Fort Hood Jihadist Reportedly Took “a Lot of Extra Classes in Weapons Training”

Friday, November 6th, 2009

OK, something doesn’t add up here. Major Nidal Malik Hasan’s family says “he wasn’t even someone who enjoyed going to the firing range,” yet according to Bob Owens over at Pajamas Media, “U.S. Representative Michael McCaul attended a military briefing this morning (Nov. 6, 2009) and found out that Hasan had taken ‘a lot of extra classes in weapons training, which seems a little odd for a psychiatrist.’” (emphasis mine)
Mr. Owens continues on with this excellent point: “In retrospect — and combined with information that Hasan had started yesterday by giving away some of his personal effects, such as furniture — it appears that his assault at Fort Hood wasn’t the result of a man under extreme pressure suddenly snapping. Instead, it looks like a calculating murderer took the time to prepare for his attack well in advance.”
Combine this with the eye-witness accounts that Hasan shouted “Allahu Akbar!” — “God is great!” in Arabic — before opening fire and was calm during the shootings, and we quickly loose the case for a physiologically disturbed person who “snapped” and just as quickly establish a case of Islamic Jihadist waiting until the perfect opportunity came up to wage jihad on U.S. soil.
Fern Sidman, a guest commentator here on our blog, emailed me this morning with this comment:
“…why do [the U.S. military] actively recruit Muslims to join the service when they are fully cognizant of the fact that their allegiance to their country is eclipsed by their 24/7 constant devotion to Islam and Allah, which is [a] direct contravention to the precepts of our society and culture and the laws of our country?”
Political correctness has completely blinded us to the dangers Islam poses to our “Western” way of life. I fear that incidents like the Fort Hood murders will only continue to escalate until America wakes up.

“Our clueless C(ommander) in C(hief)” by Clarice Feldman

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Twelve soldiers were murdered in cold blood at Fort Hood. Thirty others were wounded. Our Commander in Chief calls a press conference and begins it with a long thanks to the Interior Department and Indians who just concluded a conference and then gives a good natured “shout out” to an attendee , all with a studied nonchalance, before he even mentions the outrage on our military base.

(see original link for video)

J.C. Arenas adds:

Notice him looking down at the podium as he’s making the comments.

How convenient it was for CBS to cut out the part where he’s celebrating his outreach to Native Americans, which he called a “Top Priority”.

Andrew Thomas adds:

How do you believe our beloved President Obama would rank these in priority order?

* 1. The men & women of the US armed forces
* 2. His legislative priorities
* 3. Himself

On Thursday, 11 soldiers and civilian police in Ft. Hood, TX were slaughtered execution-style at close range and over 30 others wounded, allegedly by a US Army Major Malik Nadal Hasan. The President immediately addressed the nation concerning this horrific event.

However, his expression of grief was very odd. He spent the first two minutes of the four-and-a-half minute address in a light-hearted discussion of his earlier “Tribal Nations Conference” on Native American rights, including a “shout out” recognition of a conference attendee.

When he finally got around to the purpose for his public appearance, he gave an uninspired and rambling dissertation on the tragedy. Even then, he could not keep the topic focused on sympathy for the pain of others:

I want all of you to know that as Commander in Chief, that there’s no greater honor, but no greater responsibility for me (emphasis his) than to make sure that the extraordinary men and women in uniform are properly cared for…

Poor soul, it’s so saddening to know how this tragedy affects him. Listening to this address provides some insight into Obama’s character and how he ranks his priorities.

Fort Hood Muslim Jihadist Shouts “Allahu Akbar!” and is Calm During Shootings

Friday, November 6th, 2009

More details are coming out about the Muslim terrorist jihadist who killed 13 fellow soldiers and wounded 40 others during a terrorist shooting attack at Fort Hood. Survivors said Major Nidal Malik Hasan, shouted “Allahu Akbar!” — “God is great!” in Arabic — before opening fire and was calm during the shootings.
We’ll post more details as they become available. See links, to our previous post about this horrific incident, below.

