliefs.

About 10 extremists drove from Topeka to New York for this week’s demonstrations. They plan to assemble on sidewalks and sing anti-Jewish songs and display signs with slogans such as “God Hates Jews” and “America is Doomed.”

“We’re not looking for any welcome wagon,” said Shirley Phelps-Roper, 57, a Westboro organizer. “We just hope the police will keep the peace.”

She said the group has visited New York for protests 34 times since 1994, and has never had a violent incident.

Westboro members have visited Brooklyn twice previously, most recently to picket the Christian Cultural Center on Flatlands Ave. in 2006. They have now decided to target Jews in the borough because “there are 1.6 million Jews in New York and Brooklyn so we need to go there,” Phelps-Roper said.

The first of the five temples the group plans to picket on Saturday is Temple Shomrei Emunah in Borough Park.

“I’ll be there, and so will many members of the Jewish community,” said Hikind. “I think there will be a lot of anger.”

The police have been notified of the group’s plan to picket Shomrei Emunah and the other sites.

Borough President Marty Markowitz, City Councilman Bill de Blasio, Rabbi Andy Bachman of Congregation Beth Elohim in Park Slope, community leader and politician Brad Lander and the Lambda Independent Democrats issued a joint statement yesterday that read, in part:

“While we support the right to peacefully gather, we must denounce hate in any form – especially hate from a fanatic cult based in Kansas that has shamefully selected these sacred days observed by the Jewish community around the world to spew its intolerance.”