The Army psychiatrist suspected of being the lone gunman in a horrific massacre at Fort Hood in Texas took a “very calm and measured approach” to carrying out the mass shooting, the commanding general said Friday.

Survivors of the rampage that killed 13 and wounded 30 said the suspect, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, shouted “Allahu Akbar!” — “God is great!” in Arabic — before opening fire, base commander Lt. Gen. Robert Cone said.

Cone said officials had not yet confirmed that Hasan, 39, made the comment. Authorities raided his apartment early Friday in a search for clues but haven’t yet been able to talk to Hasan, who also survived the shootings and was hospitalized on a ventilator.

A police source told FoxNews.com that authorities were searching for a white Ford hatchback linked to the shooting and believed to be the suspect’s car.

Military officials were piecing together what pushed a man who helped troubled soldiers to turn on his comrades. The Army wouldn’t discuss a motive in an early-morning press conference, but initial reports suggested he feared his imminent deployment to Afghanistan and had been critical of the wars there and in Iraq.

“He was mortified by the idea of having to deploy,” Hasan’s cousin Nader Hasan told The New York Times. “He had people telling him on a daily basis the horrors they saw over there.”

SLIDESHOW: Deadly rampage at Fort Hood Army Base

Federal law enforcement officials told The Associated Press that Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings. The officials said they are still trying to confirm that he was the author.

One of the Web postings that authorities reviewed is a blog that equates a suicide bomber to a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades.

“To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause,” the Internet posting reads. “Scholars have paralled (sic) this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers.”

Hasan was working with soldiers at Darnall Army Medical Center on Fort Hood after being transferred in July from Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he had worked for six years before recently receiving a poor review.

Cone said the shooter used two guns, including a semi-automatic weapon. He added there was no indication they were military weapons. Hasan was not known to be a threat or risk.

“We had no problems with job performance while he was working at Darnall,” said Col. Steve Braverman, the Fort Hood hospital commander. When pressed, Braverman added, “Not here. … I’m not aware of any problems here.”

Thursday’s massacre was the worst mass killing ever to take place on a U.S. military base. A female military police officer who shot Hasan was the one who stopped the spree. She survived, contrary to earlier reports that she had died.

Report: Iran Tested Advanced Nuclear Warhead

Friday, November 6th, 2009

The toothless U.N. nuclear watchdog group, the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) has asked Iran to explain why they appear to have the technology to make nuclear weapons now. Where was this report last month when the chairman of the IAEA said that he had no evidence that Iran was building or attempting to build nuclear weapons?

The U.N. nuclear watchdog has asked Tehran to explain evidence suggesting that Iranian scientists have experimented with an advanced secret nuclear warhead design, according to a report published Friday.

Citing what it calls “previously unpublished documentation” from an International Atomic Energy Agency compiled report, Britain’s The Guardian newspaper said Iranian scientists may have tested high-explosive components of a “two-point implosion” device.

The report said that even the existence of two-point implosion nuclear warhead technology is officially secret in both the U.S. and Britain. The technology allows for the production of smaller and simpler warheads, making it easier to put a warhead on a missile, the newspaper said.

The IAEA said in September it has no proof Iran has or once had a covert atomic bomb program.

The U.N. watchdog’s statements followed reports from the Associated Press quoting what it called a classified IAEA document saying agency experts agreed Iran now had the means to build atomic bombs and was heading towards developing a missile system able to carry a nuclear warhead.

Extracts of the report have been published before, but it was not known the document included information on such a sophisticated warhead, the newspaper said.

A nuclear site, which Iran revealed in September three years after diplomats said Western spies first discovered it, added to fears of secret Iranian efforts to develop nuclear bombs. Iran claims it is enriching uranium only for peaceful electricity use.

House Dems to Ram Gov. Health Care Down American’s Throat in Special Session Saturday

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Well, Obamacare and the Pelosi plan for government run health care will be rammed down our throats this Saturday (Nov. 7, 2009) in a special session of congress. Dems have a fight on their hands, but the legislation is expected to pass.

WASHINGTON – Democrats in the House of Representatives are scrambling to secure enough support to pass President Barack Obama’s historic health overhaul initiative, working to soothe last-minute concerns from rank-and-file Democrats ahead of a make-or-break vote.

Voting is set for Saturday on the 10-year, $1.2 trillion legislation that embraces Obama’s goals of extending health coverage to tens of millions of uninsured Americans and putting tough new restrictions on insurance companies.

Obama was set to make a personal appeal to the Democratic rank and file in a visit to Capitol Hill Friday. That was called off late Thursday after the shootings at Fort Hood, Texas, and rescheduled for Saturday.

The House effort picked up two major endorsements Thursday, from the powerful seniors’ lobby AARP and the American Medical Association.

Action on health legislation was slowed as senators waited for the Congressional Budget Office to weigh in on a bill written by Majority Leader Harry Reid in consultation with the White House and key committee chairmen. Senate votes could slip until next year, but in the House Democratic leaders pressed forward.

They expressed optimism that when it came time to vote, they’d have the majority needed to prevail in the 435-seat House.

Asked Thursday if she had the votes, Speaker Nancy Pelosi replied: “We will.”

Unemployment Rate Tops 10 Percent as 16 Million People Look for Jobs

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Wait, how is this possible? Didn’t President Obama promise us that if we rushed his trillions of dollars worth of stimulus package through that it would save or create jobs? Didn’t the Most Exalted Occupier of the White House just get done telling us how many jobs he created since taking office? So how can this information be true?

WASHINGTON — Nearly 16 million people can’t find jobs, the Labor Department said Friday, pushing the unemployment rate over 10 percent for the first time since 1983.

The Labor Department said Friday that the economy shed a net total of 190,000 jobs in October, less than the downwardly revised 219,000 lost in September. August job losses were also revised lower, to 154,000 from 201,000.

But the loss of jobs last month exceeded economists’ estimates. It’s the 22nd straight month the U.S. economy has shed jobs, the longest on records dating back 70 years.

Counting those who have settled for part-time jobs or stopped looking for work, the unemployment rate would be 17.5 percent, the highest on records dating from 1994.

The jobless rate rose to 10.2 percent from 9.8 percent in September. The jump reflects a sharp increase in the tally of unemployed Americans, which rose to 15.7 million from 15.1 million. That was much larger than the net loss of jobs, which is based on a survey of businesses.

Economists say it could climb as high as 10.5 percent next year because employers remain reluctant to hire.

Violent “Jihad” at Fort Hood, Tx Leaves 13 Dead, 30 Wounded

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Yesterday, a Muslim Jihadist, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, attacked unarmed soldiers and civilians at Fort Hood, Texas, leaving 13 people dead and 30 wounded. This is the worst shooting on a U.S. military base in our history.
Now we are left to wonder why.

Nitial Malk Hasan

Here are several key facts that I’ve been able to determine:

  • Major Hasan was born and raised a Muslim and from reports from family members, was quite devout.
  • He was set to deploy overseas soon.
  • Hasan had hoped President Obama would pull troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq.
  • He got into frequent arguments with others in the military who supported the wars.
  • He had tried hard to prevent his pending deployment.
  • Hasan had come to the attention of law enforcement officials at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed homicide bombings and other threats.
  • He is reported to have said on his blog: “To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause. Scholars have paralled (sic) this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers.”
  • So why did he do this?

He was obviously disgruntled and didn’t wish to be deployed. He is a deeply devout Muslim and apparently in conflict with “waging war” against other Muslims. Even though his position was a non-combat role and he would have been providing aid to his fellow soldiers, this apparently was “close enough” to put him in conflict with his religion.

My question though is why kill innocent people? Why didn’t he resign if he felt that strongly about this? Was he prevented from doing so? Why did he feel that taking these lives was a better thing to do than helping his fellow soldiers on deployment? These are all questions that we are going to have to wait to have answered.

Some Muslims will trumpet the “great” deeds this man has done at Friday prayer services around the world. Many Muslims will publicly denounce his actions while secretly supporting this terrible act of terror. Groups like terrorist front group CAIR (the Council on American-Islamic Relations), will certainly deny there is any relationship between this and the tenets of Islam (read the Koran like I have and you’ll find out differently). What we can count on is the usual silence from the Muslim community.

Jeff Schreiber at America’s Right said:

When it comes to news, however, the real story here is the intentional glossing over of reality. Like it or not, we are at war with radical Islam. And like it or not, radical Islam is at war with us. No amount of name-changing will change that — Hasan didn’t care that the American war effort abroad was no longer called the “Global War on Terror,” he believed that Muslims had a right to kill Americans, that killing Americans and killing yourself in the name of Allah was honorable and heroic.

When is that story going to be told? How many times will we be forced to listen to network anchors blaming on “battle stress” the murderous actions of a radical Muslim who had never experienced battle? How many times must we hear that Hasan was just another peaceful member of the Religion of Peace, that this was just yet another isolated incident?

Dr. Phyllis Chesler emailed me this morning and she sums up the situation perfectly:

“Just think: Islam as violent jihad trumped Major Hasan’s Americanization and more important, trumped his training as both a soldier and as a psychiatrist! He is a Trauma expert, specialized to help people who have faced disasters. (Or so I’ve been told). All the brakes failed, no dam could withhold a Jihadist whose time had come.”

She’ll be publishing her thoughts on this entire ordeal soon, so please visit her website and blog often.

Military officials were starting Friday to piece together what may have pushed an Army psychiatrist trained to help soldiers in distress to turn on his comrades in a shooting rampage that killed 13 people and wounded 30 in Texas.

Authorities raided the apartment of suspected shooter Major Nidal Malik Hasan early Friday in a search for clues, as another victim died from injuries suffered during the worst mass killing on a U.S. military base.

Hasan was on a ventilator and unconscious in a hospital after being shot four times during the shootings at the Army’s sprawling Fort Hood, post officials said. In the early chaos after the shootings, authorities believed they had killed him, only to discover later that he had survived.

Federal law-enforcement agents ordered an evacuation of the apartment complex where Hasan lived in Killeen, Texas, and conducted a search of his home, said Hilary Shine, director of public information for the city. She didn’t say what was found during the search.

Officials said earlier that federal search warrants were being drawn up to authorize the seizure of his computer.

Before Thursday’s shooting, Hasan reportedly gave away all of his furniture along with copies of the Koran to neighbors, KXXV-TV reported.

Authorities have not ruled out that Hasan was acting on behalf of some unidentified radical group, a senior U.S. official in Washington said. He would not say whether any evidence had come to light to support that theory.

The motive for the shooting wasn’t clear, but Hasan was apparently set to deploy soon, and had expressed some anger about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, said generals at Fort Hood told her that Hasan was about to deploy overseas.

Retired Army Col. Terry Lee, who said he worked with Hasan, told Fox News that Hasan had hoped President Barack Obama would pull troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq. Hasan got into frequent arguments with others in the military who supported the wars, Lee said, and had tried hard to prevent his pending deployment.

Federal law enforcement officials told the Associated Press that Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed homicide bombings and other threats. The officials said they are still trying to confirm that he was the author.

One of the Web postings that authorities reviewed is a blog that equates homicide bombers with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades.

“To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause,” said the Internet posting. “Scholars have paralled (sic) this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers.”

They say an official investigation was not opened.

The shooting took place 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the post’s Soldier Readiness Center, where soldiers undergo medical screening before being deployed or after returning from overseas.
